(7)-A Worried Mother.
Sharon was still sitting at the table in the interrogation room, patiently awaiting Stella's return. She had been in here for over 15 minutes since the female officer left out of the room and so far there was no news on the evidence or any word on Aiden's whereabouts. 15 Minutes. He could've been anywhere by this point. Anywhere. Hey, he could've been in another town for all she knew.
The door opened and Stella entered inside, followed by closing the door behind her.
"Well?" Sharon asked as she stood up from the table. "Any luck?"
"You really wanna know?" Stella asked.
"Just tell me what you found in the evidence." Sharon said. It had been 15 minutes. Surely the cops had managed to find something in the evidence that would tell them where Aiden was.
"No DNA was found on the broken glass. Not Aiden's nor a stranger's." Stella answered.
"Well, how will you find him?" Sharon asked. "When will you find him?! Today, tomorrow, this week, next week, the week after? Next month?!" She asked frantically.
"I feel more optimistic if you bring a picture of your son so we can make missing flyers of him and plaster them all over town. Sorry. I know this isn't the news you wanted to hear." Stella said.
"How close are you to finding my son? Are you close?" Sharon asked.
"We're not very close, ma'am. We're close at all." Stella answered.
Sharon remained quiet. This situation was like a rerun of last year when Aiden's father and Grandmother had kidnapped him. It was six months before he was found. Six months. And during those dark six months, Sharon had lost her unborn baby. When the year 2000 rolled around, she started making plans in January to move her, Aiden and Friday out of the state of Tennessee to get away from all the press and media attention. She figured now was as good a time as any, since the world had now come into the new year. After all, new year, new life. But suddenly it didn't feel like a new year anymore. With Aiden gone a second time, it felt like 1999 all over again. So far, the year 2000 was starting to go down hill. For her, anyway. Because now it looked like she had lost her son all over again.
Stella then turned and left out of the room again, closing the door behind her.
Sharon sat back down in the chair and covered her face with her hands, resting her elbows on the table. "(Sighs)." She sighed in exhaustion. "Aiden...where are you now?"
