(4)-Welcome To Ev.
Aiden stood somewhere in a desert land where the whole sky was covered with purple clouds, which made the whole desert purple. He knew he was in Oz, he just didn't know what region. To make matters worse, he had also lost the silver sneakers during his transfer back here.
"Oh, man, what have i done, it happened so fast. Where am i, i don't know this part of Oz." Said Aiden. "Oh, how could i have lost the shoes?" He said before looking down at his sandaled-feet. "Ane why was i stupid enough not to put them on first? Who knows when i'll get home again now, or see Mom and Friday?" He said. The silver sneakers. His only ticket to and from Oz. He had been searching for them for days in order to prove to his mother that Oz was a real place, not some made-up land in a book series for kids. Now, after all that searching, he finally found them. This was his chance find out for himself if Oz was real or not. He had now learned that it was real...only to lose the silver sneakers again in the process. Just like the first time when he had them...they were gone without a trace. Who knows where they ended up? He knew they ended up here Oz, but the question was where. "Huh?" The 10-year old boy looked and saw three weird-looking male creatures on all fours with wheels for feet coming his way.
"Row, row, row your wheel, role it all about." Merely, merely, merely, merely keep all strangers out." The wheel people sang as they made their way towards Aiden. "Hahahahahaha!" They laughed.
"We are nasty!" Said one of the male wheel creatures.
"We are mean!" Added the second male wheel creature.
"We scare folks we've never seen!" Said all three wheel people as they rode around on their four wheeled-feet, circling Aiden. "Hahahahahaha!" They laughed.
"Where am i?! What's going on?!" Aiden shouted, making the wheel people stop riding around and focus on him.
"You're in the Deadly Desert. One of the lands of Ev." The first wheeled-creature answered.
"Ev?" Aiden asked, confused. What were these creatures? And what were they talking about? Ev? Where in Oz was that? He'd never heard of it before. "Where in Oz is that?"
"Oz? That's miles away from here. Ev is a land of it's own." The first wheeled-creature said.
"It is?" Aiden asked.
"Yes, it is. Now get out, stranger!" Said the first wheeled-creature said.
"Yeah, get out!" Added the second wheeled-creature.
"You're tresspassin'!" Said the third wheeled-creature.
"Well, what are ya wait'n for?!" Asked the first wheeled-creature.
"I-i..."
"Who are ya anyway? Ya don't live around these parts?" The second wheeled-creature asked, cutting Aiden off.
"My name is Aiden and i'm from Kansas! Now, whoever you are, cut it out! If you're trying to scare me, it won't work!"
"Huh? 'Course it will, we scare everybody!" Said the first wheeled-creature.
"Well, you don't scare me!" Said Aiden.
"We do so!" Said the first wheeled-creature.
"Do not!" Aiden said.
"Eh...never ran into this before." Said the first wheeled-creature.
"Look, we're Wheelers and we're mean!" Said the second wheeled-creature, revealing himself and the other two creatures as wheelers.
"Well, maybe i am too if you try anything!" Aiden said.
"How'd you get in here without wheels?" The first wheeler asked.
"I was at home alone with my dog, Friday, who brought me a pair of silver shoes. I clicked the heels of the shoes together three times and suddenly i was flying through the air." Aiden explained.
"Huh? You have shoes that can make you fly?" The second wheeler asked.
"I couldn't have dreamt it, i don't know myself. Like i said, i clicked the heels of the shoes together, the window broke by itself, and i span around in circles and went flying out the window and into sky." Said Aiden.
"Then what happened?" The second wheeler asked.
"I flew a long way...and the next thing i know i'm here in this weird place." Aiden said, finishing his story.
"Huh? That's the tallest tale i've ever heard. Either you're lying or you're some kind of wizard!" Said the second wheeler.
"Yeah, either you're lyin' or you're some kind of wizard!" The first wheeler added.
"If you are a wizard, we don't want you here!" Said the second wheeler.
All three wheelers began talking all at once as they pointed their right front wheels at Aiden, accusing him of being a wizard.
"No, no!" Aiden said.
"We wheelers have never liked wizards! Get out your wand and disappear, alright?!" The second wheeler said.
"But i'm not a wizard, really, i'm not." Aiden assured.
"Ha! Hey, wonder if he works for that metal man." The second wheeler said.
"Oh, you mean Tin Man?" Aiden asked.
"Huh? Even knows his name!" Said the second wheeler.
"Yeah, Tin Man's one of my best friends." Aiden said.
"Best friends?" Asked the second wheeler as he and the other two wheelers looked at each other. "Well, your best mechanical tried to rob us!"
"Yeah, rob us!" The third wheeler added.
"That's crazy talk, there must be some mistake. Tin Man would never rob anyone. He's the most decent person you could hope to meet." Aiden said.
"We met him and hope to never, ever meet him again, so there!" Said the first wheeler.
"Yeah, so there!" Added the second wheeler.
"Would you stop yelling?! Nothing makes me angrier then being yelled at!" Aiden said.
"Huh?! Hey, wait, if anyone's gonna get angry around here, it us! Get angry, boys!" Said the first wheeler.
All three of the wheelers started singing as they circled around Aiden. The first wheeler started driving towards him and he got out of the way, allowing the creature to pass, followed the second one coming towards him and him dodging that one too. When the third wheeler came his way, he barely dodged it, falling to the ground. The first and third wheeler crashed into each other, making the first one fall over. The second wheeler stopped and the third one crashed into him from behind and they both fell to the ground.
Seeing that the three wheelers were now down on the ground, Aiden decided to take advantage of this and ran off down a road.
"Hey! He's get'n away, boy!" Said the first wheeler.
"After him!" Said the second wheeler.
"Party blower!" Said the first wheeler. "Come back!" He said before he and the other two wheelers got up and chased after Aiden. "Row, boys, row! He's got a head start!"
"Come back here you!" Said the second wheeler.
"No fair get'n away, we got ya outnumbered!" Said the third wheeler.
"Yeah, give up without a fight!" The second wheeler added.
Aiden soon came to a stop when he reached the end of the road, which ended with a cliff. "Oh, no." He said. He heard the sounds of the wheelers' wheels from behind him and turned to see three wheeled-creatures coming his way.
"Stop, wizard!" Said the first wheeler.
"Yeah, we gotcha now!" The second wheeler added.
"Thought you'd get away from wheelers, huh?!" Said the third wheeler.
As the wheelers closed in on him, Aiden saw a rocky mountain and began climbing it.
The wheelers soon made it to the cliff of the road and looked up to see Aiden climbing the mountain.
"Where do you think you're goin'?! We almost had ya!" Said the lead wheeler as he and the other two angrily ranted all at once.
Aiden climbed up the mountain while the second wheeler attempted to ride up the mountain, only to slide back down and land on the ground. Aiden stopped and looked down at the wheelers, who were all still on the ground. "Oh, thank goodness, they can't come after me here."
The wheelers continued to rant as Aiden climbed all the way up to the top of the mountain and then looked down at them.
"Yoo-hoo, what's keeping you?!" Aiden shouted with his hands to his mouth.
The wheelers kept shouting all at once.
"Hahahahaha!" Aiden laughed. "Goodbye." He said before leaving...heading off through mystery land known as Ev to find the silver sneakers and get back home to his mother and his dog, Friday.
