"What luck right Bubs if we had gone to the mall we would have had to evacuate cause it borders D block." Robin sighed in relief, taking a drink of her hot chocolate.
"Right." Bubbles nodded but she knew that this was not at all ideal and Pink was going to chew her out for being late.
"So those doctors, how do you know them anyway?" Robin asked casually even as the 'attention warnings' blared.
"Oh i don't, not really but one of them helped the Professor after his accident." She lied smoothly; it was second nature by now. Making up quick excuses for odd behavior or strange absents.
"Really?" Robin asked leaning forward, her interest being strangely peaked; she knew that the accident wasn't an openly discussed topic.
"Well only a bit he gave him advice since the Professor wanted to keep it personal." She deflected suddenly, aware that she should have come up with a much better excuse for looking like a stalker to the doctors.
"Blue?" A voice picked up through her com.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom, okay?" She excused herself, causing Robin to laugh about her having a small bladder.
Walking into the bathroom she kicked in the stall doors to make sure she was alone. "I'm at the hospital im locked in" she responded a growl of annoyance echoed from the other side.
"You were checking in on those doctors weren't you?" Green's voice filtered Bubbles could hear a gargled grumbling in the background. "Well that was stupid you know hospitals go on lock down!" Green bearded her.
"How was I supposed to know there was going to be a challenge today and those doctors were almost kidnapped last night, they were going to be sold! So I'm sorry I had to check on them." She snapped her hands clenching into a fist she could feel her blue nails prick into her skin, her reflection expressing her anger back at her with furrowed brows and narrowing eyes.
"Yeah whatever that didn't happen so can we focus on this big ass Cyclops." The sound of the wind wheezed through the com telling Bubbles exactly what Green was doing.
"Green, wait we need to learn more about the enemy!" Pink called as the sound of a sizzling zap broke through the coms.
A large boom echoed harshly as Green plummeted to the ground. "So you got tricks huh?" Green coughed. "You're not the only one who's got tricks."
"Listen Blue if you're at the hospitals the doctors work at then there is an exit door on the roof. Just don't get caught going up there and you should be fine." Pink explained as another crash echoed.
"Grey were you at?" Green grumbled into the coms as another laser was shot her way.
"Making sure Blue has her gear."
"Well, do that quick and get down here. We could really use those chains."
Pink analyzed the creature. It was rather large, roughly 20 feet tall with a muscular build. Despite this its ears were its most prominent feature, strangely large but very human looking. It only had one eye that had the ability to shoot lasers that was currently chasing Green down like a cat would a red dot. Though unlike the fake dot Green had been caught successfully a few times.
"Green, Alpha 2" she called over to her brutal teammate hoping she would follow instructions. It was a 50/50 with her usually.
"Got it" relief flooded over her as Green got into position.
Getting into her own she sucked in a breath blowing out a frosty breath. Ice breezed out coating the cyclops feet. Behind her she could hear the ground begun to rumble as vines shot out not one but thousands. Encircling the cyclops wrist Green drove her fisted hands down willing her strength into her vines forcing them down the cyclops right alongside them.
"Good now let's hit him where it hurts" Pink called through gritted teeth but Green was already one step ahead of her flying right for his one eye.
"Wait Green he's just going to" though it was pointless the compulsive girl just wouldn't listen to reason and as predicted the cyclops shot her down. He then moved over the vines then the ice, riding himself of his restraints. His free hand crashed into Green sending her flying.
"What the hell?" Green sputtered as she crashed into the pavement of the road far beyond the sandy beach.
"Stop being so reckless you're getting too close to the city!" Pink's voice was stern as she reviewed the street that now had a Green size dent in it.
"Let it have a bit of the city they'll say it was an 'earthquake' anyway" Green hissed bitterly.
"Still we need to keep it as untouched as possible," Pink shouted.
The beast stopped for a second looking at town then the girls then back at the town. Its lips curved up into a wicked grin as it shot a beam at one of the sky scrapers.
"Well I'll be, he has a brain," Green snarked.
"And he knows how to use it," Pink said in a cautious tone.
"Blue and Grey are getting close."
"Girls listen this is no longer 317 this is 831" Pink could hear the gasp from her toughest teammates.
"Are you sure?" Green asked, looking at the thing with sudden excitement.
"Yes I'm sure this thing isn't anything to play games with. If it gets into the city the damage control we'll have to take will be catastrophic." Pink answered, feeling the presence of her other two teammates she looked back at them.
"Alpha 7 is now in effect, do you hear me?" Pink told them, gaining only understood nods.
"Let's have some real fun!" Green whooped her hand going to her left wrist ripping off the leather band letting it drop to the sand.
"Remember those two only the ones on your ankles stay!" The leader warned knowing what this did to her green team mate.
Power was flooding through her body so fast that she didn't even hear her leader.
Vines began to snake down her arms, contracting the bunching up until it formed a pair of boxing gloves. She was the first to strike, shooting up, knocking the beast in its windpipe forcing it to stumble; she didn't stop there; flashing behind the monster she brought her fist into his back launching her forward.
"My turn" Blue chirped cupping her hand in front of her face she let out a sonic scream compressing the sound closing it into a tight little ball turning it into sonic energy. Opening her hands she let the energy float for a moment before clasping her hands back together compacting the energy as if it were a snowball tightening it into a smaller ball before hurling it at the beast. A thunderous sound erupted as it made contact with the cyclops causing it to scream in pain stumbling back covering his abnormally large ears with his hands.
Green was quicker dropping to the ground, her vines shot up faster than before. The previous broken vines began mending together seemingly coming to life; they encircled themselves coiling like a giant serpent wrapping around his crimson wrists and waist of the cyclops allowing Green to pin his hands down.
"No, I don't think so! You're going to take it just like I had to take that damn laser!" Green told the "Give him another one Blue!"
The blue girl moved back taking in air she could feel her sonic scream building into a thunder clap. The cyclops head swiveled, twitching this way and that. He had of course heard the tales of the girl's nasty scream and how it made one's eardrums bleed. His hands worked wildly to get out of the vice grip of the snake of vines.
He was the champion on his island; he had come to the shore to earn the rights of his people. He was not going to let these little brats belittle him! Letting out a roar he leaned his head back finding the girl up in the clouds. He knew she would be his biggest problem. Her scream began to leave her lips but he couldn't let that scream touch him. Shooting his laser perfectly in the middle of the sound waves right into her mouth.
The girl choked the moment the laser searing the back of her throat. Her teammates watched in horror as the girl fell from the sky dropping her somewhere on the dock.
"Blue!" Her teammate called after her but there was no response.
"Bastard!" Green bellowed, turning her attention back to the enemy but it was too late her vines had loosened in her shock and the cyclops had broken free.
With one big yank he pulled the vines up by the roots whipping them around he caught the green girl in the chest. His movement was forcing the green girl to stay on the offensive.
"How is she?" Pink asked Grey through the coms.
"Her breathing is much better from when I arrived. She's still wheezing, it looks pretty serious but she's awake confused but awake."
"You've really got some nerve, you red bastard." Green's voice echoed Pink only had a moment to turn before what sounded like a metaphor collided with the ground sending sand flying up into the sky.
The monster cried out as sand filled its eyes. It was brilliant Pink had to admit with all the sand whipping around them the cyclops wouldn't be able to see but they had masks on to protect them from this very thing. Turning she was about to give the girl praise for the smart idea but stopped in her tracks catching sight of green dangerous eyes glowing in the midst of the sand.
The sound of an object colliding with another erupted the cyclops screamed his body colliding with the ground of the beach.
"Grey we have a problem." Pink muttered into the coms terror rose up her body as a snarl ripped through the air. It wasn't from the creature.
Time seemed to still as a horrible cracking popped through the air.
"Green!" Pink bellowed, forgetting her comrade on the coms.
Zipping through the sand she ignored the way it felt as she came to the large foot of the red creature. Above it a dark figure holding a large hammer reeled back preparing to strike again. Terror filled the leader as her pink eyes surveyed the green glowing eyes about to literally bring the hammer down. Quickly she shot up toward the dark figure who didn't even see the pink light.
Pink's arms encircled her teammate's waist as she was about to throw her body down on the poor creature under her. Pink had to fight to keep Green up pulling her the opposite direction.
"Green! Green calm down." Pink pleaded, her voice wasn't stern and it wasn't an order the leader was almost begging.
"Blue is alright okay she's not hurt. You have to trust how much stronger she is now!" The figure in her arms launched at the red creature again, nearly slipping out of Pink's grasp causing her to adjust wrapping her around her shoulders.
"No, don't kill him!" Pink shrieked. "Blue wouldn't want that she'll be upset when she gets here!"
The figure slowed, finally her thrashing eased. Looking over Green's body Pink noticed that she didn't have a single blocker on. That alone was almost enough to have Pink panicked but she calmed, holding the girl with one arm. She began removing her own blockers, forcing the necklace around her comrade's neck. She could feel earlier frustration start to freeze up her insides.
Ignoring the feeling she held Green closer to her slowly going to the ground. When they were finally settled black chains shot from the ground forcing the leather onto the girl. When all the blockers were on her Pink seat the girl down where Green collapsed to the ground.
Her teeth were enlarged sharper and her nails had broken out of her gloves. Her cheek bones held a green hue from where her vines tried to sprout life other than that it seemed to had only been at the start of her transformation.
"W-what happened to it?" Blue asked in a broken voice, eyeing the cyclops who was pinned to the ground by vines.
"Don't talk too much Blue." Grey sighed, nudging the youngest teammate.
"The vines...will wither soon. Don't worry Blue, it's just a broken rib." Green tried to comfort the girl she had seemed to come to sitting up; she stared wide-eyed at her blockers. The smoky grey cuffs were the only thing pressing them to her skin the snaps that once held them together were completely ripped off.
She was disoriented and drowsy but she had a full memory at least.
"I'd say more like shattered but we don't know. We should get him back to the isle. This is obviously a loss." Grey said softly putting Blue down inspecting the Cyclops
Floating around she inspected the extremely bruised chest of the cyclops. She didn't expect Blue would want to see the inflamed blotchy surface.
"I'll take him." Green said, trying to get up but was stopped by the smoky chain that held her wrist.
"Gray let me go. I'm fine." Green told the girl sourly.
"No Green you should never exert yourself after going into that state. Not to mention all the blockers you have on will make using your powers have a negative effect and you know it." Pink said in her matter of fact I'm always right voice.
"Besides that's not me, I'm only keeping those cuffs on you. Not being able to get up is a you problem."
"I'm fine I always wear blockers, this isn't anything new to me, '' Green argued, though she couldn't even get to her feet.
"No Green Grey can deliver him." The girl's head popped, her hair bouncing from the quick movement.
"Oh come on she'll probably get half way then dump it in the water." Green growled rubbing her fingers through her black disheveled hair, a thorn caught in between her fingers causing her to groan.
"No, she'll deliver him like we're supposed to. She will not just drop him in the water." Pink argued back though she didn't have complete confidence she couldn't let Green see that.
"Think this guy has gills or something? Do you see any Blue?" Grey asked her obvious attempt at dry humor not appreciated by the leader.
"See she doesn't even want to do it, you should at least let the person who will take the job seriously." Green grumbled now pulling at the chain that was connected to her foot.
"No, you're going to see White first." Pink told her teammate her voice icey and calm.
"I don't need a check up,"
"Will you guys shut up! Arguing is not going to help with anything." Blue cut in her voice holding the same squeaky tones as it did when they were kids.
"Right, you're right Blue there is no point in arguing." Pink sighed crossing her arms she shut her eyes tightly thinking.
She hadn't expected this not only was Blue wounded but Green had been in the process of turning. Looking at the green girl she was still on the ground, her chest heaving and as much as Pink didn't want to admit she was scared. Scared of what her green teammate could have become. The cuffs that trapped her wrist and ankles were going to be enough to get her home but after Grey got out of range they would break off.
Biting her lip she thought for a moment both Blue and Green needed White either way. She had to go report to Black and Beldum after this and the creature had to be transported back to the island.
"Pink." The calm voice of Buldum came through her Com. "Have you defeated the monster, people are starting to ask questions. The lock downs don't usually go on for more than 30 minutes. We don't need to make the town antsy. Not only that but we're getting calls from F block scouts there saying that the sounds coming from the shore do not sound like an earthquake." Her blood not having any kind of blocker started to freeze in her veins her heart picked up more unnaturally than usual.
The F block scouts were supposed to be evacuated after 10 minutes of the warning; they were only there to look for anyone left behind. Her eyes moved up to the skyscraper that was singed by the laser but she didn't have time to think about that. Instead she could only think about what was in front of her. Her teammates and a giant cyclops.
"We need to clear out so here what's going to happen Grey I'll take the Cyclops to the isle and do the proper procedure you will take the girls back to White cover for them with their friends. I'll take care of everything else after that and meet you back in the lab." Grey nodded but her eyes weren't looking at her eyes instead she was looking at her nose.
Her thumb came up to her face, swiping under her own nose subtly telling her leader to do the same. Pink mimicked the action understanding the moment she touched her upper lip stopping the flow of blood. She was having a nose bleed? Now? Why? How?
"Hey leader girl, are you not even going to listen to your teammates instead of just shouting orders?" Green shouted though finally being able to sit up. "I beat that thing, I should be the one to take him back!" Irritation flooded her, swiping the blood she breathed a gust of wind uncomfortably up into her nose coating it was a thin coat of ice to stop whatever was bleeding.
"You can hardly get up, much less take this giant. I'm taking him, you're going to the base, that's the end of it, Green!"
"Why does your word have to be the end of it? Just because you were born first does not give you jurisdiction over the rest of us!" She was seriously picking a fight while struggling to get up?
Of course she was. She felt defeated even if she won the battle she let that side take over even if it was for a moment. It's just like her to take that out in a fight. She was just as frustrated as her leader.
"Pink gave us our orders we need to go before this place is filled. The towns not stupid enough to ignore a huge creature on its back we'll be flooded by the media in less then two minutes." Grey sighed but it was Blue who got the girl to shut up. "Green I really think White should look us over or at least me." The girl coughed, her voice was choppy and she made it seem like talking was painful.
Green didn't argue after that, taking off with Grey and Blue. Leaving the Pink girl at the shore of the beach with the monster taking a deep breath she let the ice in her nose melt. Picking up the creature she tried to keep from doing more damage taking it to the isle.
