"So, have you guys done… you know…" Yang wiggles her eyebrows at Blake, who fully picks up on her insinuation.

"No. We have not. And quit being rude." She doesn't even look up from the textbook she's reading.

"You guys have been dating for a while now. And not once? Please tell me there's been at least a little reach under the clothes action."

"There's more to relationships than physical intimacy, Yang."

"Uh huh, yeah, I've heard about that." Blake finally pulls her eyes from her book, hearing the insincerity in Yang's voice.

"Weiss and I just have a lot of things going on right now with school and stuff. It hasn't been in the forefront of my mind. I don't want to rush."

"You're not normal." Rolling her eyes when Blake looks at her, deadpan expression, before she continues. "I mean, if I was dating Weiss, I'd be all over that. Twice."

"But you aren't. And please don't speak about my girlfriend like she's some kind of selection on display at the local deli."

"I'm just saying, Weiss if fairly attractive. I don't know how you have the self control. Because I wouldn't."

"You make yourself sound primal. I need you to focus on your own studies instead of my relationship."

"Getting a masters in musical theory isn't all it's cracked up to be. Kinda boring to be honest."

"Then remind me again, why you are even bothering if it bores you so much?" Yang's posture straightens a little before she answers Blake.

"So that I can teach music and music performance. It is my dream, doctor."

"I'm not a doctor, yet. And Weiss isn't just fairly attractive. She's amazing, gorgeous, smart and everything else good I can think of or imagine."

Yang leans back against the kitchen counter and crosses her arms, a little surprised by the severity of Blake's reaction.

"Slightly defensive today, aren't we?"

"No. I just care, is all."

"Look at you, catching all the feelings." She stands up straight and moves to grab the rolling case full of equipment she uses for work. "Remember what we promised though, nothing and no one is supposed to hinder us from graduating."

"Weiss isn't a hinderance."

"Says the one that had an anxiety attack over a 78 a few weeks ago." She opens the door to leave, looking back over her shoulder. "Just be careful, Blake. Don't come all this way, just to give up for a girl."

"I wouldn't give up." Blake mumbles, somewhat unnerved by the suggestion that she would even consider it.

After Yang leaves, silence settles through the apartment. Which was perfect, because Blake had board exams to study for. But also now that Yang was gone, Blake was left alone to think about what she had said.

Physically, their relationship was progressing rather slow. Not that it was an issue. Not at all. For Blake, at least. There had been some times where she could tell Weiss may have wanted to push a little further than where they were. But if she had an issue, she hadn't said anything.

Blake wanted to, but she didn't want anything to distract them from their studies. But at the same time, she felt like she wanted to share everything in her life with Weiss. Which was also a new feeling. She was so used to keeping details about herself private. And just really never had cared enough to share anything more with others. Just when she was beginning to sink deeply into her thoughts, Blake hears the low hum of classical music through the wall.

Weiss must be studying.

It's relaxing. Honestly, knowing Weiss was close by was calming. A few hours later, the music is still playing. Blake eats dinner and gets ready for bed. Eventually the music does fade and the silence returns.

- How was your day? Get any good study time in?

~ Nothing too spectacular happened. Did laundry and I finished all my readings for this week.

- Nice. Very productive.

~ Very much so. Nothing better than clean sheets.

~ Well, unless of course you were in the clean sheets with me.

Blake can feel the blush flood her cheeks as she reads the two messages Weiss sent over and over. It was tempting to get up and run next door, but she knows she shouldn't.

- Being with you is quite nice.

Wow Blake, way to be lame. She thinks to herself as she slaps her palm to her forehead in embarrassment.

~ Maybe after your boards we can do that…

Blake reads the text a few times, feeling excited and guilty at the same time. Was she suppressing the growth of their relationship for the sake of her education?

- No negotiation would be needed. I promise.

~ I guess you will just have to pass your boards to find out.

- Can we talk about something other than that test? Please? Like how much I'd rather be snuggled in clean sheets with you. Or really just with you.

~ Funny how much you miss me when you're next door.

- You don't miss me?

~ Not once have I ever said that.

- Okay. Just checking.

~ It's late and I have lecture at 8 tmrw.

- I know. I'll let you sleep. I'll text you tmrw.

That night, Blake dreams about sitting in an empty room with only Weiss and her boards exam. But she can only walk up to one. Before she can decide, she wakes up in a cold sweat.

Hopefully it would be a decision she never has to make.
