Hi, I'm new to this and I just figured out how to put in my little authors notes so please like and leave a review, also if you want to read the original then head to my account on AO3.

I opened my eyes to see golden gates and white clouds, was I in heaven? "Welcome Chaos." I looked around but I couldn't see anyone. "Who are you?!" I shouted out.

"I'm an Ophanim, I am here to guide souls like yours to heaven." The gates slowly opened but I didn't walk through, no instead I looked over the ledge. Before me was a great chasm, heat radiating from it. Something or someone was calling me it seemed, the vision from the warehouse flashed briefly in front of my eyes. "When the time comes you will know which to choose," I said to myself.

"Please make your way through the gates." I looked behind me at the gates and smiled.

"Sorry, but I have somewhere else to be. Tell Michael thanks for the scar over my left silver eye," I said as I jumped off the ledge and fell, getting faster and faster until everything felt like it was burning, Until I was burning, noticing my wardrobe was changing. From that blinding white suit sprang forth fingerless leather gloves, a black military jacket with crimson lining, black steel-toed boots, black pants and a deep red t-shirt.

I looked at my back, and there were two-midnight black feathered wings, noticing the incoming ground I tried to slow my descent with them, but I only slowed down enough to lightly crash into a dumpster in an extremely dirty alley. For some reason, I had this weird feeling of being watched as I managed to climb out of said dumpster. "It might be wise to hide those wings of yours," Said a voice behind me. "Most sinners would jump at the chance to have a Fallen under their control."

Turning around I notice a familiar face, grinning smugly. "Martin, it's good to see your smug cat-ass. Also, what do you mean by Fallen?" I asked standing a bit straighter.
"Ya know like Lucifer the King of Hell. He was an Archangel who 'fell' from Heaven thus the term." he replied looking at me struggling to 'put away' my wings. "Try willing em' away, it that doesn't work fold em' up and throw on this. It'll help with hiding them." He then tossed me a big black cloak.

In all honesty willing my wings away was harder than it sounded. After a few attempts I was getting annoyed and just really wished that they would disappear, and low and behold they vanished. Putting on the cloak, I followed him out of the alley into the street where everybody was all kinds of weird, but otherwise, it looked like a shittier and more deadly version of Chicago. Woo, I kinda felt more at home. After a few blocks, we arrived at what I believed to be, from the sign at the front of the building, an apartment complex.

"Hey Martin, who's the new guy?" The guy at the front desk asked. His nametag read Jay, I think, it was written terribly. He was also extremely short with red skin and horns with a pointed tail, I think he was an imp. I'd ask Martin later.

"Jay this is Chaos, my protegé." WHAT? "I want you to give him room 406."
"The Pent!?"
"Yes, is that a problem?" Martin questioned.

"Yes and no," the imp said hesitantly. "The lights haven't been fully installed, the sockets are good but no bulbs. Both bathroom's sink and showers plumbing need work, and it hasn't been fully furnished." He finished looking at Martin.

"What hasn't been furnished?" I asked.
"The kitchen needs to be painted, the main bedroom needs shutters, Oh! and the whole place needs furniture. Can't have a penthouse without proper decor am I right?" Jay said with some humor, hesitantly glancing at Martin.

"I can finish doing the work," I said. "I can get everything myself, paint the kitchen, put in the shutters, finish the bathrooms, and put in the lights. The furniture will be mine anyways, plus you don't have to pay me."
"You can give him the room as payment. No rent needed." Martin supplied. Jay seemed to be thinking it over before coming to a decision.

"Fine, but no bodies," Jay said. "The cleaning guys nearly shot me last week because one of the tenants room was covered in soot and ash. Literally." Well things could be worse. After the confrontation with Jay, Martin led me to an elevator which definitely needed cleaned. Once the doors closed Martin hit the button with the four on it.

"Sooo, what's Jay supposed to be?" I asked.

"He's an imp,"was his blaise reply."I'll explain later. For now let's getcha settled." Then the doors opened and he walked out with me following close behind. Walking down the hallway I noticed it was farely well maintained for someplace in Hell, I think. Reaching the end of the hallway, he handed me a key.

"This is your room key. Don't lose it." my companion said sternly. Putting it in the door in front of me, I opened the door to a nice room.
