*I'll just drop it here*
"Why can't you just tell me what you feel, because how you act is confusing me."
- Laura Hansen
""It is better to do nothing!" He proclaimed it as fact, as he himself was alone in that place. Talking to no one, yet, talking to someone."
"I don't know you can be dramatic Wanderer." Es spoke listening to her reading. They are by the couch while the Wanderer "acted" the scenes that are in the book.
"Hmph! I had you know that I know how to act if I need to!" The Wanderer rebutted while flipping an imaginary hair.
"Sure, sure, Wanderer. I am oh so amazed by your acting skills."
"... Har, har, har. I am flattered by your words." The Wanderer replied with her own deadpanned face.
"You know, I think we should change things up a bit."
"Oh? What are you suggesting, Es?"
"It's been a little while since you took your test, so let's do one right now."
"Alright. What are we gonna do today?" She said sitting next to the girl.
"I did all the talking last time, remember?" Which the Wanderer replies with a hum of agreement, "Now it's your turn."
"Eh? Wha?"
"Tell me all the fears you usually can't disclose."
"... Is this relating to the last question?"
"Maybe, but, talking to someone quite helped me. So, maybe you can talk to me too. I'm sure it's important for you to put feelings into words, too."
"Isn't that like asking my secrets out?"
"Oh no, you can speak what you want to say with me. The more details you tell me, the better I can interpret them."
"Uh huh." The Wanderer replied uncomfortably.
"Don't worry. Your secrets are safe here with me."
"I thought I don't need to tell my secrets!?"
"I said, you can speak what you want to say." The girl repeated firmly, "Maybe I can guess that some part of your words were your secrets, after all. What's said here, stays here. I won't tell."
"... Promise…?"
"Promise. So, tell me… What's bothering you?"
"Hmmm… Well." In an instant, the Wanderer lay her head on the librarian lap and smiled at her in succession. The Wanderer could see a faint blush on the girl's face.
Playful revenge? Achieved.
"Well, I'm bothered by the fact that I met this girl that has the most beautiful deadpanned face I have seen in my entire life! I mean, look at her!" She said while gesturing to the said girl, jazzing her hands.
"Would you please stop joking around?" Es mumbled while turning her head to side before facing the Wanderer (which is on her lap) again. "What is bothering you?"
There was a good stretch of uncomfortable silence before it was broken by the Wanderer.
"... I'm a Wanderer, Es." She began, all the playfulness suddenly disappeared, "I am content with discovering both new and old things. When the world suddenly, in a sense, "stopped", the people were thrown in panic. It was thanks for the technology that people pulled through." Her eyes suddenly dimmed, "But even with able to modernized to the way it was, trouble, is still around. It always was. Even when I'm not wandering around back then. And… I'm saddened by the fact that I can't helped them, especially back then when… when…"
The word hung in the air as the Wanderer stopped, unable to continue her words.
"... It seems you're having trouble with your words, Wanderer." Es spoke up after listening to her, "If there's anything that you don't want to say yet, then I won't force it."
Sighing, the Wanderer takes a moment to collect her thoughts.
"... Well, I guess that's one of the reasons I became Wanderer then. I want to help out people to the best of my ability. I am still frustrated by the fact that many people I know are declining my help. Unfortunately because of my i… yeah, that's it."
"... Thank you for being honest with me, Wanderer."
"Thank you for listening to it." The Wanderer can't help but slowly smile at her, "I actually feel… better after that."
"... It seems you're having Physical Contemplation"
"Physical?" The Wanderer asked while unconsciously (Es noticed) holding her right side.
"I confess that it must be incredibly difficult for you if your own body is not acting as it should." The girl took a breath for a moment before continuing, "If your health is bringing you down and making you feel lonely, don't go around complaining."
"... Do you know you're the first one to say that?"
"What?"
The Wanderer on her lap chuckled before answering, "It's the opposite really. Many people asked me, or even begged me, to complain if something was wrong."
"Then am I correct to assume there is something wrong?"
Crap. "No, it's nothing to worry about."
"You know, people who always say that are the people who actually need to be worried about."
Another stretching silence followed but this time, the girl decided to speak first.
"Just come to me, instead." She said, "Tell me your woes if you want to. Though, I'm afraid I won't be able to make a soothing cup of tea."
"... Heh, it's alright. I'm more of a fan of coffee than tea anyway."
"Coffee? Alright. How does it feel to get it all off your chest? Better?"
The Wanderer thinks for a moment. "It… really does. Better than before honestly."
"Baring your thoughts to another can help to get them in order."
"It does help you, being the first to open up at all.
"That's how it was for me, anyway. As you see the result." Es said gesturing to the Wanderer.
"Yeah, thanks to you."
The librarian stares at the Wanderer, as if observing her. Which makes our Wanderer uncomfortable.
"I think… I'm close to an answer."
"Oh? Is your answer in my face?" Jokingly says the Wanderer.
"If I can just come up with my own answer… I'll… be alright." Es replies, ignoring the joke.
This makes the Wanderer frowned.
"Es?"
Then the girl suddenly stands, which makes the Wanderer fall to the floor.
"Agh!" The Wanderer quickly stands up facing Es. "Ow?! What's wrong, Es!?"
"Come back… when you have some more EGO." The girl said as she walked back to her counter.
"Hey! Would you not ignore me!?"
But her words seem to fall on deaf ears as the librarian goes back to her book.
"Hey!"
"Come Wanderer."
And the said woman stopped dead on her track, her eyes wide from the sudden voice she heard.
Ego Rex?
"My child, come."
Hesitantly, the Wanderer calls out.
"Es. I'll be at the hall. I think we… you... need a time. I'll… see you soon."
The last thing the Wanderer noted before leaving is the librarian murmuring something.
