"Oh yeah Midoriya you were trying to enter U.A. as well,"

Izuku blinked a couple times as he processed the words of his homeroom teacher.

Oh boy.

As he expected the class erupted into laughter almost instantly. As he expected they began the throw in insults and jeers at him. Bakugo blew up on him quiet literally as he let loose an explosion on his desk.

As he expected the teacher did nothing to stop any of this immediately. He eventually did but that might have been more to the fact that they had guest visitors today. Couldn't let outsiders know about the favoritism and abuse going on behind closed doors.

(End of school)

Bakugo growled as he rounded on Deku's seat only to pause.

The quirkless teen was gone.

Bakugo blinked as he processed this information before letting out an enraged snarl.

BROOK

Izuku let out a sigh as he walked through the city.

Of course the teacher felt the need to single Midoriya out despite the fact Midoriya had asked him not to mention that he had applied. Thankfully he hadn't mentioned Izuku's perfect score on the mock exams. He didn't think he would have been able to escape if he had. It was a good thing he got out before Bakugo not that it would help much if he didn't hurry. Kaachan knew his route home.

But he wasn't going home yet. The young teen had another destination in mind.

He had barely stopped his mom from calling the police after Brooks…question. It had taken some time for her to warm up to Brook after that but it was clear that he was well intentioned. It helped that she seemed to be a fan of his skeleton jokes.

Speaking of the skeleton Izuku had arrive at his destination. It was a small unassuming building that most people passed over without realizing it was even there. In front of the building was a set of stairs that lead to the only door on the building. Izuku made his way down them, coming to look at a large door with the name of the place displayed in shabby but colorful letters.

Binks Sake.

A strange name but it went with the song that Brooks had made for it. Then again it was strange in itself that a diner/bar (Brook had never made a decision on what kind of place it was) had its own theme song but Izuku didn't question it. The song was catchy. He opened the door hearing the familiar ding alerting of a new customer.

To his left was the bar where a few customers sat waiting for their drink. The right consisted of about seven tables of which three were occupied. And even though he couldn't see it there was a stage to the back wall.

"Oh great your back," A masculine voice drawled. Izuku turned to see a man with spikey black hair looking at him as he entered the establishment. There were burn scars under his eyes as well on part of his right hand. Izuku knew there were more but they were covered by the clothing he was wearing.

"Hey Touya-san," Izuku greeted. The older male grunted in acknowledgment before walking away only for Izuku to follow him further inside.

Touya had been the first person Izuku had met at the establishment. He was also Brooks longest employee. Apparently Brook had picked him up off the streets back when he was thirteen. Much like he did for Izuku he saved Touya too. As to the exact events they were a mystery which was Touya's whole thing anyway. As it was Touya didn't share his last name. Izuku had asked once and Touya had nonchalantly blew it off but Izuku has seen the glint in his eyes. The greenette made it a point to never ask again.

"Where's Brook?" Izuku questioned.

"He's on the piano," Izuku nodded to the words before zoning in on the stage. Sure enough Brook was on the piano playing an upbeat tune that the occupants seemed to be cheering too as they ate.

"And he's killing it as usual," Someone giggled. Izuku and Touya looked to the right to see a muscular ma-woman looking towards the stage with googly eyes from behind the bar.

"Hello Kenji-san," Izuku greeted.

"I told you to call me Kenji-chan, sweetie" Kenji gushed.

Kenji Hikiishi was a, transgender women that served as Brooks main bartender. She had gone through the change recently and not many people were accepting of it. That lead to some less than stellar confrontations as well as a record for the woman. Brook had been the first one to see her as a woman when they had first met. Apparently the skeleton had asked to see her underwear. Much like he did Izuku's mom.

He was starting to see a pattern here.

"Your, supposed to be working," Touya pointed out.

"Just waiting for him to ask to see my panties," The female giggled causing Izuku to sweatdrop and Touya to groan.

"I do not need to think about what you wear under your pants Kenji," the scarred man muttered walking back into the kitchen.

"Damnit Jin!" Only to walk out a second later pulling someone out by the back of their shirt as smoke bellowed from inside.

"Sorry Touya," A blond man grunted trying to get out of the mans grasp. "I didn't mean too/And I'd do it again!"

"Hey be nice to him/Break him in half!" An identical blond called coming over.

"Let's talking more working/Break time!" Another blond stated. Izuku let out a small huff as he watched all the identical servers chime in.

Jin Bubaigawara was the last member to make up this Brooks crew of workers. Of everyones quirks his had interested Izuku the most. He could create a seemingly limitless amount of clones of himself and other people provided he had their measurements. On top of that the clones could actually use the originals quirks! How awesome was that!

Unfortunately, the man had experienced a form of trauma when a clone had bashed his head in. This confrontation had lead him to becoming unsure if he was the original Jin leading to the destruction of his sense of self. The poor man had no idea if he was the real one or not.

That is until Izuku had rescued him from his ongoing trauma.

(Flashback)

"So you don't know if your actually the original Jin," Izuku asked as he sat next to Jin.

"Yeah so I do my best to avoid violence because if I melt then that means the end of me,"

"B-But that's w-wrong," Izuku said. "Quirks aren't fully sentient to survive on their own, not even the ones that show personalities like your clones," Izuku pulled out his notebook and began writing. "If you were to factor in the fact that each clone act as an exact copy of the original then a mix up is possible but that doesn't meanyournottheoriginal-mutter mutter mutter," Everyone watched in awe as the youngest member of their group went off in a tangent.

"I may have a way to confirm whether or not you're a clone,"

"S-Sorry if this hurts," Izuku stuttered as he stuck the needle into the clone Jin's arm.

"I can take it!/Oh god the pain!" Once deep enough Izuku took the needle out to see a mud like goop covering part of it.

After about two hours Izuku determined that the clone was completely fine as it was still moving around and acting normally.

"Ok Jin," Izuku said slowly, showing the needle. "Your turn," Jin gulped but shakily held his arm out to the boy

When he removed the needle he couldn't help but smile.

"Congratulations Jin!" Izuku cheered holding the needle up for everyone to see. The red liquid indicating the question that escaped the man for so many years. "You're the real-!"

That was how Izuku found himself under a pile of Jins all thanking him with tears of joy.

(Flashback end)

Since then Jin had remained closest to Izuku out of all Brooks employees.

Suddenly the door slammed open and Izuku felt his hairs rise up. Before he could react he felt a pair of slender arms wrap around his torso and something fuzzy tickling the back of his neck.

Well there was one more member of their group

"Found you," A feminine voice whispered into his ear. "I~zu~ku,"

"H-Hi Toga-chan," Izuku greeted shyly causing the girl to giggle.

Himiko Toga was a blond teen that was a year older then Izuku and the last member of their little motley crew (as Kenji liked to call them). Izuku had actually been the one to bring her into their group after their first meeting which had been…interesting. The greenette still didn't understand why she clung to him like she did but he thought better than to ask.

Translation he was too nervous too.

"Oh so she gets a 'chan'" Kenji raised an eyebrow sending the already flustered teen into a nervous ramble. All around them the customers laughed at their antics while the rest enjoyed the music coming from the stage.

Honestly none of them had a lot in common. Most of what they did have in common involved basically being considered outcasts. Izuku didn't think too much on it though

It had been a long time since he had been able to call someone a friend.

"In other news a new hero calling herself Mt. Lady made herself known earlier this morning when she apprehended a villain rampaging thorough Mustafu,"

Izuku looked up at the television behind the bar to see it was on the news channel and blinked as he came to realize they were reporting what had happened earlier today. The teen wasn't surprised when they used the 'money shot' Mt. Lady had blatantly posed for. He had had a front row seat to the whole thing after all.

Speaking of there was one other thing that everyone had in common.

"Give me a break,"

"Well my days ruined,"

"BOOOOO/AWESOME!"

"Can we change the channel please,"

Their disdain for heroes.

With the exception of Brook and Izuku the other didn't like heroes and they made the blatantly clear whenever they got the chance. The only one who didn't really share their reason was Touya but from the looks he got when the subject was brought up he hated them the most.

It wasn't just them, a lot of the people that came to eat at the restaurant had a dislike for heroes as well. Not that Izuku could blame them. Destroyed housing, calls for help that went unanswered, injuries to loved ones from unnecessary collateral damage. Izuku had heard multiple stories over the past three months since he had begun to frequent this place. His view on heroes had already been ruptured after…the roof… but this only seemed to accelerate the process.

That wasn't to say they hated all heroes. Hell some were even regular customers at this place. But that percentage of those liked were overshadowed by those tolerated and dwarfed by those hated.

Brook seemed indifferent to heroes. In fact, he was indifferent on everything or the very least acted like he was. He never really shared his opinion on the matter. Although Izuku did notice that some heroes would get a hum of approval from the man.

As for Izuku well his views on heroes had definitely changed but he couldn't bring himself to dislike them. After all he was still aiming for UA next year. He still wrote about them in his notebooks although he did start a villain analysis set as well. Studying Pro-Heroes was good and all but since he would be fighting villains he might as well start preparing for them. Being quirkless he was going to be starting farther back then everyone else.

"Hello Izuku," the teen turned to see Brook behind him giving him a wave of greeting.

"Good evening Brook-San,"

"What brings my favorite student hear today,"

"I'm standing right here you know," Touya drawled.

"I just came to let you know that I won't be able to attend my lesson this Friday," Izuku answered. "My mom needs help grocery shopping,"

"I can't stay long," Izuku answered.

"The kid couldn't have called to tell him," A customer who overheard the conversation muttered.

"Lay off," His friend chastised. Neither of them realized that Izuku could hear them but that was fine. It was a valid thought and he would have originally had done that if not for a certain incident. Toga had caught him trying to straighten his tattered uniform and clean the blood off his face a month ago.

She had dragged him into Brooks restaurant and forced him into the back where her and Touya had cleaned him up. Touya had demanded to know what happened but Iuzku had remained tight lipped. He would have been able to avoid it if Toga hadn't given him that look of genuine concern. Something he found ironic considering the knives she had been holding at the time. Angry and frustrated he could deal with. Sad and hurt and he was putty in someones hands. There was a reason he never told his mom no.

So he told them how he was born quirkless and wanted to be a hero but not many people were accepting of either of those facts. Especially when he put them together. He didn't give any names about the bullying nor did he mention what happened on the roof.

No that one would stay between him and Brook forever if he could help it.

The look of murder in Toga's eyes after his tale had been scary. It had only been because his begging that stopped her from going down to his school. He didn't want her to get hurt fighting Kaachan or any of the other students.

After that whenever he showed up for brief moments none of them had questioned it.

Who wouldn't come to the place where all their friends were after a day in a school that shunned you instead of calling.

Although Touya had demanded he text them the second he got home and to tell them if he ever got hurt. He told them they had nothing to worry about although Izuku knew that they would follow him home.

Jin wasn't very good at stealth.

"Where are you headed too in such a hurry?"

"Takoba," The high schooler answered,

"Still cleaning it up huh," Brook hummed. Takoba beach was the local beach of Mustafu. Unfortunately, due to the ocean washing up garbage onto its sands it had turned into a dumping ground. It didn't help that people would actively throw their own trash away as well. It hadn't exactly been a conscious one. One day he had walked by it then the next thing he knew he was dumping a broken microwave in the nearby dumpster.

It had actually been his mom that motivated him albeit unintentionally. The two had walked by it and she had commented how she used to love going to it. That had been all the motivation the teen needed to get it cleaned. Izuku hadn't even considered using it as a workout regime until Touya pointed it out.

"Izu do you really want to be a hero," Toga groaned with cheek planted on the bar.

"Yeah why not just join the world of average people," Kenji smirked.

"Here's to mediocrity!" Touya drawled lifting a cup.

"Here! Here!" Multiple customers cheered sarcastically.

"One of us! One of us! One of us!" Jin chanted with a couple of his clones. Izuku nervously chuckled at their antics but reaffirmed his conviction.

"It's all I've ever wanted to be," He smiled. "To me helping someone is the greatest thing in the world," the smile on his face was so genuine that everyone else felt smiles grace their faces as well. Those with sunglasses at least.

"He's too bright!" A customer shouted shutting his eyes.

"The kindness is blinding me!"

"My retinas!"

"Then keep at it," Brook encouraged ruffling his hair with his fingers. "The only person that can stop you is yourself," Izuku nodded at the words of encouragement just as the door opened allowing a man in a delivery outfit to enter.

"Package for Binks Sake," The man said tipping his hat with his free hand.

"I'll take that," Brook said walking over to grab the package and then sign the paper on the clipboard. "Have a nice day," the man nodded before heading back out. Placing the box on the bar Brook swiftly opened it and pulled out the contents inside.

It was a violet melon with various swirls with a curly pale green stem.

"Oh another one!" Jin chirped.

"Melon shaped this time," Toga cooed.

Now this was one thing that did interest Brook. These strange fruits. Izuku had seen the collection a handful of times in the basement of the restaurant. There were hundreds of them all sealed away. The skeleton had made it pretty clear early on that he didn't want anyone eating them. He didn't eat them either, just kept collecting. Izuku didn't exactly know what Brook wanted with them but he didn't let it bother him. He had rows of notebooks analyzing heroes and villains alike not to mention all the merchandise that decorated his room (It had originally been nothing but All Might but for obvious reasons that changed) who was he to judge on someone else's hobby.

"I wonder how they taste?" Kenji wondered.

"Terrible," Brook answered instantly as he took it into the kitchen and ultimately to the basement. Touya snorted at that as he followed Brook into the kitchen.

"See ya Brook, Touya!" Izuku called.

"you heading out?" Kenji asked.

"Yep,"

"See you soon/Never comeback!" Jin waved.

"I just hope my shirt doesn't get too sweaty again," Izuku mumbled.

"Just take it off if it does/More clothes are needed!" Jin suggested.

"I guess I'll have to," Izuku nodded at the suggestion. "It's spring so its warmer out,"

"You know I'll think I'll join you!" Toga suddenly chirped an eagerness in her voice. "Everyone could use a cheerleader,"

"Oh thanks Toga," The green head teen exclaimed. Behind him Jin and Kenji shared a look but didn't say anything.

'If you take your shirt off then thank you Izu,' The blond internally squealed following the boy out.

"Be gentle Himiko," Kenji teased and Toga turned back to look at her.

"Never," She grinned before shutting the door.

Izuku paused as he could hear the occupants laughing from inside the bar.

What was that all about?

SSSOOOOOO Apparently I had more on this story then I thought and the words just spilled out. So much so I split it into 2 chapters. So looks like I got most of the League working for Brook this time around. I thought about this long and hard and I just thought it would be fun. honestly I have a lot of issues with both Toga and Dabi but I wanted to explore the possibilities of if someone had saved them. I won't go into detail as I don't want to spoil their characters for those that don't read the manga but I will say this. for Dabi this would be if Brook was in the forest that day and if Toga met Izuku ealier-ish i say ish since I've aged the characters up and UA is a university which honestly makes more sense when you think about it. Because if they're teaching them to fight villains in highschool then doesn't that mean they're raising chilc soldiers. just a thought. Well that's all for now...in this chapter be sure to check out the next chapter.

READ...REVIEW...and above all else...ENJOY!

Side note should I change the title of this story and if so to what?
