Chapter 4: Through Route 1

Ash and team were looking around observing their surroundings and were looking for a place to do some training. Finally they saw an open clearing surrounded by berry trees. "Alright guys, we will do some training here and look for pokemon who can join our team. Riolu and Pikachu come here I forgot to scan you with the pokedex." Ash said.

Riolu and Pikachu nodded and stood in front of him. Ash took his pokedex and pointed it at them.

Riolu, the Emanation Pokémon. When sad or scared, Riolu's aura becomes stronger as a way of signalling its allies."

Type: Fighting

Ability: Inner Focus

Gender: Male

Moves: Foresight, Quick Attack, Endure, Force Palm, Metal Claw

Egg move: Bullet Punch [NOT LEARNED]

Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon. It can generate electric attacks from the electric pouches located in both of its cheek.

Type: Electric

Ability: Lightning Rod

Gender: Male

Moves: Thunder wave, Growl, Quick Attack, Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt

Egg Move: Volt Tackle [NOT LEARNED.]

"Wow! You guys are powerful. If we do some serious training we might be able to defeat Brock who is the Gym Leader of Pewter City." Ash said. Riolu and Pikachu scratched the back of their heads embarrassed.

" It will take us a week to reach there. Hmm, Riolu why don't you teach Pikachu the basics of Metal Claw? Pikachu understand the process of Metal Claw and concentrate the energy to you tail instead of your hand. Take it slowly guys. Meanwhile I will be warming up and I will be doing my own workout with Riolu after he is finished." Ash said moving to do his warm up. Riolu and Pikachu nodded in agreement and the former began explaining the process.

Ash was walking beside Riolu while Pikachu sat on his shoulder happy that his team had progressed significantly. The three of them heard a scream of pain. Alarmed, they sprinted towards the direction of scream. What they saw made their bodies freeze. There laid a Pidgeotto who was surrounded by a group of Spearows who were using Drill Peck on the poor bird. Pidgeotto had several wounds and blood dripping from various parts of its body. "Pikachu use a weak Thundershock to distract those Spearows and once they are distracted paralyze them with Thunderwave. Riolu once Pikachu distracts them, get the Pidgeotto to safety and we will start healing him with Aura" Ash ordered.

"Rio Ri (On it Ash)." Riolu said.

Pika Pi (Hey losers!)." Pikachu said.

Pikachu quickly distracted the small group of Spearows and paralysed them. Riolu bought back the injured pokemon as he and Ash started to heal the bird. Ash used some berries his mother had given and gave it to the Pidgeotto. "Pid ... Pidgeo (Thank you but I don't think I have enough strength)." croaked the badly injured pokemon. Ash and Riolu paled at the statement. They shared a nod and started to channel their Aura by placing their hands on the body of Pidgeotto and all the three of them began glowing with blue energy. Pikachu and Pidgeotto watched in awe as very slowly the skin that was torn was mending itself and the latter felt some strength returning to its body. Ash and Riolu let go of Pidgeotto's body and panted in exhaustion. They had not used this much Aura in their training and they quickly sat down gulping down some water and eating oran berries. "Sorry Pidgeotto but this is the best we can do. If you let me, I will capture you and get you to a Pokemon Centre. And then I can release you if you want. " Ash offered. Pidgeotto was still tired and managed a weak nod and fainted. Ash captured Pidgeotto and placed the Pokeball on his belt.

"Rowwww" screeched a Spearow seeing as the Human and his Pokemon were distracted. Ash, Riolu and Pikachu who were about to hurry up to the Pokemon Centre were startled and began running in the direction of Viridian City. They thought that the Spearows had Left them alone seeing as they had not arrived. "ROOWWWW" screeched the flock of Spearows. "Look we just saved a Pidgeotto who was almost dead at the time we rescued him while We only paralysed the members of your flock, can't you just leave us leave alone while we go our way?" said Ash irritated about the interruption in their way. "Spea Row Ro Spearow (I was the one who told them to go for hunting)." said their apparent leader. "Well how about this, If I manage to defeat you in one on one battle you let me go and if you win I will give all my food to you and walk away?" Ash asked. The leader looked at him with narrowed eyes before giving a curt nod. Ash and Spearow take their positions opposite each other. "Go Riolu!"

"This is a distraction. After I call you back quickly go into your pokeballs, I will jump off the cliff. Our main priority is Pidgeotto." said Ash to his pokemon through his Aura bond. Both Riolu and Pikachu grumbled about the ball but had to admit it was a good plan. "NOW Pikachu, Riolu!" Ash shouted as he recalled his pokemon and jumped off the cliff.

Ash made it to the shore and was coughing out water due to the current in the river. He saw that the flock of Spearows screeching and grinned triumphantly. He knew they were going to attack them regardless the outcome of the battle. He called out his pokemon again.

"Rio ri lu rio lu (I am never going into that ball again)." Riolu said.

"Pi Pikapi Pikachu Pi (Ugh Stupid ball ruining my mood)." Pikachu bemoaned.

Ash sweat dropped at their antics. "Come on guys. Let's get going towards Viridian." Ash said. They were about to start walking but saw a girl fishing in the river. What caught his attention was her bike and thought that they could reach the city faster on it than by foot. "Hello myself Ash, listen I have an injured pokemon with me who needs to be treated at the pokemon centre, so can I borrow your bike? Thank you so much!" without waiting for an answer Ash took off in the direction of the city leaving behind a fuming red haired girl yelling at the top of her lungs to stop.

Ash and his pokemon were going at a great speed and they honestly thought there were not going to be anymore interruptions. "ROOOWWWWWWWWW" screeched the same flock of spearows as they surrounded Ash. "WHY CAN"T YOU JUST LAVE ME ALONE? I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU. FIRST YOU BEAT A POKEMON TO DEATH NOW YOU DON"T LEAVE US ALONE. ALRIGHT THEN WE WILL BATTLE! Pikachu, Riolu come on lets show these meddlesome birds." Ash yelled. Both pokemon stood in front of their trainer. "Pikachu start with a strong ThunderWave. Riolu after they are paralysed use endure." Ash spoke through their aura bond. Both did as he asked and with some effort they were able to keep half of the flock at bay. Ash knew it was a losing battle. Despite the strength of Pikachu and Riolu they were tired they had already trained for quite some time. Ash saw an opportunity as thunder began striking. "Pikachu jump in middle of them and focus your full power Thunderbolt and the lightning will help you beat those birds. And Riolu remain as backup for Pikachu." Ash spoke. "Okay Ash." came the voices of Pikachu and Riolu. Just as predicted the Thunderbolt attracted lightning and it struck down hard on all of the Spearows knocking them all out. Riolu quickly brought Pikachu away from them as he looked ready to collapse.

"Excellent work you two. We defeated an entire flock of Spearows" Ash cheered along with his pokemon. "Pikachu sit on my shoulder and Riolu come on I will carry you look very tired" Ash said and both pokemon agreed readily. Just as he turned around he saw the charred remains of the bike he had borrowed. Shaking his head he walked towards their destination. Just as he was about to continue he saw a big red and white coloured pokemon flying in the sky. "What's that pokemon?" Ash questioned as he pointed the Pokedex towards it. He frowned as he checked about the pokemon but instead saw that the pokedex had no data on it. Perhaps Professor Oak would know mused Ash.

Shaking his head to clear his thoughts he resumed walking while his two pokemon slept peacefully. And not long after he saw a sign board displaying Viridian city on it. At last they had reached their destination.

AN: First of all a big SORRY for not updating sooner but I had exams going on and I thought I would be able to write a chapter or two but I was WRONG. Next time I am unable to post something new I will inform you beforehand. NEXT CHAPTER COMING OUT TOMORROW.

So as you saw above I decided to write the pokemon's replies in bracket. Is it annoying? Or should I do it like this next chapter onwards? Do you know where to find entries for pokedex. Please PM me.

Ash will be catching all the pokemon he caught in anime except for 30 tauros. He will catch one or two. When should I make Riolu evolve into a Lucario? Should it be at the Gym Battle for the Viridian Badge? Or should he evolve in the battle between Mew and Mewtwo? Let me know. Should I wait for Riolu to evolve into Lucario to give him a name or should I edit chapter 3? Let me know. The names I have received are Seth and Rio. Which one should I choose?

Also Ash will not be the only Human Aura user who is from Kanto. You will have to wait to find out.

Sorry but I won't be doing both of them. I will be keeping a count of votes for Cynthia and Serena. It is currently 1 vs 3 respectively.

But the question is how would Ash receive a beldum? They are native to Hoenn so should I make Ash compete in a tournament and let him win a Beldum?
