Chapter 17th

Blown

After sometime. Tim McGee had finished up the rest of his food and beer. He had gotten up for a moment. When he walked over to the window to notice a vehicle driving by that reminded him of something.

Then it hit him..."Gibbs get your weapon I believe I noticed it before for the Cartel?" Tim cried out as Gibbs grabs his weapon from inside the small safe sitting on top of the bookcase.

All of a sudden gunfire erupted with both agents getting down onto the floor moving along to reach the door and window firing back with the black SUV moving away quickly. "Did you get the license plate, Tim?"

"A partial one." he was breathing hard when Gibbs noticed that his friend had been nicked on the right shoulder.

"OMG Tim you're been hit!" Gibbs grabbed his cell phone to call 911 with his own excitement. He had been having pain in his chest from the stress of the drive-by shooting.

He spoke with the 911 dispatcher telling the male voice over the phone the situation with his friend having been hit by a bullet in his right shoulder. Afterward, Gibbs grabbed a towel to be covering the wound to stop the bleeding feeling bad about what has happened to his friend.

Sirens could be heard in the background along with most or all of the neighbors wondering what was going on with the shooting of Gibbs house. The next store neighbor Rita a friend of Gibbs for a long time had called NCIS to let them know what was going on to be sending two agents to investigate with Lt. James Brown and Special Agent Victoria Tyler leaving the Naval Yards to head for Gibbs house in Alexandria.

"Tim try and take it easy?" he commented with a deep breath. Gibbs pressed in tighter with the pressure with the bleeding having to slow down.

"I just don't believe this Gibbs that the Cartel no doubt is after you again?" Tim grimace in pain. "Listen I need for you to call Delilah in order to let her know what has happened?"

"I will Tim once the ambulance takes you to the hospital." he was grimacing himself as if his chest felt heavy.

"What's the wrong boss?" he asked with grave concern for his friend.

"Don't know Tim?" Gibbs exclaimed even though after a moment he was feeling better. "The ambulance is arriving as with the barrack of police and even NCIS no doubt?" he cried out with his response.

There was a quick knock on the door. "Can we come in?" the EMT technician name Harry Kennel with his associate were carrying their medical equipment. "What exactly happened here?"

"A drive-by shooting by the local Cartel. My friend visiting for NCIS was visiting when he noticed the vehicle when he had looked out the window." Gibbs said with his comment and with Tim telling them to check Gibbs out as well with a heart condition.

"Damn it Tim I am fine for god's sake?" he responded with his anger building further.

"We will be the judge of that sir?" the young technician had to say with his associate pulling out the portable EKG machine to call the hospital to speak with a doctor.

This is when Special Agent Gibbs passed out from the pain in his chest as if he was having a heart attack. Right away Tim being taken care of with his shoulder. They were able to contact the hospital with a strip being sent to the emergency room doctor telling them that Gibbs was having a slight heart attack with needing to be brought to the hospital under observation. Now with himself and his wife both in the hospital.

Getting Gibbs onto the stretcher with McGee able to walk with locking up the front door. The Metro police were going to be coming to the hospital looking for answers as to why the shooting.

They had placed Gibbs into the back of the stretcher along with McGee to be taken care of further once they get to the Bethesda hospital.

Doctor Cyril Taft having gotten out of surgery after a six-hour procedure with a patient needing a heart valve changed. His beeper was going off telling him that a patient of his was coming in with heart issues along with Senior Field Agent McGee having been involved in a shootout at his house in Alexandria.

He had taken the elevator down to the emergency double doors to find out what the hell happened to Gibbs and with McGee being shot.

He was told that the ambulance was five minutes out from Gibbs's house in Alexandria. Doctor Gomez working the emergency room came over with the EKG strip to show him that his heart rate was erratic for some odd reason to pass out.

"I just don't get this Doctor Gomez. Gibbs was doing really well until today?" he inquired with his response.

"You're going to find out soon when they get here. All I know there was a driveby at his house when the agent visiting alerted Gibbs that it might have been the local Cartel with orders to take him out. I don't know anything else at this point? Except for the fact we will be needing to alert his wife on the eighth floor recovering from her own exhaustion."

"Here they come, Doctor Gomez?" Doctor Cyril Taft was ready to examine his friend as soon as possible. Moving out of the ambulance was McGee holding his shoulder with the pressure bandage having been placed.

While Tim was inside the ambulance. He was able to call his wife Delilah explaining the situation to her with the shooting and possible heart attack with Special Agent Gibbs?

"Take Special Agent McGee up to the operating prep room and alert the team that Doctor Sinclair will be taking care of the patient?" Taft needed to say with McGee going past him placing him into a wheelchair for now, while his friend Gibbs was removed onto a different stretcher with Taft following behind to bring him up to the Cardiac unit to take all type of tests on his heart and other organs of his body and including blood drawn.
