Bobby the night of the party.

After ensuring that Chris was asleep with Harry, May and Athena came into the living room where Bobby sat contemplating what he just saw. He knows that Buck can never do that, never. But that's what he saw, Buck was on top of Ana, but he doesn't know how that happened.

"So are we going to talk about that?" Athena says.

"No need." Bobby says dismissively.

"Okay, so what was that about you believing that Buck did sexually assault Ana?" Athena crosses her arms while May silently goes to the kitchen.

"I only said that in the heat of the moment and based on what I saw. But now thinking about it, Buck would never do that. So the question now is…"

"What really happened in that room." Athena finishes then glancing back to May who was looking distantly. "And May, as much as possible, I think it would be wise that you don't mention any of this to Maddie until we know for sure."

"But aren't you going to report it? It's your job, professional integrity right?" May questions, Bobby looks at Athena, her face just blanked out. He hadn't thought about the fact as an officer she would have to report the matter.

"I know May, but still I need to talk to Buck. That boy has been through too much. I'm scared what will happen if officers come and arrest him as I won't be allowed to be a part of it." Athena explains and looks at Bobby.

"I should have known. But it's the job right? Just… Let me be the one to tell him what's coming." Bobby says, making Athena nod.

Bobby at the firehouse

After listening to what Buck had just said, it solidified only what he just knew, that Buck would never do something like that ever. So according to him, it was Ana who forced herself on him…

"But why?" Bobby asks and both Hen and Chim also look at Buck.

"I-I don't know Bobby… But all I know is that she leaned in on me when Eddie was knocking at the door."

Bobby wondered if Eddie had something to do with this, but what exactly? Nevertheless, he needs to tell Buck what's coming.

"Buck, I also need to tell you something." Bobby says grimly, "An officer was present on that scene, Athena, and in due course, she has to report the incident…" Buck closes his eyes and breaths out loudly shaking his head.

"And me and Athena wanted to warn you that there might be police coming by to question you and her later."

"Great… Just great." Buck sighs defeated.

"Hey. Don't worry. Whatever the case may be, it won't turn into a full-blown lawsuit." Bobby says and immediately regrets saying that as he might not know how court proceedings go in terms of sexual assault.

"DON'T WORRY?!" Buck shouts but then lowers his voice as a load of other firefighters look over "You're not the one who is going to be public enemy number one for something I didn't do. What will people say when they hear about it eh? They will believe her, all it takes is a comparison between me and her and they will believe her…"

Before Buck could finish the alarm was ringing and he jumped up heading to grab his gear.

Buck P.O.V

"Buck..." Hen starts

"We have a job to do, let's go do it." Buck brushes her off. He just wanted to be kept busy to forget the whole thing right now. With a nod she lets him continue to grab his gear before they made their way to the trucks.

The drive was making Buck feel anxious as his thoughts started to run away with the possibility he may be locked up. The stories of how other prisoners treated sex offenders were well known and that's something that made Buck shiver. The one thing that hurt the most was the fact that Eddie, his best friend and secret love of his life, now thought he was capable of such horrible things as well as the possibility of never seeing Chris again.

"You alright?" Bobby's voice cuts through the thoughts and Buck looks up.

"Yeah, just thinking."

"I get that, but I need you on your A-game. We have a multi-car pile up, we are meeting station 128 to help with chaos." Bobby explains

"That's fine cap, what are the details?" Buck questions in hopes he can use that to focus on.

"Dispatch explained there are at least fifteen cars but unknown at present how many victims so a case of assessing and splitting the jobs, we will arrive before the other team." Bobby explains.

Buck nods and starts mentally going over triage training in his head, he knew there would be victims that had whiplash so how to treat them and keep their necks secure, other scenarios could be pinned legs, cuts, broken bones. Going through this kept his mind off the other things till the truck came to a halt and Buck looked up. There were cars piled up and some were already on fire.

"Let's go, we need to assess and tame those fires, Buck goes with Hen and Chim, see what we're dealing with, Chambers and Jordan. I want you on hoses and get those flames down on the cars over there." Bobby's voice echoed over the area.

Looking around Buck spots Chim and Hen carrying their gear from the ambulance and makes his way to meet them.

"Where shall we start?" Chim asks

"The best thing to do right now is to divide and conquer, here Buck take a medical bag if it's minor; cuts and bruises, whiplash, mark it with a 1, if its medium injury; pinned leg, fractured bones, a 2 and major; possible spinal, extreme blood loss, a 3." Hen explains.

"Will do." Buck replies by taking a medical bag.

They all start making their way over to the wreck checking on victims. Buck starts looking at cars. His first victim is a man with just mild whiplash so marks with a 1 and explains someone will be with him soon. As he approaches the next one he sees the woman, she's bleeding at the head. Her long brown hair reminds him of Ana. He wants to go over and help but he can't seem to move. He was frozen in place, his body refusing to move or respond to anything his mind tells it to do.

'What if she thinks I'm touching her inappropriately. I can't face another accusation.'

"Hey Buck, I got this one you go help Chim he has a man class 3. He needs to get out now so go, I got this." Hen says placing a hand on his shoulder.

"T..thanks."

"I get it, we can talk later, now go help Chim." Hen says assessing the woman.

Buck wanders over and helps Chim. They get the man out of the car, the other fire crew arrives and the whole situation is speeded up. Within a few hours, the people were all out and the cars dealt with. Buck sits on the front of the firetruck just to have five minutes taking off his helmet and placing it to the side. It had been nonstop since they arrived. Hen and Chim had taken a critical patient to the hospital so he was left alone as Bobby was talking to the other fire Captain.

Head down, Buck was thinking back to what happened earlier. He froze on a patient just because they looked like Ana. He needed to get his head straight, this can't keep happening…

'Are you an idiot?'

"I'm not…" Buck whispers.

'Then why would you risk yourself being framed again?'

"Because I have a job!" Buck hisses.

'If that's so, why did you take another Faundicity pill earlier? I thought you had a job that requires everyone to be in their best shape. And you? Are not…'

"Shut up!" Buck shouts in a whisper as he clutches his head, bearing his mind to stop festering, but it wouldn't stop.

"Hey there. Are you okay?" A woman's voice asked

Buck turned to see a young blonde woman looking at him with a smile. She wore one of those spaghetti strapped shirts that showed their cleavage. She had brown eyes paired with thick lips and makeup. She was wearing jorts that were a little bit higher than Buck would have wanted it to be as the hemline was just below her upper thigh. Honestly, she could be mistaken as another pin-up girl...

What the hell was he thinking about?

"Err, I am. Thank you for asking." Buck says prudently as he did not want to be in a situation where this woman would suddenly accuse him of being disrespectful.

"Well, that's good to know. So…" The woman says looking bashful before looking up to meet Buck's eyes, "I saw how brave and handy you were earlier with those cars, mind if I get your number? My car might break down anytime soon and I would need someone handy with them."

"No, you can't." Buck bit out. Was this girl picking him up? Oh hell no!

"Why not? We could have some fun." The lady says seductively as she walks closer to Buck.

Buck started to move so he could get away but then thought how would that look, the tightness in his chest was getting worse.

"I'm not interested, sorry." Buck states trying to figure which way to move.

"Oh come on, I'm hot and you know it, what's the worst that could happen?" she says leaning in, her arm going to touch Buck.

'No, no, no, no. Not like this.' His mind screams to him that he should just run, as far as possible.

'But where?'

"Ma'am, can I help you?" Bobby's unpleasant tone rings round.

"Oh, I was…" she starts as she tries to stand upright.

"Interfering with a firefighter who is working. Why don't you leave us to work instead of impeding my firefighter." Bobby sternly says, crossing his arms.

Buck looks and sees the girl has gone red and was going to say something until Bobby's facial expression changed, the look he gave when he was unimpressed with someone and she turned and walked off.

"You ok kid?" Bobby asks, striding towards him a look of concern painted on his face.

"Yeah. Thanks for that." Buck replies letting out a huge breath out. Bobby noticed this and sat next to him on the ground.

"Anytime. I know it must be hard and you're most likely doubting every move you make now, but don't let that happen because that's how people get injured or worse. When on the job, we are a team and will support you, no matter what. Got it?" Bobby asks looking at Buck and he just nods, "Come on, let's head back and I'm cooking, I'm guessing you haven't eaten properly?" Bobby explains.

"Not really, with everything that's been going on-" Buck explains not admitting to the drinking or drugs, he couldn't face the disappointed look Bobby would give him.

"Then let's go and eat." Bobby smiles.

During the drive back Buck could tell Bobby was trying to keep his mind off the Ana situation, talking far more than normal, but it helped and he was thankful Bobby was there. Once they arrived back, Buck quickly changed and headed up rearing to help Bobby. While they cooked Hen and Chim arrived back and they fell into their old routine of banter and jokes, Buck could tell Eddie was missing but he knew if Eddie was here it would be awkward.

The rest of the shift goes from calm to manic in an instant when call after call comes in keeping Buck and the rest of the team busy, before long they come back two hours over when their shifts ended and they were all tired.

"I think I need a long soak and then sleep." Hen says looking like life had left her, leaving her sagging on the sofa.

"Add some tequila." Chim says, raising his hand while he had his head down on the table where he was sitting.

"Good luck with that." Buck jokes while he himself tries to stand up opposite of Chim despite his entire body screaming at him to lie down somewhere and sleep.

"Yeah, Maddie won't let you have a bath just in case your child arrives." Hen quims her head still down.

"I hate you both." Chim says in a whisper, his raspy voice speaking volumes of how tired he is.

"What do you have planned, Buck?" Bobby asks

"To be honest, shower and sleep. I'm drained plus we have tomorrow to deal with." Buck blankly states, he knew it was going to be hard, Eddie would most likely be in and out of a foul mood especially after Ana has had a day to twist more things.

"It will be fine, we'll talk with him, make the stubborn pendejo see sense." Hen says while trying to mimic Eddie's accent whenever he says that word which makes everyone, especially Buck giggle.

"Yeah, maybe, anyway I'm going to head home." Buck says finally standing up.

Quickly grabbing his stuff he heads off home. Arriving at his apartment, he looks at his phone to see a few messages off Taylor asking if he is ok. He replies that he was and he just got off his shift before heading up for a shower. Once clean and feeling fresh, Buck grabs his phone and sees that Taylor had called, giving her a quick call as he makes a hot chocolate drink.

"Hey." he starts.

"Hey, how was your day? Did it go ok?" Taylor asks

"Yeah, they believed me, I explained everything that happened and they are on my side. I just gotta deal with Eddie tomorrow, but I'm so tired so I'm going to make a drink then go to bed."

"Drink?" Taylor's questioning voice makes Buck chuckled, "What kind of drink?"

"Hot chocolate with no booze I promise, I just want to drink this and sleep, it was a long long day."

They fall into an idle chat about each other's days whilst drinking his drink and after thirty minutes Buck says his goodbyes.

Heading to bed he finds himself nodding off quicker than anything, his achy muscles a reminder of just how long a day it had been.

Buck didn't sleep much that night. He tossed and turned, the memories from the party a constant replay on his mind, when his alarm went off he could feel something hit him. It wasn't tiredness, but he was wary of the feeling of trepidation. It was going to be a tough day, he knew Eddie would be in as he couldn't see Eddie hiding away from work, which meant Eddie would be telling the team all the stuff Ana had dripped into his ear over the past 24 hours.

His mind switches to autopilot as he gets ready and before he knows it he's sitting in the loft with Hen and Chim all over them watching the entrance. Buck was leaning over the balcony loft, Hen and Chim were on the sofa behind Buck.

"Maybe he won't come in." Chim says breaking the silence.

"Cap, would have said something, how are you holding up Buck?" Hen asks.

"Not good if I'm honest. The last time I saw Eddie was when his fist was flying at my face." Buck says pointing to the shiner under his eye.

"I mean yeah that's going to be awkward, but we're here for you. I can't see Eddie starting, especially if we are around, to which we made a pact that we will be." Hen says with a soft smile.

Then they saw him. If anything Buck should be elated that he saw Eddie, but then the party just made it sour. Eddie immediately stops halfway when he looks up and sees Buck looking at him. Buck immediately looked away when he saw Eddie's face suddenly flare-up. Next, they heard the steps of one agitated Eddie Diaz.

"You have some balls to show up." Eddie coldly says when he was standing in front of Buck who stared back into Eddie's fiery eyes.

Buck then sees Hen stand up while Chim was looking on intently, "Hey now, Eddie. Firstly welcome ba-"

"Well, you want to explain yourself or what?" Eddie's abrupt snarl made Hen stop and Buck flinch a bit.

"Diaz. Office. Now." Bobby's commanding voice suddenly was heard from behind them and he appeared a second later in Buck's vision. Bobby cocked his head towards his office and Eddie glanced once back at Buck then walked off to Bobby's office.

"I'll be right back." Bobby says, giving Buck a reassuring pat on the back.

"Well, that's how today is going to be. Maybe I should go." Buck mutters out.

"Oh nuh-uh, you ain't goin nowhere." Hen says.

"But how can we work as a team when we have such a divide and let's face it when he hears you all believe me he's going to be angry as hell." Buck says he knew how bad Eddie's temper could get and the last thing they all needed is Eddie lashing out again.

"We will, at the end of the day it's a job first if he can't keep his emotions in check because of something that happened outside of the station then that's on him, not you." Chim says

"So wise, Mr. Han." Hen jokes "But he is right, Buck."

"Excuse me, what was that?" Chim jokes and Buck laughs.

After several minutes, they see Eddie walk to the locker rooms glancing at them and then the sound of Bobby walking up the stairs and Buck could tell instantly there were strong words said in the office, Bobby's face was flushed and looked stern.

"How did it go cap?" Chim asks.

"It went the way we thought it would. I don't want to go into it right now, but he has agreed to work as a professional. I explained that we heard Buck out and believe him, but that didn't go so well." Bobby says and Buck feels guilty his friends were being dragged into this.

"I should rea-"

"Don't you dare finish that sentence. I have stated that while working here you all work as a team and are professionals, if you can't do that then go now. Eddie has agreed to be professional so I expect the same from you all please." Bobby sternly says.

"Fine, but Imma have words with him later" Hen states.

"Hen, I think it would be better..." Bobby starts.

"Oh nuh-uh. Eddie needs to be told what really happened and that he's being played with. And I'm pretty sure with all their free time yesterday Ana had spun up some more bull to feed it to Eddie. Look where that got him." Hen says pointing at Buck's face.

"I get that you are angry Hen, but for me can we just work professionally and get the day done." Buck pleads this day was going to be hard enough as it was.

"Fine" Hen huffs out.

"Plus we don't have any solid evidence to show him and Eddie is more of an evidence kind of guy." Chim pipes up then was suddenly conscious of Buck, "Not that we don't believe you, because we do."

Bobby moves to the kitchen and starts to prep the breakfast and Buck moves to help, he falls into his usual chirpy self whilst helping Bobby. It all changes as the sound of someone walking up the stairs makes him look, his eyes meet Eddie's and Buck could swear he sees Eddie flinch as his eyes land on no doubt the black eye. Eddie shakes his head and walks over to the far side of the loft ignoring Hen and Chim's greetings.

Buck felt guilty that the team was split and it was all his fault, again.

'Take another pill.'

His thoughts were taken away when the alarm rings and they run out. This was going to be the first test if they could be professional. They arrive on the call and Bobby splits them up making sure Buck goes with Hen and Chim with Eddie. Buck silently thanks Bobby and they get to work on the multi-story fire.

Once extinguished they start to roll back to the firehouse before another call comes in and they head off to deal with it. Several calls later they finally head back and quickly jump out, Buck connects the fuel and water to the truck to refill it plus it was an excuse to avoid Eddie. He sits down on the floor next to the truck and looks at his phone.

TAYLOR: 'How are you? Did Eddie turn up?'

BUCK: 'Yeah he turned up, pissed when he saw me, but Bobby spoke to him and we all have to be professional whilst working. And to make matters worse as he's here and not even speaking to anyone. I'd rather have the shouty Eddie than a silent one, hope your day is going well?'

"You ok?" Hen's voice pulls him up from his phone.

"Yeah."

"So why are you hiding down here, you know the pipes automatically cut off once the rig is full, so there's no need to stay and guard it. Or is it to avoid you know who?"

"Mainly yeah, I just can't take the silence. I'd rather have him shout at me, throw at me what lies she has spun him so I can try and put my side to him."

"I get that Buck, give it time."

"Well, I'm sure I'll have plenty of that when I get locked up."

"You won't get locked up."

"Who said the q word? I swear to god if we...~!" Chim shouts as the alarm goes off making Buck and Hen laugh.

"Welp, we better get to it." Hen says helping Buck get up.

The shift goes mad after that, call after call, and no time to relax or think, which Buck didn't mind as it kept him off thinking about everything going on. As they pulled in they all knew it was home time, and Buck watched as Eddie darted out and went to the locker room and started getting changed, and by the time Buck and Chim had hung their turncoats up Eddie was walking past them.

"That was quick?" Chim questioned.

"Abuela has Chris, and has an appointment so I need to get home." Eddie mutters out before carrying on out.

"Bye then." Chim snarks out but Buck watches as Eddie carries on.

Buck changes himself and falls into talks about games and then they all head off to their homes. Buck continues to think about the day and his anxiety starts to build up. He needed to calm down and there was only one way he could think of.

It disgusted him to even think about it. But right now, he couldn't care less. Pulling over the messages the guy he met at the bar and arranges to collect some more pills. He knew he shouldn't but he needed to take the edge off before it got worse.

Once an address was texted to him, he deletes the message, made his way there, and got the pills. No real interaction, just money swapped and drugs passed.

Upon getting in his car, he eyes the green pills once more. His mind suddenly festered, fighting between taking one right now or not.

'Take one now! It'll all be better after.'

'No! Don't do it, you're smarter than this Evan pull yourself together!'

'Can you really? You have got to be an idiot. Just take one and everything will go away!'

After minutes of debating, his decision was just to forget everything and move on. He knew that this won't do anything but he needed an escape.

Buck makes it home after three hours of him lazing around his car in the middle of an empty parking lot. He places the drugs on the side as he gets something to eat out. Now he was home he felt calmer, looking back at the counter he could see the pills but knew he didn't need them right now at least so he places them in the drawer before sitting down to eat whilst watching a film.

His phone rings and it's Tayor, he quickly answers and they fall into a long talk about their day. Buck enjoyed having someone who wanted to talk, she had already friend-zoned him as she knew where his heart lied even after all this he still loved Eddie, but knew he may not be able to forgive him. But then on the flip side, if he was in Eddie's shoes, he would probably react the same way. Ana had played them both and Eddie, God bless him wasn't one to think. Hanging up from Taylor after two hours Buck wandered to the kitchen and cleaned his dish before settling down to watch the tv, it was just after 11 pm so too late to watch another film as he was on the 7 am start so wouldn't get a good sleep so started to binge-watch.

As 11:30 pm hit he decided to head to bed. Wandering up to his bedroom his phone got a notification and saw a text from Eddie. Dread filled him up as he opened the text.

ED'S: 'Buck, I'm sending this as I do not want to talk to you or see you outside of work. You have destroyed our friendship and my trust. I wish you would do the right thing and just leave. I don't want you anywhere near me or my son ever again so do the right thing and leave, after all, you caused all this. You are a walking disaster.'

Buck fell to his knees, he couldn't believe what he read. There were so many thoughts running through his mind. Mostly were why's and what's.

'You still have a lot of pills right?'

That's right! Buck saunters to the drawer where he left the rest of the pills, and he quickly grabs some whiskey. After twenty minutes all feelings had gone and Buck found himself alone in his apartment.

The buzzing of his alarm makes Buck wake, he was in his bed his head pounding he slowly stirs and sits up. He can't remember much from last night but at least he knows he was in his apartment. He gets up and showers making sure the smell of whiskey had been washed off completely. Once done he heads down and makes a strong coffee his head thumping away, he knew work was going to be horrid but also knew Eddie wouldn't acknowledge the text as it was outside of work and they had been told to be professionals. He couldn't show Hen or Chim or Bobby because he wasn't sure what they would do if he did.

As he climbs into his uber and deems himself way over the limit it travels to the station. Buck's mind leads to how the day will play out, just another day of silence. The uber pulls up and Buck walks in and gets changed, when he gets to the top of the loft he sees Eddie in the far corner talking to other firefighters, Hen, Chim and Bobby are by the kitchen so he walks to them.

"Guess he is still not talking to you guys?" Buck questions.

"No, but I'm speaking to him today, I know cap you said not to but that man needs telling." Hen says.

"Athena, what are you doing here?" Bobby's voice changes and everyone looks over.

"My job." She says as 4 officers and a detective follow behind her.

"What's with the officers and detectives?" Buck questions.

"Evan?" The detective asks.

"Yes." Buck replies his anxiety rising.

"Evan Buckley, I'm detective Carter, You're under arrest on suspicion of sexual assault in Ana Flores last Saturday. You have the right to remain silent anything you say will be given in evidence, do you understand?" the detective says.

Before Buck answers, he could feel his arms being forced behind and cuffs being placed on him. He couldn't say anything at all. The shock and anxiety doubled immediately upon being restrained.

'This can't be happening!'

"About time." Eddie states as he walks over.

"'Thena, I'm guessing this is the other one?" The detective asks looking at Athena and she nods closing her eyes.

"Edmundo Diaz, you are also under arrest for aggravated bodily harm on Evan Buckley last Saturday, you have the right to remain silent anything you say will be given in evidence, do you understand?" the detective says.

"What?" Eddie looks surprised and so was the others, "Are you kidding me?" Eddie snaps as the police place cuffs on him. Buck can see the anger in Eddie's eyes.

They are escorted to separate police cars and Buck looks back at his team, they look distraught and now his worst fear was coming true.

He was going to be locked away. And Buck didn't know what to do.
