Over the next month or so there isn't a single sound coming from the apartment next door. And the noisy neighbor, as well as the dark haired one, have managed to elude her. Much to Weiss' dismay.
During a break after one of her classes, Weiss decides to stop by one of the small cafes on campus and get a coffee and study for a little while. As she waits in line, rapidly texting her sister a response to a message she'd received while in class, she hears a familiar voice.
Her neighbor. Standing two people ahead of her in line with a slightly taller, and also attractive, blonde. She can tell that they're at least friends, but definitely have contrasting personalities. Seeing as how the blonde is talking loudly while the darker haired girl reads something intently on her phone. They were standing relatively close to each other, almost shoulder to shoulder. Maybe they were together, and not just roommates? Weiss wasn't sure. And honestly, why should she even care?
Moving the thought to the back of her mind, Weiss immersed herself back into the message thread with Winter on her phone, waiting for her turn to order. By the time she looks up again she notices the other two women are no where to be found. Probably having left after picking up their drinks. When she pulls out her credit card to pay for her order the cashier dismisses it.
"The woman a few places ahead of you went ahead and paid for your order and tipped for you. She said to tell you sorry again for her roommate." The cashier smiles and ushers Weiss toward the pickup counter.
She's somewhat taken aback by the forward action. But not wanting to cause a delay in the barista's line, she just adds a few additional dollars to the tip jar and moves along. Coincidently, Weiss allows her thoughts to linger on her neighbor for a little too long. It causes her to lose focus while trying to read and study for the duration of her stay in the coffee shop. So she accepts defeat and makes her way to her last class of the afternoon a little early. After all, early was always considered on time. Or at least that's how her father taught her and her siblings.
And it wasn't like she was daydreaming, but if there had been a quiz over anything discussed throughout the entirety of her last lecture, she would've failed. Shaking her head disappointedly to herself as she walks out of the business building, she tries to pull her thoughts back together. And away from a certain neighbor.
Sure the girl was borderline gorgeous, and courteous, if their prior interactions were any indicator. But Weiss knew virtually nothing about her, this neighbor of hers. She didn't even know her name. So why was she so interested in finding out more?
