There's a little crossover hint if you can figure it out. Enjoy the chapter! I hope you all like it so far :)

Is it possible?

Can I really…?

Anything is possible, as long as one believes. If one chooses to, they can achieve the impossible. Just like them.

When the world was at it's worst, that is when light shall shine and dispel the destruction. Something I was taught the more I watch the endeavours of others.

But… it's against nature! She said-

Yes, she helps maintain time but she is not all powerful as others would like to believe. If a new branch must be formed, then she'll be aware but will not be able to stop it if it's meant to happen, but what you do is up to you.

Will you just allow history to repeat despite all the knowledge you now have at your fingertips?

I…

What would she tell you? Will you allow ruin to form once more? Or will you rise up and stand up, stronger than you were before. She chose to help, she chose to believe in you. Now the question is- Do you believe in yourself?

V gasped awake from where he was, his eyes shot open now taking in the surrounding area- just outside his birth home.

"What…? Why am I here?" V looked at his right hand to see his arm was now bare. Startled he looked down to see nothing causing him to look around.

"Oi! You awake now?" said a voice that startled him from his daze. Looking up he spotted Griffon flying over his head, realising where he was he looked at forwards to see a white fox staring at him with worry. Her eyebrows furrowed as she stared at him. Confused as to what was upsetting him. Seeing this V closed his mind up quickly as he remembered that she could read his mind.

"Don't tell me you've zoned out again! Ugh! Whitey can you believe this guy?" Griffon grumbled only to yelp as V moved forwards, kneeling down at the fox who moved back in surprise. Curiosity filled her eyes as she observed him silently before flinching from his next move.

"I'm so glad you're alright" V murmured as he hugged the fox close to his chest, not minding the lack of clothes or the chill. Instead his mind was now at peace knowing that she was alive. That he was able to go back in time to before she died.

"Oi oi! What's got you so mushy for? It's just a dumb animal" Griffon muttered earning him a dark glare from the fox, V meanwhile flashed him a cold look.

"She's… not a dumb animal" V growled before looking at Hara "She's more than that" surprised Hara looked at him not knowing what to make of this strange change of mood.

"If you say so" Griffon commented dryly as he scratched his head with his foot. "So what you going to do now?"

V remained silent as he reassessed his thoughts, his mind wanted to get his familiars back and yet there were some things that needed to be taken care of first.

"Hara?" the fox bristled and looked up in shock, not believing what she was hearing. "I know you can understand us and speak telepathically" V said softly as he stroked her cheek lightly.

"I also know you're not an ordinary fox, that you can change form… I just" V closed his eyes as he looked down at his arms, ashamed to look at her eyes.

"I'm sorry" Griffon and Hara's eyes widened in surprise as they stared at the other with bewilderment. Was this the same guy who refused to be humble or admit his wrong doings? What had happened when he was out cold?

"I was a fool, I took you for granted. Ignoring that you were trying to help. It may not have happened yet but for me, it already has and I want to make up for it" V looked at her with sombre eyes as he took in her tensed up form.

"Can… can we initiate another contract?" V asked causing Griffon to spew profanities due to the unexpected change of attitude.

"Oh so you'll form a contract with a fox but not me?!" Griffon yelled. Mentally smirking at Griffon's reaction V stared at Hara.

"However I have one request when we form this contract" V explained as he watched Hara staring at him with guarded eyes. Not trusting herself to allow any unnecessary situations to form up. It's already unsettling that he was somehow sent back in time. So what could he possibly want that would be worth this new contract.

Narrowing her eyes she stared at him with her chin raised high, signalling she was listening. Seeing this V sighed in semi relief knowing that she was willing to listen to what he had to say. Knowing that the fear was not truly unwarranted considering the situation. It would make sense that she would be on edge, time had it's own set of rules and thanks to an unknown entity he had bent it just enough so he could travel in time. How the entity had done so he was grateful and yet worried for the consequences. Would this mean the future would be more bleaker or would things turn out for the better?

Will you just allow history to repeat despite all the knowledge you now have at your fingertips?

V's mouth pursed as he stared at Hara a bit more.

"Can you… show me your true form?" V asked surprising the pair.

"Wait what? What are you on about Vergil? It's a fox! Are you saying that it's a demon because I would have sensed it was" Griffon retorted with a frown forming in his eyes. V shook his head causing his white hair to move side to side, his hold on the fox still tight but not enough to hurt her.

"She's a shapeshifter. It's just a form she's taken just to be here" V explained with a tired sigh. "One I remained ignorant about since the voice should have tipped me off, alas I was too focused on stopping my demon half to notice" V added while staring at Hara.

"Please, that's all I ask in this contract. I want to know who you are" V murmured softly as she narrowed her eyes.

"You know that's not a good idea right?" Hara spoke bluntly stunning the avian enough to make him screech in shock.

"Ho-Holy Shit she can speak! She's definitely not a normal fox! What the hell? How did we end up with her?" Griffon was spewing not believing his ears.

"I understand you are not from this time period, nor are you from this area but…" V sighed as he looked at her and stroked her cheek once more "if I am on borrowed time, I want to at least have precious memories. I want to live without regrets. But only if you can allow it" V asked softly. Hara's eyes continued to narrow in thought as she looked at her paws before looking up at him.

"Why are you so desperate to see my human form? It's not like it's that important is it?" Hara asked while tilting her head. A small smile formed on his face as the image of a white haired red eyed girl hugging Urizen's draconic form filled his mind. Just seeing the girl accept and caring for what would have been a harbinger of destruction, making sure no harm would come to him filled V with many emotions. Gratitude being one of them.

"Even if you can't show your true appearance, you can show something similar can't you?" V asked as she pondered his words.

"I'm only a visitor, the less of me known is better for everyone" she said gravely.

"I understand, just… think of it as a selfish request from someone who wants to fix things even if they don't have long left" Hara's right eye narrowed.

"That's playing dirty" she spat coldly earning her a smirk.

"And yet, here I am desperate to see your form" V agreed "makes me wonder how low I've sunk" V mused as she went silent. A low sigh left her lips as she shook her head in disbelief.

"Who did you even speak to that would encourage such a glib to leave that mouth of yours?" she muttered darkly before blinking. Looking up at him with narrowed eyes she placed her paws on his chest taking him by surprise by the sudden action.

"Son of a gun!" Hara cried out in alarm. "Are you kidding me?! She got involved! She never involves herself with just anyone" groaning she shook her head harshly.

"Alright fine!" she muttered surprising the pair once more. "Honestly, the things I do for people"

"Hara" V closed his mouth quickly while swallowing thickly, watching her jump out of his arms gracefully. Pausing she turned to look at him.

"I am thou, thou art I" blinking in shock icy black flames surround her form without warning alarming the pair as the flames grew larger. Startled V and Griffon watched in disbelief as they slowly evaporated leaving behind a figure standing before them. Long silver white hair flowed behind the figure while it was tied up near her neck. Wearing a long sleeved black three layered dress that reached up to her ankles black leggings could be seen underneath. The figure also wore black ankle-high boots without laces. On her hands looked like white lace gloves despite containing a satin like look thanks to the material.

On the center of her head was a medium sized blue pendent which contained a few small coloured stones around her head. Each one shone in a blue, white and purple as the light danced with each stone. Her skin appeared slightly pale but less pale than Vergil's skin colour. On the bodice of the dress appeared like lace white a few floral designs formed around her chest. Her wide sleeves remained plain except around the elbows looked like they were elastic due to the bell like appearance they gave.

Transfixed by what they were seeing the pair remained silent as a blue and white butterfly mask vanished from her face, watching as her eyes opened to reveal blood red eyes that left them tensed up due to how sharp they appeared.

"Happy now?" Hara asked bluntly as she folded her arms. Allowing her dress to change into a blue blouse with a navi blue jacket, her leggings soon changed into a pair of woolly black trousers, meanwhile her boots turned into black trainers. Brushing her sleeves slightly she felt them staring but paid no heed. "You know, it's rude to stare" she added before Griffon snapped out of his stupor.

"Well excuse me toots, it's not every day a fox turns into a human woman you know"

"Hmm" she mused before eyeing V who remained standing, disbelief filled his eyes before a a low chuckle left his lips. Narrowing her eyes to show she was not impressed she watched him blankly, hearing Griffon muttering how Vergil had lost the plot.

"Forgive me, but I never would have guessed that this would be a form you would take" V said while placing a hand to his face, not caring that he was smiling.

"He's lost it" Griffon muttered as he shook his head "the cold must be getting to him" at the same time Hara just stared at V without any emotion.

"You asked, I listened"

"Aye, that you did" V mused kindly, before looking up at her as relief filled his body. Knowing that he could finally solve things without regrets nor would he have to lose anyone if he had anything to say about it.

"I never would have guessed and it was quite foolish of me to assume" V moved closer towards Hara who's arms remained folded.

"Can we start over?" V asked gently, mindful that this would be the start of something and yes it scared him. He was aware that he was not alone and that things could work out well. If he chose to let it happen.

Staring at his hand blankly, she moved her eyes to look at his to see hope. A thing that surprised her deeply. Smiling she took his hand and shook it.

"Call me Hara"

"Because it is an alias" V added to her amusement knowing why she would not say her true name. "You can call me…" V's brows furrowed as he searched for something. It was then a name caught his mind leaving him feeling amused if not embarrassed by this lack of realisation.

"Vitalie"

"Sure Vergil, let's go with that" Hara smirked fondly at the male, meanwhile she continued to shake his hand as both agreed with the name and it's meaning.
