Blown
Chapter 18th
Special Agent Timothy McGee in spite of his wound after calling his wife that he was going to be alright. Even though he was more concerned about Leroy Jethro Gibbs for him to collapse in his living room. He had no idea what was going on with him in spite of the fact he had surgery on his heart to replace the valve.
Watching his friend on the stretcher looking so pale. He found himself inside the elevator heading up to another floor, while Special Agent Gibbs in another elevator heading for the Cardiac unit with Doctor Cyril Taft ordering a ton of tests to be done on his patient.
All of Gibbs's personal belongings were placed into a plastic bag to be placed inside the closet. While he was hooked up with all types of wires leading to his chest. Taft needed to find out why he had passed out onto the floor of his house.
Meanwhile, Doctor Taft came into his room with his medical chart sitting down with the chair to observe his friend waiting for the portable cat scan machine will be coming into taking pictures of his chest cavity mostly to see if anything foreign might be causing the issues.
With sitting. He noticed that his friend was beginning to finally wake through the air mask. He had gotten up to be standing over him. "Jethro welcome back! You will need to stay still for a little while?" he needed to have said to his friend.
Speaking in a low tone..."What happened to me?" Gibbs had to ask.
"You blacked out after the drive-by shooting. You're in the hospital as with McGee being taken care of with his shoulder. He's going to alright with staying in the hospital for a day or so with his wife arriving a few moments ago to visit him."
"Have you told Marcie as yet, Doc?" he asked with concern with his tone and angry of sorts demeanor.
"Not yet! But I need to speak with her myself once I know the results of all of the tests that have so far been done on you. Otherwise, I have no answer as to why you passed out?"
"All I knew that I was excited with the driveby trying to take care of Tim being shot in the shoulder. I had this pain in my chest before I knew it with landing here in the hospital bed once again." Gibbs snapped with his answer.
"It's possible that your blood pressure might of spiked too high to cause the pain in your chest along with the pressure building. I had thought that changing the heart valve might have helped instead it had made it much worst with your condition."
"What does that mean Doc?" he says through his air mask trying to get the full picture for when it comes to his health.
"It means that it needs to be changed or have a bypass to help you further to live longer. We won't know for sure until we have all of the results from the tests. but in the meantime I will need you to try and take it easy, while I will see what I can do with telling Marcie the news?" he says with Gibbs falling asleep.
Sometimes later with all of the test results were now in. It seems to Doctor Taft, Silverton, and even Gilbert that Special Agent Gibbs was going to be needing a double bypass noting that both values needed replacing and other issues that will place Gibbs on the disabled list for a while with his recovery and with the Academy needing to wait until he was ready.
Taking the elevator down to the maternity floor and ward. Doctor Cyril Taft after having something to eat downstairs in the cafeteria and checking the nurse's station checking on Gibbs having to be still asleep.
He knocked on the door to see Marcie looking so much better sitting up in a chair watching TV with her laptop sitting on the table next to her.
She looked up to see him walking him with that particular expression on his face. She had a feeling something had to be wrong.
"What's going on Doctor Taft? And you have better be telling me the truth?" she noted with her voice having to be loud.
Taking a deep breath. "Gibbs and McGee were at the house discussing options about the Cartel. When McGee noticed a drive-by vehicle. When he alerted Gibbs with grabbing their vehicles."
"How bad Doc?" she cried out with the response.
"McGee was shot in the left shoulder not bad and is here ats with your husband passing out. We suspect that he might have had a mile heart attack with his blood pressure skyrocketing. We have him in the Cardiac unit and all of the tests shown that Jethro needs a double bypass?" he said with a croak in his demeanor.
"When is this supposed to be happening with my husband's surgery?" she needed to know the answer with being concerned for the most part.
"In a few days probably while making sure that nothing else is wrong as well?" he inquired with getting up to let her know that everything is going to be alright.
"Will I be able to see him even for a few moments in a wheelchair? since my doctors want to be sure that I won't have a relapse as well?" she cried out with Taft telling her that he was going to talk with her doctors about visiting her husband in the cardiac unit.
He walked out of her room to head for the nurse's station to ask who is on her case.
"Doctor Taft I will contact Doctor Gomez about Mrs. Gibbs's case and whether she will be able to visit the cardiac unit?" Syrian Sanchez supervisor on the floor had gotten on the phone to page the doctor.
