Danny wasn't a morning person like Sam, but he does typically wake up sooner. He started to wake up with a small weight against him. He smelled lavender as well that made him think of Sam. Then his eyes shot open and he looked down to see Sam laying against him with her head on his chest. She was still asleep, but he felt Sam's hand travel down him and she set her hand on the bulge in his pant which made it worse. He slowly moved her hand away and she started to wake up slowly.
"Shit, you fell asleep in here last night. Thank god my parents haven't come to harass me. They are probably busy bossing the staff around for the party" she said sitting up in bed. "Yeah the boring stories about your possible boyfriend put me to sleep," he said in a joking matter. She tossed a pillow at him and said "I think we both have a more serious matter on our hands than my dating life. What's the plan for Vlad"?
"When we get back home tomorrow we can discuss it. According to your alarm clock, you have six hours before guests start arriving. I can't believe we sleep in until noon" he said. "What do you want for breakfast and or lunch? Brunch? I only have a small window until I get poked and prodded" she said getting out of bed to grab something to change into. "What the heck are they going to do to you," he asked with a raised eyebrow.
"My mother thought I basically to wax the majority of my body, get my teeth cleaned and whited, get both highlights and low light done throughout my hair, skin treatments, and more. Basically, the makeover scene is Miss Congeniality with Sandra Bullock. On top of getting nails done, my hair in an updo, makeup, and getting dressed. We can trade places if you would like to get all these treatments, but they might notice it's not me when they go to do the Brazilian wax" she said.
Danny thought he was going to chock when heard about the Brazilian wax. "Why does your mom think you need a Brazilian wax," he asked knowing she must either wax or shave from the homecoming incident. "She thinks that I will meet a strong handsome man and that I will want to offer everything to be with him including my virginity," she said rolling her eyes.
"Well, we better get something to eat so you can prepare for this party" Danny said finally getting out of bed. About 15 minutes later they were out the door and got something to eat from a local restaurant. As soon as they return, Sam was whisked away to get ready for the party.
Danny was waiting downstairs for Sam. He was all ready for this ball and the majority of the guest had arrived. The mansion looked like a beautiful winter celebration with tons of Christmas trees, ornaments done in the party colors, lights, and fake snow. Everyone was in awe, but everyone expected Danny. While waiting for Sam, many girls his age came up to introduce themselves to Danny in hopes that he might ask them to dance. He was kind but told them he was waiting for someone.
Then she emerged looking like an angle. She was wearing the white off-the-shoulder full lace ball gown dress with scalloped detailing on the neckline and hem. She had diamond earrings, a diamond necklace, a pair of formal gloves, and a diamond bracelet. Her hair was up in a pinned bun updo with curls coming out of the side elegantly. She smiled when she saw him in his navy tux and his hair was styled to look more formal. "Good Evening" he took her hand and gave it a kiss which made her laugh.
They entered the grand hall and many gentlemen came up to Sam to ask to have a dance. Her mom told her she had to at least have one dance with each guy who would ask. Some being compliment she accepted a dance. It was formal dancing and the music was classical. Danny watched as multiple guys dance with Sam one by one. After Two hours of watching, Danny decided it was his turn and he wondered over to rescue Sam. To his shock, it was Derek that just finished dancing with her.
"May I have the next dance?" Danny asked. Sam smiled and agreed, but she took him somewhere private. It was the giant garden with a canopy. The entire garden was covered in lights. It was a little further of a walk, but it was worth the privacy. "How's all the dancing going," he asked walking beside her to the gazebo. "I wish I could be invisible like you. It was a lot easier when I was 14 years old or younger. Guys never had any interest in me at these parties. I wouldn't want to marry any of these guys, to be honest. My mother and father would go nuts if they heard me say that though" she admitted stepping up to the gazebo and looking in the pond.
"I understand why your listening to them, but I'll be glad when you're free to make your own choices," he said standing next to her. "Well, I do things without them knowing sometimes. Like they have no clue about my tattoo I got over a year ago or the piercings I got after my birthday" she said. "What did you get for a tattoo anyways? Also, what piercing? I don't see any new piercings on you" he said confused. "You could see them if you want, but I don't think want to see me naked," she said making Danny blush.
She leaned in closer to him when all of sudden his ghost sense to go off. "Hello Daniel, did I stop by a bad time? Samantha, you look absolutely exquisite tonight" Vlad said in a dark sinister voice. Danny immediately transformed and started looking around Vlad. Neither Sam nor Danny could tell where he was. It sounded like they were surrounded by him. "Come out and fight Vlad" Danny shouted.
"In due time I will reveal myself, Daniel. I just wanted to make sure frostbite delivered the message" Vlad said. "I got the message Vlad and you will pay for what you did to the citizens of the far frozen," Danny said. "Well, Daniel, as long as you know I am coming for your precious Samantha then I am all set for tonight. Samantha, sweetheart, I hope you enjoyed my message on your bedroom. I will make you mine either by your choice or by force" he said with a quick wit.
With that, he was gone, but Danny grabbed Sam and flew to her room. "We need to get you out of here tonight and as soon as possible. I'll help you pack your bags" he said setting her down. Sam said "Why is he coming after me? I get it that I am your friend and all, but" then she was cut off by Danny kissing her. It didn't take long for Sam to return the kiss.
"Please go get changed and start packing. We'll have to go across the hall to grab my stuff after you're done" he said grabbing her bags. They were packed and out the door in less than 30 minutes. Lucky they were able to get on a plane right away. Danny held onto her hand like he was worried she would slip through his fingers.
After the flight, they hopped in a cab and Sam fell asleep. He took them to his house knowing it would be safer than her house. Dani happen to be sitting on the front porch texting some friends she made from school when the cab pulled up. "Danny is everything okay," she asked grabbing their bags. She opened the door and his entire family was in the living room. "I am going to put Sam in my room and I'll be back down in a minute. Make sure the portal is on lockdown and the ghost shield is working properly" he said to his family.
After tucking Sam into bed he went back downstairs to find Valerie and Tucker had shown up. Danny explained everything that had to happen out in LA. "Why is Vlad hiding in the shadows? I know he likes to have other people do his dirty work, but he didn't hide from a fight" Valerie said. "Let's just keep the house on lockdown tonight and in the morning we can discuss a plan," Maddie said.
Danny thought it was odd that his parents didn't object to him sleeping in the same room as Sam. She must have woken up at some point because she changed into one of his shirts. He climbed into bed and wrapped his arm around her. He knew she would be safe here inside his house with his arm wrapped around her while they slept. He would wake up if he felt any movement.
The theory of waking up if he felt her waking up didn't happen for Danny. He woke up to being the only occupant in the bed. He rushed around looking for Sam. Everyone was down in the lab checking out the mock models of their new suits. Some were further along than others. Dani's and Valerie's were nearly completed vs Maddie and Jack's were only concept drawings with fabric. Tucker's and Jazz's were in the mid-stage. Danny saw nothing for Sam which relieved him.
Sam was sewing the last new additions to Valerie's suit. Dani was taking hers off the manikin. Tucker and his mom were talking about technology glasses for Tucker. Jazz was explaining to her father that an all-orange suit isn't the best choice and to go with Sam's concept. With all the hustle and bustle no one noticed Danny walk over to Sam.
"Hey, how did you sleep? You up early for you" Danny said talking to Sam. She just finished the stitch and motioned for Valerie to test her new forearm ray. "I slept well for the most part. Oddly my parents haven't contacted me yet. So they must think I am asleep and or had an early morning flight. I am up early to finish these suits though. If Vlad is more powerful then we have to be on our game" she said walking away start on another piece.
Sam's new suits were great Danny noticed. Dani's was similar to Danny's, but more of a teen female version of the concept. It also had a white hood per Dani's request. Valerie's suit was similar to the latest upgrade she received, but it was sleeker and her sleigh was able to change sizes to accommodate herself to multiple people. Tucker's suit was similar to Valerie, but the male version. It was black with highlights of yellow. It was more technology-based and had a hoverboard instead of a sleigh. In addition, Sam had Maddie modify glasses for Tucker to wear regularly that would help him detect ghosts and other helpful features.
Jazz's design plays with the concept of "eyes in the sky" in which she's wired into a tech chair back at Fenton Works. This is to prevent any physical injury she could obtain in battle. It's an all-black suit with green accents when connected. Jack had a concept with a black jumpsuit with orange accents. He had a giant ecto gun and tank-like backpack as an Energy source in case of long battles. Maddie was a play on her current jumpsuit but flipped the colors and provided a higher-tech including her goggles.
Danny couldn't believe Sam designed and sewed everyone's new fight suits. He did find it odd that she didn't have one for herself though. Walking over to Sam's sewing machine he noticed Sam had tons of texts from Derek. He rolled his eyes in annoyance but said nothing.
Danny knew when Sam and he were to be alone, she would be asking why he kissed her. Could he say because he loved her out too loud to her? He was worried maybe she would think it was due to high stress and that Danny didn't mean it.
"So what's the plan" Jazz asked standing next to Danny. Everyone looked up to what Danny's response would be. "We know he's coming for revenge and won't stop until he gets Sam. Oddly he transferred his obsession with mom onto Sam. I need to visit Frostbite to get more intel on Vlad. According to frostbite, he appears to look younger and not like his former self. While I am gone, someone will need to guard Sam" he said.
Not even a split second went by and Sam was fuming. "What the hell Danny? I have gone into the ghost zone multiple times. You think it's a smart idea to separate" she said getting in his face. "Sam, Danny is right about you being the safest here. We have no clue what Vlad looks like and ghost zone has many ghosts" Tucker spoke up. "Whatever," she said snatching her phone and going upstairs to calm down.
Danny and his younger sister Dani lead the way through the ghost zone with Valerie and Tucker following behind in the cruiser. Danny knew the land of the far frozen was going to be in bad conditions. Nothing could have prepared him for what he saw. It was like a natural disaster attempt to wipe the civilization. There was significantly less of the population.
They landed outside the secret headquarters Frostbite had taken them before. Slowly Frostbite emerged and said "Thank you for coming Great One and companions. Typically we would celebrate in honor of your arrival, but unfortunately many are in the hospital due to the attack. Please follow me to the surveillance room and I can show you the gruesome attack on my people".
The group walked into a large surveillance room/ conference room and sat down as instructed. Frostbite started the projection on the wall. It started like any typical day for the residents. Then flashes of red and vibrant pinks started taking deadly shots at the residents. Yet no site of the attacker. The warriors took cover and they started to fall. When Frostbite and his next charge emerged Vlad showed himself.
Vlad's physique was similar to Danny's. Tall at least 6'2, very lean and muscular. His suit was similar to Danny's jumpsuit. The Jumpsuit was white with black and red details throughout the suit. His gloves and boots were black. The cape was gone. The odd hairstyle was creepy was replaced with a silvery-white classy tapper fade haircut. His skin tone was no longer green, but a normal tan skin tone. His eyes were style red, but he had a pupil and the sclera was white. His head shape was similar to Danny's and his striking cheekbones. He could pass as a model or an actor.
Danny was the first one to make the revelation that Sam's new friend, Derek, was Vlad Plasmius. Danny shouts "That fucking son of a bitch was under nose the entire time! How come my ghost sense never went off? Don't you guys see it". Everyone looked at him in confusion. "Sam's friend Derek was Vlad. Swap the colors! It's a carbon copy of Derek," he said. "O my God! Danny's right, look at this picture I have on my phone with him in the background," Tucker said showing a picture from Sam's party.
"If Plasmius, is truly disguising himself as a friend then you need to return immediately home and inform the remaining member of your team," Frostbite said. "Tucker there isn't any way of you contacting anyone at Fenton works," Valerie asked as everyone rushed back to the Fenton cruiser. "Unfortunately the communicator on the cruiser wouldn't let me transmit anything on the way here. Technically Danny, Dani's, and your new suits should be able to send something back. I am wondering if it's something at Fenton works. None of our cellphones will work either" Tucker replied.
Danny's thoughts were racing on the frightening interaction he witnessed with Sam and Vlad. Sam let this guy stay with her because she thought he was a friend. He kissed Sam and she rejected him. He wants to make her his either by choice or force. The last part concerned him the most. If Vlad could change his age, his appearance, and flicker between his different voices… what else is he capable of.
"Danny I know you worried about Sam, but you need to be focused. If you don't focus now then your putting Tucker, Valerie, and I endanger on our way back home" Dani said while Tucker and Valerie got on the cruiser. "She's right Great one. Your female companion is under the watch of the rest of your family" Frostbite commented. Danny promised to come back to help frostbite once Vlad was captured. Danny lead away from the head of the group while they attempted to keep up with him. Everyone knew why Danny was freaking, but no one wanted to admit that there's a possibility Vlad could have returned to Amity Park while they were gone.
While Danny was gone to see Frostbite, Sam went back downstairs finished Tucker's suit based upon the final fitting. After she finished she needed a break and shower. She hasn't gotten to shower before her mother's party. So she went up to Danny's room to use his personal bathroom. She was so upset that Danny wouldn't let her go in the ghost zone with him. She was so upset she was scrubbing her arms, legs, and body until they were red. The shower was scolding hot.
She wrapped a towel around and went back to get clothes since she forgot them due to being upset when she went upstairs. She figured Danny wouldn't be home soon either. She was pulling out stuff from her luggage and a hoodie from his drawer when she noticed some items on Danny's dresser.
The first thing she noticed was a picture of Tucker, Danny, and Sam after the disastriod indict. They were standing in the snow wearing winter coats, hats, mittens, and scarves. On the left was Tucker laughing, Danny in the middle laughing with Tucker, and on the right was herself smirk on her face while rolling her eyes. Picking the picture she noticed Danny had Sam's old choker on the dresser hidden behind the picture frame and the stand. She remembers Danny being there the day she purchased the chocker and that he went back to buy the matching bracelets since she loved the chocker so much.
On the other side of the dresser was a picture from Homecoming this past year, it was the picture she sent him the next morning teasing him about not looking at the camera. Both Danny and her looked truly happy at that moment. Beside that picture was a nearly empty bottle of Le Male Eau de Toilette cologne. She purchased it for him at the beginning of the school year. He wore it every day. She sniffed the bottle.
She went back into the bathroom to get dressed and brush her hair out. Walking out of the bathroom she noticed on Danny's bookshelf above his desk had her old photo album. She couldn't believe she didn't notice these items, she thought to herself when she was grabbing the album. While flipping through pictures, she assumed the last pictures were from the Astroid. She was wrong.
Danny had the entire album almost filled. It picked back up from when return to Casper high. Many of the pictures she didn't even know he was taking pictures of her. There was some that she knew about with Danny or Tucker or Valerie or cheer and or that she would post online to keep her parents happy. The majority were beautiful cannon moments. The last picture was from two days before they left for thanksgiving.
She sat the album on Danny's bed and went to stand by the window. Looking at the ghost shield outside the window made her wonder if Danny would be back soon. Was he going to make it back safe? Vlad knows ways to get in the ghost zone. He could surprise attack Danny there. She knew she wanted to talk to him about multiple things when he returned, but the main conversation piece was what the kiss meant back in LA. Were they more than friends?
Her thoughts were consumed by a dazed-like hypnotic state. She heard a man's voice saying "Samantha, come to me. Come outside to me". Unconsciously, she did as commanded and she opened Danny's window. She climbed out and went down the fire escape ladder. Her feet meet the ground and the voice took over again.
"Samantha, come to me and be with me. Run to me, but make sure no one sees you. I am at your old house" the voice said. She took off running at full speed and made sure not to be seen. Especially by the Fentons as she crossed over to the other side of the ghost shield.
Jazz and her parents were relieved when Danny, Dani, and the Fenton Cruiser pulled back in. Danny phased out and looked around the lab for Sam. "Wheres Sam," he said unnecessarily loud and nervously. Jazz looked up to the clock and said "She went upstairs to take a shower about an hour, but she hasn't come down. She said that needed to be by herself". Danny did hear anything after the showering.
He phased through the floors and flew up to his room directly. He went to pound on the bathroom door, but it was open and she wasn't in there. He turned to see the photo album on the bed. He started to call her phone but hung up when he heard her cellphone ringtone going off. On his way to put the book back, he felt a breeze and he turned to see the window open.
His heart sunk and he knew had a bad feeling, but nothing could prepare him for this…. Sam was gone. In denial, he searched the entire house and finished in the basement where everyone else was. If Danny was observant like his sister he would notice that the group that went to ghost zone informed jazz and his parents what happened. "Sam is missing! I searched the entire house and she is gone. I told you to guard her" Danny screamed in hysterics.
