Blown
Chapter nine
A few hours later...
There was another explosion at a local refinery for Colonial. This target was mostly a decoy for what's to come for NCIS and the F.B.I.
Special Agent Gibbs waking with hiring the sirens outside with the first trucks running past his house. He had gotten up by putting on his robe and slippers trying not to wake his wife. He had been concerned that something must have blown with all of those trucks running towards.
Grabbing his scanner to turn to the correct frequency for the calls to the firehouse and police department. Marcie had come down the stairs to find out what the hell was going on.
"What's wrong Gibbs?" she was able to see it in his face at this late hour.
"I really don't know!" he said with listening further to the calls. "It looks like a Colonial gas pipe had blown," Gibbs said to her.
"Someone must of set it off to go like that Jethro. And I have a feeling it has something to do with the serial killer averting the authorities' attention?" she exclaimed with her statement. "And besides we have Director Leon Vance to worry about right now. I just hope to god that man gets what he deserves after all of this time?" she states with Gibbs agreeing to the idea. Even though at times as well it was hard for him after many years of estranged friendship with NCIS as his boss and himself as the team leader.
Two days later ...SECNAV Headquarters.
The package had been received by the secretary of the Navy to his office. As he was currently arriving back from a meeting at the Pentagon. There was even a report from the local Metro police that he had asked for in regard to the blown gas pipe that was destroyed a few days ago. Even though it wasn't Navy-related.
Walking into his office exhausted after the long four hours of meetings. His secretary Angela had told him that there was a large package in his office.
"Whose it from Angela?" he asked with moving over to the coffee pot to pour himself a cup of hot coffee.
"Don't know sir. But it must be important to be sent in two days." she will say with walking out of his office to finish up her own work before going on home to her daughter Jane age 14 and her husband Jack of 17 years of marriage.
After pouring the coffee. He grabs the heavy package to open it with a note inside raising his eyebrow. "FOR YOU'RE EYES ONLY CONCERNING DIRECTOR LEON VANCE AND HIS COVERT OPERATIONS OVER THE YEARS. This will finally show you just how crooked this man is. A concerned citizen.
He was shaking his head knowing who might be involved in sending this package. This has come at the best of times since he and others have been trying to put out Vance for the past few years, and recently for his actions for suspending Special Agent Gibbs for no real reason.
He looked through all of the Intel inside to show Special Agent Vance back in the day shooting a C.I.A. agent Gunnard Larson with C.I.A. for 15 years. He had set it up with another friend of his to take out Larson handing over sensitive Intel over to the Russians.
Reading on with the other covert operations including TRIDENT and a few others. This information will place Director Leon Vance into prison or worst.
After he was done an hour later and a monster of a headache. He decided to call Special Agent Gibbs on his cell leaving a voicemail since he wasn't picking up. No doubt he was asleep or working on his boat? he will be thinking. Leaving the message...Gibbs, I received the package. I know it was you that sent it and I will see what I can do to have others help with removing the director from his position.
He ended the message needing to take two aspirins to continue on with his work. While placing the file into his vault for now. Since no one else had the combination but himself.
After waking from the arms of his wife earlier. Special Agent Gibbs had listened to his voicemail needing to call SECNAV down in the basement away from the ears of his wife Marcie.
He moved out from the bedroom wearing nothing but his robe and slippers with the robe tied tight. Bringing up the number onto the screen to press the dial. He waited for the connections to go through...
"Jesus Gibbs it's about time you called me back?" he cried out sitting in his vehicle on his way home in Alexandria.
"I was sleeping sir and I had my phone off at the time until now. What's up James?" Gibbs said down in his basement.
"I received your package and I never suspected that Leon would have been involved in those covert operations? he needs to be removed as director of NCIS?" he said calmly with making the turn into the driveway of his house. "I had the others to call me with the complaint about Vance. I will let you know what is the best course of action that is needed."
"James, you do need to know that Leon knows that I have the file that Trent Kort had given to me. Once the action is taken. There is a good chance that he might be going after me and I need to put my wife into a safe house to keep her protected?"
"I know Marcie, Jethro. She won't go needing to get the story as well. Even though she is married to you all of all Marines?" he exclaimed with his statement to have Gibbs chuckling slightly.
"I am going to try and convince her nevertheless James. However, please keep me posted on when Vance will be removed from his position and have Assistant Directory Lowry to be taking over?"
"Sure enough Gibbs." he hangs up the phone to call his associates. While Leroy Jethro Gibbs turned to see his wife Marcie fuming at the top of the stairs.
