Blown
Chapter Two
Marcie walked down the steps like always. However, this time she had a mission that needed to be done and that was to make sure that Leroy Jethro Gibbs was going to be alright. "What happened?" she had to ask with her curiosity kicking in as a reporter.
Taking in a deep breath into his lungs. He turned to face his wife with concern. "A friend of mine Terry Thomas a Naval officer from Quantico was the one to be found in that vehicle blowing up," he says.
"I am truly sorry Jethro. Did they find out the cause of the explosion?" Marcie moved in closer to her husband shaking his head.
"At the moment no. However, the Metro police were able to find traces of cocaine and other types of drugs in a briefcase located in the trunk. I have never heard Terry talk about drugs ever since he had gone cold turkey years ago having been a heavy user on Cocaine."
"Wow! But you think otherwise that someone had caused this to have your friend killed?" Marcie quipped.
"I just don't understand it Marcie as to why it always has to be me in the crossfire?" he said for which Marcie wasn't able to understand what he was talking about.
"Eleanor Bishop coming to see me at the diner asking on whether it was worth it to get myself suspended along with losing my friends at NCIS. She told me that Odette the woman from the C.I.A. has been training her during the past year. She told me that she was going to leave NCIS to head to Bulgaria for an undercover operation leaving Nick in the dark." he croaked in his words.
"Why would she leave NCIS after so many years having for you to be her mentor?" she responded with kissing him quickly on the cheek.
"I just don't understand it with all this happening has me reeling with my own thinking Marcie?" he cried out with turning to face her completely. "I am just too confused right now. I just hope that Doctor Palmer working with the Metro coroner's office will be able to find any answers.
Metro county coroner's office
Doctor Anthony Sparrow and Doctor Jimmy Palmer having been assisting the autopsy with the 30 year veteran for the country coroner's office.
They had been working for the past few hours having found in the stomach contents of Terry Thomas traces of Cocaine and others with blood tests having been taken to try and figure out what exactly killed him. Besides the two bullet wounds to his chest.
A lab technician Doctor Sandy Dennis came in with the results of the blood tests. Doctor Sparrow looked up to asked him what was the results.
"It seems to me after checking it three times that it was mostly a drug overdose, along with the fact that someone else was in that vehicle before it blew to have decided to finish the job with shooting him." Doctor Dennis to say.
"I just don't get it, Doctor Sparrow? why shoot him knowing that it was a drug overdose and on top of blowing up the vehicle?" Doctor Palmer needed to say with rubbing the back of his neck.
"Good question for the police and NCIS to find out why?" Doctor Sparrow said with going to wash up before heading into his office to write the report.
"I will let Director Vance know the details, and no doubt so will Special Agent Gibbs." Palmer needed to say with getting cleaned up to leave the coroner's bay to head back to NCIS. But instead of being curious, he was going to see if Gibbs was home to give him the news.
Taking the road heading for Gibbs's house. Doctor Palmer parked his vehicle in front of the house noticing that both vehicles were parked in the driveway.
This is when Gibbs came out of the house wearing blue coveralls as if he had been working in his famous basement. "Jimmy why are you here?" he will ask with Marcie inside the living room looking out the window.
"Gibbs, I just came from the Coroner's bay with your friend Terry Thomas having been autopsy." he needed to say to have his attention.
"What killed him exactly?" Gibbs said with walking back inside his house.
"It was a combination of three things Special Agent Gibbs. He was shot twice into the chest indicating that he knew his killer inside the vehicle before it blew, along with his stomach contents filled with traces of Cocaine and other drugs in his system," he said with a deep breath.
"Son of a bitch! I just can't believe this Palmer to have Terry cleaned all of these years to wind up dying with his reputation tainted as a drug user." Gibbs cried out with Marcie coming over to hold her husband into her arms and she didn't care what Palmer thought of the emotional scene.
"Listen, Gibbs, I need to go back to NCIS to report back to him. Since NCIS is officially on the case now. Oh, before I forget. Kasie wants you to call her. I don't know what she was able to find with the evidence found in the back of the trunk." Palmer said with his tone calm even though that Kasie had hit the jackpot not realizing what has been going on with Gibbs and Marcie checking into the serial killer.
"I will call you when you leave. Thanks for coming nevertheless." Gibbs exclaimed with watching him leave and with closing and locking the door.
"What do you think Kasie has come up with Jethro?" Marcie asked her husband grabbing his cell phone off the coffee table.
Looking up into her face. "I won't know anything until I speak with her, Marcie." Bringing up the lab number onto his screen. Gibbs presses the button to have the connection to go through.
