Nariko sighs heavily and manages to unlock her front door. She stumbles in and drops her satchel while she lazily takes off her old tennis shoes. She kicks the door closed and stretches her sore back.
"I'm home," Nariko says tiredly, rubbing the back of her neck. She takes out her phone while trudging into the kitchen, turning on the light.
Creepy Boss:
"house is ready to be put on the market will I be cleaning any houses for the rest of the week?"
"Food day?" Nariko asks herself, glancing at the whiteboard calendar attached to the fridge door. Not until tomorrow... or is it today since it was two in the morning?
The yellow haired teenager groans and grabs a handful of peppermints from the giant bag sitting next to the fridge. She walks out of the kitchen, popping a peppermint into her mouth. Five large trash bags were piled next to the old couch, all overstuffed with torn or old clothes.
Nariko groans and flips over the back of the couch, taking out her phone. She adjusts herself before grabbing the first large bag and dragging it onto the couch.
Lazy Boss:
"when will the clothes need to be fixed by?"
She tosses her phone to the side and grabs the sewing kit from the coffee table. Opening the bag, Nariko gets to work.
"I can skip out on my homework hour for sleep. It was only the first day of school. Man, that apprehension test shit was weird." Nariko sighs heavily, rubbing her tired eyes.
After today, she was hit with the realization that she'll have to be better than her best to even stay caught up with her class. She barely managed to get 12th place and felt completely dazed for the rest of the day, because the only way she could have gotten 12th was to overuse her Quirk. Not to mention that the teachers will be handing out homework starting tomorrow.
"...Three more years," Nariko slouches forward, rubbing her forehead, "just three more."
"Kaminari-chan!" Tōru's chipper voice startles Nariko from her half-awake state. She stumbles forward and barely catches the thermos in her hands. Tōru jogs over to the yellow haired teenager, waving cheerfully.
"Good morning!" Tōru exclaims, making Nariko hide a wince. She smiles instead and takes a sip of her coffee.
"Morning, Hagakure-chan," Nariko says brightly, screwing on the cap of her thermos.
"Yesterday was so scary! I can't believe Aizawa-Sensei lied to us," The invisible girl starts off with the conversation. Nariko does her best to keep her attention on her classmate while they walk to class together.
"I'll be able to clean two houses today. Maybe one Thursday and one Friday? I'll work on the clothes on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday." Nariko's focus trails off to her work schedule for the rest of the week. She had checked her messages while she got ready for school.
"–love your cardigan, by the way! How many do you have?" Nariko tunes back into the conversation when she and Tōru stopped in front of their classroom.
"Thirteen that aren't the same color. Twenty in total," The yellow haired teenager answers, messing with the sleeves of her oversized pink cardigan.
"That many? That's so cute!" Tōru bounces into the classroom, Nariko following after her.
"Hey, Kaminari-kun!" Eijirō greets loudly from his desk. The short girl smiles and waves back, still focused on Tōru.
"Midoriya-kun!" Nariko notices the green haired boy sitting in his seat. He jumps in surprise and blushes bright red, averting his gaze while waving nervously.
"K-K-Kaminari-kun!" He stutters out, giving a nervous smile.
"How's your finger? It didn't look so good yesterday," Nariko asks worriedly, walking over to his seat.
"It's–it's fine. Recovery Girl healed it!" The green haired boy reassures. His name was Midoriya Izuku and he got last place in the Quirk Apprehension Test. Nariko felt so bad for him, especially after seeing how strong his Quirk was despite it being so damaging. She felt relief when Shōta revealed he had lied to them so they would try their best.
"Move, extra!" Katsuki shouts from behind Nariko. The yellow haired teenager turns and smiles brightly when she sees the blonde walking over. Nariko quickly moves out of the way, so Katsuki could sit down.
"Hi, Bakugō-kun!" Nariko greets cheerfully, fiddling with her thermos.
"What do you want?" He asks with a scowl. Nariko brightens up and leans onto his desk.
"You were so cool yesterday! I can't wait for us to become heroes together!" She compliments him, making Katsuki scoff.
"Like I want to become a hero with an extra like you!" Nariko just giggles and focuses back on Izuku.
"I hope you learn to control your Quirk more, Midoriya-kun! I can already tell you'll become a great hero!" She says brightly before walking to her desk.
"Quiet." Shōta walks into the classroom. Nariko quickly slides into her seat, putting her backpack under her chair.
"Today's going to be a long day," Nariko thinks, stifling a yawn before taking a sip from her thermos. She should've made more coffee.
A nurse hums cheerfully, pushing her medicine cart through the sterile hallway. She stops in front of one of the white doors and takes out her keys.
"Good morning, Mónica-san! It's time for your morning medication!" The nurse calls out cheerfully, opening the door. A 36 year old woman looked up from her knitting, long black hair pulled back into two braids and warm brown eyes focusing on the young nurse. She smiles brightly and sets down her knitting needles.
"Karahashi Kiyoko!" Kaminari Mónica exclaims while raising her arms, "you're back from maternity leave! How's the baby?"
The nurse smiles softly and picks up two paper cups from the medicine cart. She walks into the room and sets them on the white nightstand before hugging Mónica.
"Wonderful. We had boy and he's the cutest! My wife and I named him Shigeyasu," Kiyoko says brightly, making Mónica laugh.
"Wow. It feels like only yesterday you had came to my room and told me you were taking maternity leave!" Mónica says, grabbing the two paper cups from her nightstand. She takes the pills quickly before drinking the water.
"You're making another cardigan, I see," Kiyoko changes the subject with a bright smile, taking the two cups. The dark tanned woman hums in confirmation, running a hand over the bright red cardigan.
"Nariko had said she needed a new cardigan on her last visit!" Mónica explains, holding up the nearly finished cardigan. Kiyoko's smile becomes a bit tighter as she feels the soft texture.
"Oh, Ninomiya-san will have some new yarn for you when he brings you your lunch! I heard it's grey and bright blue!" The young nurse says cheerfully. Mónica's smile slips off her face, eyebrows furrowing.
"Who is Ninomiya? Are they a new nurse?" Mónica asks, voice fading slightly. Kiyoko pales slightly, shoulders tensing.
"Ninomiya-san has been here for a year. Tanuma-san retired last year, remember? You've met him before," Kiyoko says, watching Mónica's expressions.
Mónica stares at the wall for a few minutes, face blank. It suddenly goes back to its cheerful expression.
"Oh, that's right! Kakuji is such a sweetheart," Mónica says while she grabs her knitting needles. She starts humming as she goes back to knitting.
Kiyoko quickly walks out of the room and closes the door, locking it. She sighs heavily, closing her eyes for a moment. Rolling her shoulders, Kiyoko walks over to the phone next to Mónica's room and picks it up. She dials a number and waits for a few seconds.
"Yes?"
"Mònica-san thinks it's the day I came back six months ago. It's not the right medicine," Kiyoko speaks into the phone while scratching her forehead. The voice on the other side sighs heavily, a small curse slipping out.
"We're getting closer. Is Nariko-san still visiting next Sunday?"
"Yes. She's bringing in the next payment, if I remember correctly."
"Okay. If we don't figure this out before then, you'll need to tell her. She connects with you the most."
Kiyoko sighs in annoyance and rolls her eyes with a scowl. Of course she's the one to talk with the spoiled little brat.
"Of course." Kiyoko hangs up the phone and walks back to the medicine cart. She wipes the scowl off her face and goes back to her morning rounds. Hopefully they'll figure out what the fuck's wrong with that psychopath of a woman. She doesn't want to even see Nariko, the spoiled bitch, anymore.
Hey! Hope you like the new chapter! Bye!
