First night and farewell to the past.

Sorry for delaying the chapter but I hope you like it

Goo Jun Pyo and the others were shocked by what the Prince of the Wei Empire had said: "What did you just say?" Jun Pyo asked

"Goo Ga Eul" Tuoba Jun called her with an Icy glare at her "What exactly are you doing here?"

"I'm here to see my best friend" she replied and this time her voice came out shaky and there was shame in it.

"Best Friend!" he scoffed "Weren't you the one who accused her of coming in between you and your brother? Weren't you the one who forgot about her after you accused her of having a Red Card and setting the F4 up that way she can bridge the gap between you?"

Ga Eul opened her mouth to speak when the prince continued pointing fingers at them one by one

"Goo Jun Pyo, if you loved Geum Jan Di even for a bit, you should have protected her from your evil mother or at least trust her" He turned his gaze to Ji Hoo "Geum Jan Di trusts you with her life but you couldn't do anything to protect her from all the accusations against her"

"We were only using her to find the culprit that was setting us up," Ji Hoo said and the others nodded

"Those things happen at the Palace, so I won't blame you for it but you chose the worst possible way to hurt her and put into consideration that you believed her after she caught the culprit in the act. If you love her like you say you do, then you should have trusted her regardless of the evidence that was against her"

The others looked down in shame matchless Ga Eul felt the worst in them all for not believing her best friend when she swore five times in her face. She had turned her back and gave the comment that tormented her 'I regret ever meeting you

"I'm sorry" Ga Eul bowed to his highness "I'm sorry, I should have trusted her but my pride got the better-"

Tuoba Jun gave a heavy sigh looking at all of them "You shouldn't say that to me. So all of you leave and come back when I'm not around"

"You can't make us leave" Ha Jae Kyung almost yelled but thought better and lowered her voice "She is our friend and-"

Tuoba Jun cut her off "If she is your friend, what was she doing at the pool eating alone? And why was she crying?"

They all kept quiet like little kids being lectured

"Now get out" but before they could leave, the doctor came out

"The patient's family?"

"It's me," Tuoba Jun said "How is she, doctor?"

The doctor took a long pose to say but he had anger in his eyes.

"The patient has been consuming poison for a week. Has she been poisoning herself or has someone tried to kill her?"

"What do you mean poison, is it serious? How is she? Can you save her?" Woo Bin this time was the one who spoke

"She needs an operation. Luckily it didn't affect any of her vital organs but it somehow affected her lungs so she will have difficulties in breathing in the future"

"I need her parents' approval to start the operation. Where are her parents?" the doctor asked looking around

"It's me" the King of Wei had just arrived "I give my approval; my granddaughter should receive the best treatment."

"You are not her parent," Goo Jun Pyo said

"Who said I'm not her parent, can you prove it? I will let this slide for disrespectfully talking to me but like that but if you say one more word, you will regret it"

A week later…

Jan Di had been discharged from the hospital with a clean bill and healthy. The F4 had paid her a visit at the hospital even though they apologized, Jan Di felt uncomfortable around them. They were being good and kind to her but she kept her distance. She no longer smiled like before or eat with them like before. She always found a way to avoid them so one day, the F4 and their girls found her in the cafeteria eating alone and they decided to join her to eat

"Jan Di-ah, can we order food for you?" Ga Eul asked though nervous. She was now even afraid to approach her like before

"No thank you," she said formally to her "I cooked my food which I can afford" she went to open up her bag and get her lunch box

"By the way Jan Di-ah, you no longer live there at your old house, so where do you live now?" Yi Jeong asked "We went to visit you the other day but you weren't there"

She stopped eating for seconds and chewed more of her food not wanting to reveal anything to them. And of course, Ji Hoo knew her well to sense that she didn't want to talk about it. He made signals to his friend to keep quiet

"Oh by the way" Jae Kyung pulled out the card "I know this isn't the appropriate time but I hope you can be one of the maids of honor"

"Sorry Ha Jae Kyung, a commoner like me isn't qualified to be that" she replied but her voice made no room for debating

"Ohh, I thought we were friends" she looked down dejected for her behavior

"Well, we can go shopping. We can buy a dress that you will put on" Song Jae said. Her boyfriend has been quiet not that he wasn't but it kind of felt uncomfortable for her

"I already have a dress" she was now getting irritated with them coming here. She wanted to go but everyone seemed to be looking at their table. The uncomfortable silence continued and Woo Bin was getting impatient as well so he decided to come out with it

"Jan Di-ah, even though you said you forgive us but it doesn't seem that way. Have you forgiven us?" everyone glared at him and then turned back to Jan Di who was now keeping away her food. She seemed to be leaving them

"I'm going to class because recess is over and I have work to do" she replied and ready to leave but she stopped to look at them "If I hated you, I and all of you wouldn't be breathing in the same air as me" with that she turned her back and left

"Do you think she has forgiven us?" Goo Jun Pyo asked for the first time.

"She needs time," Ji Hoo said "What we did was the worst thing someone could do to a friend. So she needs time"

"But how about the graduation party we were planning to hold for her?" Jun Pyo asked

"I honestly have no idea. Ever since she forcefully reunited me with my grandfather, I haven't spoken to her and when I try, she says she is busy." He sighed and continued with his food though he didn't have any appetite

"So where does she stay?" Ha Jae Kyung asked them "So we can hold a party for her at her home instead of at school"

"There is a time I followed her but that prince is always there so I couldn't go on but with him gone it will be easy," Yi Jeong said

"So how will we do this?" Ga Eul said

"We wait for her after her class" Woo Bin smirked. Unfortunately, the girl in the question had already left school since she didn't have classes. Her car had come to pick her up and left without anyone noticing.

Jan Di now lived with her parents at their new home. It was a big mansion where the King of Wei had insisted for them to have it. He had offered them a lot of gifts and Jan Di and Kang San her young brother had been offered a life insurance card that had unlimited credits. Jan Di intended to pursue her career in China.

If you ever want to study in China, the doors of our home are open to you the King had told her before they left to go back to China

A few hours later…

Woo Bin and the others waited in all the corners of the gate to follow Jan Di to where she lived but their waiting was in vain. They left the premises the moment security guards informed them that Jan Di had left at around 2 pm. So meaning she had left after she had eaten her lunch

"I have a feeling that if we keep this up, she might go away from our lives forever," Ji Hoo said "I know her well and this is a sign she telling us that she wants to be alone and away from us"

"What Ji Hoo said makes sense," Yi Jeong said and his Ga Eul added "I also know her well, she doesn't want to push it because if we do, she might hate us for good"

"Okay then, let's prepare for your wedding love birds" Woo Bin grinned and lightened the mood.

The next few days before they went to Jenju Island, Ji Hoo has been trying to get Jan Di out of his mind but he couldn't. He kept on looking for her at their special spots but she hardly went there. She was always in the library, it became her favorite place so he also started frequenting it since he had to study for medical school. and even the Cafeteria or class. She was working hard even at the porridge shop where Ji Hoo and the others frequented in the evening just to talk to her.

They had managed to sway her to take the same plane to the Island to avoid heavy costs. They arrived at the Island and Ji Hoo found himself riding with Song Jae after Woo Bin offered to take Jan Di as she was planning to get a taxi to take her. Woo Bin always looked like he was a dump but he knew everything, He had secretly found out where she lived and decided to keep it a secret from the others to give her time to tell them

After the silence, Jan Di turned to him and smiled "Gomawo Woo Bin sunbae"

"It's nothing Jan Di-ah" he continued riding at a high speed but he still had a few things to say to her "How do you feel about this wedding?"

"How do you expect me to feel?" she asked him

"I don't know. The others are not around so go ahead and tell me" he spoke like a big brother to her

"I feel bad and also relieved that Goo Jun Pyo has finally met his soulmate" she smiled but her smile came out in pain and it didn't reach her eyes

"Do you know who your soulmate is?" he turned lightly to her but his eyes went back to the road

"I do and you, who is yours? Have you found her?" she asked with a grin on her mouth

"Not yet. But I plan on finding her if given an opportunity" he smiled brightly at her.

"By the way, I already know that Tuoba Jun is your friend and not husband-to-be. You turned him down because of Goo Jun Pyo?"

"No, it seems I can't hide anything from you so I will tell you"

2months ago.

After Geum Jan Di finished all her shits at the porridge shop, she carried her dish full of food at home to eat but unfortunately, she couldn't as she bumped into an old man and a young man of her age. The old man was covered in bruises and the young man seemed to be struggling to carry him. Geum Jan Di being kind-hearted, rushed to help them.

"Excuse me, do you need help?" she asked them "It looks like your friend needs treatment" she commented as she saw blood dripping

"Yes miss, can we please have some medicine and shelter?" the young man asked. Jan Di's heart skipped a beat as the man's voice was sweet and gentle that it made her want to assist. Jan Di led them to where she stayed to help them

"So you saved their lives and they wanted to return the favor by marrying you to the crown prince"

"Yes, but I did it because I wanted and besides he already has a concubine but his grandfather is looking for him a princess"

"I see but you already have the title"

By now Jan Di started to feel uncomfortable talking about her personal life with Woo Bin and he was sensing that she wanted to end the conversation so he lightened up the mood by putting some music which brought a smile to her face as he saw him dancing while singing and driving

Before long, they arrived at the Island and checked into their rooms. Ga Eul had requested to share a room with her but she turned her down saying she preferred to be alone. Ha Jae Kyung had requested to see her but she also turned her down saying tomorrow is her wedding day and she should be happy, not sad.

She looked around for nothing to do so she took a walk to find beautiful scenery and to take her mind off Jun Pyo who never loved her. She found herself in the field of sunflowers and this is what she needed. She didn't realize that she got company until she almost fell.

Ji Hoo had also taken a walk to have a breathing space from his clingy girlfriend and saw Jan Di heading to the field so he followed her from a distance

"Are you alright?" he asked tenderly and held her face

"I'm fine thank you" she replied pulling away because if she continued looking in his eyes, she might break down and that's the last thing she wanted

"Jan Di-ah, you've been distant. Do you hate me?"

"No, I don't hate you. I just want to be alone" she walked past him

"Grandfather misses you," he said a minute of their silence as they walked back to their hotel.

"When I get time I will see him"

"Do you want to eat? There is a restaurant" he pointed to the floor where the aroma was coming from

"No, I'm not hungry" she went to her room to rest

"Otter" he called and before he could say anything, his girlfriend rushed to him and encircled her arms around his waist "Ji Hoo-ah, where have you been?"

"I'm sorry Jae but I wanted to be alone" he apologized to her but his eyes were on Jan Di who turned back from them feeling a pang of jealousy for seeing them together.

"Oh, Jan Di-ssi, do you want to join us for dinner," Jae asked after feeling that his boyfriend was a bit uncomfortable

"No thanks, I will just order for room service" with that she left to rest because tomorrow was a big day

The F4 and the girls sat for dinner making toast for the couple who will be united in holy matrimony. "By the way, have you seen Jan Di?" Ha Jae Kyung asked her friends

"She said she would order room service" Jae replied

"I wanted to know what she would wear," Ga Eul said to her family "I wanted even to share a room with her but she said that she wanted to be left alone"

"Why don't you leave her alone," Goo Jun Pyo said getting irritated by now "If she never wanted to come here, she would have stayed not to give us a headache" it earned him a slap from Woo Bin

"So why did you invite her, you stupid idiot," Yi Jeong said

"Because I wanted to show her I have moved on" he sneered at his friends who kept on glaring daggers. Ji Hoo in the corner of his eyes saw Jan Di turning around and it seemed she heard everything they said.

"Excuse me" Ji Hoo rose from the table to follow her but of course his girlfriend wanted to know where he was going

"I will be back" he informed her and rushed to the exit. He saw her walking while her head bowed down as though she had no destination in mind. He made his way to her and held her wrist firmly before she could protest

"Let's talk" he led her to the beach to sit and calm down her nerves because she was at her breaking point.

"I know you brought me here to relive my pain but I don't think it will go away," she said to him

"I know when you are near water, you calm your nerves but I don't know how to help you. I have wanted to help you but I can't because Jun Pyo has moved on"

"I know so thank you sunbae but I will be fine. Tonight has confirmed how much of a loser I am" she sniffled "I shouldn't expect anything from him…so from now on, I will start a new life far away from everything" yes she planned on moving to china after their wedding to start over.

"Jan Di, remember I made I promise to you" he held arms urging her to look at him and she turned "I promised that we would find your dream together"

She nodded

"So please don't go away. Let's fulfill this dream together"

"Sunbae, you have a life to live. You've found happiness so I suggest that you focus on that" her words pained him. He didn't show hurt and emotions in his eyes but tonight, Jan Di got to see his pain

"So you don't want us to fulfill this dream together?"

"I want to but if I stay around you all the time, I will keep on seeing him and I also don't want to hold you back"

"Jan Di-ah" he gently pulled her in his arms "You could never hold me back" he kissed her head and continued holding her. After minutes of holding each other, he led her to her room to rest for the next day

Jan Di woke up at around 8 am to prepare since the ceremony wouldn't start in an hour. She had bought for herself a dress since now she could afford it. She walked into the church to have her seat and Ji Hoo couldn't tear his eyes away from this beautiful woman that made his heartbeat very fast. She had simple makeup on her that made her look fresh and elegant. She simply looked breathtaking. He turned to his friends not to be caught staring but they were as stricken as him. She was the only one in church wearing red and it made her stand out among the guests.

"Is that Geum Jan Di that I'm seeing?" Woo Bin asked his friends but none of them was blinking an eye even the groom was smitten by her.

Jan Di had made sure to stay away from the F4 after the ceremony. They had commented on how beautiful she looked and she thanked them formally and walked away, a few men of her age had approached her to dance but of course, Ji Hoo was the first to scare the boys away wanting to be the only one with her. After their dance, they had a glass of strong wine but it appeared it had been spiked. She excused herself to go to her room and sleep. Ji Hoo wasn't far because he said goodnight to his girlfriend and left. He met Jan Di in the hallway in his drunken state fumbling with the key to open her room but she failed miserably.

"Jan Di-ah, that isn't your room?" his voice was sloppy and he almost fell which made Jan Di laugh

"You know what Sunbae, this is the first…time seeing you drunk" she continued laughing but everything was blurry

"I'm not drunk" he defended and carried Jan Di to his room claiming it was her room. He locked the door behind him and got closer to her. He didn't think twice about kissing her deeply and she responded with hunger. They pulled back to breathe looking at themselves longingly.

"You know what Jan Di-ah, you are the most beautiful woman I have ever known" he spoke as if he was sober but yet drunk and he went on to unzip her dress and she allowed him because she was also opening his shirt. "Every time I saw you with my best friend, it was killing me and now there is that nagging prince who gave you one of your favorite candies yet it's only me who knew about them" the last part he yelled at her and her dress was completely off.

"Why are you yelling at me, you are the one who was in love with Unnie and I didn't stand a chance" she yelled back

"So we are even" they both said and then laughed at each other and what happened next could only be witnessed by God. Ji Hoo and Jan Di were making love and it felt so natural

Jan Di woke up in the middle of the night at around three when people were still sleeping, she nearly screamed to see Ji Hoo holding her in his chest as he slept. She remembered everything on how she got here. It was 3 a.m. and her china flight was at 4:30 am. She dressed up quickly and left the room forgetting her underwear behind since she couldn't find it. it was inside the bed with Ji Hoo

Ji Hoo woke up with the worst headache but the fact that being a man welcomed him, he felt good about the dream he had about making love with Jan Di. A knock interrupted him

"Mr. Yoon are you awake? May I come in?" one of the hotel managers a woman was at the door

"Come in" he covered himself. The woman came in with a blush on her face because his suit was on the floor. "What do you want?"

"Miss Geum asked me to give you this" she handed him a white envelope and left

Now he didn't feel well. He hesitantly opened the envelope and it appeared to be a letter

My fireman, this is the last time I will address you like that. Fate brought us together and it is the same fate that has separated us. By the time you read this, I will be gone from your life and everyone. I never stopped loving you Ji Hoo-ah but some circumstances brought us here. Please don't look for me because you will never find me. I am fine by myself. Take care of yourself and be happy because if you are happy then I'm happy
