Thousands of years later
The True Queen will rise from the ashes when the stars align, clothed with the sun with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She will flee into the wilderness to a place where she is to be nourished and given the wings of the great dragon to rule all the nations with a rod of iron.
Storybrooke is long forgotten when someone stole the powers from Mills' legacy to cast a curse to return to Enchanted Forest. She rules Enchanted Forest, day in and out, the fake queen terrorizes the people with great fear and tears for they have no home and security. No one dares to call her evil, but they refused to call her queen, Lady Beelzebub, for she can fly and do magical wonders. She wears beautifully as an unadulterated woman with diamonds on her head and seduces to create deception, but they know not to put their faith in her or it'll cost their lives. The armies guarded the Excalibur, the sword from the old savior and only one True Queen will touch to redeem the people of Enchanted Forest.
The werewolf clan, the White Kingdom, and the Mills are at endless wars and strife that the Lady Beelzebub doesn't care about except supplying them with ammunition and weapons. Lady Beelzebub only wants to prolong the war for her to search and kill the True Queen before the girl takes her throne.
The family name I was given is Berta, I hated my name but my mother before me told many stories about the woman which makes her sound so stupid but became an honored wise woman. I live in a small cabin hidden from Lady Beelzebub in the middle of a war between the Charmings, Mills, and werewolves. Lady Beelzebub doesn't care enough to stop the war but to make it worse than it was fifty years ago. I believe we are punished or cursed, but either way, I was able to find love with Prince Charming, James.
I never knew why there's a law that we cannot court with Mills and Charmings, my grandmother told me to leave them alone and only marry someone outside of their families. I could only meet him after my parents fell into a deep sleep for me to safely sneak out. We have our hiding spot, and he speaks of peace and love which makes it enchanting love between both of us. We have a strange connection that I have never felt before, it's exciting and exculpating.
We met when he was riding with his brothers to hunt for rabbits, and I was sitting under the tree to hide from my parents. He thought I was a rabbit when he was about to shoot the arrow then our eyes connected and instantly warmly smiled. It was five seconds of pure heaven then his brother called him away. I have come every day ever since hoping he'll return and surprisedly he did the following week of the same day we met.
We have been courting for seven months now in secret as I lay pretending to sleep while waiting for my parents when timing myself. It takes them almost an hour for to sleep. I anxiously but patiently waited for them to go to sleep. Come on, mom and dad, sleep!
I ran through the forest to our hiding spot and waited for James, it normally takes a while for him to arrive as he told me. He lives on the third floor with his brother for protection in case the armies run upstairs to look for them. He sneaks through the back door, in a deeply hidden door on the brick walls surrounding the castle.
My eyes lit up the moment he rode with a big smile, "James!" He jumped down and ran to me then picked me up and swirled me around, "my love, it was too long since we last saw." I softly kissed his lips and he gladly returned the kiss. He softly runs his fingers through my hair when we deepen the kiss.
"How long do we have to hide, James?"
"Soon, my love," smiles as he kisses my lips, "I've been planning our escape, but we need to find a place."
I became disappointed, but I put on a big smile because I knew he wouldn't give up searching for a place where he doesn't care about richness. He sold a few of his precious items for gold to buy land to build a house for us. He paid someone to build it for us, I told him I don't care as long we are together.
Weeks of secret courting and planning, I packed a few of my belongings awaiting to hear from James. He will be here at the crack of dawn before my parents and siblings are awake behind the cabin. He will whistle mocking jay bird sounds to inform me that he's here.
My siblings and I were working on the field when we saw a group of militias riding towards us. I grabbed my younger siblings inside of the house as we hid while my parents respectfully bow before the high guard of Lady Beelzebub.
The man in black armor suit opened the parchment reading out loud,
"You're hereby ordered to pay land for tribute and taxes. If you're unable to disburse, we will take a quarter of your land as a fine."
My father bowed before him to go into their bedroom, opened the floorboard to take a bag of silver. I heard his heavy sigh, it sounded he's sad or upset. I spotted the small brown leather bag, but it only had less than 10 silver coins with the look of his worried eyes.
"Sir, I only have ten-spot," showing the high guard ten silver guards.
"We will take your pigs," the soldiers were searching the land in case they couldn't pay taxes as they whispered in his ears.
"Sir, I need the pigs …," the father respectfully moved forward trying to find another way to pay, but the high guard wouldn't hear of it when he raised his arm, "silence."
"You have until the weekend to pay the remaining tribute." The militias rode to the next house nearby. My father raised his arm toward the house instructing us to stay inside when my younger brother called out, "dad?"
I hated when they would come, they would come every six months or is it three, the months are getting shorter, and we couldn't afford to pay anything. We are barely living off one acre of farming to eat and pigs to sell. My father raises pigs to sell at the meat market, he only had two and now they took it. The militias rode back past us after a few hours as we stayed inside, waiting to hear the militias return.
How can I leave my family who needs me when I could find work to earn extra to help them? My siblings who need me, this made me reconsider certain things and James. I would need to talk to James first to make sure they are taken care of before we decide to elope.
He came at dusk miles from my home a week later with the promise to bring gold and jewelry for them to sell. He said this should last them at least 3 years, and it ought to give dad time to rebuild the cabin and continue selling and trading for extra coins or emergencies.
We departed together the following month after he prepared the cabin on the other side of the Island, securing our ship and property to start our lives together; however, we were unexpected of my unborn child.
I kept throwing up while sailing, my husband kept nursing me, but the trouble started when I started screaming. The glow in my stomach killed three men, my husband fought them not to throw me overboard. I realize at this moment the law of mating with Charmings and the Mills. I remember one story where one of our descendants had powers, I thought great-grandma was making it up. I told my husband the story, but he didn't believe me until he saw the glow the second time. It grew three times a fold and it kept becoming stronger each time.
I couldn't see each time my stomach blew in bright light. I have no idea what this comes from. I screamed, cried, and freaked out the entire journey, I kept hitting my husband to do something. He has no idea what to do with this and our unborn child.
My wife, I can't do this! She'll kill us all! I ran a third time and she blew bright white light; it wasn't the color of the sun or the sky. It's so bright that you could only see the color white, blinded. The first two times, the magic, whatever this is, killed several men. I had to protect my wife from the men throwing her overboard, but now it's happening again. I held her hand when she screamed, her eyes bawling out in pain, oh the anguish. I couldn't do it anymore; I must go back home and pretend this didn't happen. I kissed her forehead and apologized for doing this to her. I know she couldn't hear me except the screaming of her voice. I sat on the small boat while watching how the magic white light destroyed the ship with the men as we rowed back to Enchanted Forest. There were only five of us left, we promised not to speak of this and erase this part of history.
