Y'all asked and here I am to finally gift you a different POV! Don't worry, I've always planned to have different POV's but Venti needed to be first to get to where we are at.
"We have a plan. It's not the best plan. But it's the only one we have. We need to track down everyone Lumine knows friendwise. It won't be too hard. Xingqiu is helping us right now in fact; as is Zhongli, that being said there's one in particular I need help finding. It's the Fatui Harbinger… Master Diluc… Kaeya… you both have talents for scouting out people like them…"
"Hey… you're Fatui, aren't you?" Diluc snorted at the man that sat alone in the corner of the local tea shop. The man looked at him, his bright blue eyes twinkling with amusement.
"What gave it away?" The man asked while clearly sizing Diluc up. He then extended his hand out to the empty chair next to him. An invitation.
"The mask." Diluc chose to sit but stayed wary with one hand ready to take his sword out if needed. "You know, the one clipped to that obnoxious shade of orange you call hair."
"You're calling my hair color obnoxious, buddy? I sure do hope you own a mirror." The Fatui laughed at Diluc.
Diluc snorted and crossed his arms. "Let's lay something down right now. I'm not your 'Buddy' and I sure as hell am not your 'friend' Got it?"
"Man, you should try having a sense of humor sometime... But, I'm assuming you tracked me down for a reason? The name is Childe, by the way." This 'Childe' actually brought his hand out for a handshake, but Diluc gave the hand a small slap away.
"I don't care. I'm looking for a Fatui Harbinger."
"A Harbinger? Why would someone like you, who clearly detests Fatui, be looking for a Harbinger? Unless that is-" There was now a malicious glint in Childe's blue eyes. "-You're looking for a fight."
"I am not. And I wouldn't suggest you would be either." Diluc kept his voice calm while he clasped his hands together. Diluc stared at Childe for several long seconds. Childe finally gave a chuckle and slumped in his seat slightly.
"I see your bodyguard back there." Childe was, of course, referring to Kaeya who kept close to the front door of the tea shop. Kaeya kept his eye on them the whole time. His arms were crossed lazily over his chest, but he was ready to attack if needed. "So… how'd you find me?"
"It wasn't hard. Seeing how hated you are in this city. Everyone pointed to this teahouse." Now Diluc sat back.
"I'm surprised the hostess let you in-"
"- All I had to do was show her how serious I was and she obediently backed off."
"Hm." Childe hummed with amusement and he took a sip of his drink. "I like you." He concluded. "You're a man who gets things done."
"Thanks." Diluc's tone was so dry it made the desert look wet. "I appreciate it."
"What do you want from me? If not a fight?"
"Let this be known here and now, Fatui. I did not want to involve you. I'm only doing this because apparently, for whatever reason, you are… a friend to Lumine. Is this correct?"
"Girly?" Instantly Childe's tone changed to a worried one and he straightened up. "Is she alright? Did something happen to her?"
Diluc gritted his teeth. "I'm afraid so. Yes… I can't tell you everything, but I'll try and explain what I can…"
Albedo sat down in a chair next to Lumine's bed. He hoped she wouldn't take offense to him sketching her while she slept, but with her surrounded by flowers he just couldn't resist. Maybe, if given the Okay, he'd gift it to her when he was finished. He looked outside of the window for a moment, the full moon giving him plenty of light to work with. "Don't worry, Lumine… we're working on finding the people responsible." He muttered more to himself than to the sleeping woman. "None of us will stop…" There was a snap and he looked down at his drawing, he had accidentally snapped the tip of his pencil. "Dang." He grumbled.
Albedo went for another pencil when there was a knock at the door and he paused. 'Who knows I'm here?' He hadn't told a soul he'd be visiting Lumine, not even Sucrose. When Albedo started to stand, a voice spoke on the other side: "Is there a Albedo… uh… Kred...Kreideprinz? In there?"
Albedo frowned at this as he approached the door. He kept his sword hidden behind his back before cautiously opening the door just a crack so one of his eyes were visible. He didn't recognize this voice and felt it better to be safe than sorry. The person on the other side of the door jumped back when she was greeted with only Albedo's eye.
It was a woman, she looked harmless enough. She wasn't wearing any armor or didn't even seem to have a weapon. She wore a simple green tunic and light brown pants that stopped at her knees. "That would be me." Albedo put his sword away and opened the door a little farther once he concluded the girl wasn't a threat. "How can I help you?"
"This is… just so weird." The girl shook her head sending her hair flying with the movement. She then reached into her back pocket and pulled out an envelope. She presented it to Albedo.
"A woman told me to give this to you. She said it was urgent."
Out of kindness, Albedo took the letter. "If this is about Klee being in Liyue, I've already been informed, thank you-" He got ready to shut the door. Yes, he knew about Klee and he would be having a stern talk with her when she returned. Both he and Jean.
"She told me you might say that." The woman actually gasped out in shock as if she couldn't believe what she was saying. Albedo froze in the doorway as he looked at the letter he almost got ready to disregard. "She told me that you absolutely must read that letter! She said lives were at stake."
Albedo's heart took a straight drop into his stomach. "I see… did she say anything else?"
"Just that everything you need to know is in the letter."
At some point between the late night and early morning, Klee had awoken. At first, she was a good girl, like Jean instructed her to be. She just sat by and waited for Razor or Lisa to wake. But over time she was starting to grow bored! 'Klee can only count so high…' She huffed and stared up at the ceiling.
So, to pass the time, she stared out of the window. The view wasn't too impressive, it was just staring down at the docks and the boats. However, she did get to see the sky start to change colors over time. It went from an inky blackish blue to a lighter shade of orange. It was real pretty watching it glitter off of the ocean. With the rising sun came the life of the city. People started to pour into docks and do their daily jobs. Klee bounced excitedly on her knees watching all of this.
Then something caught her eye. Two little boys. They were racing towards the boats in a playful way. "Hey… Klee wants to play…" Klee never really gets to play with the other kids in Mondstadt. Timmie was too busy with his birds, Flora with her shop, Diona in her own words said: "I'm too old to play with you." and the other children avoided Klee. They said she was 'too loud' and 'too destructive.' It made Klee sad.
"Maybe those boys will let me play with them." A ray of hope ran through her and she couldn't help but to smile and bounce with a little more vigor. She then looked back at Lisa and Razor, both very much asleep, showing no signs of waking any time soon. Lisa had offered Razor a bed, but Razor said he was comfortable on the floor. Klee almost wanted to wake him, but felt it was rude. 'Big brother Razor always looks so tired… and I know Lisa doesn't like to get up too early in the morning… I mean, I'll be close to the hotel, and I probably won't be gone for too long.' Klee told herself.
She got off of the floor and dusted off her knees and dress. 'Jean said my dress is getting too small. Maybe I can get a new one in Liyue! Oh! Klee has some mora saved up!' Klee smiled at the idea but then frowned, her mora was in her backpack and her backpack was with Lisa. Lisa had the bag laying next to her in bed. Probably on purpose to keep Klee away from her bombs.
Klee pouted for a moment, but then she had an idea. 'I don't need my bombs. Just my Mora. So, I can leave my bag here, that way I won't be tempted into any fish blasting!' With a satisfied nod, Klee happily marched over to where her bag was.
It wasn't hard taking the bag in the first place. Lisa had always been a heavy sleeper. Klee collected all the mora she had that was already in a mora bag, and put it in her pocket. "Don't worry, Dodoco, Klee'll be back." She whispered to her little Dodoco before pausing and looking at her little friend. "Don't look at Klee like that… what? You want to come along? Heheh." With a joyful laugh, Klee unclipped her friend from her bag and put him in her other pocket. She then put her bag next to Lisa.
Klee walked towards the door and reached up to turn the knob. Ever so quietly; Klee turned the knob, opened the door, and stepped out into the hallway. When Klee shut the door, she looked at it for a few seconds. "I'll be back before they even know I was gone." She told herself. Though, she'd be lying if she said she didn't feel a little bad about doing this. She knew she should wait for the adults to wake, but she figured everything would be fine and so she turned down the hallway and made a break for the door.
With her arms out, she ran, happily giggling as she did so. "This is going to be so fun."
Klee ran like she was being chased and the moment she stepped outside she stopped. The wheels in her head turned as she debated what she wanted to do. Most of Liyue was just starting to wake up, people walking to their jobs, hanging up (or grabbing) their laundry from lines, the streets were starting to fill and Klee realized that Liyue was a lot more crowded than Mondstadt.
"What should I do, Dodoco?" She pulled out Dodoco and waited for a second or two before nodded. "You're right. Klee should go and talk to those boys she saw earlier." So, Klee went for the docs just behind the hotel.
She ran with her arms out like before this time with Dodoco in her hand. A couple of workers gave her a passing look, but nothing more than that. Klee couldn't hold her attention on any one thing, she had to look at everything around because Liyue was a new place and there was just so much to look at.
"Whoa!" A voice suddenly called out, but it was too late and Klee slammed right into a lady. Now, Jean was tall, but this lady was tall. Taller than Jean.
She had on thigh-high boots that were embellished with gold that almost seemed to resemble a dragon's tail. She had long brown hair that seemed to reach mid-back, some of her hair was put up with a hair ornament that was really pretty and looked to be made of gold. She wore a weird looking red dress that had slits on both of the sides showing off her legs in the front but it covered the back.. "You have an eyepatch like uncle Kaeya!" Klee couldn't help but say as soon as she saw that the lady had a red eyepatch over her left eye. "Only uncle Kaeya has it on his right eye."
"Oh?" The woman got down so she and Klee were face to face. She had a nice smile.
Klee giggled. "Yeah, he said he got it from his great-grandpa who was a pirate- hey! Are you a pirate?"
"That I am." The woman smiled. "Captain Bediou is my name."
"Cool!"
Bediou chuckled at Klee and lightly patted Klee's head. "You're not from Liyue, I can tell."
"Nope, I'm not. I'm from Mondstadt."
"That's a long way from here. And you're here all by yourself?"
Klee shook her head. "Klee's big brother Razor, and Lisa, are in that hotel." She pointed to the building in question. That made Bediou smile a little more.
"Oh, that's good. I was afraid I'd have to get the Millelith involved. It's not safe for a little girl to be wandering around by herself, you know. Maybe you should come back with an adult?-"
"Captain Bediou."
"Ah, Kazuha." Bediou turned to talk to this 'Kazuha'. Klee poked her head from behind Bediou to look at him.
"A new crew mate?" He playfully inquired. Klee frowned and scrunched her nose up, making a face while doing so. When Bediou looked at her, Klee just shook her head vigorously.
"No. Unfortunately not. Regardless, Is something wrong?"
"A letter for you. I was told it was urgent that it got to your hands." Kazuha told her and handed her a letter.
'Huh. Grown-up stuff.' Klee decided she didn't need to stick around and when Bediou's back was turned, she took off and disappeared amongst the crowd. She shot her arms out as she took off full speed for the boats where she saw the boys earlier.
It really didn't take Klee long to track them both down as they were playing on a docked boat. The moment she spotted them she rushed in. "Hi!" She called from her spot on the dock, both boys jumped and looked at her with wide eyes. Clearly they weren't expecting her.
"Uh… hi?" One of the boys spoke softly and waved at her.
"My name is Klee!"
"Klee? What a dumb name." The boy in blue huffed at Klee and crossed his arms over his chest.
"D-Don't be mean, Meng! She's clearly just trying to be nice. I'm Fei and this is Meng." The boy in beige introduced himself with a smile.
"Oh, those names are so pretty." Klee smiled at them.
"Tch." Meng turned away with a suck of his teeth. Klee frowned at this. Had she upset him somehow?
It was like Fei had read her mind. "Ignore him. He's just grumpy because Lulu hasn't been coming around lately."
"It's just not like her."
"Who's Lulu?" Klee inquired before she finally stepped on the boat and approached the two of them.
Fei smiled. "Our friend-"
"-Clearly not anymore." Meng grumbled. "It's been days since we've seen her. So, clearly she never cared for us at all!" He threw his hands up in irritation.
"Have you tried her parents?" Klee suggested suddenly. "She could be sick?"
"That's the thing… we don't know who Lulu's parents are or where they live in Liyue… if they even do." Meng sighed. "It's clear. She just doesn't like us anymore."
"... well… maybe Klee can help in some way!" Klee suddenly volunteered. "After all. Klee is a Knight of Favonius!"
"A… what?" Fei asked with a head tilt.
Meng suddenly let out a barking laugh. "A knight of Favonius!? From Mondstadt? That's got to be the worst lie I heard today!"
Klee puffed her cheeks out at this. She felt anger rise. "Klee is not a liar!"
"You're telling me you're one of the esteemed Knights of Favonius from Mondstadt? You?" Meng gave Klee a harsh poke in the chest. It stung. She didn't like it. "You're my age, and you don't even have a vision-"
"Klee has a vision!" She tried to defend herself from this meanie.
"Then where is it?"
"It's-"
On her backpack in the hotel room.
"Not only that but look at those ears." Meng suddenly, and cruelly, tugged on her ears. "Those things are rather ugly if you ask me."
"Ow!"
"Meng-" Fei tried to interject, but he was quickly drowned out.
"Why would the knights have anyone as ugly as you on their team, huh!?" Meng continued to painfully tug on Klee's ears.
"Jeeean!" Klee tried to yell for her protector but was quickly reminded that Jean was not here in Liyue. Oh, how she wished she would have brought her vision. Maybe it would have shut this bully up. "Stop- I- Ow! You're hurting me!" Klee felt the tears start to sting her eyes. The more she tried to struggle out of Meng's grip on her ears the harder he tugged and yanked. It stung and she hated every moment of it. "Ow, ow, ow!"
"Hey-" A soft voice suddenly sounded from Klee's right. It was a girl's voice. If it wasn't for the fact that the girl was literally right behind Klee, she might not have heard the strange voice at all. Then a hand shot out and before Klee knew it Meng was harshly slapped across the face forcing him to let her go.
That was when Klee felt arms wrap around her shoulders from behind and she pulled into someone's body. She looked up at her savior. A part of her hoped it's be Ms. Lumine, but wasn't. No, it was a teenager that saved her.
This teenager had long unkempt black hair that reached down to her butt. Klee noticed how pale and tired the teen looked, her hazel eyes almost void of all emotion and there were noticeable gray bags under her eyes while her eyelids were half-dropped. Her skin was pale, almost translucent as Klee could see the bluish-green veins in her arms.
Meng stumbled back at the slap and held his face where she had hit him. The girl leaned in slightly and some long strands of hair fell in front of Klee's face like thin black curtains. "Serves you right. You want to call her ugly? Maybe next time look in the mirror, jerk." The girl stuck her tongue out. "C'mon, Sweetheart."
Klee didn't argue. She took the woman's hand, but not before turning around and sticking her tongue out at Meng. The two of them walked off the boat and once far enough Klee felt it okay to speak again. "Hey, thanks for that!"
"Heh… no problem. That boy was a brat and clearly he needed to be taught a lesson…"
"Yeah. He was a jerk. I just wanted to play with them…" She sighed. "But nobody ever wants to play with Klee."
"...hm… well, don't listen to him, Klee. Boys are jerks, that's all they are and all they'll ever be."
'Not all boys are bad.' Klee opened her mouth to reply, but paused when she heard the sound of a tummy growling in hunger. Only, it wasn't her tummy growling in protest. "...Are you hungry, miss?"
"..."
Klee frowned as the two of them continued to walk in uncomfortable silence. That was when an idea popped into her head. "Klee has some Mora if you want to get something to eat." She smiled at the teenager. The teen finally stopped walking, forcing Klee to stop. Klee tilted her head as she looked at the teen's back. 'She's really thin…'
This teen was wearing a threadbare dress that hung off of her skinny form so much that it might as well be a sack and not a dress. Klee made up her mind right then. She pulled out her little Mora pouch and tried to give it to the teen. "Here! Let's go eat together! Consider this my thanks!" Klee pulled the teen towards the restaurant.
"You… is this all of your Mora?"
"Mhm! But don't worry, I can always get more!"
"I can't accept this, really, in fact we should-"
"Nonsense!" Klee reached up and grabbed the teen by the sides of her face. "Master Jean says we should always be kind to others. You're clearly hungry and Klee won't allow that!"
"...right…."
"What would you suggest eating?...uh…" Klee looked at the teen. "Klee never got your name." She turned and smiled at the teen.
"My name?... I guess you could just call me Dahlia."
