We were just about ready to start capture the flag. I was strapping on my chestplate when Nyssa walked over, she looked tired, worried and proud all at once.

''Sam, why are you doing this''

I looked at Drew, then back at Nyssa ''because I'm sick of Drew thinking she can walk all over us. Someone needs to put her in her place''

Her eyes looked sad '' do you ever wonder why Drew is the way she is? Maybe she was bullied and that's why she bullies others. By doing this your just as bad as she is.'' She walked away.

''Nyssa!'' I called out, but she didn't look back

Great pep talk.

I joined the other Apollo kids, I helped Austin with his armor and then strapped my dagger to my leg. I had that, plus my bow and arrow. We had to use special arrows for capture the flag, so we wouldn't actually hurt anyone. ( too badly )

''All right campers you know the rules, no maiming, no killing, no cheating etc. Let the games begin'' Chiron said, though he didn't seem pleased.

Kayla and Austin guarded our flag from the trees, Kayla was our best archer and Austin was medioker. Will and I went looking for the other team's flag. Drew was on guard duty but she saw Will and took off running after him. Getting their flag was easy enough, I started to run back when Nyssa got in my head. 'By doing this, you're just as bad as her ' she kept saying over and over again. 'Do you ever wonder why Drew is the way she is?'

''Fuck'' I yelled droping the flag.

I kicked it as far away as possible ''stupid Nyssa, why'd you have to get I'm my head'' I muttered.

I was making my way back when I saw Drew cross the boundary, then I heard the horn.''We did it'' she screamed rubbing it in my face

Oh how much I wanted punch her stupid smug face, instead, I just winked.

''Congrats princess'' and I blew her a kiss. She hated being called princess, so that would have to do.

I continued walking back, only to find both Austin and Kayla rope tied hanging upside down from a tree.

''Wtf''

''Sorry'' Kayla whispered.

I cut them done, and we talked about what happened. I told them about what Nyssa said and they agreed I did the right thing, we also agreed on pay back. Everyone was standing around, waiting for us to come out of the woods. I saw Will and was ready to throw hands. He had a huge hash across his left forearm.

''How'' I stared at Drew.

She smirked ''Moms been busy claiming new campers, and it helps when some of them are athletes''

I pulled Nyssa to the side ''Happy? You got in my head and I through the game''

I explained exactly what happened, and she immediately embarrassed me in a hug. ''You did the right thing''

And I was glad I did, while Nyssa was hugging me, I saw Conner and Travis passing out what I think were tomatoes.Everyone started shouting BOO and chucking tomatoes at Drew, she swore in Greek, which I will not translate and then stormed off to her cabin. Some of her sisters shouted insults at everyone and ran off after her.

After that, I started paying more attention to her, and at first I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. But Nyssa had really gotten to me, I needed to know why Drew was so mean all the time, who hurt? It was a burning question, I even tried asking her once.

''Hey, Drew'' I said gently, sitting beside her.

She frowned ''what?''

I faked a smile ''I just wanted to make sure you were okay''

''Why? It's not like you actually care''

She got up to walk away when I grabbed her hand, pulling her back down. ''Please, I've been bullied too, I just wanna know who hurt you''

She yanked her arm free ''UGH, don't touch me you freak''

I regretted what I said after that, it just kinda spiralled out of me like a reflex, sorta like my fight or flight instinct, or something.

''Your just an insecure girl who puts others down to make herself feel better'' said staring her down

''And your just a pretentious ex hunter who's godly parent couldn't bother claiming them for what three months?''she snickered

''Two and a half!'' but she was already gone.

I watched her more carefully this time. I noticed that she only ever took at most three bites of food before leaving the table. She spent hours in the arena training, but only during the night so people wouldn't notice. And every night she went into the woods around 11pm and came back with red puffy eyes from crying. So I decided to follow her.

She walked deep into the woods to a waterfall, where a beautifully dressed woman was waiting for her. She looked familiar, but why? The woman reminded me of someone but who?

''You're late'' she said gesturing for Drew to sit with her

''I know, I got held up. Sorry'' Drew answered quietly

I was crouched behind a bush listening, when it hit me. This must be Drew's mom, Aphrodite.

"'Have you done it yet?'' Aphrodite asked.

Drew looked like she was about to cry, her hands were shaking and she kept her gaze on the ground.''I-I can't lose the weight, I've tried everything''

Aphrodite smiled ''but my dear, you would be so much prettier if you just lost 20 pounds. Don't you agree? You know, cover girls eat nothing''

''I-''

That's when I decided to jump out from the bush, reveal myself, I couldn't take it anymore. Watching Aphrodite push Drew into starving herself, that's why Drew was so mean because every night her mom insulted her, telling to lose weight. They both looked at me.

''That's why you've been starving yourself? Drew you don't need to lose 20 pounds, your beautiful just the way you are''

''Be gone'' Aphrodite ordered ''none of this concerns you''

I'd been practicing how to resist charm-speak, it was hard but I stood my ground. I looked at Drew, her eyes said sorry, but her mouth said nothing. Tears streamed down her cheek.

''No'' I shouted ''I think you should leave''

''I don't listen to scrawny girls in pjs'' she laughed

I learned from being a camp half-blood that sometimes my singing was more comforting than my words, Will kept telling me I had a powerful voice. So I should use it, I thought about what I should sing when the perfect song came to mind.

'She just wants to be, beautiful; She goes, unnoticed she knows, no limits; She craves, attention she praises, an image; She prays to be, sculpted by the sculptor''

''Beauty is pain'' Drew said as more tears fell from her cheek

Aphrodite smiled ''exactly my dear, what's a little bit of hunger? She could go a while longer':

I kept singing ''Oh, she don't see, the light that's shining; Deeper than the eyes can find it; Maybe we have made her blind; So she tries to cover up her pain''

I took her hand and started pulling her back towards camp '' your beautiful'' I whispered ''inside and out''

Aphrodite screamed at her, yelling to come back.

So I started running, pulling Drew along with me. She was dazed by singing, and still crying, tears covered her face as she silently wept. We ran all the way back to camp, and I woke up my friends.

I explained everything to them, Nyssa hugged Drew, holding her tightly. While Pollux, Conner and Travis went to find food. Nyssa and I sat there with her the whole time, we reassured her, we comforted her and most of all we cared about what happened to her. 45 minutes later they came back with a McDonald's bag full of food. How they got it? I didn't ask.

''Eat'' I demanded as Conner set the bag in front of her

'I ca-can't'' she stumbled, wiping away her tears

''Drew you need to eat'' Nyssa whispered, trying a more casual approach.

That didn't work, we argued with her for maybe half an hour, at this point it was well past 1 in the morning but we didn't care. We weren't leaving until Drew ate something, and more than three bites. Finally she gave in and ate some food, actually she ate most of it.

''Thank you'' she said hugging me '' Thank you for standing up t-to her''

I kissed her cheek ''you're welcome your majesty" I joked "now come on your staying in the infirmary''

Nyssa looked upset, but I couldn't figure out why, just because I didn't hate Drew anymore didn't mean she was being replaced.

''Thanks guys'' I said hugging my friends ''good night, oh and Conner I did make you a bracelet too'' I tossed it at him

I said good night to Nyssa with a hug, then I spun her around ''love you''

''I love you too'' she said, her cheeks turning bright pink.

I spent the rest of the night in the infirmary with Drew, I promised nobody else would know, as long as she stopped starving herself. I also made her promise not to go talk to her mother again and reluctantly she agreed.

Great, I'm now hated by two Olympian goddesses, what else could go wrong?
