Chapter 18
Day two working as a lifeguard at Bondi Beach. Brian stepped out of the car. He walked to the tower. "Hey, Brian." The kangaroo said. "Hey, dude." Brian said. He reached over and grabbed the keys to the locker room. He took the jeep over and changed up, then drove towards the shoreline. He slowly drove down, stopping at some points to look around.
Trouble! A wolf was bopping his head up and down. "Help!" He cried. Brian grabbed a backboard from the jeep and rushed in. The wolf grabbed the board and pulled himself on. "You good?" Brian asked him. The wolf nodded. Brian swam, pushing the board back to shore. The wolf got out. He clutched his ribs, breathing a little fast. "Dude, I think you should come with me back to the tower." Brian said. "Yeah." The wolf added, he leaned his arm around Brian's as they made their way to the tower.
Kyle, another lifeguard, prepared a green whistle. Which is full of medicine to help stop pain. Brian and the wolf walked in. "My rib. Oh" The wolf whined. Kyle and Brian helped him onto a bed. The wolf sat up, rubbing the left side of his rib. Kyle handed the whistle over to him. "Here, just breathe some of this in."The wolf nodded and took the whistle. Breathing in some of the medicine. He groaned a couple of times, and eventually calmed down. A ambulance arrived to take a look.
"I spotted him. I went in and got him, he was clutching his side, complaining about his ribs." Brian explained to the medics.
"Okay." One medic said. "Will take him in. Thank you." He helped him onto a stretcher, wheeling him off.
Chapter 19
Brian sat in the tower looking through the binoculars. It was seven o'clock. The time where the beach closed. Brian walked out and hoped in the buggy. He drove to the shoreline and picked up the flags and signs, then drove them back to the garage. Then walked to the tower and grabbed the keys to his locker.
"Another good day." He said. He reached in his pocket for his phone to call Brad. Without warning he appeared behind him, which made Brian jump slightly. "Hey, so what's for dinner?" He asked. The two walked back to the car. "Berries and nuts." Brad replied. He pulled out his phone to play a game.
Mr. Roo looked in the review mirror and asked Brian how'd he like working as a lifeguard again, and if he gotten used to it. Brian smiled and replied. "I think I'm getting the hang of it."
Mr. Roo nodded. "That's good." He drove them back to his place. Brian stared out the window and sighed, then Brad tapped him on the shoulder. "Feeling homesick?" he asked. Brian nodded. "A little." Brad threw his arm around Brian's. "You just miss Alyssa don't you?"Brian nodded, then Brad pulled him in for a hug which made Brian smile.
