AN: Well I've noticed that the first two chapters may have been kind of short so, I'm going to try to make the third one a little longer. Once again I would like to thank Angelxoxo8 for giving me permission to use her universe. And if this was a real TV series the theme song would be, 'Master of my life' By Eden Espinosa. With that being said, on with the chapter.
The group began traveling through the forest following the map to the location of the lost kingdom. Viola was reading the map as she rode with Cass on Fidela and Arnie rode with Chance on Ajax. The group came across the first obstacle on their journey which was a huge gap over a very large drop, the two sides were connected by a rickety rope bridge.
"Okay, so the first of many obstacles we have to get through in order to get to Lugeariya is to cross this rope bridge." Viola said reading the map. Arnie gulped in fear of the height.
"Um, I- Isn't there a-another way a-around?" Arnie asked stuttering
"Nope, we have to cross the bridge." Viola said shaking her head.
"Okay, since the bridge is weak we can't all go at once, we have to go one at a time. Fidela first then Ajax Owl, you fly next to them each." Cass ordered as she and Chance held each side of the bridge to keep it steady After both Horses successfully made it across Arnie was told to go next but was petrified.
"Um, actually, Vi why don't you go after all ladies first." Arnie said nervously. Chance rolled his eyes and spoke up.
"No, Vi, hold the other end of the bridge I'll help him across." Said Chance
"No, it's not safe for two people at once." Cass protested but Chance reassured her.
"Don't worry, I don't think Arnie will cause much of a weight problem." Chance smirked gesturing his thumb to Arnie, who looked slightly offended. Cass nodded approvingly and Viola took hold of the other side of the bridge as Chance and Arnie walked along.
The two guys walked along the bridge with Arnie in front of Chance, Arnie was lightly whimpering as the bridge shook lightly as the two slowly walked across it. Chance was getting annoyed with Arnie's cowardliness and spoke up.
"Oh, man up, just don't look down and you'll be fine." Chance said annoyed. Arnie just took a deep breath and walked a little faster until one of the bridge boards cracked.
"Ah!, I looked down, I'm gonna fall!" Arnie freaked out as Chance got more irritated and tried to calm him down.
"You're not gonna fall you're fine, see?" Chance said shaking the bridge but that just made Arnie panic more.
"Don't do that!" Arnie yelled in fear
"Keep moving and I'll stop." Chance said which worked and Arnie sprinted to the end of the bridge with a sigh of relief when he made it. "See?, You're fine." Chance said as he signaled the girls, letting them know they were done.
Cass held both sides of the bridge as Viola walked across calmly, "See, she's not freaking out, and she's a girl." Chance told Arnie with a teasing smirk, He didn't mean that in a sexist way of course. When Viola finally made it across It was finally Cass's turn, Cass knew since everyone else was at the other side of the bridge, there was no one to hold the sides of the bridge for her, so she had to be extra careful.
Cass slowly walked across the rickety bridge remaining calm as she moved along. Suddenly, when she was half way across the bridge slowly began to fall apart Cass turned and noticed it and was a little frightened.
"Cass, run!" Arnie yelled from the other side of the bridge. Cass took his suggestion and sprinted towards the other side the bridge collapsed but Cass jumped and nearly fell off the edge of the cliff, but was caught by Chance, who was currently holding her bridal style.
The two stared at each other with red faces as Chance gently set her down. They avoided eye contact with each other due to their slight embarrassment.
"Thanks." Cass said simply.
"You're welcome." Chance simply responded. the two shook off their embarrassment and decided to move along.
The group traveled to through several more obstacles on their journey, they went trough a tunnel that was extremely dark and was full of bats and other animals. Next they had to journey through a small field which was extremely hot, and then they had to journey across some violent rapids. Eventually, They made it to a large mountain that they had to climb in order to finally reach the kingdom.
When the group finally made it to the top, their journey was nearly complete as Viola read the map. "Okay, according to the map this is where the kingdom should be." Viola said as the group found themselves in a huge stone-covered landscape.
"This must be it, The book did say that the kingdom was turned to stone." Chance said assessing the groups surroundings. The group explored the stone-clad kingdom until Owl hooted them over to a certain area.
"What is it Owl?" Cass asked, the group went to where Owl was calling them and they came across a big wall with a symbol on it that looked like a sleeping face. The group examined the wall as Cass spoke up. "This face on the wall looks so real." Cass said when the walls eyes suddenly opened and it spoke.
"I am." The wall suddenly came to life startling the group. "I am Pollex, I was once the leader of Lugeariya's guardians, But when a group of thieves suddenly attacked and overpowered my teammates I was forced to allow our Queen, to turn me into this, so that the kingdom may be protected and that new guardians will be chosen. I selected one unknown being and three allies to takeover as the kingdom's protectors." Pollex explained.
This made Cass think, the reason she left her home in the first place was to find her destiny and it could be possible that this was it, but Cass wasn't sure. "Has anyone tried to free the Kingdom in the past?" Cass asked curiously.
"There have been no other people who have made it here, when our Queen casted the spell she made it so that the first ones to come here will be the ones who are chosen. However, despite the fact that I choose the one to do it I do not know the identity of them." Pollex told them, giving Cass hope. "One of you must be the one to free our people and be our new protectors." Pollex said as a huge mark with a hand print on it opened up next to him. "One of you must touch the hand print and if it frees the kingdom, then you are the chosen one."
The group looked to one another trying to figure out who should do it before Arnie spoke up. "Well, it can't be me, I'm not that kind of person." Arnie said putting his head down in shame.
"I'm not sure I'm meant for something like this." Viola said
"I'm no protector." Chance simply stated.
Cass stood silent for a moment and spoke up. "About a year ago I betrayed my friends because I always felt like I was nothing compared to them, but then after we made up I left hoping to find my true destiny and now I think I may have finally found it." Cass said with a determined grin on her face.
"You have you?" The gang turned as they heard a familiar voice and once again saw Anakin and his men " Thank, you for leading me to the kingdom, now thanks to you I will finally become the ruler of Lugeariya!" Anakin declared.
"I'll never let you!" Cass protested
Anakin cackled before he responded. " You think you're some kind of hero? You said it yourself you betrayed your friends and tried to take over your own home, Your nothing more than a thief like me." Anakin said causing Cass to frown. "Are, you sure you left your home to find your true destiny? or was it because you know that after what you did they want nothing to do with you?"
Cass was on the verge of crying but the she unsheathed her sword and attempted to slash Anakin, Who blocked the shot with is own sword. Soon Cass and Anakin engaged in a duel, one on one Cass fought hard but Anakin had her backed against a corner. "You're weak, you're no hero just a traitor and a scared little girl." Anakin taunted until Chance came up from behind him and grabbed Anakin and started dueling with him pretty soon Anakin found himself in a two on one battle. "Help me, you idiots!" Anakin called to his goons.
Next thing they knew Cass and Chance were outnumbered by Anakin and his goons. Arnie and Viola watched and knew that their friends needed help. "We have to help them!" Viola said but Arnie was hesitant
"But, we can't fight." Arnie said as Viola gave him a look of compassion.
"Arnie, I know you're scared but we need to help them, we're a team they'd do the same for us." Viola said Causing Arnie to put a confident look on his face.
Cass and Chance were still fighting and pretty soon they were surrounded. But then the goons were suddenly trapped by a rope and yanked to the ground, Anakin looked behind him to see Arnie, Viola and the horses pulling a rope from Cass's satchel. Cass and Chance were proud of the kids.
"Way to go kids!" Chance said praising the teens as Arnie smiled proud that he faced his fears.
While Anakin was distracted, Cass kicked the sword out of his hand and held both to his face and Chance kicked him down. "you, haven't seen the last of me!" Anakin yelled as he and his goons left the mountain.
The group celebrated their victory but Cass looked a little sad. "What's wrong Cass?" Viola asked
"What if Anakin was right, I mean I hurt my friends." Cass said with doubt
"Yeah, but you made up with them." Arnie said trying to cheer her up.
"And you are a hero. You saved us and helped realize that we can do anything." Viola added
"Cass, you are the one meant for this and we are the group chosen to help you, Cass you're more than a hero you're a leader." Chance said.
Cass looked up and saw the group smiling at her, Cass smiled herself and walked up to the wall and placed her hand on the handprint. Soon the kingdom slowly began to break free of it's stone prison and then the kingdom was free.
Cass looked around and smiled with joy when she realized that this was her destiny.
"You did it Cass!" Arnie said as the group ran up to her.
"Thank you Cassandra, because of you Lugeariya is finally free." Pollex said as he began to slowly vanish. Just then the group was approached by a beautiful looking woman with red hair and white robes with a crown on her head.
"Cassandra, I am Queen Scarlet of Lugeariya, and I would like to thank you and your friends for freeing my people. And for stopping that evil man Anakin from taking over." the queen thanked her. As Cass bowed as to say 'You're welcome'. "And, since you were the one to free us that means you all are destined to be our new protectors." The queen said as the other three were surprised at her statement.
"Why, us? I mean I know the prophecy said three allies would join her but I'm not cut out to b a protector." Arnie said
"But, you stuck by her you all did, you are her friends and you helped find her destiny. Because of that you all are destined to be her teammates." Said with a kind smile.
"What do you say guys? Teammates?" Cass asked smiling. The group looked to one another and nodded agreeing to be her teammates.
Later that day the queen officially declared Cass, Arnie, Viola and Chance the new guardians of Lugeariya and the citizens of the kingdom cheered and praised them including Fidela, Ajax and Owl. Cass was happy to find her destiny and new friends to be by her side.
