FIVE YEARS AGO:
A young Olive Rozalski was sitting in her fifth grade classroom sighing, as a teacher stood in front of the class and said, "Now I know not everyone knows each other in this room. So for your first day of class, I want you to learn three new things about the person sitting next to you." Olive then turned her head and said, "Yo. I'm Olive. I have four brothers, a best friend named Sydney, and I'm bumming we're not in the same class this year. So there's your three things." Then sitting next to Olive was a young Emmy Mendoza who said, "Well my name is Emmy, and I like ponies and unicorns, and... I'm sorry you miss your best friend." Olive then raised one eyebrow as she said, "Why is your voice so squeaky?" Then Emmy said, "I don't know. I guess that's how I was made. God gave me an extra squeaky voice for a good reason I guess, just like He made you extra cute for a good reason I guess." Olive suddenly made a little smile as she said, "Wait. You think I'm cute?" Then Emmy said, "Yeah. If I was a boy, I bet I would really, really like you." Olive then smiled some more as she blushed a bit and said, "Thank you."
PRESENT DAY:
Emmy was walking down the sidewalk quickly as Olive was chasing after her yelling, "Emmy, wait." Emmy then glanced back at Olive and said, "I told you Olive. I think we just need a break for awhile." As Olive caught up to Emmy, she said, "But was it something I said? Was it something I did?" Emmy sighed and said, "No. You're perfect Olive. It's just... everything in life that seems perfect when you're young, always seems to end. I mean can you name one happy couple you know that met when they were teenagers that's still together?" Olive hung her head down low as she said, "I can't." Emmy then said, "Exactly. Why prolong something if there's a strong chance it won't last?" Then Olive looking more bold now said, "Because what about the small chance that what's happening between us does last? I mean... have you ever dreamed about what our future together could be like one day? If you actually could see what might be, wouldn't you want to stay together just for the small chance that dream might actually come true?" Emmy looking annoyed then said, "Olive, just... give me space. Okay?" Emmy then walked away from Olive and began to cross the nearby street. Suddenly there was a loud truck noise, and Olive yelled, "EMMY!" Emmy turned her head and saw a large truck heading towards her. Emmy then screamed and closed her eyes...
It started with a look. Something so small, yet it changed my world. My name is Emmy Mendoza and I wouldn't change a thing in my life; mistakes and all. It all led me to this moment. Standing in front of my friends and family about to marry the best person in the world. I remember when we were childhood friends when we met in elementary school. There were never any secrets between us except for how much I really liked her, even though I couldn't describe how much I truly liked her if I tried. As I looked at Olive before me right now I'm sure she had looked at me a million times before, but this time something was different. I notice her looking at me, with that million dollar smile, and I see all the things about her that make her special. Like how she looks at the world and sees all the good in it. Ever since I learned from Olive that she liked me the same way I liked her, I became obsessed with her. I watched and took notes about everything. I remembered her likes and dislikes. I watched how her moods affected how she dressed and even put on makeup. And of course, I always take mental notes on how she likes it when I kiss her. Speaking of kisses, I'll never forget our first kiss. Not just because it was our first kiss, but because it was our last first kiss, as we had never kissed anyone else again in our lives since that day. From them on we became inseparable. Our friends and family all eventually supported us fully.
Now here I am in a white dress standing across from Olive looking so beautiful in her dress. Her eyes bright with tears and the words "I do" coming from her kissable lips. We look at Sydney as she tells us, "You may kiss the bride." We kiss each other and everyone cheers. We thank Sydney for officiating our wedding and turn to go down the aisle. Everyone throws flower petals as we run towards the exit. Running to the car waiting to take us to the airport. Our honeymoon is luckily not too far away as it's at the best vacation destination we could fine in the country: Disney World. In the car, we find that Sophia is our driver. She congratulates us quickly and promptly ignores us forehead against Emmy's forehead, while holding her body in her arms, and the two girls just remained still as they simply smiled at one another.as our lips connect. Our secret, the one no one knows. Olive and I are still virgins. Oh, we've done a bit more than just kissing, but by the standards of the world we definitely haven't crossed "the line" yet . Our white dresses are earned. Saying that, well we can't wait to get to our suite at Disney. I don't know about Olive, but I don't even want to see the park until I've learned every inch of her body. We barely stop to breathe until we reach the airport. We grab our bags, say goodbye to Sophia and head inside. We get a few looks, but those are of envy and happiness. People wished us good luck and we headed straight to our gate. We check in only to find that seating has just started and we don't have to wait. Walking hand in hand we board and take our seats. I think we show amazing restraint in that we don't rip each other's dresses off and go at it. Yes we're still in our wedding dresses and we don't care.
"Olive, I love you so much and now you're mine forever." she laughs, " And so are you." I look around and admire the space, first class really is nice. We're served some drinks after take off and Olive and I watch the in-flight movie. I couldn't tell you what movie was. I'm only aware of Olive and how her cheek feels against my shoulder, her breathing when the movie excites her, or her sigh at the happy ending. It's been years and I'm still obsessed with her. I study her all the time and still try to remember everything about her. When our flight arrives, we grab our things and head for the taxi terminal. As we get closer and closer to our room, I can feel the electricity heating up between us. We have both talked long hours about what we want to do to each other in that room. All those talks about to become a reality. After checking in, we practically run to the elevator. Laughing all the way. No one else is in the lift and I can't help but kiss her and run my hands up and down her body. When the door opens there is a family waiting to get on of course. The kids just stare wide eyed and mouths open. The parents just laugh and wish us luck. We turn a bit red faced, but just thank them and head to our door. Once open we stare at each other and realize there was something we never discussed. How to cross the "threshold". Olive laughs, "We're not carrying each other." I shake my head in agreement. "No, we are in this together." I hold out my hand and she grabs it. We walk in together. No one carrying the other, both of us are equal partners. Once inside, my butterflies start to flutter. This is it. Olive pulls me into a kiss before our bags have made the thump of being dropped.
I kiss her back with equal vigor. Our hands caressing each other. Neither of us is making a move to remove clothes, but I can tell we both want to. My lips move to her neck and I find that spot that drives her wild. "Ohhh Emmy." That always makes me smile. Somehow Olive finds the zipper to the back of my dress and I feel her peeling it off my body. I find myself standing there in my underwear which is black and revealing, yet not too much so. "Dang Emmy, wherever you got those we're going again." I laugh as we embrace again. But this time I'm searching for her zipper. I need less fabric between us. Olive's lips do their best to distract me from my goal. For a while her lips are winning the battle, until I turn the tide. Her zipper eventually goes down and her dress hits the floor beside mine. Eventually the two of us are completely naked before one another. The goosebumps all over my body are a testament at how excited I am at this moment. We both take our time looking at each other. Olive studies my body as much as I study hers. I pull her to me, our bodies pressing against each other as I kiss her as deeply as I can.
This time our hands explore each other as our tongues wrestle. The feel of her skin excites me like nothing else has. Christmas morning can kiss my behind. Speaking of, I reach down and squeeze her. My touch is a signal for her lips to move. As she kisses my neck I moan in pleasure. Her lips are like silk and seem to find all the right spots. The new sensations are beyond description, at least while experiencing them. No matter what, all I need to say, it is beyond anything I could do for myself. Having someone else touch you, love you like Olive does. It was worth waiting for. We explored each other's bodies for a while. Learning what the other likes and dislikes. I think my new favorite thing is the way Olive's breath catches when I find that one spot she likes. Then I find myself on the bed and my fingers exposed to the chilled air as Olive finds that one spot I like. Then the pleasure I feel within my body explodes. My world shrinks to this moment and my body tells me that this woman with me is my God and I will do anything she says. Eventually I become aware of my surroundings and find Olive laying next to me; watching and waiting for me. She smiles when my eyes focus on her. "Hello, Love" she giggles. I pull her into a hug. "You're a God" I say echoing my earlier thoughts. She laughs and pulls back, "No Emmy. I'm yours. Equals always." I nod yes. "Always."
We made love for several more hours; each of us trying to become an expert in bringing pleasure to the other. Eventually the two of us grew too tired to move though, so we spent the rest of the evening holding each other in our arms as we slowly drifted to sleep. Olive drifted first, and as I looked at her beautiful face, all I could think about was how incredibly blessed I was to have this wonderful person in my life. I thought back to near the end of our freshmen year in high school when I considered breaking up with her. If only my past self could see this moment, this amazing wonderful perfect moment that laid ahead of her, I know she'd instantly change her mind. Then I closed my eyes thinking about the future, while also remembering the past...
A teenage Emmy then opened her eyes as a teenage Olive then jumped into the street, and pulled her away quickly from the oncoming truck. The two teenage girls then fell to the curb catching their breath. Emmy then looked at Olive with tears in her eyes as she said, "Oh my God Olive. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Olive then said, "It's okay. Just remember to look both ways next time before you cross the street." Emmy then said, "It's not that. I'm so sorry I even thought to give up on us. You know how people say they see their life flash before their eyes right before they think they're about to die? Well I just saw what I think I might have been... our future together. And after seeing what might be Olive, I want you to know right now... that I will risk everything just for the small chance what I saw becomes an actual reality. Because you are the best person I know, you are the first and last thing I think about every day, and... I love you Olive." Then Emmy kissed Olive on the lips. After a moment, the two girls' lips parted. Then Olive gently rested her forehead against Emmy's forehead, while holding her body in her arms, and the two girls just remained still as they simply smiled at one another.
