Callan Motte

Ralph sat watching the Cows as Paige and Walter skimmed stones across the water. He'd been trying to convince them to marry sooner and was upset to hear that Walter was already Married to Happy.

He understood the logical reasons for Walter to have Married Happy but he couldn't help feeling upset that he'd have to wait so long before Walter could adopt him and for him and his Mum to become O'Briens.

He'd found it hilarious when Slyvester had told him that Happy had wrote Walter a letter for Walter to provide as evidence that she'd not slept with him at any point in their Marriage so that Walter could petition the Church for an annulment and potentially get permission to Marry at the local church that Walter's parents had married at. Though Slyvester had told Ralph that Walter did hold out much hope for the Father to allow them to Marry there.

Ralph hoped they could, he could tell that even though Walter insisted he wasn't bothered either way he desperately wanted to hold on to familial links where he could.

It was the one thing he couldn't understand with Walter. He insisted that trinkets and talismans were a sign of weakness but he had a hidden box of such items. He had scoffed at the idea of love but had fallen harder for Ralph's Mum harder then any man his mum has ever dated. He'd declared that traditions were pointless but then had acquired a family heirloom to give to Paige as a promise ring and was speaking to the Father of the local church basically begging for permission to Marry at the same place the majority of his Family had. Ralph understood Walter better then anyone. But he didn't understand why Walter often refused to acknowledge this part of himself.

He smiled as Walter and his Mother kissed. It had been a long road but they were finally at the home stretch.

Soon they'd be a proper family.

The Garage

"You want to make a bet?" Toby pestered Happy. She rolled her eyes. "Dude you have a serious problem...what's the bet?" Toby grinned like a Cheshire cat "On how long until theres an announcement about a little Baby Waige" Happy shook her head "No that's just ridiculous" she said "I'll make a bet on Walt's reaction though" Toby grinned "You're on" Toby replied "I'm betting 50 bucks on him passing out".

O'Brien Farm

It was the last evening of Slyvester's visit. He shivered in the cold air as he watched the sunset. Part of him wished he could stay in Ireland. He felt closer to Megan here and enjoyed the company of Walter's Family- his Family.

He knew he couldn't stay here though, what use would there be here for a mathematician? He was much better off staying with Scorpion. He hoped he could encourage Walter to visit again soon. The way things were going with Paige it seemed likely they would.

He smiled as he thought of how grateful he was to Walter for giving him a purpose and a family. For saving his life and inadvertently helping him find love with Megan. Slyvester was happy Walter finally had a chance to feel happiness like he had with Megan. After everything Walter had done for the team he deserved to find love.

O'Brien kitchen

Louise smiled as Ralph set the table. He was such a polite little boy and had been helping her make a special dinner for Slyvester's final day there.

She was suprised to find he was so adept at cooking and moreso when she found out that her Walter, who had shown no interest in cooking as a child, had shown him how to make several of his favourite home cooked meals when he was caring for him.

Her eyes had watered when Ralph recounted Walter once telling him how no one could beat his mother's home cooked meals. It made her so happy to know that, even if he had made little indication at the time, Walter appreciated her.

Her son's visit had been an emotional roller coaster for her but Louise was so happy that Walter had formed such a wonderful family with Scorpion. After speaking to his Wife the other day she understood better how Walter had found himself Married and why he'd failed to tell her and Sean. She hoped that given time her relationship with her Son would continue to improve.

As she called everyone to dinner Louise felt a sudden sadness that she wouldn't have this every day and that eventually her son and his little family will also be returning to America. She'd have to make the most of it while she could.
