Chapter 13:
"Whew. That could have gone better." Artio wiped the sweat off her face as she walked into her side of the arena tunnel. Lugh and her old man were waiting for her there.
"Lugh! Dad!" She ran at them and quickly hugged her foster father. The old man patted her head, clearly proud of his daughter. Lugh gave her a thumbs up and he was here to confirm something.
"That person you fought, he made you stronger through fighting, didn't he? How powerful are you now?" Lugh asked his student.
"Stronger than you, teacher." Artio proudly answered while crossing her arms. Lugh smiled while summoning his weapon.
"Alright then, why don't we put that to the test? Sparring time!" Lugh and Artio happily ran away to their training room while the old man shook his head and sighed amusingly, walking after them.
An angel sat in his room. He wore an expensive black and white Armani suit and black loafers. He drank some brandy while quietly enjoying the fights. Gabriel would tell him who the gods would send next, and then he sends the information to The Void. Zeus came into his room and the angel sighed, knowing what was coming next.
"Satan." Zeus said. The angel didn't bother responding. That was the name given to him after he was banished to Earth. Zeus sighed and tried again. "Lucifer, I want you to fight in match five."
Lucifer stood up and set down his glass of brandy. His wings of pure white spread out once again. He reached into his coat pocket and picked out his dagger. Zeus backed away instinctively, remembering how the dagger caused him unimaginable pain just from a light cut. Lucifer spoke in a British accent. "Funny how people think I use a pitchfork."
"Well, I'll be going then." Once Lucifer got out of the room, he quickly texted The Void which side he will fight for. Zadkiel, one of his sisters, appeared by his side. She held his arm, stopping him for a quick conversation.
"I know what you're about to do, brother." Zadkiel revealed that she knew. She hoped this would discourage her brother from doing something reckless again.
"That's good for you." Lucifer chuckled before continuing his way. Zadkiel blocked him again. Lucifer sighed, annoyed at his sister's antics. "Sister, no matter what you say, I will not fight for the gods."
"Please, brother. You must reconsider. Michael will-" Zadkiel was cut off by Lucifer's finger shushing her mouth.
"Then let him. He was always the self-righteous prick." Lucifer gently pushed his sister aside and continued on his way. He made sure to emphasize all of his words to get Zadkiel off his back.
Human Fighters Hallway...
"Have you found Kurogiri yet?" The Void's avatar asked their fighters. Everybody shook their heads, failing to find the black mist villain.
"This is odd. Kurogiri wouldn't be doing much with no one telling him what to do." Tomura Shigaraki, from the Original Universe, shook his head, confused by the League Member's actions. "In fact, he only takes orders from me and-"
Tomura's eyes widened in realization. He stomped his foot on the ground and realized what was happening. The Void's avatar took the hint and disappeared.
*bzztt… He's taking… bzztt… orders from… bzztt… him again… bzztt* Civil War Izuku was the second to realize what was happening. Everybody soon followed. If there was one constant in the Alternate Universes, it will be that that person will always be evil.
"The question is, where could All For One be?" Endeavour asked himself, trying to figure out the evil mastermind's next step.
"That was one hell of a 4th match, wasn't it? Get ready folks, I bet the 5th match would be even crazier!" Hermes said through his microphone. The god's side of the door opened, revealing another bright light. The crowd wondered if the gods were sending another god of light. They didn't expect someone else. An angel with beautiful white wings walked out of the arena. "Don't be fooled folks! That's no angel! He was one, but now he is the first fallen angel!"
The priests from the human side realized whom Hermes was describing. They immediately chanted prayers of exorcism out of fear from the fallen angel. Lucifer noticed this and let out an amused chuckle. He teleported to Hermes' podium and took the god's microphone for himself before teleporting back to the arena.
"Yes, yes, the scary devil is here to fight. An annoying misconception created by a brother of mine to prank humanity is that I am a liar." Lucifer said while continuing to walk to the human side. The gods were confused by the fallen angel's actions. "I already vowed to always tell the truth. Here's a truth for both humanity and gods watching us today: I, Lucifer, the Exiled Angel, shall be fighting for humanity."
There was silence, and then finally, an uproar from both the gods and humans in the audience. The humans could not comprehend why the source of all evil would fight for them. The gods were angry that a deity would fight for humanity. "I mean, Zeus kinda cast me down from the heavens. I'll be damned to fight for him and I also like humanity more than the gods, anyway."
Lucifer teleported back to the shocked Hermes's podium and returned the microphone. "Thanks for the item, friend."
The gods booed him, but he paid them no mind. He already waited for this chance for so long. Zeus was annoyed at not being specific about his request to the fallen angel. "For the love of- who are we supposed to send to fight him?!"
Zeus's question was immediately answered by a black mist surrounding the arena. The crowd was confused again about who it was. Odin looked back at the corner to see the cloaked figure still there. The King of the Norse god looked back at the arena in confusion. After a few seconds, the black mist compressed itself into a singular body. The figure wore a suit fitting for a bartender. His neck was a metal bracer used to protect his weak spot. It was Kurogiri. Even Lucifer was confused about the turn of events.
"Didn't The Void get my message? Why are you here?" Lucifer asked the quiet villain. Suddenly, Kurogiri started having a seizure, catching everyone off guard. The villain clutched his head and let out a pained roar before stopping. The mist covering his head disappeared while the metal bracer broke apart.
"That's not Oboro." Aizawa from the audience said in confusion. Even the hero was questioning who it was. The figure that took over Kurogiri's body had short, shaggy hair. His smile was more sinister than any other. He began clapping slowly at Lucifer.
"It's just as your brother predicted!" The person who was formerly Kurogiri bowed to the angel in faux respect. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am All For One. I've already implanted my mind into Kurogiri's head long before his death. Much like your amusing betrayal of the gods to humanity, I shall fight for the gods."
The avatar of The Void suddenly appeared in the middle of the arena, causing fear and panic to spread among the gods, much to the human audience's confusion. "You little shit. I'm taking away my blessing from you."
"Go ahead, take it away. I'll gain godhood instead with my partner in crime." All For One said as he felt The Void's blessing disappear from his spirit. The Void's avatar disappeared again, leaving All For One apparently helpless against Lucifer. "That's quite unfortunate. Luckily…"
All For One pointed at the sky. Lucifer and everybody else looked up. It was an archangel with six wings flying over the arena. Everyone was confused by who it was, but Lucifer scoffed when he saw the archangel.
"Michael." He spat on the ground as a sign of disrespect to his brother. The captain of the archangels didn't bother saying a word to Lucifer before turning into light and surrounding All For One's body.
Synchronize: Nephilim
Nothing changed from All For One's outward appearance. On the inside, however, all of his genes were now that of a god's, allowing his quirks to harm Lucifer. Remiel floated down, worried for her brothers. "Are you guys sure you want to fight?"
"Don't worry about me, sister. Whatever happens to Michael will be his own fault." Lucifer said coldly.
All For One simply nodded.
"All right then…" Remiel blew the horn, starting the fifth match. All For One was suddenly behind Lucifer, much to the fallen angel's surprise. He reacted quickly by ducking under All For One's hand.
"It would be simpler if you stand still and allow me to steal your power." All For One said while he tried to reach for Lucifer again. Lucifer swayed his head, barely avoiding All For One's hand and slashing it off with his dagger. The villain did not react to the pain, much to Lucifer's shock. The hand he lost simply grew back. "Ultra Regeneration quirk stocked upon each other. It's a beautiful combination, isn't it?"
Before Lucifer could say anything, All For One blasted him with an air cannon and finally touched his face. "It was amusing while it lasted. Now stand still while I take your power away."
Nothing happened.
"What?!" All For One's smile disappeared from his face. Lucifer cut off the hand once again.
"I see. So it only negates the original ability." Lucifer played with his dagger while observing All For One's hand growing back. "I have to admit, you had me worried there. Let's begin for real, shall we?"
{- To Be Continued...
"Wait a damn minute, you let him still fight?" Monoma asked The Void, dumbfounded by the situation.
"Yes. He's not really fighting for us anymore and I prefer not to unexist anyone if I don't have to." The Void's avatar explained to the fighters. "Lucifer is no slouch as he was portrayed in your religious books. He can handle himself. Hopefully."
"Hopefully?!"
"Do I need to mention again that I keep my omniscience turned off?!" The Void pinched the bridge of their nose in exasperation. Monoma finally backed down from questioning them any further while the other fighters sighed in annoyance. "Just enjoy the show. Also, Monoma, I'm sending you to find next. I did look into the future just to make sure."
"Will I win?"
"I didn't look that far ahead. That would ruin the surprise, would it not?"
"For fuck's sake."
Kurogiri was possessed by All For One all along.
