"Whats wrong?" Touya asked looking at his companion.
"The parfait doesn't taste that good," Izuku answered.
"Yet you continue to eat it," The scarred man retorted.
"Mom says to always be thankful," Izuku muttered. "Plus despite how bad it tastes I just keep wanting to eat it," The teen couldn't really explain it any other way. Despite how terrible it tasted he felt compelled to finish it for some reason. Maybe that was how they stayed in business, something about their food was addictive.
…
Oh he hoped there weren't any drugs in this.
It was Friday and the two had just finished up some errands for Brook. Touya had originally been alone but Izuku had run into him after school ended and decided to help. On the way back they had run into a man who had been trying to set up a stand. Of course the quirkless teen offered his services which worked pretty well. The man had offered the parfait on the house. All in all the man seemed nice. Although the way he talked wa-
Izuku was cut from his thoughts as something rammed into his leg causing him to fall over. Quickly recovering he sat up to get a look at what had run into him. The what was revealed to be a who, more specifically a child. A child had managed to take him down. He really needed to work on his foundation.
The long white hair indicated that it was a girl. Here clothes if it could even be called that because it looked more like a tattered pillow case. Her arms and legs were covered in bandages that seemed to be unraveling leaving a bit of a trail behind her. She looked up at Izuku and green eyes met red. He took note of a small but noticeable horn growing on the right side of her forehead. But above all else there was one thing that made her stand out to Midoriya.
The absolute fear she had in her eyes.
"H-Help me," She whispered.
Izuku blinked as he registered the girls words. He opened his mouth to speak but someone beat him to it.
"There you are Eri," The group of now three turned to see a couple men walking out of the alley and towards them. There weren't any discernable features about them other than the fact they were both wearing plague doctor masks.
"She with you," Touya asked casually but Izuku could hear the subtle edge in his voice.
"Yeah she's my niece," The man on the right explained and Izuku had to blink. This guy sucked at lying.
"Names Dabi," Touya introduced. "That's Takeshi,"
"Nice to meet you," The other man said not sounding sincere at all. "It's about time for us to get her home so if you could just hand her back to me we can go about our way,"
"Sure no problem," Touya said looking over at Izuku and Eri and holding his hand out. "Come on Takeshi," Touya spoke but Izuku couldn't bring himself to move. Every fiber of his being was telling him to pick the girl up and take off. The guy said Eri was his niece then why did she run away from him. He was also certain that the vibrations coming from the girl weren't ones of excitement.
The situation got worse as the hairs on Izuku's neck began to stand up.
It was a feeling he got quite often. He got this feeling whenever he was being watched. More specifically before he got attacked by his Kaachan and his classmates. His green eyes swiveled around the area and took note of three other plague masks. Two to his left one to his right. He looked into the store display window and focused on the reflection. None were behind them.
"Takeshi," Touya called again causing him to look up at him. Izuku made eye contact with Touya before looking to his left and blinking twice then to his right and blinking once. He did this a few more times hoping Touya could understand. "Sorry about this he has autism so I think her running into him scared him,"
"Anything you can do to fix it," The impatience in Eri's 'cousins voice was blatant.
"Just let me calm him down and he'll hand her over," the cook reassured. "It'll only take a second," He began to kneel down and Izuku panicked that his friend hadn't got his message. Izuku opened his mouth to warn him but paused when Touya looked him dead in the eyes.
"Run,"
The night sky erupted into bright blue. Izuku grabbed Eri and ran across the street as chaos erupted around him. He could hear shouts behind him but he paid no attention to any of it. He was focused on keeping the child in his arms safe.
He maneuvered through the back alleys with relative ease and familiarity. These alleys had been his friend when it came to escaping his tormentors. Of course they also served as the location of his worst beatings but that didn't matter right now. He made one last turn before slamming his back onto a wall and taking in a few deep breaths. He couldn't do this forever. He needed to call for help.
Acting quickly, he reached into his pocket for his phone and clicked on the first number he saw.
"Hello Izu~" A feminine voice cooed.
"Toga!" Izuku shouted. "We were attacked!"
"What!"
"I'm running with the little girl they were after,"
"Wait what girl?" Toga shouted
"I'll explain later," Izuku answered. "Head towards the Plaza! That's where Touya is, I'll drop my location the minute I have a place to hide her" Without another word he hung up. He could hear the echo of other footsteps in the maze and he was keen on finding out if they were friendly. He needed to get off the streets.
His eyes scanned the area before landing on an abandoned three story building. That was perfect. He could hide out with the girl there and locate the nearest police building or hero agency if he was lucky. Worst case he could tell Eri to hide while he leads her pursuers somewhere else.
Without another word he made his way into the building and took in everything. The place was decaying, that much was clear. Plastic sheets were strewn all over the place covering old furniture that hadn't been taken out of the building yet although who knew how much longer that would be. He took note of the stairs but thought better of it. He couldn't jump from the windows with Eri in his hands. He ran into one of the random rooms on the first floor and took in everything once again. The only furniture was a couch with a tarp partially covering it although this one wasn't see through like the once outside. To his left the wall had crumpled revealing this room had been next to the emergency exit. Which of course was blocked off by the rubble.
That was just great. He had to find another room, this one had to many dead ends.
Suddenly his ears picked up the sound of the entrance doors slamming open and footsteps.
"I heard something in here,"
On second thought this room was perfect.
"T-They found me," The girl squeaked having talked for the first time since Izuku had begun his mad dash.
"Oh I don't think I should eaten that parfait," Izuku groaned as he felt his stomach rumble. He had been been feeling weird ever since. Although that could have also been nerves considering the situation.
Looks like it was time for the worst case scenario.
"Listen," Izuku said softly. "I'm going to lead them away ok,"
"No don't go," Eri cried, tears welling up in her eyes. One look and the teen desperately wanted to tell her he wasn't going anywhere but that wasn't the case here. He needed to separate from her to save her.
"How about this," Izuku said gently. "Let's play the quiet game,"
"The quiet game?" Eri whimpered.
"Yeah," The teen continued. "I'm going to hide you and you have to do your best not to make a single sound understand," Slowly the little girl nodded. "Ok and when the game is over I'll come and get you,"
"How will I know it's you," Eri asked.
"I'll say a secret phrase,"
"Secret phrase,"
"Yep," Izuku smiled. "Binks Sake,"
"Binks Sake,"
"Exactly," The greenette complimented, petting her hair much like his mother did for him to calm him down. "If whoever enters this room doesn't say that phrase then do not come out ok,"
"Ok," She said hesitantly, Izuku gave her another smile and soon got to work. He placed Eri within the tarp but not too deep so that she could breath and hear safely.
"Whats the phrase,"
"B-Binks Sake,"
"Exactly," Izuku nodded. Then he closed the tarp and began enacting the next part in his plan.
Izuku stealthily but speedily made his way up the emergency stair case. He made his way to the third floor door and tried to open but found that he couldn't. He let out a growl of frustration but didn't dwell because he didn't have time too. Midoriya ran back down a flight and went through the second floor door.
Opening the door he spotted one of the man on the other side of the floor. All he had to do was make his way to the main stairs and go up to the third floor. They would think Eri was at the top when in reality was on the first.
He was almost in what he had deemed a safe distance from the emergency door but as with all things in his life it didn't work as the floor beneath him creaked. Izuku looked up at the same time the man did as he looked around before his eyes landed on Izuku. The two remained still for what felt like only looking at each other in surprise.
Then the man held his hand out sending a projectile at the greenette who dodged easily before taking off. He could hear the man behind them catching up. He needed to defend himself. Without looking he grabbed for the first thing on the ground and noticed that it was a pipe. Not the most ideal weapon but it would do.
Like in the alley way Izuku hid behind a wall and waited. Moments later the man flew past him in his search for the teen. Izuku got ready to turn back the way he came from but paused. That wouldn't work. What if the man caught him picking up Eri. What if he called for backup if he hadn't already. Know Izuku had to knock him out and then get out of here.
His mind made up Izuku began to make his way towards the man who had stopped to look around. Once he was close enough Izuku steeled his nerves. He could feel his body tingling but he ignored it.
With adrenaline pumping through his veins, Izuku swung the pipe hitting the man in the legs in an attempt to stop them.
"Gah," The man groaned before Izuku took off moving further and further away from Eri. He soon found himself back in the main hall and luckily enough next to the main stairs. He would make his way up the stairs and drop something out a window. Make the man think he jumped.
He took one step before something slammed into his side. The greenette stumbled before looking at what hit him to see a ball of ice.
"Hey!"
Izuku made the mistake of looking up as something slammed into his face with a sickening crunch. Oh his nose was definitely broken. The teen managed to regain his bearing in time to see the man create yet another ball and throw it at him. This time the teen ad the sense enough to dodge.
The quirkless teen leapt forward to take a swing but the man used his quirk firing another ice orb hitting him in the chest.
"Where is she," The man hissed as Izuku tried to get up.
"I won't tell you,"
"Wrong answer," The man growled as he created another ball and pointed at Izuku launching another one. Before the greenette could recover he felt another one slam into him. And then another, and then another and another and another.
On an on Izuku was helpless as the man ferociously pelted him with ice balls. He could taste blood in his mouth, and he was pretty sure a few things were broken but he couldn't be sure until he had a chance to look himself. Something the greenette doubt he'd be able to do anytime soon.
"You ready to talk," The man growled having finally stopped his onslaught. Izuku let out a few huffs as he caught his breath and let the pain subside, not that it was. Slowly he looked up at the man as his eyes seemed to shine despite the blood that covered his face. Taking a deep breath Izuku focused his mind and channeled his inner Kaachan for his answer.
"Fuck off,"
"Wrong choice," The man scowled kicking the teen in chest causing him to fall over. Before Izuku could react the man pressed his foot into the downed teen keeping him in place. "You only have yourself to blame for this," The ice creator said as he created two orbs preparing to beat the teen once again.
Izuku covered his face with one arm and helplessly reached out to anything close. He needed to stop this man but he couldn't do anything.
If only he could reach him!
The man swung his arms down and Izuku closed his eyes preparing for the inevitable.
But the hit never came.
Bam!
"What the hell!"
Izuku felt the pressure leave his chest and allowed his eyes to open. The greenette spotted his attacker stumbling while rubbing his cheek in shock. Izuku wanted to question the strange occurrence but he wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth.
The stupor served as the moment the teen needed to leap into action. He grabbed his pipe and spun around to gain momentum for his next action. With a roar Izuku swung his pipe with all his might cracking his stunned assailant across the head. Sadly, the greentte knew that wouldn't be enough, his muscles had grown a bit since he started cleaning the beach but not nearly enough to knock another human being out in one hit. Dropping the pipe (purposely this time) Izuku gripped the man's shirt and twisted his body towards the stairs. He knew he was scrawny but he would do his best.
That was at least how Izuku appeared to himself. However, he had been committing to a workout plan as well as moving entire fridges for six months now. Long gone was the scrawny boy back on the roof. Now stood a teen that was still growing. If he wasn't so flustered from Toga touching him in general, he would have noticed that her hands had been sticking to his chest and torso as of late. (That and her insistence at him not wearing a shirt when he worked out at the beach)
With all the might his (not so scrawny) body could muster Izuku threw the man over his shoulder. It was a sloppy throw but it got the job done as he watched as his opponent tumbled down the rickety stairs. He watched with baited breath to as the man seemed to go still. He counted to ten just to be sure but the man didn't get back up.
Izuku almost felt his legs give out but he stayed standing. He still had a job to do. Not sparing the man another thought Izuku ran down the stairs and headed back to the room he had left Eri in. He could feel his blood pumping in his ears and his heart felt like it would burst through his chest but none of that mattered. Only Eri mattered. Arriving in front of the door he opened it quickly and looked over at the tarp.
"Binks Sake," Izuku huffed out. Eri's head immediately popped from under the tarp Izuku had hid her in. Once she saw Izuku she scrambled towards him as fast as her little legs would take her. Izuku kneeled down and wrapped her into an embrace.
"Y-Your hurt,"
"Not at all," Izuku lied. His left eye felt heavy. "Let's get you out of here," He had spotted the Fatgum agency building out a window. It was just three blocks away. He was sure he had enough adrenaline to make it before falling over. "Let's get out of here," Izuku said gently.
BAM!
Eri went still in his embrace having heard the same thing he had. At hearing the footsteps Izuku quickly shut the door albeint silently so not to alert them of their presence. From what he could tell it was more than one this time. Had the man called for backup?
"They found us," Eri whispered.
"Don't worry," Izuku said. "Everything's going to be ok,"
Izuku could hear their footsteps getting closer as well as multiple doors opening. He had no time to hide Eri again. Izuku held onto her tightly and held his pipe out in front of him with the other arm. He couldn't afford to let her go or they might go for her. Best plan would be to push his way through and just run. He felt his back tingle a bit but paid it no mind. He was focused on one thing. Getting Eri out of here at any cost.
He would keep this girl safe if it was the last thing he did. The tingling on his back seemed to spread but he assumed it was just adrenaline filling his body once again.
He could see shadows underneath the door. They were here.
"Bring it!" The injured teen bellowed as the door opened. He took a step forward ready to enact his plan. Catching them by surprise would allow him to run through them easier since they wouldn't be expecting it.
"Izuku!" The teen came to a halt as he took in who he was looking at.
"Brook?" Izuku called. Sure enough the musical skeleton was standing in front of him with his cane at the ready. Toga and Touya were flanking him and he could make out Kenji and Jin's heads behind them. Touya's eyes were hardened as blue flames surrounded his right arm. Toga looked downright murderous as she held out a slew of knives.
"Izu!" Toga's look of murder instantly turned into a smile upon seeing him although that smile disappeared just as quick as she took in his appearance. In, fact they all seemed surprised about something. Did he look that bad?
Slowly Izuku let a smile spread across his face as he let Eri down.
"I'm so glad you're here," He whispered. Then Izuku finally let unconsciousness take him.
Little did he know that it wasn't his injuries that had shocked his friends. No it was something more alarming. For before Izuku had fallen out cold a plethora of arms had grown out of the teens back. Once he fell over they disappeared in a wave of flower petals.
HA! Bet you thought he was gonna get Gum Gum. So who saw the parfait coming I was dropping hints through out the chapter too. In all honesty I thought about it. Especially with some revelations in the last few One Piece chapters about the Gum Gum fruit. honestly I might still give it to him later on but that's neither here nor there. I wanted to go with aparamecia as they fit more with Izuku then the 'all powerful' Logia to even a power based Zoan. Plus Paramecias are just more fun. Its like a gacha game, you have no idea what you get but with creativity you can do almost anything with them. So what do you think of Izuku's first fight. He didn't come out unscathed at all but looks like everyone's favorite unicorn is now in safe hands. How will this effect plans for the future I wonder. Well thats all for now, you'll just have to wait and see what happens next. Also 3 chapters in one night . Thats a personal best for me. Well thats all for now. Until next time.
READ...REVIEW...and above all else...ENJOY!
