Chapter four:

Kaoru soon finds himself sitting in class again. He stares with a bored look to the front as the teacher reads a chapter of a book he already had read a year ago.

Hikaru had thought that the book looked interesting so they had read it together and indeed it was a bit interesting. He loved how the two that fell into a world they know nothing about had them saving it from disappearing into fog, a fog that was swallowing up everything that it touched like some kind of black hole.

Kaoru feels a gaze on him and hardly pays it any mind. He figures that it must be someone who doesn't like him. He slightly glances to Haruhi only to notice that it is the other that is looking at him.

Haruhi seems to be trying to study him as if trying to learn more about him by looking him over.

Kaoru quietly huffs and turns away figuring that the newest member of the club is trying to just figure what is wrong with him. He bets that Haruhi is trying to see if he can be fixed despite that there is nothing about him to be fixed. He is perfectly fine in a world that simply refuses to understand him. He glances to Hikaru noticing him eyeing Haruhi. He swears that his other part that completes him is wondering if he can figure out the one who is currently trying to study him. He turns back to the teacher still bored but also finding a little annoyance has snuck into his emotions.

After school…

Kaoru starts to head to get to the club room when he hears footsteps behind him as if trying to hurry to get somewhere. He glances back noticing that it is Haruhi. He figures that the other must have forgotten for a moment about the club. He hopes that it means that Haruhi will indeed soon quit the club. He turns away from said other only for the other to run into his back. He pauses swearing that he feels something on his back when the other runs into him.

"Oh. I'm sorry." Haruhi moves back then Kaoru glances back to her. She moves around him. "Um. I guess I'll meet you at the club room. Since I don't think you really want to walk with me." She then heads off with that going on ahead as Kaoru stands there in the hallway.

"Kaoru? Are you okay?" Hikaru moves to float in front of the only one that can see him.

Seeing Hikaru causes Kaoru to blink out of his surprised trance. "Haruhi is a girl." He tells the other who for a moment blinks at this then realizes how Kaoru figured it out. "Well I guess we know what gender to call her now."

"Yeah." Kaoru nods softly then as Hikaru moves out of the way he continues to head to the club room. He isn't really sure what to think of this new development though he tries to push it away.

Surely it isn't all that important especially if Haruhi does plan to leave the club.

Kaoru makes it the club room and he heads inside seeing that the others are getting their spots ready for the coming guests. He does notice that Kyouya has pulled Haruhi aside to talk to her about things. He guesses to help her get acquainted with how things are going to work. He also notices that the others had set up a spot for Haruhi to use for her own guests. He turns away and walks past them to get to his spot to get things ready. He briefly listens to what it is that Kyouya is telling Haruhi.

"So. You will have a schedule. You take in those that arrive first then they have a specific time with you. As shown on here." Kyouya hands her the paper she can write down who gets what time with her. "When the time is up you switch guests to let those that are next have some time with you. You cannot talk about any future events that we have discussed in our meetings. Our meetings are only for us to know what was discussed."

Kaoru tunes out their discussion as he focuses on getting his area ready instead. He pauses and turns hearing someone approaching him after he is almost prepared. He turns to notice that it is Hunny. "All done?" He questions the other offering a soft smile to his good friend.

Hunny nods his head and holds Usa-chan close to himself. "Kao-chan. Can I tell you something?" He keeps his voice down truly showing that it is only meant for the two of them.

"Of course. You know you can always tell me anything. You know that." Kaoru confirms wondering what is going on in the head of his friend's head. He can tell that whatever it is that is on the others mind it really is bothering him.

"Kao-chan. I am a little worried that Haruhi might try to take Hika-chan away." Hunny admits causing Kaoru to blink at this.

"What makes you say that?" Kaoru doesn't really understand where this line of thinking had even come from.

"Well… I went to go find Haru-chan at lunch to see if we could hang out to get to know each other more." Hunny shifts his feet as he begins to explain. "And I found Haru-chan looking up a bunch of psychological things. Like how to get someone to move on from an imaginary friend." He glances down seemingly feeling guilty about having snooped into something he probably shouldn't have. "What if Haru-chan does find a way to get rid of Hika-chan? I know how much he means to you. I don't want her to force him to go away."

Kaoru is silent for a few moments as he lets the news of this sink in. He feels anger boil up inside of himself before he calms himself down reminding himself of something he learned when growing up. He offers a small smile to Hunny and places a hand on the other's shoulder in an attempt to assure him. "Oh come now. Haruhi could never take Hikaru away." He tells the other male who turns to meet his eyes. "Remember that I told you? Not even any of the doctors that my parents took me to couldn't make Hikaru go away. Hikaru completes me. He is a permanent part of me. And I plan to keep it that way."

Hunny perks up a little at the reminder of this then he nods feeling better. He hurries away to get back to his spot as soon the doors to the club will be open.

Kaoru watches his friend go then he turns to glance to Haruhi who seems to have just finished getting prepared herself. He silently promises that he won't let Haruhi tear him and Hikaru apart. He feels hate and anger for her growing inside of himself knowing that Hunny would never lie to him, especially about what he had told him about. He turns away and finds Hikaru looking to him. "I'll be happy when the day comes that she leaves the club. Then I can go back to just ignoring her." He hisses to the other before finishing his preparations and gets into position.
