While waiting for the results of the scan, I was browsing through the System Records of the Server, especially about magic. I have to be prepared on how to fight in this world.

My abilities as a Coder weren't really meant for combat. It was only useful for fighting Bugs and Dump Files. I wouldn't have time to write out commands when fighting sentient creatures like mages and soldiers. Also, I had to be wary about showing off my abilities as a Coder.

According to the System Records, there was no such thing as "Reality Magic." If Pekora would ask someone who was good at magic, she would find out that I was sort of lying. Magic in this world could be simplified into one thing: "Doing magic costs mana. The greater the effect, the more mana you need."

For example a spell that affects one person would take lesser mana than a spell that affects a group. Also, the more complicated the effect, the more mana was used. A spell that would push an object required lesser mana than a spell that would translate languages.

I tried looking up some magic from the System Records and started coding them. To prepare for any enemies, I had to make a Patch for myself. Preferably, an offensive one.

What was a Patch? I said that everything could be a code, right? What if I told you that even actions could be a code? Learning how to cook a meal could be broken down into codes. Those codes are read by the brain and would bring out a proper response. Even knowledge could be a code. Memorizing the multiplication table could be turned into a code.

A Patch is a collection of codes about knowledge. For example, I could make a Patch about martial arts. If I install that Patch to myself, I would be an expert martial artist despite having no training. The only hard part was converting it to a code.

Luckily, the System Records contain everything there was to know. All the needed information was in there so I could analyze and convert it to a code. That's right. I was learning magic. All I had to do was properly code it and I could cast a Fireball or something.

However, there was a limit on Patches. Every person had a different "Memory." Whenever a Coder would install a Patch, it would cost Memory. Kind of like installing software on a computer. A Patch about complicated spells would have larger Memory than a Patch about cooking.

Here was the twist: as a Coder, I have infinite Memory. If I wanted to, I could learn every single magic and skill at once. But where was the fun in that? What was the point of becoming skillful on everything? The point of living was acquiring experiences and skills. If you learn a skill instantly, you are taking away the spice of life.

And besides, "using" was different from "mastering." Learning how to use Fireball was easy but mastering it was hard. For example, even if I learned how to use Fireball, it would be useless if I don't know when to use it. You need real experience to effectively use a skill.

This time, however, was an exception. I was in a world where killing was common and monsters existed. They were different from Bugs and Dump Files so I had to fight them using their own rules.

A violet screen appeared with a message from the Administrator.

[Suisei Hoshimachi ID found. Location: Fallster Forest]

I looked up information about Fallster Forest and a chill ran down my spine. It was a forest that was filled with dangerous monsters and was around 300 km west from here.

This was bad... I had to go to her immediately or else, she wouldn't survive!

A violet screen appeared in front of me and I placed the commands [move_self X:637.94827309513 Y: 427.19036482749 Z: 12.74927883721]

However, I was met with an [Error: command 'move_self' undefined].

Oh come on! There were no move commands on this server? What should I do? I was in this Server for more than 15 hours already! Suisei must be barely surviving right now!

I could modify my codes and run at full speed over there but that would lead to tons of Dump Files. There must be a way to edit something with the least amount of conflicts.

Opening the System Records, I found out about Flying Magic. Flying Magic allowed the user to fly at a certain speed. The faster and higher a mage would fly, the more mana the spell needed.

Wait a minute... Mana and flying huh?

I opened the codes of my body and found the codes concerning my mana production and capacity... This was going to lead to some Dump Files but it would be considerably less than editing tons of things inside me and letting me run fast. If I play my cards right, I could even go there at a fast speed.

Suisei Hoshimachi never felt true fear until now. One moment, she was in her room sleeping and in the next, she found herself in a forest. The scary part was that there were monsters of different kinds in that place.

She was hiding beneath some bushes as wolf-like creatures howled in the distance. Suisei saw how those wolves ate a tiger-like creature several sizes bigger than them. And now, she was their next target.

A large black wolf appeared in the distance and she could've sworn it made eye contact with her. The wolf then charged at her spot and she stood up and ran.

It was difficult to run in the forest especially without shoes but she didn't care. Her heart was beating faster than a galloping horse as she tried to shake off her pursuers. The bad part was that it was almost night so she couldn't see things clearly.

The game of tag continued on for a few more minutes until she reached a cliff. Below the cliff was a group of large rocks and when she tried to return from where she came from, a group of black wolves greeted her.

"Am I going to die here?" she asked in fear.

She wished that everything was a huge dream but the pain on her feet told her otherwise. Suisei could feel her sweat and beating heart so she knew that this wasn't a dream. For some reason, she found herself in a dangerous forest.

"Please... Is this a joke? It's not funny", Suisei tried to look around for any hidden cameras. She was an idol so she thought that this was some sort of an elaborate prank by someone.

However, there wasn't anyone who appeared and told her it was one huge joke. Tears fell down her face as she prayed to whatever gods out there.

I didn't even have a boyfriend and I haven't apologized to my older sister... I can't die here, she thought.

A black wolf walked towards her. Its sharp teeth were showing and she gulped down. She always thought that she would die being surrounded by her loved ones instead of becoming a meal for a wild beast.

The wolf howled and it charged towards her.

"Somebody save me!" she screamed in vain as she prepared for any pain that would come.

And that was when he appeared.

A black-haired boy descended from the sky and landed a kick on the wolf. Suisei looked at his face and noticed that it was filled with rage. It was as if staring at a dog growling at a burglar.

"It's all fine. Why? I am here!" he told her and gave her a reassuring smile.

Have you ever arrived just in time for something? Like submitting an assignment one minute before the deadline or getting the last copy of a popular game? That was what I felt when I saw Suisei almost getting attacked by the wolves.

Seeing her in person was great. I watched her concerts and she was on a stage instead of being nearby. Also, she looked really cute in her pajamas.

The wolves growled and I glared at them. I forgot that they were there. For the crime of threatening Suisei, I will delete all of you!

A magic circle appeared on my hand as a ball of fire shot from it. It hit a wolf and turned it into ashes. That was great. It seemed that the Patch was installed without any problems.

Lightning shot from my palm and hit another wolf. The remaining 4 wolves charged at me at the same time.

"Thorn Bind Hostage!", I shouted as ropes emerged from the ground and wrapped around two wolves.

The other two wolves were hit by an ice spike from me and they died. After killing them, I shot two more Fireballs and the other two wolves were slain. There were probably no other monsters nearby so I relaxed.

"Ummm... Who are you?" Suisei asked.

"H-Hillo! Ermm. S-Sorry about that. I was about to say "Hi" but switched it to a "Hello." Are you hurt?" I asked.

"No. You arrived just in time to help me. What's your name?"

"M-My name is Inazuma Jun. Just a regular Hoshiyomi."

"Hoshiyomi? You're a fan of mine?"

"Y-Yes. I'm a huge fan of yours, Hoshimachi-san. I would like to talk more but we need to get out of this forest. This is a dangerous place."

"How did you get here? Did you just fly?"

"Y-Yeah. I flew for around 300 km and found you in this place. Although I don't know how I could get you out."

"Can't you just carry me while flying?"

"C-C-Carry you?! A-Are you okay with that? I mean, I know you're not heavy or anything but having a stranger carry you is bad, you know?"

"You just saved my life so I know I can trust you... And I don't think I want to walk because my feet are sore."

I walked towards her and applied healing magic on her feet. But she was right. She had no choice but to be carried by me.

"I suppose I can carry you... If you want to", I faced my back towards her and motioned her to ride on it.

She grabbed onto my back and I lifted her up. We then began to fly.

"Where are we going?" Suisei asked.

"To the town where I'm staying. I'll explain everything there", I answered.

Now then... You might be wondering how I managed to fly for over 300 kilometers in less than 15 minutes. Flying Magic was a really complicated magic. It was mostly used in letting the mages create some distance from their enemies as they shoot off ranged attacks. It wasn't meant for traveling huge distances since it would cost a lot of mana. According to the System Records, the world record for the longest distance traveled using Flying Magic was around 100 kilometers at a speed of around 30 kilometer per hour and it was done by a mage with unnaturally high mana capacity.

So how in the world did I fly 300 kilometers at around 1200 kph? Surely that would cost an astronomical amount of mana, right? The answer for that was simple: I abused my powers as a Moderator.

I opened the codes about my body and slightly edited it. By "slightly", I meant changing my mana capacity into 999999999999999 and mana production into 99999. I would've added more "9"s but it would cause a huge conflict and increase the chances of forming Dump Files and Bugs. In other words, I was "cheating."

With my impossibly large mana capacity and unbelievably fast mana production, I could fly from one continent to another. It was a total cheat! But I had to be careful. I was pretty sure my sort-of-reckless changes would lead to Dump Files. The Administrator would probably forgive me if I clean them up when they pop up. And besides, it was an emergency. If I didn't do it, Suisei would be the dinner of those wolves.

Now that I was done explaining, I had to think of something else. Currently, I was carrying my favorite idol. She was too close for comfort that I could even feel her breath on my neck. Suisei was tightly grabbing on to me to the point that I could feel some parts. This was too much for a fan like me.

I was flying at around 600 kph to avoid scaring Suisei. That meant I would be in this position for 30 minutes. What should I do? Should I think about a random thing or explain another aspect of my life as a Coder?

"Inazuma-kun?" Suisei called out.

"Y-Yeah? What is it, Hoshimachi-san?" I asked.

"What is going on? Where am I?"

I guess I could talk to her. I told her how she was sent to another world because of a mistake. When she asked what I meant about "Servers", "Admin", and how I knew about those things, I had to confess my secret life as a Coder.

The town called Stonebell was in sight and we landed in front of the inn. I walked towards the counter and rented a separate room for Suisei. After receiving the key to her room, we entered it.

"So you're a god-like being?" she asked.

"A god? That's an exaggeration", I replied.

"But that's what you are, right? You could twist the world's rules with a simple command and your goal is to create an entirely new world. It sounds like a god to me."

"You got a point. But it's not that impressive actually."

Suisei sat on her bed and sighed. Poor girl. This must be the first time she could relax in the last 18 hours.

"Are you going to send me back to my world?" she asked.

"About that... There's a slight problem", I answered.

"What's wrong?"

"Intentionally sending people who were not Coders to another Server would cause a lot of conflicts. In other words, I can't risk sending you since it would cause Bugs."

"So I'm going to be stuck here for the rest of my life?"

"No... Luckily, our Server and this Server would be connected. The moment the Administrators finish the codes for allowing safe travel between the Servers, I can send you there. Don't worry. I'll protect you until that time arrives."

"But what about my family in the other world? They would be worried sick if I disappeared for a long time."

"There's no need to worry about that. Mithra already deployed NPCs. NPCs are identical copies of people. A Suisei NPC would fill in your role in the other Server while you are still here."

"That's a relief."

She had a smile on her face. It was great that I managed to save her.

"Oh yeah... Will you give me permission to edit you?" I asked.

"Edit me? You mean you will see my codes?" she asked back.

"That's right. Your existence is an anomaly. Your body is different from this Server's residents since you are from another Server. I will edit your body to make it seem that you are a resident of this Server."

"I don't really mind but why go through all that trouble?"

"You see, since your body is not from this Server, it would have codes that would cause conflicts. And conflicts lead to Dump Files and Bugs. To fix that, I would have to edit your body to make sure it would be compatible with this Server."

A violet screen appeared in front of her.

"I promise it would be painless and I wouldn't take a look at other sensitive information", I said.

"Okay then. I trust you", she pressed the screen and a violet screen appeared in front of me containing her codes.

After editing the required parts and installing a Patch about this world's language, I exited the screen.

"Everything's okay now, Hoshimachi-san. You should go to sleep now. I know you had a rough day. If you ever need something, I'm at my room", I told her and left.

One person saved, now eight more to go.
