Something went wrong when I tried to post this chapter earlier so I'm trying again.
Chapter 3: Family
Nessie's POV
"What is she?!" aunt Rosalie growled scaring them holy crap out of me even more.
"Don't be alarmed," Carlisle said calmly. "She's not a threat,"
"How can you be so sure or that Carlisle? We don't even know what she is," Uncle Jasper added. I could tell that he was falling into his soldier mind set. He was always very calculating that way. Always analyzing potential threats. When he saw a potential threat his answer was a surefire one. Eliminate the threat. I felt a shiver run down the base of my spine.
"I will let her explain for herself," Carlisle said.
My heart was beating fast. My palms very sweaty. "I'm going to try to explain this in a way that doesn't sound completely crazy," I was so nervous that even my voice was shaking. Then a wave of calm overcame me thanks to uncle Jasper.
"Well spit it out!" aunt Rose shouted.
"I was walking with my husband when suddenly we were attacked by something or someone. When I woke up it was the year 2004. I'm from the year 2021. Somehow I traveled back in time. I don't know why or how but I did,"
"So you expect us to believe that you're from the year 2021?" uncle Emmett asked incredulously.
"and that you somehow traveled back in time?" aunt Rosalie added. "Do you think we're stupid?"
"She's telling the truth Rosalie," my father stepped right in front of me as if he were protecting me.
"You really believe that this girl is from the future Edward?" grandma Esme spoke for the first time.
"You forget that I've been listening to her thoughts this entire time. She's a vampire-human hybrid from the future. It sounds insane but she is telling the truth,"
"She's a what?" Alice asked.
"There is no such thing," Rosalie spat.
"I wouldn't have believed it either if I hadn't seen it in her mind. The things she knows about our family is impossible to ignore. She is telling the truth. She's half human and half vampire. She's also my daughter apparently,"
"That's impossible we all know that vampires can't have children!" Rosalie shouted.
I sighed. I suspected that it was going to be difficult to get my family to believe. I was just going to have to show them everything. Just like I had with Carlisle.
Besides my father aunt Alice was the closest to me so I would start with her first. I had just taken my first step toward her when uncle Jasper leaped in front of her. He was crouched like a lion ready to attack. Edward grabbed me and pulled me back.
"Look solider," I said to my uncle which surprised him greatly. "I'm a pregnant half human teenage girl. Do I really look like a threat to anyone here?"
"How did you know that I was a soldier?"
"Because I'm your niece from the year 2021. I know you all don't believe me. Hell I wouldn't believe me either. So I'm just going to show you all one by one,"
"Fine then show me first,"
I gulped nervously. I hoped that this wasn't something trick. I looked at my father for some reassurance. He pushed me forward gently so I assumed that meant my uncle was safe to approach.
Using my unique gift I showed him all of my memories just like I had done with Carlisle. One by one I showed all of them my thoughts and my memories. At the end everyone was speechless as was I.
"They're still processing it all," my dad whispered into my ear.
"and you're not?"
"Oh believe I still am too,"
Esme was the first to make any kind of movement. I saw her smiling as she walked up to me and then she hugged me. Suddenly she became the grandma Esme I knew and loved.
"I have a granddaughter. This is such wonderful news,"
"So what are we going to do with her?" Alice asked.
"Considering that she doesn't have anywhere to go I think that she should stay with us for now. Until we can figure out how to get her back to her own time," grandpa Carlisle stated.
"I agree," grandma Esme said. "Would you like to live with us Nessie?"
I smiled as relief washed over me. My family wasn't going to attack me out of fear. They were going to welcome me into their home. I breathed a sigh of relief.
"So how are we going to introduce her to people?" uncle Emmett asked.
"Well considering that I already told Charlie, err Chief Swan, that I'm Edward's biological twin sister I think we should stick to that story,"
"Nessie is right. They do look enough like each other to pass for siblings," grandpa Carlisle spoke.
My father and I looked at each other. We had the same bronze hair color. The same long piano playing fingers. My skin was almost as pale as his. We were even about the same height.
"So weird," I heard my father say. I chuckled.
"Alright so it's settled then," grandpa Carlisle said. "You're Edward's twin sister. That's what we'll tell people. We will also have you enrolled in school as well,"
"Um-"
"after you give birth of course. When are you due?"
"In a few weeks. Right around Christmas,"
"Then you will start on January 18th. That's the earliest we can have your paperwork ready by,"
January 18th, 2005. That was the very same date that my mom was going to start school. My heart skipped a beat.
"That sounds okay to me,"
Esme grabs my shoulder and says "Why don't you come with me and I'll help you get settled in?"
There wasn't much to do since I didn't have much with me. She led me to my spare room which would coincidentally become my room when I was born. I got settled in quickly.
As soon as she was gone I went through my bag and took out my iPad and started reading a Harry Potter book I had downloaded onto it. In the future I loved making fun of my father because he looked exactly like Cedric Diggory. I'm pretty sure my father now cursed the day Robert Pattinson was born.
"What is that?"
I looked up and saw my father walking into the room. He was looking at my iPad.
"This is called an iPad. It won't be invented for a few more years. Just a heads up you might want to start buying a lot of stock in Apple if you haven't already,"
Dad didn't say anything to that. "Carlisle forgot to remind you of one very important rule that we have around here," he sat down on the edge of the bed. "Do not, under any circumstances, visit the Quileute reservation,"
"Why-oh that's right because of the treaty. I forgot about that,"
"That's right. We made a treaty many years ago and we promised to stay off of Quileute land. It's extremely important that you stay away as well. The wolves might not be here anymore but we abide by our promise to the Quileutes,"
"Oh the wolves haven't come back yet?"
"What do you mean haven't come back yet?"
I sighed. In my memories that I had showed my family I didn't mention the wolves. Perhaps I should've. I just didn't think much of it I guess.
"Oh yes the wolves will return very soon. But they aren't dangerous-"
"aren't dangerous?!" dad shouted. "The wolves are extremely dangerous and I can't believe that you-"
"The wolves aren't dangerous and I know this because I'm married to one of them. Jacob Black. I'm pregnant with Ephraim Black's great great grandson,"
My father was looking at me like I had completely lost my mind.
"Who is this Jacob Black?"
"I guess you don't know him yet but you definitely will. After uncle Jasper tries to attack mom on her 18th birthday you and the rest of the family leave which causes my mom to basically become a walking unfeeling zombie. That is until Jacob Black. He helps my mom heal and they fall in love. When you return it turns into this whole love triangle triangle situation. It's pretty crazy. Then-"
Edward stood up and walked out without saying a thing. Shame I hadn't even gotten to the part where Jacob imprints on me as soon as I'm born and we become soulmates. Oh well.
