I was sitting on a park's bench while staring at the clouds. The bright blue sky looked peaceful which made me wish to become a cloud and just lazily float around.
My life was supposed to be a simple and regular one. I was just a regular desk agent in a family of agents. Aside from that, I was just a regular high school boy trying to live a normal life. I even had a crush that I didn't want to admit.
And yet here I was waiting for a signal to arrest a dangerous person who was involved with a rebellion. I was completely satisfied with my normal life. I didn't ask to be transported to another world and deal with a rebellion. No sir.
But did fate go along with my wishes? Nope! They decided to send me to another world in my pajamas without any warning or even any tutorials. And now I had to sneak inside a heavily-guarded building and hopefully arrest Shien Kageyama.
"Rebels of Krusmond! I've come to bring peace and order in this place! If you don't wanna die, just bow down and surrender to my might!"
A loud voice echoed from the direction of the Northern Dungeons. I guess that was the signal Jun-kun told me to wait for. The rebels' attention must be at the Northern Dungeons. They should be preparing to mobilize against Jun-kun. I should wait for a few more minutes.
I could hear loud footsteps and I saw rebels running towards the Northern Dungeons. Alright. Now that the security for the Guild Building got looser, it was time to sneak in.
The road to the Guild Building was unguarded. Jun-kun's distraction was very effective. From the information the System Records that Jun-kun gave me, there was supposed to be a secret entrance for the Guild Building somewhere near the park I was staying at.
I checked earlier and I saw that there were some guards standing near the entrance. When I returned to the spot, the guards were now gone. I still looked around to check if this wasn't a trap and after confirming that no one was indeed around, I entered the secret entrance.
The Guild Building's layout was very easy to memorize. It was completely symmetrical and the hallways had no complicated paths. That was why it was hard to infiltrate it. The guards could keep watch over a huge area and easily alert the others.
Of course, my first obstacle appeared right after I managed to enter the Guild Building. Two rebels were standing by in the middle of a hallway. The System Records showed where guards were posted and I was glad it was accurate. This would make things easier.
I rolled over a metal ball towards the guards. They looked at it and were about to pick it up when it released smoke. It contained a very powerful sleeping gas that could tranquilize even rampaging elephants. That's why it took less than a minute before they collapsed to the ground.
There was no place where I could hide them and I knew that the rebels wouldn't have patrols inside the Guild Building. They were too busy dealing with the chaos Jun-kun was making.
I cautiously moved in the hallway while trying to recall the information I memorized last night. Unfortunately, there were no shortcuts towards the top floor. It sucked that Shien Kageyama was in the most secure office of the Guild Building.
My heart was beating fast as I sharpened my senses. How could Botan handle this amount of stress when infiltrating? She even told me it was fun. How the hell was this "fun" when a single mistake would make me trapped in a building filled with enemies?
I saw another pair of guards and I rolled another sleeping bomb towards them. After the smoke cleared, I saw that they were unconscious on the floor. I continued this tactic until I reached the second topmost floor.
The second topmost floor was supposed to be just one huge room with a staircase in the middle. There was no way to infiltrate it without getting detected and according to the System Records, two skilled warriors were guarding the staircase leading to the top floor.
I placed a rectangular device on the door leading to the second topmost floor. That device was supposed to release a forward blast. I then took a metal rod and electricity danced around it. On my left hand was an energy gun that was set to a lethal level.
The rectangular device activated and blasted the door away. I barged into the room and fired my energy gun. I managed to land a headshot on a robed man and he instantly died. The second man managed to react in time and dodged my shots.
My two enemies were Kiersten the Fierce and Barret the Wise. Both of them were dangerous but I decided to kill Barret first because he was more troubling to deal with once he unleashes his magic. Kiersten was dangerous with a sword but at least I knew what to expect.
I fired my energy gun but he dodged it again. When I managed to fire a tricky shot, he would block it with his sword. According to the System Records, his sword was made from Omnium Steel, one of the toughest materials in this world.
He managed to close the distance between us and swung his sword. I managed to avoid it and I tried to strike him with my metal rod. However, he also managed to avoid my strike.
Kiersten swung his sword and I blocked it with my rod. His sword might be made from one of the toughest materials in this world but my weapon was made from another Server's technology. It wouldn't break that easily.
I fired my gun at a close range but he moved his head out of the way. We exchanged strikes with our weapons and I could feel myself getting overpowered. I decided to throw some smoke bombs to buy myself some time.
Kiersten ran away from the smoke and went to a corner of the room. There was some distance between us so I fired my gun again. Unfortunately, he was skilled enough to dodge and block all of them.
He charged towards me and I did the same. His eyes would be focused on my gun since it was a threat in long-ranged combat. That was why he shouldn't expect this.
The tip of my rod shot towards him. Electricity traveled through the wire that connected the tip with the rest of the rod and shocked Kiersten. With that much current flowing through his brain, he passed out.
I fired my gun to his unconscious body to kill him for real. As much as I hated killing, I had no other choice. If he would regain consciousness while I was hauling Shien Kageyama, it would be troublesome.
After confirming them to be dead, I walked up the staircase. I was in front of the door leading to the top floor and I gulped down. The person I was going to arrest was a dangerous man. However, this wasn't the time for hesitation. Jun-kun was doing his best distracting the rebels. I have to pull my own weight and accomplish my part.
I opened the door and saw a black-haired beastman staring out the window. He was wearing a black coat and a pair of jackal ears were on his head.
"So? You've come to take me down, Eru Reika", he said without looking behind.
"You were expecting me?" I asked.
"Of course. I know each and everything that's going on in this place. I even know you arrived in Krusmond last night."
"Oh yeah? Then why didn't you just capture us and prevent us from causing chaos?"
"Because I want you to create chaos."
What he said caught me off-guard.
"Do you know that the world is very boring? We are expected to live by following the rules and making sure that "order" is observed."
"And so you're creating chaos? Just because it's fun?"
"Yes. Order may be safe but it's horribly boring. What's the point of a long but boring life? I'd rather have a short and exciting one."
"Depends. Your "entertainment" involves the suffering of other people. From funding dangerous criminal organizations to even taking over a city by helping rebels, your "entertainment" is not good."
"We're talking about "good" and "evil" now, huh? Do you know why the people willingly agreed to help the rebels? It's because the lord of this city wasn't well-liked. And with the king of this country not doing well in ruling, the people aren't satisfied. Even if you take down this rebellion, a new one will pop up again and again as long as the people's dissatisfaction isn't solved."
"But rebellion isn't the answer. And from what you told me, you didn't help the rebels because you believe in their motivations. You're just a criminal who enjoys chaos."
"And what will you do about it? You can't catch me. I have the support of powerful beings which caused GUILD to be unable to even lay their hands on me. What can a mere desk agent like you do?"
"What can I do? Arrest you!" I threw a disc and it attached to Shien Kageyama's back.
The disc discharged a huge amount of electricity and Shien Kageyama collapsed to the ground. I took out a special device and when I placed it on his body, it expanded and turned into metal ropes that wrapped themselves around him.
My mission was complete and all I had to do was meet up with Jun-kun. Things should be well.
Or at least, that's what I thought.
In the direction of the Northern Dungeons, I saw five large creatures materialize. Hold on!
Why are Dump Files here?!
