Chapter 20
Back at Brad's house, Mrs. Roo pulled out a blueberry pie from the oven and carefully sat it down on the counter. Brian walked in, "Mm, blueberry pie. My favorite."
Mrs. Roo chuckled, "It's always a deers favorite." She picked up a butcher knife to cut a slice and placed it on a plate. She then slid the plate over to his son for him and Brian to split. Brian took the first bite. He always enjoyed the middle piece. Brad took the rest and gobbled it up.
Lexi walked up and sat down. She reached in a plastic bag and pulled out a blueberry salad. Brian's favorite dish. She slid it over to her brother. He took a few bites and saved the rest. He then got up and walked to Brad's room. After Brad finished his dinner, he placed his plate in the sink and ran some hot water over it. He then proceed to finish the dishes.
When he was done, he walked in and sat next to Brian. He pulled him in close for a hug. "I know what'll cheer you up. A good movie, and some berries." Brian smiled. "Thanks." he followed him back out into the kitchen. Brian yawned and opened the fridge and pulled out a box of blueberries. Brad grabbed a water and a bowl, then grabbed a couple of berries for himself. They walked back to the room.
Chapter 21
Brian and Brad sat up and watched a bit of some Australian TV show that Brad loved. Brian wrote down some stuff and even began to read the lifeguard manual he picked up before leaving. Around nine-thirty, ten o'clock Brad was already asleep and so was his sister. Brian yawned as he closed the book and placed it to the side. He then went to bed.
The next morning Bondi was pretty normal. Same stuff happening just like every other day. A few rescues here and there, until something shocking would strike. At around noon, Brian was doing his normal patrol, rolling up and down the beach on his ATV. He stopped as stared into the distance at the storm clouds rolling in.
Brian rode back to the tower to let Kyke know. He said if there was lightning in the distance he would close the beach. Brian walked back out and continued his patrol. Thats when it hit.
