Second Chances

Chapter 7

Metro Court Presidential Suite

7:30 a.m.

Jason was looking at his bride quietly, reverently, since about 6:00 a.m. He didn't want to wake her. They had spent most of the night awake, making love, remembering what it meant to be together again, in a sexual way. It was true, they had no name sex at first and then stopped after a while. But last night had been about making love for the first time and it made the experience so much more gratifying. Regardless, of what they had back then, memories of them were etched in his brain. And when your feelings turn into true love and your body is in sync with the one you love, you are taken to places you never knew existed. Because for him – and he was sure for Carly too – it was like no time had passed. Jason remembered her body, her scent, her feel, her weight and how it felt against him. She was his. And he didn't know if his heart could hold this much happiness. It was close to bursting. He saw Carly move and stretch languidly, inching herself – if it were possible – closer to him, nuzzling her head into his neck. He inched his head down closer and smelled her hair. It had come undone sometime during the night. Or had he been the one to undo her swept up hair? He had a feeling it had been the both of them. Actually, it was an updo. An updo. Carly had giggled as he called it swept up hair. She had corrected him, teasingly, then proceeded to help him take off all the pins in her hair. He loved Carly's hair especially when she wore it down. Which was most of the time.

Carly opened her eyes and smiled, as she detached herself from her favorite place in the whole world: his neck. Carly proceeded to put her head on Jason's bare chest. Jason had his arms around her, and one of her arms was lazily resting on his abdomen. She could get used to this. Actually, it didn't matter if she got used to this. Jason was her hubby after all. They were going to be sleeping next to each other for the rest of their lives. She sighed out loud, contentedly. Life couldn't get any better than this. Jason had made passionate love to her; she should be exhausted and unable to move. Yet, while she did feel both of those things, she also felt more alive than she had in a long time. Her heart felt light, free and overjoyed. As far as she was concerned, who needed sleep? Not her. She would take Jason making love to her over sleep any day of the week. "Good morning…" Carly said, as she lightly kissed his chest.

"Morning." Jason responded, as he hugged her closer to him and kissed the top of her head.

"Did you sleep at all?" Carly asked.

"A little bit." Jason said, as he saw Carly sit up in bed, taking the sheet with her. She looked beautiful in the morning, sleepy eyes and messed up hair. "How about you?" He asked, as his hand went up to her hair, and lightly caressed it and continued on till the middle of her back. She felt wonderful and soft against his hand still. To be able to touch her whenever and wherever he wanted was something that might take him a while to get used to. He smiled as his hand continued to rub her back lovingly.

"I think I slept more than you. Because I have a feeling you've been looking at me sleep for a while."

Jason smiled. "How would you know that if you were sleeping?"

Carly rolled her eyes and turned towards Jason. "Because you're crazy and you don't know how to sleep in. No matter how tired or how much I've exerted you, you always wake up at an ungodly hour. Granted, I've only exerted you last night, really early this morning and decades ago, but you haven't changed your sleeping habits that much. Creature of habit that you are."

Jason laughed out loud. God, he couldn't believe it. He laughed out loud. It had been eons since he had done that. He turned to look at Carly and she was smiling from ear to ear. "What?" Jason asked.

"I made you laugh out loud." Carly said, excitedly. "You have no idea how happy that makes me. People say you're quiet and broody. Having it be me to make you laugh and even if it's only between us while we're in bed, it warms my heart."

"I have a feeling I am going to be laughing a lot from now on. I think a lot of people at our reception didn't expect me to be smiling much less laughing." Jason pointed out.

"Really Jason? I make you that happy – so happy, that you are going to be laughing like a man who's giddy and in love?" And before Jason could answer, she continued: "And I don't think you laughed out loud at our reception. You were smiling from ear to ear on occasion but that's okay honey…your laugh is reserved only for me. I'm still as possessive as ever so having your laugh all to myself is okay with me. Actually, I'd prefer it."

Jason pulled her down towards him and kissed her. She straddled him and smiled as she leaned down and kissed his neck. Feeling Carly flush against him, no barrier between them, was heaven. "Before we go any further, I'm hungry. I need coffee and then we can continue where we left off."

Jason sighed out loud and groaned lightly. "I'm hungry too actually. But you distract me…and this morning, I think the distraction can win over my need for coffee and food."

"We have all day Jase. We're not leaving this room. All meals will be delivered. All phones will be off. If there is an emergency, hotel staff will know how to find us. But for now, and the rest of the day, you are mine." Carly said, as she clapped her hands excitedly. "All mine."

Jason smiled up at her and sat up in bed, inching close to her. "I think PCPD will be looking for me. Bring me in for questioning." He hated to burst her bubble, but him being pulled in for questioning was going to be inevitable.

"Well, they won't find you at the house. They may come here next but let Diane deal with it today. We don't have to open our door. I just want today, Jase. Give me today."

He really couldn't say no to her. "Okay." Jason said, getting excited that they weren't leaving this room. The things he could do to her in the next uninterrupted 24 hours. Thank God for small miracles.

"Yeah?" Carly asked, afraid that she had heard him wrong. Did Jason just say yes to her? On something that had to do with business? Wow. Just wow. Jason really did love her.

"Yes." Jason said.

"Yay!" Carly said, as she got up from bed and sauntered naked through the room. She turned back to Jason and winked. "I can't find my robe."

"Uh huh." Jason said, huskily as he took her in. She was gorgeous. And she was such a tease. And he loved it. "I'm going to hide it so you can saunter all day long, without it."

Carly laughed out loud. "Saunter? You can't hide my robe. How about when they bring room service? I can't flash my staff."

Jason raised an eyebrow. "You won't be flashing anyone Mrs. Morgan. You are for my eyes only."

Mrs. Morgan. God, she loved how that sounded. "I love the sound of that. Mrs. Morgan. I could sing it all day long."

"Please don't. "Jason said, as he laughed quietly. "Dancing is enough. Now, come back to bed."

"No." Carly said.

"No?" Jason questioned.

"Not before I order us breakfast. If I go back to bed, I have a feeling you won't let me get up for the next few hours and then I won't eat till after noon."

Jason sighed and got out of bed himself. He looked around. His tux was all over the suite floor and what do you know? He couldn't even find his boxers. He didn't even know if Carly had brought a change of clothes for him. He sure as hell didn't think about it. He guessed he could put on what he had on yesterday when he got here. But he didn't feel like putting on jeans. "Carly, where are my boxers?"

Carly turned to him and raised an eyebrow: "How should I know?"

Jason raised one right back: "You were the one that threw them."

"Kinda like you threw my bra? Find one, you'll probably find the other." Carly walked to the living room of the suite and picked up a bag. "I got us some stuff from home." She opened the zipper of the weekender bag and took out some jogging pants and a t-shirt for Jason. "Here honey." She said, as she put them on top of the sofa.

"Thank you. I don't want to wear that tux or yesterday's jeans if I don't have to."

"I know." Carly said, as she put on a pair of crop leggings and a loose t-shirt. She tuned to Jason and smiled: "Can I order breakfast now?"

Jason shook his head and smiled. "Coffee, tons of it."

"Have you met me?" Carly said. "Eggs, bacon?"

"That sounds good. Bacon extra crispy. And some fruit?"

"How about a mimosa?"

Jason scrunched his nose up. "No. I'll take a Bloody Mary though."

"OOOHHH yummy." Carly said. She picked up the phone and dialed down to the direct line for room service. "Good morning, this is Carly Morgan. Can you send some of the staff up with breakfast for me and my husband? Eggs, bacon, toast, some fruit as well. Tons and tons of coffee and enough champagne and orange juice to make several mimosas and all the fixings for a ton of Bloody Mary's, please. Thank you."

Carly tuned to look at Jason and smiled. "I'm famished all of a sudden. While we wait, wanna come sit with me on the couch?"

Jason made his way to the couch and sat down, and pulled her next to him. She grabbed the remote and said: "I know that I wanted the outside world to disappear today but let's see if the news has any info on the car bomb."

Jason wrapped his arm around Carly and she curled next to him, her head on his shoulder. "I love you Jase." She said, as she turned on the TV.

"I love you baby." Jason said, as he lifted her face and kissed her on the lips. "So much." He couldn't remember if he ever called Carly an endearment. He didn't think he had. But if just felt right to do it now. He meant it. She was his wife and he would address her however well he pleased.

"Awww you called me baby without me even prompting you. I love that."

Jason rolled his eyes. "Shush…and put the news on."

Carly laughed and turned on the local news channel and there it was, the remnants of the car that Novak and Buscema were in: And in other news, Carly Corinthos and Jason Morgan got married yesterday and while they celebrated at their reception, two prominent members of echelon society perished in the church parking lot. Mr. Novak and Mr. Buscema were attending the nuptials. We will continue updating this story as soon as news trickles in. Stay tuned.

Carly shivered suddenly and curled deeper into Jason. "I am so grateful for Wu. Jason, if she wouldn't have told you, we would be dead. Not here, enjoying the morning, me in your arms. It scares me what retaliatory actions Novak's family and Buscema's are going to take. I need you to be careful, okay? You need guards with you at all times now."

Carly knew that Jason hated that but he was practical and he had actually started taking Tony with him when Carly was at the Metro Court. It seemed Jason was okay with one or two other guards watching and protecting her at the Metro Court as long as she stayed inside and she allowed two guys to go with her everywhere inside the Metro Court. But Tony would always be the one to take her anywhere outside of the house and the Metro Court. Now, she wanted someone full time with Jason. "I know, I know, but you will have to get someone full time. Maybe even two guys."

"Carly…"

"It makes sense." Carly continued, ignoring him. "You're taking over. There is more to lose. It's just us two now, and I want you to be protected. If you want Tony…" Carly offered.

"No. Tony stays with you. No arguments and no discussion. I don't trust anyone else with your life but Tony."

"He is good." Carly agreed. "That's why I think he should go with you. I can take…"

"I said no." Jason wasn't budging on this one. "I'll agree to have someone with me even though I'll hate every minute of it but you will have Tony protecting you. I want him with you. I can go about business without worrying about you if he's protecting you."

"Okay. Just promise me you will choose one or two guys that are loyal and unflappable."

"I promise."

"I want them with you by the end of the week. Sonner if you can pull it off. I know we're not clairvoyant but if you had to guess what Novak and Buscema's family were planning to retaliate, what do you think it will be?"

"We took out two of the five heads. We had to show force and we did. Renault is in jail so he can be neutralized a bit more now that Wu is on our side and has proved her loyalty. My guess? For a while both families will be scrambling to see who is going to be in charge of their organizations and will need time to plan something. Joey Novak will be a problem. That I can see already but I'm hoping that we can intercept whatever he's planning."

"He's a moron." Carly offered, with a small shrug of her shoulders.

"A pissed off moron though Carly. Which makes him dangerous." He decided not to tell Carly what he had said about her at his bachelor party. It didn't matter what Joey said or thought. But the fact that he did find Carly hot made his skin crawl. Joey would no doubt come back sooner rather than later to Port Charles to avenge his uncle. They needed to be prepared. And if Joey laid a hand on Carly, he had better hide in a place where Jason would never find him. Because as soon as he did, he would be a dead man. And there was no place in the world that Joey would be able to hide where Jason wouldn't find him if he hurt one hair on Carly's head.

"Jase…Jase, where did you go just now?" Carly asked. Jason had a look of utter determination and hatred on his face.

He hugged her tighter to him. "No one is going to hurt you, Carly. I will kill anyone that does."

"I know that. I'm not worried. Joey can't get to me if we're smart. And we will be smart, okay?"

There was a knock at the door and Carly smiled. "Enough of unwanted thoughts. At least for today. Breakfast is here."

Carly grabbed a hair tie from her makeup bag and pulled her hair in a pony tail as she walked to open the door. "Good morning, guys." She said, happily. "Roll it right in."

"We took the liberty of bringing some scones our chef made for today's brunch menu. Lemon."

"That sounds heavenly. Thanks!"

They made a beeline out the door and Carly appreciated that. She turned to Jason and said: "Coffee first? Or coffee with breakfast?"

"Coffee first." Jason said, as he was about to get up from the couch.

"Don't get up." Carly said, as she served two cups of coffee and started to walk towards the couch. "Here you go…"

"Thanks." Jason said, as he took the mug that was offered to him, then took a sip of his coffee and sighed happily out loud.

Carly sat next to him and took a sip herself. "I always do enjoy one cup of coffee before breakfast. And to think, we can have breakfast together every morning. Domestic bliss."

"That sounds about right." Jason said, as he kissed her and took another sip of his coffee. "You know I'm not much of a sweet tooth guy but that lemon scone did sound good." Jason offered, as he got up. "I want a bite. Want the rest?"

"Ah…because you know I have a sweet tooth?"

"And a salty tooth…" Jason offered. He laughed as he turned to look at her face.

"Are you saying I eat too much Mr. Morgan?" Carly asked, mocking shocked indignation.

"Not at all. You do you honey."

"Even if I were to gain twenty pounds overnight?"

"Even if you gained 50." Jason offered, as he took a bite out of the scone. Damn…they were good. "Maybe you should get your own scone, these are remarkably good."

"Uh huh…" Carly said, as she got up and joined Jason. "Why don't we just eat breakfast so we can get back to the fun part of the day."

"I knew I married you not only for your looks but for your smarts too." He took another bite of his scone then wrapped his arm around Carly's waist and offered her some of his scone by tilting the scone towards her mouth.

Carly laughed as she opened her mouth and took a bite. "These are heavenly." Carly offered. "Remind me to give our pastry chef a raise."

"Mmm…hmmm." Jason said, as he leaned in and kissed her. "Suddenly I'm not so hungry anymore. Let's eat in a little while. Right now, I just want you." Jason said, as he pulled her flush against him and picked her up.

Carly laughed. "Jason! Put me down."

"Nope." Jason said, as he carried her towards the bed and laid her down on it. He then proceeded to hover over her and kissed the side of her neck and ran his tongue up to open kiss the side of her ear. "Now what were we gonna do for an uninterrupted 24 hours?"

"You were going to do me."

"Ah yes…" Jason said, as he reached behind him and took off his own shirt swiftly. Carly's hands automatically went to his back, as she pushed him towards her. "I want you inside me." Carly said, as she wrapped her hands to the back of Jason's neck."

"That's the plan, sweetheart. For the rest of my days, I want to be inside you."

Carly sighed contentedly and whispered. "Then let's make that happen, my love."
