"There must be something, dear," Flurrie said as she floated next to Koops, who was shaking his head.
"I keep telling you. I didn't do any extra curricular stuff. I did some self-defense classes and that was it. the rest was photography and digital arts."
"Come on, Koops," Goombella bumped, "We know you got something."
Koops sighed. "Look the most physical activity I did was in high school. PE class. You know."
"But there was nothing you would do at home?" Flurrie asked.
"Other than go outside and take pictures of flowers and fields all day? No," Koops replied, "I keep telling you guys I just wanted to be a photographer. Or a camera man in those big films! Or maybe I'll do interviews or take photos for newspapers, shoot for sports events. Or even the Glitzpit! It's all I ever thought about. You guys might watch a movie and pay attention to the story… I watch a movie and I'm trying to figure out what trick they used to get the shot. And what mic did they have to capture sound?"
The girls sighed. Koops kept nervously gripping his camera bag. Mario looked back and gave Koops a look that started lowering his defenses. The girls were giving up, but Mario could tell Koops wasn't telling the whole story. Mario stopped walking and then everyone stopped. He crossed his arms and gave Koops another soft considerate smile.
Flurrie noticed Koops's softening defenses then asked, "Are you sure there was nothing else? You had to record something, yes?"
Koops sighed and looked down. "…There was this break dance group…" The girls' faces immediately lit up. "… I loved the way they danced. It was so robotic and smooth. They're moves were so controlled and deliberate that I watched a few tutorials and… I got pretty good."
"Koops that's perfect!" Goombella exclaimed. "Come on, show us what you got!"
"N-n-now?!" Koops stuttered.
"Yes, now!" Goombella replied, tugging at his camera bag. "Take this off and let's get some music then let's see what you got."
"N-no, I can't! Oh, golly, there's so many people watching!" Koops said in a nervous wreck.
"Darling don't pay them any mind they aren't worried about you. Come now, I'll hold this…" She swiped the computer bag then looked at Mario who was doing something on his mailbox SP.
"Please, I can't!" Koops begged.
"Koops, I had to do my thing in front of a lot of people. Now you gotta face your fears and do the same. You can do this."
"Goombella, come on, you at least…" Mario started playing some music, perfect for Koops's style of dancing then started moving to it. He handed the mailbox SP to Flurrie and started picking up movement. Once the beat dropped Mario started up his own dance. Koops, Flurrie, and Goombella all watched in amazement as his timing and movement matched the song so well. Flurrie turned up the music and Mario went all in. He moved so skillfully and hypnotically that a crowd started to build. They all recognized the Great Gonzales one way or another, but some were just learning.
Koops sighed again as the crowed started to sway along with Mario's movements and song. Goombella jumped in a bit of a dance and Flurrie shuffled back and forth with the tempo. Soon it hit a bit of a reprieve and Flurrie and Goombella were cheering Koops on. Mario was beckoning him to join him, and the song started to build back up. The crowd joined in on the cheering and Koops finally gave in with a final sigh and walked in the middle with Mario then rolled forward next him making the crowed go crazy. Both knew the song well. They knew the dance. Mario was the one who basically choreographed it. And Koops knew how to emulate it. Immediately they started dancing in sync.
The crowed went crazy as Mario and Koops rolled, spun and windmilled in different ways. The crowed had been so impressed they were taking video of everything. Something Flurrie had taken the liberty of doing as soon as she got Koops's bag from him. Soon the song hit another quick reprieve allowing Mario an exit and letting Koops take the solo. The song was nearing its end, but Koops had this part memorized from his last personal choreography of the song's final half. He emulated it by heart, not even having to think of it and finished with an impressive spin on his head.
The crowd cheered and Koops finished on his feet. Mario and Koops clasped hands and shared a laugh then ran back to Goombella and Flurrie.
"How did we look?" Koops asked.
"See for yourself," Flurrie replied as she showed him the recording.
Despite the consistent moving around since Flurrie had been swaying, they got a good view of Koops running in and rolling next to Mario then break out into a synced dance like they had rehearsed the dance before. Seeing the recording made Koops bashful. "I guess it could have been better.
"Are you kidding?" Goombella exclaimed, "It was great! The people loved it! And now people will recognize us when they watch the fights! Koops… We got something now. Now let's get some rest for tomorrow and get ready for the fight. Tomorrow, we break out the good stuff." Everyone agreed, however reluctant some of them were, and they returned to the locker room to get some rest.
