Chapter 11: Plan

Nessie's POV

My father was right as usual. My family was not judgemental at all when my dad and I told them everything that had happened at school today. I should have known that he would be right. My family has always been so understanding about everything.

On the downside this revelation meant that they would have to keep a closer eye on both of us while we were at school. But at least they were not saying that I should avoid school altogether.

After our family meeting I excused myself to my room. Baby Seth started crying so I went to get him. It turned out that he just needed a diaper change. I changed him fast before he could pee on me like he did the first time I changed him.

I was just happy to be home with my son. Being apart from him during school hadn't been easy at all. I had spent nearly all day missing him.

I got started on all of the homework that I had been assigned that day. It was easy. I'd already learned all the material while being homeschooled growing up.

For the first seven years of my life I'd been homeschooled. I remembered how badly I had longed to go to a regular high school from the rest of my family. I'd been forbidden from attending because of my fast growth rate. It wasn't until I stopped aging at seven years old I was allowed to have the high school experience.

I'd been to two different high schools in the last eight years. I've already graduated high school twice. I'd continued my family's tradition of collecting graduation caps.

The best part of it all was that Jacob was always with me. Jacob was beyond happy to attend the same school that I was attending.

I wondered what happened to Jacob when we were attacked. I wondered why he was sent back in time with me. I still had so many questions in my head. So many questions and so little answers.

I went to sleep that night with numerous questions on my mind. So much so that I had a hard time falling asleep at first. I kept tossing and turning until I finally did fall asleep.

Being at school the next day wasn't very easy. Mike's scent began to drive me crazy. But it was nothing compared to his fresh blood. As long as he didn't bleed I had a much higher chance of resisting him.

My dad wasn't having it much easier either. I could see him struggling. But with the rest of my family watching over us neither one of us would slip any time soon.

It surprised me when my dad started talking to my mom that day in Biology. They were discussing the current lab assignment. I listened in intently as Mike and I worked on our own lab assignment together.

I could see my mother's fascination with my father growing right before my eyes. I was happy that I would be able to get to witness my parents love story unfold right before my eyes. Even if it did start happening earlier than it originally did.

Alice was still worried about the repercussions my presence would have here. She'd given me another lecture a few days ago about how my presence was already changing things up and it wasn't necessarily for the better. She said that I really needed to be careful here.

"You could erase yourself out of existence quite by accident," she said.

"As long as my parents still get married in August 2006 I will still be born a month later," I said confidently.

"Not exactly," Alice shook her head. "What if your parents decided to have sex sooner than that? What if your mother gets pregnant with another hybrid baby? What if she turns before you are conceived?"

Those were questions I hadn't thought about before and now it scared me. Had I already done permanent damage to the future? I tried not to think about that.

Days passed and soon it was Friday. I thought I'd celebrate the incoming weekend by going out to the movies with Bella, Jessica, and Angela. It was a girl's night sort of thing.

We had just left the theater and were on our way to get something to eat for dinner when I noticed a man following us. A man and a young girl probably around four or five years old. The wind blew the man's scent toward me and I stiffened. I'd recognize the scent of wolf anywhere. But as far as I knew Sam was the only active shifter right now in this time period and as of 2021 I'd never met this man.

"You guys go ahead I'll catch up shortly," I said.

"You sure?" Bella asked.

"Yeah I'm sure. Go ahead without me,"

I waited until the girls were out of sight. The strange man and young girl had frozen on the spot. This was stupid. I shouldn't be approaching a strange man that I don't know. But I did it anyway.

"Why are you following us?" I went straight to the cut.

"I was hoping to talk to you Nessie. I wanted to apologize for everything,"

My body stiffened. "Who are you and how do you know my name?"

"I'm the one that sent you back in time,"

I blanched. I hadn't been expecting that. "Wha-what?"

"It's quite a long story. I'm part human, part wolf, and part vampire. I'm gifted in the sense that I can time travel and I can send others back in time. I can't always control it though. My daughter Isabel and I just spent the last three months in 1918 before I finally was able to travel here at least,"

"I'm sorry but who are you and how do you know my name?"

"Oh I'm sorry about that. My name is Seth but I usually call you mom,"
