Chapter 2: My Family And A Little Bit of Daisy!

Pallet Town

(Red's POV)

"Daisy!"

Silence.

Everyone in the room went silent upon hearing me utter Daisy's name. All of them were shocked, eliciting each of their own reactions.

"Yay! Red said my name!", Daisy squealed, after hearing them says my name. A small red blush appeared on her cheeks

"Unbelievable...", Prof. Oak muttered in disbelief, shocked to see me utter his granddaughter's name. My mother's reaction on the other hand...

"*Gasp* Oh my... My baby boy said his first word...", My mother muttered as tears of joy started flowing. She embraced me warmly as tears of joy continue to flow from her eyes as she stares into my eyes.

After the hug, my mother and I turn to see Prof. Oak smiling warmly at us. He came close to us as he proceeds to rub my head, chuckling jovially.

"Well, I'll be! I didn't think Red would be able to say his first word until much later, and it's my granddaughter's name no less!", Prof. Oak said chuckling.

"My baby boy has said his first word I'm proud of him. Wait till his father hears this", My mother said gazing her warm eyes into mine with such joy and love.

Suddenly, the door was open as my father, Harrison, entered the living room.

He has white skin like my mother and wore a pair of light-gray pants with a length of rope attached to his belt and a matching shirt underneath an orange long-sleeved jacket. He has black hair and eyes with an orange cap with the yellow Pokémon Ranger Symbol in the front.

"Honey, I'm ho- Oh! Prof. Oak, and little Daisy! What are you doing here?", My father asked, seeing both Prof. Oak and Daisy here.

"Oh, dear come here! Our son said his first word!", My said still cradling me close in her arms. My father was surprised by the news before quickly coming up to us as he proceeds to happily embrace me and my mother as he struggles to keep tears of joy from escaping.

"Really?", He asked.

"Yeah! He said my name, Mr. Satoshi, he really did!", Daisy answer happily. Her cheerful smile never left her adorable face.

"*Chuckles* it's true, Harrison, Red here said Daisy's name, and happily as well.", Prof. Oak added. My father looks down on me, smiling proudly.

"Is that so? Then it looks like my son's growing up fast isn't he now?", My father asked rhetorically.

"He sure is dear. He's the apple of your eye.", My mother said as she lovingly stares at me along with my father.

"Yes. Yes, he is.", My father said happily as a lone tear rolled down his eye. He was proud and happy to see me grow up fast, and in return, I smiled back at him as I said my next two words.

"Mama! Papa! Oak!", I said strugglingly saying their names as I watched their reactions.

"He called us his mama and papa...", My mother muttered as she now cried even more tears than before as she proceeds to hug me tightly into her chest with all the love and joy in her heart.

"He called me... Papa.", My father said as he too joined my mother as he hugged both of us as joyful tears roll down his cheeks.

Prof. Oak momentarily went wide-eyed before giving me and my family a warm smile as he took in the happy scene in front of him.

Daisy looked at the scene with loving eyes as she gave a big happy smile towards us.

Two Months Later

Satoshi Household

(Red's POV)

Two months have passed since I uttered my first words and I'm now three months old. During that time, Daisy would often come and visit to spend time with me, much to my joy. She and I would often try and play with each other as I would at times praise and compliment her by saying her name and following it up with words such as "Cute", "Pretty", "Adorable", and "Beautiful" making her blush and smile warmly at me. One time, she accidentally let it slip that she liked me more than Blue, and sometimes called me an angel. I always enjoyed spending time with Daisy as she's just so adorable! And I know, she'll grow into a beautiful young woman.

So far I've learned some things during that two months here.

For one, I learned that I was born on July 15, the exact same date I was born back in my old life. Coincidence or Intentional? Who knows, probably doesn't matter anyway.

Two, during those two months I started opening up to my father here. Eventually, I began to love him just as much as my old father/tatay. In fact, he's very much similar to my father. He's hardworking, a little strict, he's dedicated to his work, and is passionate about his beliefs and morals, but in the end, loves his family, just like my old father.

I also learned that my father is a Ranger here in Kanto. I learned that there are two types of Rangers actually. At first, I thought both of the rangers in the main games and from the Pokémon Ranger series were the same, however, I was proven wrong in the end.

The PKMN Ranger you normally see in the core series games are of course a class of Pokémon Trainer, who like any other trainer, collect and train Pokémon, however, their main job is protecting wild Pokémon, keeping the environment safe, and making sure travelers or other trainers don't get injured or lost when walking through the wilderness.

In the Gen 3 games, Rangers initially used Grass-type Pokémon, but that changed In Gen 4 onward as they can use a variety of powerful Pokémon, similar to Ace Trainers.

The Rangers from the Ranger series on the other hand are not Pokémon Trainers, as their goals and methods for interacting with Pokémon are very different. They harness the power of certain Pokémon and utilize them to help defend nature.

They first begin as Student Rangers, and after graduation, they become Area Rangers. Area Rangers primarily operate out of Ranger Unions in Fiore, Almia, and Oblivia where nature is held in higher regard than in other regions.

However, a Ranger can gain a rare promotion to become Top Ranger, earning many new privileges. Pokémon Rangers use Capture Stylers to calm and control wild Pokémon to help them solve ecological problems, defeat criminals who use Pokémon to commit crimes, and arrest Pokémon poachers.

Basically, they act as a sort of cross between a police officer and a park ranger.

Also, these Pokémon Rangers usually have only one Pokémon, known as their "Partner" that is with them at all times and has been trained to a high level and these Rangers are equipped with a Capture Styler.

A Capture Styler is a device used by Pokémon Rangers that allows them to temporarily take command of wild Pokémon and has built-in phone capabilities.

It looks similar to a remote-controlled toy top. A spinning, top-like device called a Capture Disc is launched that is controlled from the main device.

These Pokémon Rangers do not usually send Pokémon to battle each other directly, but generally use the Pokémon with them to power up the energies and extra settings on their Capture Stylers or to distract wild or enemy Pokémon with attacks that are not directly offensive. These powers are known as Poké Assist and are activated by having the Pokémon Ranger absorb a wild Pokémon's power into their Capture Styler, whereupon their Styler gains extra abilities depending on the Pokémon's Type.

But enough about that. Anyway, right now I'm in the living room with my father seated on the sofa and my mother kneeling on the floor encouraging me to come to her, why? Because currently, I am struggling to stand as I try to walk with these little baby legs of mine.

It was a pain, both in the metaphorical and literal sense as my small legs struggle to keep me standing as I make my way towards my mother, who continues to call me forward.

I eventually reach her as she proceeds to happily hug me while my father looks on smiling proudly at me.

"My baby has taken his first steps.", My mother said still hugging me as my father chuckles happily.

"Yes, Anna. Soon he'll make us proud. I just know it.", My father said, proudly. My father then got up and went and pick me up, holding me high in the air as he stares proudly at me.

"Red, my son. Someday you'll make me, your mother, little Daisy, and even Prof. Oak proud. Why? Cause I see a bright future ahead of you. And with that, I know you'll do us proud. Always have love, care, faith, and believe in yourself and your Pokémon as well. Once you're old enough, go out and follow your dreams, Red.", As my father finished I smiled brightly at him as a lone tear rolled down my right cheek. I was touched and inspired by his words as they would forever be burned into my memory for the rest of my life.

My goal was set I'll be the best trainer there ever was.

I'll travel throughout Kanto catching, training, bond with all my Pokémon.

I'll be the very best like no one ever was.

Because I'm Red Satoshi, future Pokémon Master!

Pallet Town

Three Months Later

(Red's POV)

Three months have passed and I'm now six months old. During that time I've practiced walking and training my body a little. As of now, I can now walk somewhat well with a few difficulties mind you, but I managed.

Daisy and I got a bit closer as we continued to play whenever she came by as we would play games such as hide-and-seek, and Simon says, the latter of which I've never played. We also played this Pokémon world's equivalent of Duck, Duck, Goose known as Psyduck, Psyduck, Fearow. Yeah, despite me originally being mentally 17, I still act like a little kid sometimes.

Anyway, right now I and my mother are currently taking walk around Pallet as we pass by the houses here in town. I never really walked outside much in my old life. But when I do go and walk I'm usually thinking about something, to relax, or just to be alone in general. I never cared much for money, popularity, or even asking a whole lot as I'm very much, for the most part, reclusive.

I sometimes have trouble expressing or socializing I'm with anybody, in fact, I rarely socialize with anybody at all. I was always reserved and stayed neutral whenever I come across most people or strangers. That's just how I was back then.

Anyway, back to where we were. As I've said before, I was walking alongside my mother who held my left as we strolled around town. My mother was wearing a light blue long-sleeved shirt and a long lime green skirt that reaches her kneecaps as she walked with light pink laceless shoes.

As for me, I wore a small yellow t-shirt, black shorts, and a pair of small sandals as she and I walked around town.

As we continued walking, I felt relaxed as I walked with her. Rarely, have I ever walked with anybody in my previous life, but now, I felt safe and warm. As we walked I looked up at her as she looked down on me. She gave me a gentle to which I returned it by giving her my own. We laughed wholeheartedly as we continued the rest of the walk.

Soon enough it was time for us to head back home as the sun was setting. My father was out at work so it was just me and my mother. We had dinner and watched some TV before it was for my bedtime. I yawned as she carried me back to my crib. She bid me a good night, tucking me in as she kissed my forehead before quietly leaving the room.

I lay on my crib with a smile on my face as I closed my eyes before falling asleep.

To be continued.
