I may have made a mistake.
I just realized the reason why All Might worked as a symbol of piece. He was already a part of a system that allowed him to be a hero, which is something that I don't have. The only thing I can think of that is similar are huntsmen, but I would need to be accepted into an academy for that.
I made a proclamation defining myself as a vigilante, as a criminal who hunts down other criminals. That could certainly make it difficult to reach my goal.
I thought over that as I made my way over to my factory training ground. I had a new idea on how to use one of my quirks.
Creation allows you to create any non-living item as long as you know the chemical composition, as well as having the raw fat in your body to make it. I got the idea when I remembered the weights that was used in Dragon Ball and Naruto. This gave me an idea on how to use Creation.
I will never be able to use this quirk to its best potential, it's simply just not in my nature. This kind of quirk requires a mind for both strategy and engineering, two things that I am particularly weak at. I can't really think outside of the box in the same way that characters like Momo can, so the quirks usefulness is significantly less for her than it is for me.
I do, however, have use for it in everyday situations and in the current one. I've created clothing and suits, which had taken a large amount off of my potential bills. I will likely never have to worry about going out to purchase as several thousand Lien suit, as I can just eat a tub of ice cream and make a copy at no extra cost.
Another way it can help is to create training weights for myself, particularly ones made of osmium. Osmium is the densest and heaviest metal to be known to us currently, with one cubic meter weighing 22590 kilograms. Using this material will allow me to have heavy weights that aren't overly large and block movement.
If it wasn't for Creation this would never work, because this shit is super expensive. The price is somewhere around four hundred dollars per troy ounce mark. Even if I can't use it for weights, I might be able to sell it for a lot. Though if I really wanted money, the best way would be to make precious stones and other luxury items and sell them for cheaper than the brand stores. To be honest, this quirk is just more useful for me outside of combat than it would be in combat.
I went through the process of creating the (very heavy) weights and got to work.
A short four-hour workout later and I was at the taco shack (Which will now be referred to as Shell Shack). I was biting into the first taco when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned and was now looking into the mixed colored eyes of Neo. Though it was just her, Roman was nowhere to be seen.
"Hey there, how've you been?" I asked, to which she rolled her eyes and shrugged.
"So not good, but you won't die?" I said, getting an affirmative nod in response. She then went and sat down at the table across from me. I finished off the taco and went to grab another. Neo made some motions with her arms. They weren't any sign language forms, at least I don't think so.
"You're gonna need to write it down. I can't understand you, sorry." I said. Neo gave a silent huff and started typing out on her scroll. When she finished, she spun it around and let me see the screen. Note to self, buy a scroll when I get the chance.
"Three of our guys got busted by some vigilante. It's all over the news and Roman's trying to deal with the blow to his reputation. I didn't want to deal with him like that, especially since one of his business deals got busted so I went out." She had typed. Damn, I'm really messing up Roman's life. Maybe I should give him an apology card… Actually, probably not a good idea.
"So you decided to spend some time with me?" I asked her. She nodded and stood, right as I was finishing my last taco.
"You know, I feel like that meal could use something extra, like ice cream. Wanna come with?" Neo's eyes literally glowed with excitement, and she immediately grabbed my arm and dragged me along with her in a way that showed off the strength of her tiny body.
She ended up dragging me to this cold stone looking place call Milky Way Creamery. It was the middle of winter so there wasn't much business going on, and the employees seemed to just be passing the time on their scrolls.
We ordered a pair of cones (Neapolitan for her and sweet cream for me), I felt somebody tap my shoulder. When I turned around it was two young teenagers, one of which had his scroll out and recording.
"Hey, you're the guy in the suit who punch Whitely Schnee right?" He asked. I took a closer look to see that he had green scales surrounding his eyes. A faunus.
"Yeah, that is me. What about it?"
"Why did you risk becoming an enemy of the Schnee by hitting him back?" He asked. This seems to be some form of amateur interview. I raised my hand, signaling him to stop.
"There wasn't really any particular reason behind my punching of the Schnee son. I was doing my job of stopping violent disturbances. I don't believe in treating others differently based on their origin, if they misbehave then it's my job to stop them." I said, which seemed to grab their attention. The two amateur interviewers walked of, seeming content.
I then turned to see that Neo had not only already eaten her own ice cream cone, but mine as well.
She gave me a smug grin. She knows what she did.
Blake had watched the end of the short interview on repeat for the past hour now. Every time she did it felt like a small spark of hope had lit up in her chest.
"I don't believe in treating others differently based on their origin"
"I don't believe in treating others differently based on their origin"
"I don't believe in treating others differently based on their origin"
She looked up from her scroll and made her way out from her tent. She walked across the yard filled with white fang members and into another tent. Inside she saw Adam and his lieutenants making plans for raids of the Schnee shipments.
She waited for them to finish, and made her way up to Adam as his subornments filed out.
"Adam, take a look at this." She said, showing Adam the interview. As it played, Adam seemed… off. Like he didn't really care about what was playing. Why would he not? This was a sign that they were achieving their goals. The video ended and Adam just went to go work on their maps.
"That's nothing more than a human doing something to gain favor." He said, sounding empty as he spoke.
…What?
"Adam, why would someone fake a statement like that?" She asked. Adam made a sharp turn to her, an angry expression on his face, one that scared her.
"The same damn reason that the filthy Schnee would lie about their treatment of the faunus, and why Atlas refuses to go and reveal them. It gives them the trust of the weak minded. They manipulate us and trick us into trusting them with power, and then they slaughter us with the power we give them. It's happened time and time again and that's why we're fighting them" He spoke, almost on the verge of shouting.
"B-but what about faunus rights? Wasn't the end goal to live equally?" Blake asked, her voice feeling like it would collapse on itself at any moment. Adam didn't even seem to hesitate before he practically yelled.
"Those monsters have already shown that they will never accept us being at their side, and they will stop at nothing to put us down. There is no chance for 'equality' with them." He said. Blake instantly felt like her whole world had been shadowed. When had this happened? There's no way Adam would just refuse to accept this, even as a concept. Did he really think this?
Blake just left the tent, now quiet and more confused than ever. Was she really on the right side anymore?
She needed to think.
