Berta's mother and I had a major argument because I refuse to let her reincarnate unless Athena agrees to bring me back into my human body only when she's in danger. Mother won't let it down when she brings it up again. I angrily shot her a look, "You want her to fulfill her destiny then allow me to help her or it's out of the question. No discussion!"

"Regina…"

"No, it's not up for discussion." Berta hated when we had a heated disagreement when she protested between her mother and me. Her mother and I never got along, even though I tried to be a little nicer. Emma lightly pushes her mother away, "she means well."

"My love, please don't fight," Berta protectively wraps around me, trying to reason between us. Berta has the destiny to prevent the Enchanted Forest massacre. Sima's daughter will marry the King, the King's advisor will plan to trick the King to sign the order to kill the entire Enchanted Forest. The King will seek a mistress, which he will choose Berta out of five women. Berta will find out the truth and confront the King to protect Enchanted Forest. The King has a law that no one can appear before the King unless given permission. Berta would have the courage to appear before the King without permission. It takes a lot of courage.

"Regina!"

I abruptly look at Berta, shaking out of my anger towards her mother. I heavily sigh when she affectionately wraps around me. "I'm sorry." Emma walks back from walking with her mother, "she's persistent, I give her that." Emma kisses me on the cheek for reassurance, "it'll be ok, babe."

Masha is now four years old. As I looked down through the foundation, they were coming so my spirit flew down through the waters. The father is chopping wood and the mother is cooking, preparing for dinner. The two sisters are to watch Berta and the brother is helping the father. I can't change or interfere to allow the family to live. They were not supposed to live, according to Athena. Alice issues an order three days ago to kill all babies under five years old, not three. She's waiting for children of age to know which have a red mark, but it wouldn't matter. She didn't want the people to overthrow her knights, it's her fear.

I appear before the mother first to apologize for what's to happen next as I whisper, "call your girls to help you."

"Girls, please help me."

The girls obeyed their mother, running back into the house, "Yes, mother?" I went back to the young girl playing in the forest, trying to divert her eyes instead of what's coming. I don't want her to see the bloodbath of her adoptive family. The knights will search the grounds for a kid, they know there's a four-year-old girl living here.

Masha looks up at me wondering who I am.

"I'm your grandma, Masha."

She hasn't spoken a word since she's a baby because of magic. I pointed at the huge yellow butterfly, "look, a butterfly." Masha excited her eyes wide and ran after it. I sadly spotted the knights riding up to their house, the father is still chopping wood and not paying attention.

"It's enough wood, don't you think?"

The father became exhausted and stopped for a moment to look at how many woods he chopped. He thought it'll be enough for tonight and will get more in the morning. He immediately dropped the wood when he saw the General hopped off the horse with his knights.

The girl was still chasing the butterfly when the mother called her out, but I made sure she didn't hear her because she's too far away when the house is on fire and the General ordered everyone to search the grounds. Masha briefly looks back then follows me without question.

It was a hard year for Masha, carefully traveling and hiding from Alice and her knights. I couldn't hunt, but I showed her the berries. She's changed, more wild and unruly. She refuses to bathe and walks differently, but I kept her safe. One more year than her True Love will be in town. I found an empty cabin of a dead family near the town. I know they will not return to the house. It's dark and empty, but it'll suit me for now. Masha needs a blanket as I kneel before the sweet girl. "Stay here and I will be right back, I promise."

"Athena, I need hands."

The white dove flew above me glittering my hands as I became solid, blessing me with angelic powers. I blew the house to clean off the dust, the girl pouring out tears and hiding under the bed.

"Masha," speaking with a sweet voice as I carefully pulled her out. I rocked and held her tight until she fell asleep. I put her on the bed in the room, conjuring a warm thick blanket. I filled the cabinet with berries, apples, and water. Masha and I kept fighting, becoming angrier lately and I don't blame her. She lost her home and family, can't talk, and has no idea what's going on. A year flew by that Masha crawls and jumps everywhere in the cabin like a monkey.

I knew its time, "Your time has come, Masha." We walked through the back alley, hidden from the people and the knights. I helped her hide under the porch in the back of the Traven. Each day, I would whisper to throw out the meat and bread in the back. Masha hungrily grabs the food off of the muddy ground. Her True Love stood outside for the first time, awkwardly and nervous. She has been crying for days, broken from her ex. No one wants her, so her friend came to the rescue.

I waited until dark, it's cold and ugly in the Enchanted Forest. There's no peace in sight, there's always someone crying and everyday knights are killing people. My heart broke for my families at war against each other, brother against brother just as the prophecy foretold.

A beautiful red-haired woman will capture Masha's heart. I use air to blow as noise to make her suspicious. Masha came out to eat and I knew Davina spotted her.

"Are you alone?"

"Where're your parents?"

Davina kept asking questions, but Masha was in awe and studied her face then got scared when she wanted to come with her. Masha ran and hid under the porch when Davina called out.

"Wait."

"It's okay, Masha. She'll take care of you."

I know she doesn't believe me. I waited another three weeks for Davina to come back. Masha's terrified and refuses to come out unless she's starving. I made a banging noise to get Davina's attention.

"I'll check it out," Davina was talking to five other women who always sit outside, waiting for their men except Davina didn't want to be inside tonight. Davina curiously walks through the back alley and spotted a young girl, stopped because she didn't want to scare her. She ran back inside to get the chicken leg to lure and follow her.

"Go with Davina, Masha."

For the life of me, Masha fought hard with Davina when she tried to help her clean and properly feed her. She kept asking what her name was. I whispered to her ears, "Masha, her name is Masha."

Davina turns around, puzzled about who felt a breeze in the room. I repeated the name. Her friend came by to tell her that the boss wanted her in the gambling room but saw a dirty young girl.

"What are you doing with this girl?! She'll be furious!"

"I didn't want her to live in the streets, so she's staying with me."

"If she finds out …"

"She won't!" pushing her friend out of the room.

"I have to give you a name, a name to call you. What will I call you?"

Masha kept fighting with her eyes closed then she gave up when she gave her the chicken. The girl went to the corner to eat. Davina sat on the floor in deep thought, so I tried again in her ears, "her name is Masha. Masha."

Davina uttered a word in a whisper, Masha. I knew she thought of a name for her when she heavily sighs, "All alright, how about Masha?" Masha lit up to her, looking into her eyes.
