"I got a 78. That's basically failing."

"No it's not. It's nearly a B."

"Might as well be an F. That's what it feels like after weeks of studying and busting my ass."

"Does the professor drop the lowest test score or anything like that?"

"Weiss, it's med school, not undergrad."

The sigh of defeat that Blake lets out almost breaks Weiss' heart. The silence that follows is gut wrenching. Weiss is desperately trying to wrack her brain for what to say.

"Do you want to go to dinner or something? Maybe take your mind off it?"

"No. I think I just want to hang out at home by myself tonight, if that's okay?"

At first, she wants to deny that request and demand Blake be with her. But she understands the stress can sometimes be overwhelming and Blake just needs time to decompress.

"Whatever you need."

"Thank you." Blake's voice fades off slightly and it makes Weiss worry a little more.

"But if you need anything or you change your mind, please call me or text me."

"I will. I'll talk to you later."

As soon as the phone line disconnects, Weiss begins to busy herself with other things. She picks up around the house and reads for the next week's class for nearly two hours. Though she does check her phone countless times, finding no messages or calls from her girl next door. Eventually, Weiss runs out of things to distract herself with and lays down dejectedly on the couch.

Not two minutes after she lays down, she hears her phone signal for a new message. Thinking its Blake, she grabs it quickly and unlocks the screen.

- Hey, it's Yang. Stole your number outta Blake's phone.

~ How thoughtful of you.

- Yeah, yeah. Anyways… just wanted to ask you something…

~ What could that possibly be?

- Are you crazy? Or just clueless?

~ If I knew what you were referring to, I could possibly be offended by your accusation.

- Blake has literally been in her bedroom for hours, lying in bed in miserable self pity all day.

~ She said she wanted to be alone.

- So let me teach you a little something about moody Blake… when she's like this you don't want her to be alone. Because it only gets worse.

~ So what do you suggest I do? Just show up unannounced and do what?

- The front door is unlocked, I'm leaving to go work on homework in the library. Good luck.

After that, Yang's messages ceased and she heard the disturbances from her noisier neighbor making an exit next door. Was Yang right? Weiss decided it was better to risk it and be wrong than not risk it at all. The thought of Blake succumbing to the stress and anxiety of med school wasn't a great thought to have in her mind. So she slides on some shoes and walks next door.

Like Yang said, the door was unlocked. From the decor alone, you could tell that two completely different people lived here. One neat, clean and obsessively organized, and the other… not so much. Weiss could see one of Yang's jackets slung over the back of a chair instead of on the hanging rack beside Blake's. Blake's keys hang on the hook near the door, Yang's missing, just like her.

She makes her way across the living room and toward the side of the apartment where Blake's room is located. The bedroom door isn't shut all the way, so Weiss peers through the gap. Blake is laying on her bed, huddled into herself on her side. Weiss lets out the deep breath she'd been holding, making her way across the room. Carefully, she slides onto the bed and lays down beside Blake, pressing her chest against Blake's back.

At first, Blake flinches from being startled, but when she feels Weiss wrap an arm over her and grab her hand, she feels Blake's heart begin to beat slower.

"What if I don't make it?" Blake's voice is small and uncharacteristic. Blake was normally so prepared and confident when it came to her studies.

"Don't be silly. You're brilliant." Weiss gives a light squeeze to Blake's hand.

"I've come a long way, but I'm still so far from finishing."

"And you will finish. And once you do, you're going to be the best doctor in all of Remnant."

"I don't know about all of that." Blake turns over to face Weiss, uncertainty still clearly present in her eyes. "But you think I'll be a good doctor?"

Weiss gives one sure nod of her head.

"I do. Without a doubt in my mind." She brushes the stray hair from Blake's face and rests her hand against her cheek, running her thumb over the skin there.

"I have about three months until I take the second part of my board exams."

"So you have three months to make sure you're ready. And we will do whatever it takes to make sure you pass with flying colors."

"You have your own stuff to worry about. I don't want you to have to worry about mine too."

"I won't be able to, if I know that you are working yourself to death and struggling and I'm not doing what I can for you. If you want to be my girlfriend, you have to let me help you. I want to."

"Guessing this offer isn't up for negotiations?"

"Not at all."

"Can I ask for something else though?"

"Depends on your offer." Weiss teases.

"May I have a kiss, please?"

"You may." When Blake leans in, Weiss reaches up and presses her index finger against Blake's lips to stop her. "Under one condition."

"Whatever you ask."

"Something tells me that you have neglected to eat anything all day. So if I allow a kiss-"

"Or two?"

"A kiss, you have to let me either make you something to eat or we can order food."

"I will take a kiss and pizza for two, please."

Weiss rolls her eyes before giving in and placing a soft kiss to Blake's lips, holding it there a few seconds longer than she usually would. Once she pulls back, she sits up and hops off the bed, holding her hand out for Blake to take.

"Do you really want pizza, or do you just not want me to cook?"

"Last time you cooked, Yang missed class for a few days because she made the mistake of eating my leftovers."

"Fair enough. Pizza it is."

"Yang did deserve it though."

"But of course."

Once they make it to the living room, Blake wraps her arms around Weiss' waist and pulls her in close.

"Just one more kiss, please?"

"Just one." Weiss can barely whisper before the distance between them is gone again.
