Sam was sitting in front of her vanity brushing out after taking a much-needed shower. Sam contracted Valerie out to catch her up on ghost fighting and spar with Sam on hand-to-hand combat daily. Sam was in excellent shape, but she need work on her shooting. It took less than a couple of sessions to be at Valerie's speed. Valerie didn't like the idea of being paid by Sam, but after Sam explained what was happening then Valerie didn't argue. Plus Sam was paying her enough to quit the nasty burger. The agreement was that they never told the boys because they have become a custom to Sam not fighting and worried that she would get hurt.
Danny told his parents about Sam's suspicions and they installed a ghost shield on the property. Maddie also made a couple of invitations for Sam without her son knowing. Maddie and Sam had been seeing a lot of each other to finish the new suit design for Danny. Danny never knew Sam took further steps into designing the suit. He just believed it was a couple of concept designs. She was hoping to attach the equipment custom-made by Maddie and do the final touch-up on it today.
She went to grab an outfit for the day when she saw it. Across her bedroom wall was written in ecto blood "Sam, I am always watching. You can't keep me away. You belong to me now". The ghost shield was turned on. She was frightened and knocked a couple of things off her dresser by mistake. Altering Derek, that happened to be in the hallway at the time. He knocked on the door and said "Sam! Are you okay in there"? He didn't hear a response so walked in. He rushed over to her seeing the message on the wall on his way to her. She was just wrapped in a towel and he told her to get dressed.
While in the closet Derek took her phone and called Danny since his family was ghost hunters. "Hey Sam, I was just thinking about you. I haven't heard from you all morning" Danny started saying. He was cut off by Derek "Danny, this is Derek actually. I think your parents and you need to come over. Sam is freaked out and I don't blame her. There's a creepy message on her wall written in green" he said. "We'll be right there," Danny said.
By the time the Fentons arrived, Sam was dressed in an oversized Dumpty Humpty t-shirt and fit and flare jeans. Valerie was talking to her in the kitchen. Danny had seen the message on the wall and went to hug her. "Did you hear anything while you were in the bathroom? You didn't turn off the shield, correct? I am so glad something didn't happen to you. I told you you should have just moved into Jazz's old room until we got this figured out. This is all my fault. You could have gotten hurt or worse" Danny was saying rapidly when he was cut off by Derek who just walked into the kitchen. "What do you mean this is all your fault? I know you guys have been all secretive since I arrived two weeks ago, but if this secret is going to hurt Sam then I need to know " Derek shouted at Danny.
Sam was about to break up the boys when she heard a man's voice say her name. She looked around to only see Danny, Derek, and Valerie. She could tell only she heard the voice. Valerie spoke up when Sam seemed uncomfortable and was in her own world. "Sam, are you okay," Valerie asked touching her arm bringing her back to reality. "What did you say," Sam said. Everyone was looking at her and she took her opportunity to leave the room. "I am going to talk to Danny's parents about the incident," she said dismissing herself. Derek followed her.
Dani came downstairs when Sam went to talk to Mr. and Mrs. Fentons. "Is it me or is that guy an asshat" Dani asked gesturing to Derek. "Yeah, he is! He cock blocks, Danny, every opportunity. I can't believe he moved in with Sam and switched to Casper High. Her parents thought it was a great idea since his family is wealthy and they encourage the friendship" Tucker said walking in grabbing a cookie from the cookie jar. Valerie spoke up "He just has a problem with Danny since he sees him as competition. He has no problem with Sam hanging out with girls or Tucker".
The Fentons, Sam, and Derek joined the rest of them in the living room. "We collected all the specimens to analyze it at our lab. As for the ghost shield, it was never turned off or altered of any breach in the system. When we get back to the lab we'll have more answers. I highly advise you to come to stay with us until we capture this ghost sweetie" Maddie said.
"Derek and I were actually going to see our parents for Thanksgiving. Our flight is tonight, but I planned on coming over today. If that's alright" Sam asked. "You know you never have to ask, Sam," Jack said grabbing the case that had their tools in it.
Danny was going to ride with Sam. He waited outside while talking to Valerie and Tucker. "Did you know she was going to visit her parents for the holiday weekend?" Danny asked them pacing back and forth.
"She knew you were going to freak out. That's why she didn't tell you yet. She doesn't want to go, but her parents threaten to move her back home with them to complete the school year. Even though she's eighteen years old, they still have control over her in a sense" Valerie said climbing into Pontiac G6 that she purchased last week. "It's not like you can buy a plane ticket and go with her" Tucker said climbing into the passenger. They waved bye to Danny as they drove away.
Sam was carrying her small tote bag when she exited the house. She was wearing one of Danny's hoodies that he left last week. He didn't say anything about it, because she always looked so comfortable in them and he never was cold since he got his ice powers. She tossed him the keys and said "You can drive". They climbed in and Sam started playing with the radio. "Wheres your shadow," he asked referring to Derek. "He has his stuff to pack and I told him I would be back in time to leave for the flight. I am sorry for not telling you. I know you have been worried about me and I didn't want to worry you more," she said looking at the floor of the car.
When they got to his house she told him that she needed to talk to his mom about some girl things. He went upstairs and found Sam's flight online. He purchased a ticket and started packing his bag. He didn't care if he wasn't invited, he wasn't leaving Sam alone with that creep especially when a ghost was after her as well. He just finished packing when he heard someone knock at his door. "Come in" he called out and Sam walked in with Maddie with a box. Sam hands it to him and he looks at her confused. "Open it before the box Ghost comes steals it," Sam says jokingly. Inside was a new Danny Phantom jumpsuit Sam designed a few months ago.
The bulky thermos he used to attach to his hip was replaced by a Fenton glove that acts as the Thermos as well being a power source for his suit. It was similar technology used by the Master's Blasters. Yet their technology did not provide them with any additional energy. There were green technology accessories added that would glow throughout his suit that should reflect the power gained when a ghost goes into the Fenton Glove. There were additional areas of green added to the rim of his white gloves, the rim of his boots, an oval located on his new white utility belt, and his logo was changed to this color as well. This additional area should glow when a ghost goes into the Fenton glove as well. Sam also added details such as adding more white to the chest and details around the neck.
"We hope you like it. Sam worked hard on it after we got the measurements from your suit rental for homecoming. She came up with all the technology concepts and I made them. We worked really hard on getting the fabric right. We wanted it to protect you more from blasts in a fight, make it flame resistant, more flexible, more aerodynamic, and more breathable. It wasn't easy, but after a lot of tests, we got it. Transform and try it on. We'll wait in the hallway" Maddie said.
A few seconds he opened the door with a giant smile on his face. Maddie and Sam stepped into his room to examine the new suit. "The fabric will expand with any weight change or Muscle change. I do think you are done growing though. If not we'll have to get taller door frames in this house" Maddie said. "So, do you like it," Sam asked checking her work.
"I love it! Especially since my mom and you made it for me. I am going to have to learn all the features. Dani and Valerie are going to be jealous. Tucker will freak about the technology. I can't wait to test it out. Thank you so much." he said hugging his mom. When he turned to Sam, she assumed he was just going to hug her. She was wrong.
When she hugged him, he turned intangible and went through the roof. He wanted to thank her the second-best way possible and take her for a flight. She always loved flying with him and it always gave them an excuse to get them extremely close. He lands on a hill in the park. "Your mom forgot to mention, but you have a homing button if were ever in distress. You'll have to hold the button for ten seconds or the programmed word of your choice. It will alter all of us and give you your location. I imagine she'll program it when you get home" she said.
"You know Dani and Valerie will want new suits. Tucker will probably want one as well. Heck, maybe even Jazz will when she comes home for Christmas" Danny said checkout the utility belt.
"Actually your mom and I have been working on new suits for everyone," Sam said. Danny stopped what he was doing and look at her.
"What do you mean by everyone," he asked. "Valerie, Dani, Tucker, Jazz, your parents, and me," she said the last part slower not making eye contact. "Sam, you don't need a suit. You will get hurt out there. I can't lose you" he yelled.
"When did I become such a delegate flower? Tucker and I used to help you all the time. You didn't have a problem then. Why can't I help now? You let Dani, Valerie, and Tucker help you. Even when Jazz is home from the university she gets to help. So why not me" she said shout the last part. She was furious with him. "I'll never forgive myself if something happened to you..." he said last turning away from her.
A blue mist escaped his lips. "Sam, get behind me," he said defensively scanning the perimeter.
"Well, Ghost Child I see you got a new upgrade, but it won't help you any. I got a couple of new upgrades as well" Skulker said with an evil chuckle. "What do you want Skulker? Did Ember kick you out of the liar for losing the remote again" Danny said with a smirk. Skuller attempted to blast Danny, but Danny created a shield to deflect it. Once deflecting the blast, he took the sky and shot him an ice ray. Skulker broke free of the ice and went for Danny's weakness, Sam. He flew at her and she reacted by dodging his grip, grabbing his jet pack wing he was wearing, she pushed off the ground, flipped them backward, and made him crash into the landscaping on the hill. Sam flipped backward off of him before he crashed. Danny took the opportunity to test his new Fenton glove and sucked Skulker in. Everything worked as it was supposed to.
Danny floated down to Sam with a serious look on his face. "Where did that come from? You could have gotten hurt" he said. "She didn't though," Valerie said arriving on the scene. "Dam Sam! You threw down girl. We need to train together when you get back" Dani exclaimed. Donny couldn't believe Valerie and Dani were encouraging this.
"We were patrolling and saw the entire fight," Valerie said. Sam looked at the cellphone, "We'll I need get-go. Can anyone take me back to Fenton's works? I have to get my car" Sam said. Valerie was about to offer when Danny said "I'll take you. Besides I am going with you. I have my bag packeted and my ticket purchased".
One awkward car ride to the airport and the three of them were on the plane. Danny somehow managed to get the seat next to Sam. Derek sat near the window and Sam sat in the middle. "I know it's going to be a short visit, but maybe we can go ice skating. You used to have fun doing that. Jessica and Nick thought it would be fun" Derek said to Sam.
"As long as you don't drop me when you lift me like last. I had a giant bruise on my ass for at least two weeks. It hurt to sit and I had to lay on my stomach whenever I wanted to relax" she said laughing. "You'll never let me live that down, will you, " he asked. "Never," she said getting comfortable in her seat.
"I didn't know you skated Sam," Danny said. "You should see all the medals and trophies she has. She qualified for the Junior Olympics, but the final competition interfered with her Teen Miss United States beauty pageant. The pictures and videos have of her as a little girl with blonde hair are so adorable though" Derek said. "God don't remind me of that, my parents thought it was healthy to bleach my hair and eyebrows starting at six years old until I was thirteen going on fourteen years old. Thank god my Grandmother took me to Salon to dye close to my natural as my early birthday present. My parents were so angry and threatened to dye it back. So I shaved the side of my head. Shortly after that we moved to Amity park" she said to open her Great Gatsby Book.
After a longer than expected flight, they were standing at the baggage claim waiting for Sam's luggage. Sam was talking about the Great Gatsby to Derek. While Danny was turning on his cellphone and he had multiple messages on his phone. Before he could read them the messages, his mom called him. "Danny, you don't have me on speaker, correct," she asked with concern.
"No, Why," he said walking further away from Derek and Sam. "The specimen we collected from Sam's wall consists of Ghost DNA and Human DNA. Similar to Danis and yours, but shows no signs of Fenton Human DNA. This halfa was able to get in and out undetected by the ghost shield. Don't tell Sam yet until we have more information. She's already frightened by the situation" Maddie said.
Danny turned to watch Derek grab Sam's luggage and Sam turned to look to see where Danny wandered off too. "Another thing Danny, the specimen indicates it is a male" Maddie added.
The Limousine driver dropped Derek at his house first and they were on the way to the hidden Hills where Sam's parent's house was. "So how did you meet Derek again," Danny asked. "He attended this preppy private school my parents had me attend. It's for the most elite and it is the most expensive private school in LA. He was the first person to talk to me. It wasn't like my boobs and ass appeared overnight. I also wasn't trying to make friends and out of resentment towards my parents forcing me away from Amity Park. He told me that I was probably the palest person he ever saw in LA. Then he saw I was reading William Shakespeare's Macbeth and we started talking about Shakespeare in general. We had a lot of classes together. Then we became friends, but he never supported me coming back to Amity Park. It got real awkward when he kissed, but that's in the past now" she said looking out the window.
He was going to ask more questions when he felt the Limousine stop. A servant came over to open the door for Sam, "Welcome home Ms. Mason. Welcome sir" he said. This mansion made the one in Amity Park look like a cheap apartment. It was like a castle! "Good Evening James. How's my Grandmother? She left a week early from Amity Park to visit her sister in Texas. She said she would be arriving this morning" She said.
"Your Grandmother arrived on time. She wasn't excited that your parents planned a ball for Saturday. You're still having Thanksgiving dinner tonight, but tomorrow will be chaotic with everyone decorating the house for "the winter ball" your mother is calling it. She's having guests bring a toy for the toys for tots charity, but your Grandmother feels your mother just wants to show off the new expensive China" James said leading Sam and Danny up to the house. A doorman opened the grand oak front door for them and Sam thanked them.
"Samantha, darling, you keep getting more beautiful each day. I am glad you were able to come home for the holiday" Jeremy Manson said looking at his daughter in her red wrap velvet dress she changed into at the airport. "Hello Daniel, Samantha didn't say anything about bringing a guest. I guess the more the merrier. We have plenty of guests rooms. You can stay in the one across the hall from Samantha's, but you better be a gentleman while on the property. Samantha will take you shopping if you didn't bring a suit. Pamela insists we have the first party this season" Jeremy said as he walked down the hallway towards their rooms. "Unpack your bags and be downstairs in thirty minutes for dinner," Jeremy said.
It didn't take Danny long to unpack and he headed over to Sam's room. The door was left open. The decor of the room would be a rich teens rooms, but it wasn't really anything he would picture for Sam. Especially the light pink walls. She was watering her flowers on the balcony and didn't even hear him walk in. "Hey, are you ready for dinner," he said. She jumped a little bit but composed herself quickly.
"Yeah just let me put on my heels". He looked over to a shelf in her room that had pictures her mom displayed for her. The majority of the pictures were of Sam before she attend Amity Park public schools. There were pictures of her in beauty pageants, competitive Dance performances, gymnastics performances, figure skating competitions, competitive cheer, her playing piano, and more. In all the pictures she had bleach blonde hair and matching eyebrows. Her smile looked forced to him. Over half of the pictures, she was wearing pink. Her mother treated her like a little Barbie Doll.
They made small talk as they walked to the dining room. Grandma Ida, Jeremy Manson, and Pamela were just sitting down at the table. Grandma Ida motion to Danny to sit next to her. Sam sat next to her mother. "Samantha, sweetheart, your father and I have been so proud of you these pasts few months. You have above a 4.0 GPA, every university wants you for your perfect ACT to score, and we loved every picture of you at your cheer performances. We especially loved the picture of you at homecoming. We have many eligible bachelors of LA wanting to ask for your hand in marriage. You couldn't make us more proud" Pamela said with a smile plastered on her face.
"Thanks, Mother. I am glad that I have made father and you so happy" Sam said. Danny could tell Sam was nervous about disappointing her parents and the possible retaliation they would use if she didn't perform like a perfect daughter.
"So Daniel, how're your parents doing? I heard they have become quite successful since the increase in ghosts. We don't have many around here for thank heaven" Pamela said to him taking a sip of her red wine.
The servants brought out the salads at this time. "My parents were fortunate to receive a government contract when the Guys in White agency had a reform. It has helped my family and helped put my sister through university to become a psychologist. Even though she received many scholarships, Harvard University isn't cheap. My parents also decided to adopt one of my cousins when her parents passed. Her name is Dani and she's like a little sister I never had. For the ghost, it has gotten better since the asteroid a few years ago" Danny said picking up his salad fork.
The rest of the dinner was painful, to say the least. It was like Sam was walking on eggshells. At least Grandma Ida was a funny old woman who called her son and daughter-in-law out on their bullshit once in a while. After being dismissed, Sam took Danny for a walk around the property.
In the furthers corner of the property there was a pound and a tree with a rope swing. "Would my lady care for to swing this evening?" Danny said in his best servant voice. "I may, sir," she said sitting down on the swing.
"Are you okay, Sam? You seemed very stressed at dinner tonight" Danny asked. "I'll be glad to be home on Sunday with you. My parents expect me to be a beautiful young lady that speaks when spoken to. A perfect little housewife that any wealthy bachelor will want to marry and have babies with. As if someone would genuinely want to settle down with me? I am just a pawn in their chess game. After graduation, I am going to break free from them. Become my own person. I even considered changing my last name to my Grandmother's maiden name. To separate me from a Manson" she said.
"Someone will want to settle down with you. You are beautiful and incredibly smart...I would say I understand what your going through, but my parents have never treated me like that. They always pushed me to do my best and celebrate my accomplishments. My parents want me to dream and reach for the stars" he said. "Do you still want to go work for NASA?" she asked him looking up at the stars while he looked at her.
"I can't ever leave Amity Park. Amity park needs Danny Phantom. Unfortunately, my parents can't handle it. If not, Masters Blasters will return" he said.
"If you let me help you fight ghosts, we both could attend Amity College. Tucker wants to go to fancy technology University which happens to be in the town as a Criminal justice that Valerie is attending" Sam said.
"Back to the ghost fighting with you! How about this , you'll train with me and I'll say when your ready" he said. She stood up and put her hand out for him to shake. "We have a deal, Mr. Fenton," she said shaking his hand.
He wasn't expecting what happened next. She pushed him into the pound. She was laughing so hard she started crying. "Well, that wasn't very ladylike Ms. Manson. Your lucky the water is freezing" he said. She reached out her hand to help him up."I assumed the temperature wouldn't bother you" she said.
"It doesn't bother me, but it might bother you," he said as he pulled her into the water. The water wasn't extremely deep. Danny could stand up in it without having to tread water like Sam. Danny stared at her beauty with the stars and the moon as the backdrop.
"You know your black hair is more fitting than the blonde. I never had a thing for blondes anyways" he said pulling her close to her so she wouldn't have to tread water. Their lips were so close to each other. Then Danny felt Sam shiver due to being cold. "Let's get you inside and dried off before you get a cold" Danny said transforming.
He landed them inside her room and she walked over to her bedroom door to lock it. "Keep your boxers on and hop in the bath with me," she said going to her bathroom. He heard the water turn on and he obeyed. She removed her wet dress, she was wearing a wet red bra and underwear set. She was pouring different types of soaps into the bathtub. Then started lighting candles. She climbed into the bathtub and looked at him. "I promise I won't bite ... for now," she said. He climbed into this giant tub.
"I see your mommy doesn't buy your boxers anymore. No more polka-dotted boxers" she joked with him. "No that's tomorrow's pair," he said sarcastically. "Don't ever tell Tucker we did this or we'll never live it down" she said grabbing a loofah to wash her body with. "Turn around and I'll do your back," she said. It felt so good having her hand and the loofah gliding across his back. "All set," she said moving back to her side. "That was incredibly relaxing," he said looking at her very pink bathroom lighted by the candles.
The next morning rolled by and Danny went on his morning run. When he reached the park he saw a very familiar face. She was wearing a turquoise slim-tapered fit lounge jogger short with a black sports bra and black running shoes. Her hair was in a high ponytail and she had her iPod strapped to her arm. He thought might be dreaming since it was before 7 am. It was a warm seventy degrees in the morning.
Danny ran over to her in his red cut-off, navy shorts, and slate Gray running shoes. She was in her own world when he caught up to her. He grabbed her arm and regretted it instantly. She twisted his arm around, but let go when she figured it was him. "O my god Danny, I am so sorry! I thought you were some stranger trying to grab me" she said apologetically.
"It's all right. It's probably best you reacted that way. I was going to ask why you were up so early, but I am afraid you might twist my arm again" he said. "If your career in ghost fighting doesn't work, maybe you should try to stand-up comedian since you think you are so funny," she said turning off her iPod.
"Do you want to walk to a coffee truck with me? They sell baked goods as well. My treat" she said. "Do you have to ask? You know my response already" he said.
Biting into his bagel Danny commented, "It's so different out here. I don't know how to explain it". "Ghost-free and artificial is what you are looking for," she said right before she took a sip of her small coffee. "I thought you weren't a morning person! You hate the bright morning sun," he said. "I hate seeing my parents right before a big party, especially since I am a young woman now. My mother has a presentation for me to sit through today of all the eligible bachelors asking for my hand. All of them will be at the party tomorrow night" she said rolling her eyes in annoyance.
Out of nowhere, Derek came running up them. Danny had an eerie feeling about him and believed he had something to do with the writing on the walls. "Sam, I am glad I caught you. I was wondering if you want to go skating this afternoon. Jessica and Nick are dying to see you" Derek said with a smile. "Who's Jessica and Nick again," Danny asked. "Some friends from Private school. Usually, it's was the four of us. Every Saturday we would either go ice skating or roller skating or go to do Karaoke" Sam said.
"So is it a yes or a no" Derek asked grabbing Sam's free hand. Danny was cringing thinking about having to spend his afternoon with Derek. " I guess Danny and I can come ice skating with the group, but I have a couple of things to do with Danny this morning. Say we meet at two" Sam said taking her hand back. "It's a date," Derek said smiling as he walked away.
"Does that guy have a tracking device on you or something?" Danny asked as they started walking back to the mansion. " He just knows my morning schedule is all. We can get back to my parent's house and get cleaned up. After that we need to go shopping for this stupid "ball" Sam said putting air quotations around the ball.
After having a nice shower, Danny threw on a red marled slub knit t-shirt, a regular fit blue jean shorts, a white faux leather lace-up sneaker, and a pair of navy aviator sunglasses tucking into the top of his shirt. Sticking his wallet into his pocket he walked across the hall to Sam's room. The doors were wide open, but Sam was in the bathroom indicating by the radio playing and the door being closed. He sat at her desk and saw her yearbook from her junior year. It had tons of messages from her classmates and phone numbers on the inside cover. There were tons of pictures of her throughout the book with her fake smile. No one, but the people who loved Sam would know it was fake.
Sam walked out in a green slim sheath sexy dress slash neckline. It was in a stylishly bohemian dress that end right above the knee. She had gold bracelets, gold hoop earrings, and a gold necklace. She was wearing a pair of nude wedged heels. She had her hair curled and had her makeup done very naturally. Walking over to grab her purse she asked "Are you ready to go"?
"I'll be ready as I'll ever be," he said getting up. " I have to get a ball gown for the occasion, unfortunately. According to my mom's invitation, she's requesting guests to wear either; white, silver, or blue. So I was thinking of either a navy suit or gray suit for you. Pray to God we can find either silver or blue gown for me" she said looping her arm around Danny's.
It was no problem finding Danny a suit that Sam purchased. It was Joseph Abboud Navy Satin Edged Notch Lapel Tuxedo with a white dress shirt, a silver vest, and a silver tie to match. Danny was waiting for Sam to come out of the dressing room. The women who worked there were all waiting on Sam knowing she's a Manson. Unfortunately to Sam most of the dresses in her size were sold out in her desired colors. She hadn't come out in one yet. "Sam, are you okay in there? How about you come out in the next dress you try on" he asked.
"You promise not to tease me. This literally the only one I can possibly consider wearing" Sams said quietly. He got closer to the door "Sam, I would never to tease you like that. I'll like to see the dress " he said. A few seconds later Danny heard the changing room door handle turn and he stepped back. She came out in a white off-the-shoulder full lace ball gown dress with scalloped detailing on the neckline and hem. Danny's jaw dropped and Sam assumed he didn't like it.
"It's that bad," she asked in a panic. "Your beautiful Sam. Like really. You need to get that dress" he said with a face full of blush. She walked over to all the mirrors and noticed the dress did not need alterations. The employees started carrying shoes over that would match the dress. One caught Danny's eye and made him smile. He grabbed one of the shoeboxes and showed Sam. It was pair of shimmering glass heels dotted with Swarovski diamonds. "I joked the night of homecoming about you being Cinderella. Maybe these shoes are meant for you" he said.
He kneeled and slide the heel onto Sam one foot. It was like it was custom-made for her. "It's a perfect fit," he said smiling up at her. Sam purchased the dress and shoes. Danny couldn't wait to see her in the dress again.
After changing into something more appropriate, Danny and Sam met her other friends at the ice skating rink. Jessica and Nick were lacing up their skates when they arrived. Jessica and Nick looked like Barbie and Ken dolls Danny thought. "Sam" Jessica yelled and waved. Sam smiled and introduced Danny to the two of them. Danny turned to see Derek out on the ice. For having ice powers, you would think Danny would know how to skate. You would be wrong and didn't help that Derek was gliding across the ice like a professional figure skater.
"Hey, Sam! I am glad to see you. Do you want to hit the ice with me before more people get here" Derek asked. She just finished lacing up her skates and looked at Danny. "Are you okay if I skate with him for a second?" she asked. Danny just shook his head and she went over to Derek. Danny remembers that Sam used to figure skate as a kid, but didn't know she was this good. Derek and her were doing difficult skills and techniques together.
"So are Sam and you a couple or something," Jessica said putting on her gloves. Nick looked at his girlfriend and said "Jessica, don't harass the poor guy. He's special to Sam to travel on the holiday weekend. Don't you remember how Sam used to talk about her Amity Park friends"?
"Sam is my best friend. Tucker and I were devastated when she moved away" Danny said attempting to get on the ice and immediately fell on his butt. Sam rushed over to him to help him up and asked " Are you okay"?
"Yeah, I am okay. I can handle a little fall on some ice" he said attempting to stand back up and nearly falling again. "Here, let me help you," she said instructing him how to hold on to her. She skated backward while explaining to him what to do.
"Wow, they have some chemistry. It seems like they are a couple" Nick commented to Derek and his girlfriend, Jessica. "I thought you were on my team for Sam and I get together," Derek said slyly. Jessica rolled her eyes skated a little forward to look at Derek. "You had your chance to get with her for almost two years while he wasn't around. If you couldn't get with her then, how do you expect to get with her now since Danny is back in the picture"? Derek was pissed by both of their comments and got off the ice to go cool down in the lobby.
Eventually, Danny got the hang of it somewhat but was holding onto Sam's hand. Sam noticed Derek left and caught up to Jessica to ask " What happen to Derek? He's at least been gone 15 minutes". Nick answered, "He's just butthurt over your friend and went to cool off".
Danny's ghost sense went off, but no one else noticed. He excused himself from the group and went to investigate. He had a hard time believing there was a ghost all the way out here. Natural portals do pop up, but they are rare. He walked into a storage room to find Frostbite. "Frostbite, what are you doing here? What happened to you" Danny asked in shock.
"One of the ghost zones greatest enemies attacked the land of the far frozen. He wanted to send a message to you, o great one. He wants you to know he's back and he wants his revenge" Frostbite said. "Who wants revenge," Danny asked. "Vlad Plamius" he responded.
Danny was dumbfounded by this revaluation. Vlad stayed in space after his failure of attempting to turn the astroids intangible. "Are you sure it was him?" Danny asked. " At first, we had no clue was attacking us. He was very powerful and appeared to be young like you. He told me to tell you that he was coming for his revenge and he's going to take away the love of your life. Like what your father took away from him. After he left, we were able to track his etco-signature to Vlad. The majority of the citizens didn't make it out of this attack" Frostbite said.
"How does he have a different appearance? What does he look like" Danny asked pacing around? "I have to return to the ghost zone since I am weak and don't have much strength left" frostbite responded. "Keep your loved ones protected. He will come for you, unfortunately. Come see me when you return home Great One" Frostbite said as he disappeared.
Inside the storage room, Danny called Tucker to inform him and told him to go over to his parent's house to inform them. When he hung up he heard Sam calling for him out in the hallway. When he walked outside to find her he accidentally knocked her to the ground, but he grabbed her fast enough before her head could hit the ground.
Sam looked at him puzzled knowing something was up with him. "What's wrong," she asked in a serious tone. With no one around, Danny told her everything that Frostbite said. "How could that be possible? He was left in space and how could he change his appearance that much" she asked. "Frostbite said it was him, but I have no clue why he hasn't shown his face yet," Danny said. "Who is he going to take from you? It's not like you have a girlfriend" Sam said. Danny didn't answer her, because he didn't want to admit that she was the one in danger.
After saying goodbye to Sams friends at the ice rank they went back to Sam's parent's house. Sam and her mother sat through the presentation of the bachelors who were attending the party tomorrow. Danny was talking on the phone to his parents, Dani, Jazz, Tucker, and Valerie about Vlad's return.
"Danny, how are you going to keep Sam safe if there are two ghosts after her? We know nothing about the new the ghost that broke into her house before she left and now you have Vlad back" Maddie Fenton said to her son. Valerie butted in, "Sam isn't completely defenseless, but if Vlad acted the far frozen with no mercy. What's to say he's not going to stop until he gets what he wants"?
Jazz spoke up, "Has anyone thought that maybe we are dealing with one ghost possibly? The message on Sam's bedroom wall is very similar to the message Vlad told frostbite". Everyone went quiet at Jazz's comment. "It would make sense if the ghost shield at Sam's house only prevented full ghost from entering. We need to get that sample from Frostbite to compare it," Tucker said.
"You guys need to wait until I get home Sunday to enter the ghost zone. I don't feel comfortable with anyone going without me" Danny said. "What about me? I can go" Dani asked. "Let's just hold down Fenton's works and prepare for this attack until Danny and Sam return," Jack Fenton said. Dani rolled her eyes.
"Danny does Sam know she's Vlad's possible target," Tucker asked. "I think she knows everyone is a possible target, but I don't think she has an idea that she's might be the main target," Danny said quietly. "Sweetie you need to come clean to Sam as soon as possible regarding your feelings for her safety" Maddie said. He turned and looked at the clock on the wall noticed hours went by. It was 10 pm and Sam was probably in her room. "I'll go talk to Sam right now. Night" he said to everyone on the call.
Danny walked across the hall and knocked on Sam's door. When no one answered he let himself in out of concern. She was asleep sitting on her window lounger with a journal in her lap and he assumed the pen on the ground was hers as well. She was wearing a black and white super soft modal PJ short set. She had washed and blown dry her hair. Her skin was soft and smooth from the lotion she put on. It was strange seeing her without makeup now of days, but she was just as beautiful without it.
Danny moved the journal aside and picked her to place her into her bed. He laid her down and fazed the comforter to put it on top of her. For everything that was going on, she looked very peaceful. He picked up the journal to put it on her desk but noticed it was more like a dairy and Curiosity got the best of him. He sat on the window ledge and started reading.

This trip back out west has been crazy, but when hasn't my life been crazy. Vlad has returned and he's out for revenge against Danny. Anyone Danny loves could be endangered. I know he will make sure everyone is going to be safe, but what will it do to him? He can't protect everyone and protect himself. On top of that, we have no clue what he looks like now. Frostbite says he looks young as us. How is this possible?
This trip hasn't gone as I planned at all. I was expecting my mom to try to set up with eligible bachelors, but I couldn't have predicted this trip with Danny. I always feel like I am going through the motions to please my parents. When I am with Danny I feel alive. He makes me feel important, valued, excited and even loved. If he felt the same way that I felt about him, my life would be complete and whole. Yet I am never the one. It seems like there's another girl catching his eye and he doesn't feel the same way. With Vlad back, we'll be busy protecting this girl and putting everything at risk for Danny to be with her. Maybe I am better off picking one of these bachelors and moving on before I get hurt more.
I know I am sounding selfish right now by talking about my feelings. There's just a lot going on and who can I vent to. I can't put this stress back on Danny about Vlad and it's definitely not the time to talk about my feelings. I can't vent to Derek about any of this nor does he need to be involved. Like I said, maybe when all this is over I should just move on if he doesn't admit his feelings. I can't
The entry wasn't finished since she fell asleep. He got up and put away her journal inside her desk. He started turning off all the lights in the room. The last light was by her bedside. He looked down at her as her eyes start to open. "What time is it," she asked in a sleepy voice. He smiled and said, "Time for you to go back to sleep". She scotched over and patted where she was laying indicating for him to lay down. He complied with her request. She told him about how ridiculous her mom was being and that over half of these men were in their late thirties. They talked for an hour until both fell asleep in her bed. Unknown to them a pair of red eyes were watching from outside the window.
