A/N I had this written before I posted the last chapter of Amber lol. I've got plans for the next chapter too that I've been dying to tell you buy didn't want to spoil the suprise. I hope you enjoy
Observation Deck
"Uh Walter are you OK?" Paige asked concerned. He'd only been out for less then a minute but it still took him a little time to get his barings. His face turned slightly red when he realised what had happened "Oh god that's embarrassing" he muttered to himself. Sitting up he felt around for the box he planned to present to Paige, relieved when he found it beside himself and not overboard as he feared.
Praying that his nerves wouldn't get the best of him again, Walter positioned himself on one knee and tried once more.
"P-p-paige from the moment I saw you I fell for you. I spent so much time denying the existence of romantic love because I was terrified of the depth of my feelings for you. I'm drawn to you like a satellite- you are my whole world and I'm just the moon that orbits around you" he said with a vague feeling of déjà vu.
"Erwin Schrodinger, the father of quantum mechanics once told a story about how he loved his wife- now love made no scientific sense to him, he couldn't explain the bond but he said when they stared into each others eyes, their consciousness mathematically identical because that's when love made sense to him. I love you from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep but when I look into your eyes and see the way you feel for me too it makes me feel like I could give up everything else and it'd still be perfect if I could have you and Ralph in my life." He shakily opened the box holding it upwards "I love you both more then anything else- please Paige will you Marry me?" He asked nervously.
Paige smiled at Walter vaguely aware of the photos being taken by Cliff "Only you could mention Quantum mechanics in a proposal and make it absolutely perfect." She chuckled "Of course I'll Marry you!" As Walter slipped the engagement ring onto her finger she smiled, her eyes filling with tears as she tried to memorise this perfect moment.
The second he stood up she gave him a kiss that took his breath away. Ralph ran into their arms crying loudly with joy, they hugged each other tightly tears rolling down all their faces.
They made their way smiling down back to the top deck for celebrety Champagne for Paige the team and Apple soda for Walter and Ralph. Walter grinned as Ralph Hi-fived him.
Now he just had to get through the wedding.
The Ship heading towards Ireland
Contrary to popular belief Tim wasn't a idiot. He knew that if he stayed where he was until he reached Dublin he'd be caught the second he'd exited the Ship.
Utilitising the crewman he had help from before he secured a lifeboat to get him far enough away that he could catch a ship going to a different port. It didn't take as long as he thought it would to gain access to a passing Ship. Hiding himself away he smiled as he realised the direction he was heading. The Port of Cork was closer to where he needed to be. He grinned as he thought of how he'd make Walter pay. Though he tried to hide it, nothing meant more to the man then family.
O'Brien house
Louise paced back and forth apprehensively waiting for new from her beloved son. She knew he'd planned to propose today but he'd not given any indication of when. She wrung the tea towel in her hands and muttered to herself. She'd spent much of the day praying for her Son that Paige would accept his proposal.
Sean and Cabe had tried to distract her, but the truth was they were just as anxious as she was. This was a big step in Walter's life, and he did have a bit of a reputation screwing things up when it involved EQ.
Finally when they felt like they all couldn't take anymore waiting their phones all recieved a notification. Ralph had sent them a photo of a digital camera screen- the picture showing Walter sliding a ring upon Paige's dainty finger. Alongside a short message that made them all chuckle "he only passed out once"
The three adults cheered and hugged each other, proud that Walter had taken a leap of faith and was heading towards the next step to having his own little family. When Conner walked through the door she cheerily told him the news, momentarily forgetting his feelings towards Walter were why he was there in the first place. He smiled fakely and feigned a headache heading to his place in the spare room to lick his wounds in solitude while the others headed to The Steppes Bar to celebrate Walter and Paige's engagement.
