Chapter 5: New power
Oscar grabs the baton from his belt checking its design before smiling and placing it back on his belt. 'Alright then you should start exploring the area' says Cu as Oscar looks around before going towards what appears to be a market. He walks over to the doors and pushes them open before walking around. He sees that the shelves are either empty or have very few items in them while some are tipped over. He keeps his hand over his baton as he goes in deeper to the store making sure to stay in light that's shining down from a hole in the roof. "So any tips you want to give me?" Ask Oscar as Cu appears next to him checking around. 'Nothing but to keep your guard up' says Cu as Oscar gives another deadpan look before moving on.
Oscar continues to walk not really paying attention to the sounds around him, he stops after hearing giggles of a girl. He looks around not seeing anything but continues on while trying to find out the origin of the sound until he gets hit on the back of his head making him fall face first to the group. "Ow!" Slightly yells the farm boy trying to stand up but is hit again to the floor harder, hearing the laugh again thinking 'Ok the fuck' he thinks to himself.
He grabs his baton and holds it in a reverse grip while waiting for the thing to strike again. He waits for a few seconds before hearing something drop, he quickly turns around swinging his baton and feels it hit something but drops it in the process. He grabs his hand in pain as a crash happens behind him. He quickly grabs it off the floor and holds it in a defensive manner as the creature gets up and turns around giving Oscar a look at it. It had the body of an attractive woman but with feet that looked like roots that had been ripped out of the ground only for them to bend back and begin growing up it's legs and covering the minimum of her waist and leaving it's middle section bare, the chest area was covered by what appeared to be bright yellow petals that formed from its neck and went around covering very little, it's face was covered in by a mask that hid any features it had only showing a small but wide frown and two sad crescent eyes.
Oscar looks at this plant women thing as he stands up and gets into a fighting position when 'That's what you call a fighting position you need to train' snarks out the persona making a tick mark appear on Oscar but before he could retort he suddenly feels cold wind around him and moves out of the wave as a ice spike came out of the ground, close to impale him.
Oscar then jumps back as the plant unleashes another ice spike towards him, he nearly trips up on the landing but is able to balance himself quick enough to begin running towards the shelves but dives for the ground the moment he hears the ice behind him breaking but still gets hit on the back before feeling a liquid slightly pooling up. He grunts before getting up and taking another hit on his right side, he puts his hand on the wound and uses his left to grab the mirror on his left "Persona!" Yells Oscar as he crushes the mirror in his hand calling forth his persona.
Cu appears and lunges to stab the plant women but the thing dodges out of the way and summons more ice spikes to impale the persona who spins his spear to break them. "Zio!" Yells Oscar commanding his persona to use the electricity attack. Cu forms a ball of lighting and launches it to the Shadow who is just laughing.
Cu gains an annoyed expression as he launches the ball at it only for it to jump back but as it does Cu smile as the ball hits the ground it creates a flash blinding the plant causing it to cover its eyes and hit the wall, Oscar sees this and runs towards it ignoring the pain from his body and gets on top of it pinning it to the ground before beginning to repeatedly pounding his baton into its face.
After a few more hits the shadow mask breaks killing it, the farm boy breathes in and out. He smiles at it but his persona cuts his mood short "Ya ya great job to beating to a pulp a shadow but let keep focusing on your training and exploring the island" he says before vanishing into glass particles.
Oscar goes back to looking through the store, after going through a couple of isles he finds bandages and covers his wound, he then takes some and stuff them in his jacket pockets. "Note to self bring a backpack or satchel next time" he then walks to the entrance of the store before looking at the buildings around him. He takes a look around before stopping at what looked like a police station "maybe I can find something there" says Oscar as he begins walking to the building he stops in front of it to see the signup top which has faded so much that it's practically impossible to read, he then looks at the door before walking in and searching for a light switch, eventually feeling it on the wall and flipping it only for some of them to turn on causing him to sigh but continue on.
Timeskip brought by Oscar looking through a mirror to see someone with glowing marks on their body punch a spirit in a hospital room. Oscar walks into what appears to be the chief's office and begins searching the desk, opening the draws and finding nothing in them before opening the last one and finding a key ring with one key on it. He takes the key before looking around the slightest dark room before he sees the light bouncing off of a lock on a door on the left, he takes the key and grabs his baton slowly walking towards the door. He reaches it and inserts the key before slowly turning it with his baton ready to strike whatever might come out. The lock clicks, he then begins turning the knob before throwing the door open and jumping back to wait for something to jump out. After a few seconds of waiting he looks into the closet to find it dark but seemingly empty. He walks into it with his hands forwards until he feels something metallic and thin on his left hand, he grabs it and pulls it down turning on a light. The room quickly lights up as Oscar sees a wall full of pictures of naked people with bruises and scars on their bodies, he covers his eyes and begins walking backwards but slips and hits metal shelves knocking a bunch of sex toys and papers onto himself, he quickly gets the things off him and stands up only to look down and see part of a map, he immediately goes for it and finds a map, he looks around more to see others scattered along the floor with other papers and a couple of folded ones.
Oscar start grabbing the papers off the floor wild making sure he doesn't grab any sex toys or condoms off it. He looks at the pieces he could grab and before he could start Combining them he heard a load screech from far away "Oh fuck i need to get out of here" he says shoving the papers into his pockets and start running away. He got a good distance going but suddenly stops when he got hit in the back with wind, making him schreck in pain "Why those that hurts so much more than last time" he screams in the ground seeing two shadows on the air both resembling small hummingbirds with their wings being small blades, both holding with their talons what looks like to be a bell and on the chest are a feminine crown shape mask with the numeral number off 3 on it.
He could hear his persona grunting in pain but staying calm "Shit to answer your question I'm weak to wind and curse/Dark attacks so if you get by any of those you will feel double the pain and damage so be careful!" He says before Oscar looks at the pill thinking to take one but doesn't get the chance before he needs to roll away from a blade of wind aimed at his neck. Both shadows dive to Oscar who immediately summons his persona with Cu using his spear to block the attack.
"Ok then don't get hit! Understood" says Oscar as he jumps to the side avoiding another blast of wind. "So any suggestions for what I should do huh, cause last I checked I can't fly!" Yells Oscar as he tries to hit the birds that dived towards him but misses leading to him gaining new cuts on his body. "Alright I know I've said this a lot today but Zio!" Yells Oscar as Cu shoots a lighting bolt at one of the birds only for it to shake off the blast and Oscar to gain a panicked expression on his face. "Now would be a good time to take the pill" says Cu as Oscar nods and looks around for the case before spotting the case and making a break for it.
He looks at the pills with Cu still trying to kill the shadows, Oscar got behind a large tree as a flurry of wind blades past him not hitting him at least but to his persona hearing a large sound of glass breaking making the farm boy screams bloody murder with blood dripping from his nose falling to the ground holding his head 'Fuck fuck it hurts!!' But by his instincts of survival and adrenaline he was able to take one of the pills as a new voice inside his head but this time it sounded female 'Dont worry young one let the lord protect thee, now call on my name' he looks up seeing the two hummingbirds floating around him and humming in a mocking manner about to end his life. he raises his hand as his mirror appears between the birds "Angel!" He yells, crushing his hand and making the mirror shatter as well sending a large shockwave pushing the two flying shadows away. He looks up seeing a female angel but he never expected to look like this.
A pale female presenting figure that is mostly naked floats in place by two soft and white wings beating in place. Blonde hair that comes to about the shoulders frames the face while a black, leather blindfold with a white eye symbol covers the actual eyes. A black leather choker is around the neck and a similar band of leather goes down the center of the torso, connecting to three black leather bands - one around the breasts, one around the bottom of the rib cage and the last looking like a pair of boyshort underwear. A long chain is attached to the choker. The arms are behind the head, the left hand in the air above the head while the right one is completely out of view. She extends her hands out and on instinct "Hama!" yells the farm boy as sigils of light appear around the two birds and the light consumes both with a loud shriek.
As the light dies down Oscar sees that the birds are now turning into shadow particles as Angel turns towards Oscar. "Dia" is all he says as a green glow surrounds him healing his wounds. He walks up to the birds and looks at where the birds were before, breathing a sigh of relief, he then turns towards his new persona. "Thank you Ms-" "Angel" says the woman introducing herself to the boy. "Thank you Angel that really helped me out" says Oscar as Angel just chuckles "Don't worry about it, just call me when you need the power of light or some healing" says Angel as she disappears.
With that interaction done and knowing that if he stays any longer he will most likely get killed decided to retreat but before he could he sees something on the ground where the shadows were. He leans down and picks up the objects, "what this?" He ask out loud the first item look like a rock with some weird symbols on it and what looks like a crystal in the form of a dagger 'I suggest taking this items young one' he hears angel kind voice along with his meain persona 'Ya keep it shit' he hears him groan in pain.
Oscar noods and starts running to the mirror before anything else happens. He reaches it breathing heavily; he looks at himself and sees his clothes being damaged but fixable. "This was rough but at least we have something to work with" he enters, not noticing a giant shadow behind the trees with loud cracks can be heard "I'm a toy everything is a toy to be used break break break break!" Says the figure before disappearing.
