...

Lake Hyila was full of waterfalls

… a mass of beautiful water...

… And a giant demon fish.

The Twilight here was massive enough to cause the water on the lake to make platforms of ice.

One platform in particular was a huge ice cavern, formed in the middle of the lake

Link stood on a platform of ice, near the cavern as he watched...

A Giant Twilight being, monster fish was circling him hard. This very fish blocked their way into the cavern.

He swam back and forth on the lake looking at Link with a giant eye, which looked a alien clock.

Amaterasu watched nervously from the shore. She had her reflector set to ablaze, just waiting to get a shot in.

The fish-like demon continued to circle Link, who simply swam around in circles.

Suddenly, it shot out of the water causing Link to fall on to the ice below.

"Stupid-!" Link got angry enough to jump up with a headbutt, and smashed the fish in it's underbelly.

It was enough for the fish to stop circling, and try to shoot some water out of it's head in an attempt to drown Link.

The water sent the fish into the air.

Link was slammed into the ice.

"Link!" Amaterasu quickly shot her reflector shield and smashed the fish with her fire shield.

The fish cried in pain and fell back into the lake.

Amaterasu soon jumped by Link.

They stared at the water uneasily.

"Think we got him?" Link asked, unsure as he painfully stood up.

"I don't think so... He'll be back." Amaterasu said with seriousness.

"Why do you say that?" Link asked, clocking an eyebrow.

"Demon's aren't killed that easily..."

Link turned to the ice cavern.

"Let's -"

Right then the fish's mouth appeared in front of them and suddenly threatened to eat them, as it's mouth was wide open with large teeth.

This caused Link and Amaterasu to freeze.

However, it was then a dark arrow fired from seemingly out of nowhere, and it pierced through the fish

. It only took a few slices, and there was blood squirting everywhere.

"Who's there?" Link asked in shock.

The two looked up to see the person who had saved them.

On a Cliffside, Link recognized was a blue Zora.

Zora were fish like people, but were smooth.

They were usually very attractive.

Her name was Ruto.

She was playful and fun loving.

She loved playing tricks on people like she did to the Hylians who once had ruled over the lake.

"Who... Are you?" Link had to ask.

"I'm Ruto. Princess of the Zora Tribe."

Link and Amaterasu seemed to relax, as the battle was over.

Link didn't think anything of it, but Amaterasu walked up and bowed her head.

"Thank you for saving us… " Amaterasu thanked.

"Hm, don't thank me. Thanks to you, that fish creature will be back to it's home a lot quicker." Ruto said with a nod. She soon jumped down to their platform and walked to her.

"That's a funny way to put it..." Link mouthed as he pointed a paw at her.

"What's your problem boy? Don't you know it's rude to point?" Ruto suddenly scolded.

Link quickly dropped his arm back to his side.

"Where are you going?" Ruto asked, without shifting her serious tone.

Amaterasu stepped up.

"We are looking for the Light vessel orb that should be in this landmark." Amaterasu answered honestly.

Link however felt something in his gut.

Should they trust this random Zora so soon?

Flagons of what looked like water shot out of the water and hit Ruto.

She quickly froze and fell backwards into the lake, which turned blue.

"What's going on?" Amaterasu asked..

"The water is cursed! Don't touch it!" Link yelled as he jumped off the platform and ran around it to find Amaterasu.

Link grabbed Ruto before she sank in the water.

"Hey, careful Link!"

"The water is cursed! If you touch it, it'll turn you into ice!" Ruto cried.

Link dropped her.

"Noted." Link mumbled. Link gestured towards the cavern . "Let's get inside."

"This curse is everywhere." Link said as he exhaled nervously.

Even water that froze leaked from the ceiling, in the cavern they were in.

"Yeah, we need to get out of this place and find somewhere else to search." Ruto expressed her opinion.

Amaterasu looked around the room they were in, looking for a way out.

"What do you think Link?"

As Link thought about it, the more he wanted to find the orb.

"That was a pretty big Twilight being we killed. The light orb has to be around here somewhere. I'm sure of it."

"That's true..."

"What are you thinking?" Link asked Amaterasu.

Amaterasu didn't answer, instead she just walked around the room, sniffing the air.

"Ammy?

"I might be able to catch small amounts of light energy..." She answered. "If we're close that is…"

Link and Ruto remained quiet as Amaterasu seemed to concentrate on sensing the location of the orb.

"I think it's close... But we need to get out of here. There are too many walls... ."

"Can you sense it?"

Amaterasu nodded and led the way.

"Come on! This way!" She called.

They searched the chamber, which was big, for any kind of exit.

There were none though.

"Where are we going?!" Link asked in worry.

"I don't know! I just know that we need to get out of here!"

Soon they entered a much bigger chamber.

There were stairs that went up and down.

"This seems like a temple of some kind." Amaterasu pointed out.

Link nodded.

"The orb must be here then." Link remarked.

"Yeah. Let's check the upstairs first." Ruto suggested.

They crept up the stairs and slowly poked his head up.

Above them was a huge open space, which was empty.

After a few moments, they heard a little squeak. They looked down to see a rat by their feet.

"Ah!" Amaterasu cried as she ran over to swatted it with her claws.

However she missed and the rat quickly hurried to a hole.

Link chuckled as Amaterasu felt embarrassed.

"It was just a small mouse Ammy." Link teased. Even Issun laughed within Link's fur.

Ruto, however, shushed Link.

"Do you hear that?"

No sooner than Link lifted his ears, did he suddenly see rats start pouring out of many holes.

They were coming out of the walls and the floor.

Ruto was the first to freak out, with a pure look of disgust.

"RUN!"

They didn't need to be told twice. They all quickly ran back down the stairs and through the exit. They did not know they ran even further down then they realized.

Ruto quickly slammed the door shut.

Now they were in a small room with a large, heavy, metal door.

"This must be the dungeon." Ruto said as he took a deep breath.

"You mean the dungeon of a dungeon... Hehe.." Issun whispered his joke. "Anyways, we're trapped in here. Now we need to decide what we're going to do."

There were three doors in the room and only one which could lead out.

Link looked between the doors.

"Which door?" Link asked Amaterasu.

"I don't know..." She responded.

"I say we try each one!" Ruto suggested, and she put her hands to her hips. "In fact, why don't you do that right now boy?"

Link smiled and shook his head.

Link walked over and opened the first door.

It was a draft from the cold, mountain air blowing on them.

"This draft might as well kill us all." Ruto grumbled as she wrapped her cloak tighter.

Link glanced at Amaterasu.

"Sense the orb?" Link asked as he walked in the room.

"I'm trying, but the energy here is so chaotic... I might have lost it..."Amaterasu admitted as she looked down, disappointed in herself.

"We could go back and get it..." Link whispered her his reassurance.

"And go through that again?" Ruto complained, obviously not wantibg to face rats or cursed water.

Link shrugged.

"Any better ideas?" Link shrugged as he asked. Ruto didn't really have any.

"I guess... But what if we don't find it?" Amaterasu asked.

"We'll keep looking."

Soon Amaterasu led back the group back to where she first sensed the light energy.

They went back to the cavern before the main part of the dungeon, where cursed freezing water still leaked. Amaterasu soon sniffed once, and she turned suddenly.

"Found something?" Link asked with hope.

Amaterasu stopped for she saw a hole in the ice.

They had to jump down to get to the place where the orb scent had fallen.

Amaterasu went slower, as there were many paths they could take.

After searching for about ten minutes, they finally found it.

"There!" Ruto pointed towards the distance as they passed an opening.

They soon saw, on a very narrow ice path, was the orb, which was on top of an owl statue.

The path was too small for the heroes to pass. Below was nothing but jagged ice spikes.

"We can't go around? There's no other way?" Amaterasu asked, feeling nervous.

"No, there is no other way." Ruto responded.

Link mumbled, as he wished that he was smaller.

Smaller...

Link laughed and he turned to Amaterasu.

"Issun! You're small enough!" Link chimed.

Issun, hearing his name, jumped from Amaterasu 's fur. He stared at the narrow path.

"Oh so now I have to do a fur ball's job?" Issun mocked in slight glee..

With lightning speed, he jumped across the narrow path and on the statue's arm.

Issun started prying at the orb.

"Careful Issun!" Amaterasu warned, feeling worried for the inch wandering artist.

"Yeah! We would hate it if you couldn't annoy us everyday!" Link joked.

With that, they all watched as the artist carefully started to lift up the orb.

However, right as he lifted it finally, suddenly a black dark arrow shot out and smashed into the orb.

"What-?!" Issun cried as he was sent backwards into the wall, and the orb flew into the air.

And it landed... right in Ruto's free hand.

Her other hand... held a bow covered in a dark aura.

She pointed it at the group, with a twinkle in her eye.

"How did you like that?" She asked.

Link and Amaterasu froze.

Link stepped up.

"Fine... Just hand me the orb..." Link said in a low tone.

"Why should I?" Ruto asked.

The other two heroes were baffled by the remark.

"Seriously?! Because you don't need it!" Link shouted, as his voice echoed in the ice.

"Oh yes, because I'm the bad guy!" Ruto snapped.

Ruto aimed her bow at Amaterasu who cowered at the arrow.

"Drop it!" She demanded.

Link stepped forward, but then Ruto pointed the arrow at Link.

"Drop... The bow…" Link ordered slowly and carefully. He had to not get shot by this young Zora. "Why are you doing this?"

"Because I can..." Ruto responded calmly. The Zora's eyes still twinkled.

She had a bad personality, but was also fairly powerful.

"Please…." Link asked.

Ruto smirked.

"Okay. Sure!"

Right then she pointed an arrow in the air, and she shot at the ice.

Right then it cracked, and a huge turret of cursed Ice water began pouring out in between them.

"Get out of the way!" Amaterasu cried as she ran beside Link.

Link backed up and let her take lead.

She had picked up this tactic from her past experiences, using fire to destroy ice.

And she was also powerful enough that it worked.

However, when the water seemed to be gone, Link looked ahead and saw Ruto disappear around the corner.

"Come on! She's getting away!" Amaterasu called as she gave chase.

Amaterasu didn't wait for the others, she just took off as fast as she could.

However, right when Amaterasu turned the corner, a large fist smashed Amaterasu, sending her into a nearby chamber.

"AH!" Amaterasu cried as she felt pain from the blow, but not as much as she expected.

She felt more pain as she skipped into a single platform, in a chamber surrounded by water.

"Oh..." She groaned as she laid on the cold floor.

She wasn't sure what had hit her, but the impact had knocked the wind out of her.

However, when she looked up, it was clear what had hit her.

Out of the water, began to form a huge being made out of water, which had an aura of darkness.

On the shoulders of this being was Ruto.

"Akuma sends his regards... In promise to spare the Zora clan!" Ruto revealed.

With that, her fist collided with Amaterasu's face, who had yet to get up.

Amaterasu rolled hard once before she rolled into the air. She was about fly into the water.

"I got YOU!" Link suddenly caught Amaterasu from behind. "This'll be over soon..." He said while holding her by the scruff.

Amaterasu smiled with a blush as Link let her gain her balance back.

Ruto, who was above them, let out a large grin.

Link frowned at Ruto.

"So what, you're really just going to betray us like this?!" Link questioned angrily.

Ruto didn't say anything, she just laughed.

This caused the pressure that was being put on them by this being of water to increase.

"I have no words..." She said sadly.

Right then the being shot water at them.

Link tackled Amaterasu.

"Move!" Link yelled as they rolled.

Ruto shot water a few more times, and each time they managed to roll out of the way.

The water froze the moment it hit the ground.

"You should've joined us! We could've used you!" Ruto crackled.

Link stood, and dashed around the water being.

"Ha! And kill Hyrule! Is that what the mighty princess of Zora is about?!" Link taunted. He jumped and tried to bite at Ruto.

She easily blocked his attacks with her fists made of water, but couldn't keep up with him at all.

"You're weak, little wolf. No offense!" Ruto said as she tried to slap Link away with a flick of the being's wrist.

Link managed to roll around the arm and try to bite Ruto.

Ruto laughed as she managed to catch Link in her water tight fist.

However, Amaterasu sent her reflector, which was set ablaze, at Ruto.

The force of it sent Ruto flying into the wall, creating a large hole in it with a smash!

"Y..you..." Ruto looked up at Link. Her eyes were filled with anger The water dropped being dropped, making the water being disappear completely.

Now it was only Ruto herself in their way.

"I am going to become a princess…. Of the new world..." Princess Ruto declared.

She clenched her hands together, creating a large amount of water which fell upon Link.

He managed to get up, but was drenched.

Link was freezing now, and Ruto pulled herself off the wall.

"Weakling!" Ruto insulted as she sent a turret of water at Link. He couldn't fight back, he was too wet.

Link was smashed by the water, and the water sent him into the water.

He fell to the water with ice debris, and he was completely submerged.

"I-I can't..." Link thought as he felt Ruto suddenly made the water rush with a strong current. "... Move…"

Ruto was going to drown him with her water powers.

"LINK!" Link opened his eyes as he soon saw Amaterasu swimming against the current to him.

"Don't! You'll be sucked in too!"

"I don't care!" Amaterasu declared. She reached for him. "I won't leave you to die! You promised, remember?!"

"Damn it...! " Link said.

He felt his love move his body. He swam to her and reached.

She grabbed him with one paw, but her other paw clawed at the water, searching for something.

Right then she felt a ledge.

As Link and Amaterasu were submerged next to the platform, Ruto felt victorious.

She smirked and started to walk away.

"ON GUATD!" Issun suddenly cried, with his small sword, and he sliced a very small cut on Ruto's arm.

She cried out in agony for a split moment, but then she realized the pain was coming from her freezing arm.

She quickly liquefied it with her water magic, and then shot it at him.

Issun, being very small, easily bounced away and came at her.

This time he cut her cheek.

She cried out, and again liquefied her cheek.

Ruto began laughing.

"You're wasting your time, fly! I don't feel like dying today!"

Issun chuckled as he bounced in so many spots, Ruto could next keep up with him.

"Kill?! Oh no. I wouldn't kill!" Issun then jumps at the entrance and slashes a crack at the entrance.

Ruto's smile fades when she sees her entrance becoming blocked as water crashes.

"Only distracting you will bring us victory!" Issun declared as he slashed her other arm.

She cried out and blasted him with a bolt of cold water.

He wasn't fazed as he rolled and rolled.

"We will rule over you all! You will be our slaves and do what we say!" Ruto declared as she blasted more water.

"Hey!"

Ruto turned.

She was met with the two wolves she thought she had defeated.

They were already at Ruto's range.

"SHUT-" Both Amaterasu and Link headbutt her. "-UP!" They both shout.

Ruto felt stunned as she hit the ground. Ruto held her head as she stood back up.

Ruto struggled to make another barrier made out of water.

"You two can't defeat me! I am... I am..." The priestess was at a loss for words.

"Hurting? Desperate?!" Amaterasu yelled at her. "We get that, but listening to Akuma is the wrong way to bring peace!" Amaterasu preached.

"Why can't you just listen?" Ruto shouted as she tried to blast the two wolves, but they jumped away from her.

Link was running in a circle again.

"All Akuma wants is to destroy this world, Ruto!" Link jumped at Ruto.

Ruto tried to make a barrier, but she was too late.

Link's forceful headbutt broke through the water, and the water and ice shattered.

Link managed to land the powerful headbutt with a crackling sound.

Ruto hit the ground, with a hint of blood from her forehead.

Link and Amaterasu panted as they felt they had finally beaten Ruto.

However there was a loud crack!

A fissure appeared from where Link smashed, and it soon became a deep chasm.

Amaterasu heard a sound behind her as she saw the fissure link to the one from before.

Link then realized what was happening.

The entire cavern was breaking apart.

He quickly ran to Amaterasu.

"Ammy! The cavern's caving in!"

"What?!" Amaterasu walked up beside Link, eyeing everything. "Oh no!"

"Shut u-!" Ruto tried but Link soon grabbed Ruto by her collar and started to drag her.

"We need to get out of here!" He ordered.

"What? I can't even talk!" Ruto whined in a spoiled hiss.

"Trust me! You don't want to talk her! " He quickly reassured and continued to drag her.

Ice and the water kept busting in random spots as it became more and more unstable.

Amaterasu was quickly behind Link.

As the cavern collapsed, they made it out just in time.

It came down with an icey crunch…

… and then silence.

They took the time to breath.

They caught their breath as they felt the cold from the breeze of Lake Hylia.

Out in the middle of the lake was the remains of the ice cavern that was destroyed.

It was as if the lake was pretty much back to normal.

Link grunted as he dropped Ruto roughly.

He was breathing heavily.

"Damn, that was close."

"You... you could have died, you know." Ruto said softly.

Link eyed Ruto hard. Her comment made angrier.

"Says the one who just tried to kill us?!" Link bent down fast and he snatched the orb with his teeth from her cloak.

"Listen Ruto. I get what you're trying to do, I really do... But the people need their hero. People need someone to believe in." Link explained as he was walked towards Amaterasu. "Not some cynical asshole who wants the destruction of this world.."

Amaterasu nodded.

"Indeed. We don't need the destruction of this world, just its freedom for your kind. This orb will allow us to do just that." Amaterasu finished for Link.

Link slowly walked up to Amaterasu, and he put it in her mouth sweetly.

Amaterasu blushed.

"It'll allow us to walk in this world freely…. " Amaterasu finished further as she put the light orb into the Light Vessel.

With those final words, Link and Amaterasu went to leave.

Ruto got on her knees.

"W-What?!" She punched the ground with both her hands. "Y-You're just going to…. Leave?!"

Ruto didn't notice Issun was near by.

"Seems like it!" Issun soon hopped away. "See ya fish breath!"

As Link walked towards the way out of Lake Hylia, he heard Amaterasu behind him.

"You've grown stronger." She whispered sweetly.

"Well, you have too." He replied with a smile.

"Indeed." She continued.

A camp fire was set that night, and it was bigger then it had been in forever.

That was because Link and Amaterasu were still wet and cold, so they made sure the fire was going to warm them up.

Link came to Amaterasu with his cloak in his mouth.

"Here you are!" Link chimed as he wrapped his black cloak around Amaterasu.

She gave a small smile as she snuggled into the cloak.

"Thank you."

"I'm glad you like it."

Soon they stared into the fire.

Link recalled how Amaterasu saved Link, risking her life, full of heart.

If it wasn't for this beautiful wolf, he would have drowned and froze to death.

Link blushed at how determined and strong she actually was.

It was times like this he wished he could speak. To tell her how beautiful she is, that her hur smells good, and that her eyes are so beautiful…..

Link scooted closer to her.

He felt like this was the first time he ever really sat next to a girl he liked before.

And not just any girl, but the one he liked.

Loved..

"Ammy..." He whispered softly.

Amaterasu turned to him, full of wonder.

"Yeah…? " She said softly.

They looked into each other's eyes.

Link slowly scooted even closer, and he leaned on to her with his head.

They looked into each other's eyes as the moon peeked out from the clouds.

"Ammy…?" He asked.

"Yeah...? " She asked again even more sweeter.

"Have I ever told you... you are the most beautiful being in the universe... That nothing can compete?" Link whispered sweetly.

For a moment, all Amaterasu did was place a paw on his cheek. They were both blushing red.

"Well,... You could compete with me….." She responded shyly.

"Nah... No one can beat you." Link said. "My heart loves you and only you."

Link soon took her paws softly, and Link laid her on her back.

Link laid on top of her, chest to chest.

Their faces were only an inch apart, and the light from the fire glinted off of Amaterasu's eyes, making them sparkle.

They stared into each other's eyes deeply. Their love shined in the glow of their aura around them.

Link smoothly moved, and couldn't resist anymore.

He brought his lips up to her and planted a very passionate kiss.

He could taste the hint of tongue in her mouth, and it sent a little jolt of desire right to his heart.

Amaterasu wrapped her arms around him and returned his kiss with the same passion.

Their lips moved together for a good few seconds, and then Link slowly drew back.

They just stared into each other's eyes, full of emotions.

"Ammy..."

"Yeah..."

"I love you so much..." He mumbled.

He suddenly felt sadness that he couldn't just love her.

No he had to be powerful for her. Strong enough to keep her forever.

No matter who he had to face.

He hated that….

Did fate hate him?

Link tried to hold back his tears, but he couldn't.

They started rolling down his cheek slowly like little pebbles.

"I'm sorry I hurt you..." Link cried.

Amaterasu didn't reply, but soon tears rolled down her cheeks, from watching him have so much emotion.

She had the same wish and desire….

She grabbed his cheeks and brought him down into another kiss.

The firelight shined off of their sparkled lit eyes, filling them with a crimson glow.

They held each other's faces and poured all of the feelings and emotions into the kiss.

Link drew back again.

"I will never let you go.." He promised. "I will fight the world if I have to... But I won't lose you."

"Never..." Amaterasu promised in her cutest coo.
