"I never thought I'd need to be Baptised in order to get Married." Paige admitted scrolling through the requirements on her laptop "A confirmation name? What's a confirmation name?" She asked. "It is said to secure a additional Patron Saint as a patron and guide- all hokum if you ask me" replied Walter from the bed. All the stress of getting through the proposal had tired him out- he prayed he wouldn't be like this on his wedding day- he had plans damnit!
"There's a lot of Seans in your family- let me guess your Confirmation name is Sean?" Paige asked chuckling.
"The Saint of Gardeners? No I'm a Patrick-named for the primary patron of Ireland. its also my legal middle name" Walter replied seriously.
Paige looked at him suprised. She had known Patrick was his middle name but she couldn't imagine him being called anything other then Walter- especially Patrick. It just seemed...odd.
"Of course" Walter continued "There was also a French Saint- Walter of Pontoise. He was a professor of Philosophy and Rheutoric who took pity on a prisoner in a monastery and helped him escape. I'm not legally named after him though, I'm named after..." he cringed "...Walter Elias Disney" Paige looked at him in shock "WALT DISNEY?!" She exclaimed. Walter looked around in panic "Shhh! Shhh! I don't want anyone to know" he whispered earnestly sitting up in a panic to ensure Ralph wasn't paying attention. Paige smiled at him, motioning a zip across her face "It'll be our little secret" she replied.
She closed the laptop and looked towards Ralph who had his headphones on playing a game on Walter's tablet. He'd be zoned out for ages. Now was the perfect time to snuggle up to her new fiancé. She smiled as she approached him kissing him gently as she lowered herself onto the bed. Walter sighed in contentment as he wrapped himself around her in a full body hug. For a person that disliked touch he'd grown to crave hers over the time they'd known each other.
Cork
Tim wasn't pleased. He'd not realised how long it'd take for the 717 bus to get to Callan. He wasn't prepared to wait 4 hours to enact his vengeance when he could get there in an hour and a half by car. However he knew he'd not be able to rent a car when he was currently a fugitive. He thought about getting a taxi but that would require phoning up or stepping into a taxi office both risking revealing his identity as would a train station.
Tim frowned as he realised his only other option was to hotwire a car and just pray it wasn't noticed until he was safely far enough away. Picking the most common looking car her could find Tim looks around for witnesses before smashing the drivers side window and letting himself in.
O'Brien House
Conner curled up miserably on the bed. Walter was now a husband-to-be. He knew he had no hope with the other man before but it didn't mean it hurt any less.
Ralph's comment before they left stung as well- Walter thought of him like a brother. At least before knowing that Walter is Bi-sexual he had some hope that Walter would at least find him somewhat attractive even if Walter never act on it- knowing that Walter thought of him like a brother killed that hope.
He'd had enough of today he decided. He would get some sleep and pray that tommorow would be better. Taking a couple of his sleeping pills from the bedside table and chugging down the water beside them he then curled up under the covers and waited for sleep to take him.
The O'Brien Farm
It didn't take Tim long to locate what he was after. The O'Brien Farm had lots of heavy machinery and they all ran off red diesel. Tim grinned as he entered another of the barns locating pleanty of accelerants.
Gathering everything he needed he started with the barn he was in before moving onto the Cows shed, and then smashing the kitchen window before throwing a couple of molotov cocktails into the house.
Admiring his work for a moment he watched as the O'Brien Legacy burn. Now on the final barn he took his time setting little fires on the hay inside watching it slowly build up.
Walking backwards slightly as he smiled at the destruction he tripped over a shovel. flailing his arms about trying to get purchase on something as he fell he managed to grab hold of a tool shelf, which unfortunately for Tim wasn't able to support his weight. As he fell to the ground the shelf went with him-tools included, knocking him out as he hit the floor.
Next Door
Thomas pulled a can of Larger from the fridge. Opening it he went to take a gulp when he smelled the smoke. Confused for a second he walked though the house wondering where it was coming from before spotting a flickering light through the frosted glass window of the bathroom.
O'Brien House
Rushing out he realised that what had seemed light a flickering light bulb was actually the tongues of a huge fire. Tearing towards the house he called 999 shouting down the phone for the fire brigade and ambulance service. Barging through the doors he checked each room he was able for any of the O'Brien family and friends screaming out for anyone to answer him.
Finally reaching the spare room he spotted his brother curled up on the bed black from the smoke that filled the house. He tried desperately to wake him up but between the sleeping medication and the smoke inhalation he just wasn't budging.
Picking conner up to carry him in a fireman's hold was difficult as he was a dead weight by this point but he needed to fight to get his brother out safely. No matter what he thought of him he still loved him. He was struggling to breathe with the thick black smoke and the burns were hell but he pushed through as much as he could. His eyes shut against his will and he was about to collapse when strong arms grasped him and another person pulled conner to them. Fighting to stay conscious he noticed Sean had hold of him while Cabe cleared the exit way while holding onto Conner.
Sirens sounded in the distance as they finally got out the door. They moved a safe distance away before Sean and Cabe were able to settle the brothers on the ground carefully. Louise desperately motioned for the Paramedics to come over to where they were.
There'd be time to mourn the loss of the Farm- of their livelihood soon enough. Right now the most important thing was that Thomas and Conner were taken care of.
