Chapter 7: School

Nessie's POV

It was now Monday and I was getting ready for school. I'd convinced my grandparents to get me enrolled already. It wasn't an easy feat to pull off. But after offering J.Jenks a generous amount of money he was able to create a fake ID and fake transcripts for me as well as fake immunization records.

Now here I was hoping to actually get into the school. I wasn't actually guaranteed registration. "Good luck Nessie," my dad said as he dropped me off as close to the front office as he could.

"Thanks dad,"

"Remember you can't call me dad here. It will look very strange," he reminded me. Of course I was all to used this already. I'd grown up knowing the only time I was allowed to call my parents by their first names was when we were in public.

I went into the front office and saw Bella standing there getting her schedule. She hadn't noticed me yet.

The receptionist noticed me though. "Oh hi. You must be Renesmee Cullen?"

Bella turned around clearly surprised to see me standing there.

"Yes that's me,"

"Dr. Cullen called this morning. He already faxed over your transcripts and immunization records. I already finished up your schedule. You and Bella here have all the same classes. It's her first day as well,"

"Thanks Mrs-I'm sorry what is your name?" I asked her.

"Oh it's Mrs. Cope," she smiled warmly at me as she pressed my schedule into my hand. "Well you two better get going. You don't want to be late on your first day of class,"

"I thought you said you weren't starting until next month?" Bella asked me as soon as we were out of earshot of Ms. Cope.

"Oh I decided to start early. So my father had all of my transcripts transferred over. I didn't think I'd get setup this fast though,"

"Well at least we'll be new together," she said. She was smiling. My mom always said I had a way of making her smile. I wondered if I was having that affect on her right now.

"How is your baby doing?" she asked me.

"He's doing great. I'm the one that's having a hard time. Leaving him behind this morning wasn't easy at all," As a matter of fact I'd almost started crying when I left him with Esme. I wasn't sure if that was just my emotions and hormones running rampart or if uncle Jasper was having some kind of effect on me.

Just then some girl walked right up to us. "Hi I'm Jessica. You must be Isabella Swan. We weren't expecting you until next month,"

"It's just Bella and I decided to come early,"

"Oh nice. Who are you?" she asked turning toward me.

"Renesmee Cullen. But just call me Nessie. Before you ask yes I am related to the Cullens,"

"Oh really?"

"Yeah I'm Edward's long lost twin sister. They just found me through the courts,"

Jessica wasn't the only one to approach us on the way to class. I remembered the stories my mom would always tell me about her first few days here. How her being a new student here had been something of a novelty since Forks never got any new students.

But damn this was something else entirely. People kept walking up to the both of us. Even when we finally sat down in our first period class people kept asking us questions until the teacher finally started the class.

Even then we couldn't escape the spotlight entirely as we were made to introduce ourselves in front of the class. Something that neither my mom or I particularly liked.

I had a hard time focusing on the lesson at hand. It wasn't just because I'd already learned the material, though that was definitely part of the reason, it was also because I was trying hard not to stare at my mother.

The only memory I had of my mom as a human was right after she'd given birth to me. She looked so sickly. The pregnancy hadn't been easy on her at all. At the time she'd been seconds away from death. If my father hadn't injected her with his venom when he had she would've died.

So to see my mom as a human and so full of life was something I was having a hard time getting used to. I was startled when she suddenly grabbed my arm.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to say that I'm really glad that you're here," she said. "It's nice to know at least one face already,"

"So does that make us friends?" I asked sounding stupid even to my own ears.

She smiled. "Yes it does,"

Being friends with your mother was a weird concept. "So I have a question for you Nessie. If you're only 15 why are you in your junior year?"

"Oh I skipped two grades when I was younger," this actually had been a topic of conversation with my family a few days ago. I didn't want to be the only tenth grader in the family though. So I convinced them to let me say I skipped two grades.

While Bella and I were friends that didn't stop others from wanting to befriend us as well. Mike Newton was a little overly friendly though. To the point where it was downright annoying. I mean the boy was following us everywhere he could offering to help us with things like carrying books.

Angela was a very nice girl though. So when she and Jessica invited us to go sit with them at lunch we didn't hesitate.

"So how do you two like it here in Forks so far?" Angela asked us.

"Oh well-ouch!" mom shouted. She'd accidentally cut her hand while she was cutting up some meat. The blood poured freely from her wound.

Blood. Oh no.
