Chapter 28th
Doctor Cyril Taft had rolled Gibbs sitting in the wheelchair to the maternity ward after telling him what Doctor Silvers had to say.
Gibbs was really anxious to be with his wife Marcie being this is their first child since getting married. Even though technically his second and Marcie's as well from a previous marriage.
Moving out of the maternity ward elevator having to be a whirlwind of activity stopping off at the nurse's station to be advised by the doctor that Marcie had been told the good news.
Doctor Taft tells the nurse to thank you with a crooked smile before heading for the birthing area to be dressed in a blue gown, cap, mask, and gloves mostly. Before reaching the birthing area. Gibbs needed to use the bathroom quickly by taking the gloves off to wash his hands and placing them back on again.
Taking a deep breath before moving inside. Gibbs was able to see his wife crying out from the contractions with a proxy helping her out. Marcie looks up to see the wheelchair and her husband.
"Thank god!" she said with the blue cloth was being used to wipe her brow by the young nurse.
Doctor Taft brings him over to the side of her bed to hold her hand. While leaving the cane next to the bed in case he needs to get up to lift his wife with the final pushes of the baby. But this is not going to happen for a few hours since she wasn't ready by a long chance.
Doctor Taft headed out to get some shuteye in his office. Since this was a rare evening for where he will be staying in the hospital. Even though he had already called his wife Catherine at home so not to worry about him.
Gibbs asked his wife what was she was thinking. "Are you serious Jethro? I need to get this baby out of me already?" she cried out as she squeezed his hand covered by the gloves.
"No can do right now sweetie! Just try to hang on with the contractions?" he will say to his wife.
"I could just hit you one, Jethro sometimes. How I wish that men can have a baby and go through with the pain and contractions?" she said with anger.
"Maybe someday Marcie. But right now it's me, you and the staff?" he cried out with a crooked smirk.
She was looking over at the smirk of his to say..."Don't even think of it Leroy Jethro Gibbs?" she noted with a comical look coming from his expression.
"I have no idea what you're talking about Marcie?" he played with her with his answer. "Besides I am here and I never wanted to leave you alone for when it comes to you having our son." he cried out with a kiss to her brow getting up from the wheelchair before sitting back down again.
"Tell me, Jethro, how are you feeling since the double by-pass?" she will ask in between the pain and contractions.
"I have my good and bad days. Otherwise, my energy levels are getting better to indicate that I am getting closer to going home to you and the baby," he said with a slight smile watching his wife suffering.
"And what about your enemies needing to leave you alone to live a normal life once again?" she cried out with the pain hitting her strongly from the contractions.
"Good question Marcie," he says withholding her hand still ...
FiVE HOURS LATER...
Doctor Angela Silvers had come in a few times to check on the dilation down below with a few more hours to go. She had left for another patient having a baby as well.
Marcie was left with a proxy for a few moments to have her husband use the bathroom and to have something quick to eat and drink. While Marcie was jealous that she wasn't allowed to have anything to eat or drink.
After changing back into the gown and other essentials. He was now ready to finish this off with his wife Marcie. He had his energy back once again along with his hand feeling better.
He moved into the birthing room with Doctor Silvers to say that she was ready to give birth. Thinking that it was going to be taking longer than expected.
"Jethro are you ready for the show?" Marcie cried out with the response as he grabs the cloth to wipe down her brow from the sweat.
"I am differently ready Marcie. I have been ready since I heard about the pregnancy." he coyed with his wife that wanted nothing to do is to have the baby and sleep mostly. "Let's get to it Doctor Silvers?" he said.
"Alright, then the both of you. I have a date with my bed and some food," she responded with everyone chuckling.
"As do I Doctor Silvers!" Marcie says with the worst of the contractions hitting her.
Doctors Silvers had Gibbs get out of his wheelchair by helping his wife up into the air with the pushing of the baby.
"Come on Marcie, you can do this?" Gibbs was cool, calm, and collective.
"Easy for you to say Jethro?" she cries.
"On the count of three, I will need for you to push as hard as you can Marcie?" Doctor Silvers needed to say to them both.
Leroy Jethro Gibbs helped her with the count of three she pushed hard with pain ripping her as she was able to push the head out with her breathing exercises.
"Come on Marcie, we have a date with a bed?" Doctor Silvers needed to say.
Marcie screams out as she pushes as hard as she could with Gibbs kissing her on the head urging her further until finally their son is delivered and a very exhausted Marcie collapsing back onto the bed and with hearing the cries of their baby.
