Chapter 2

The next morning Lucy and Amanda were there early. "Morning you two come on in." Olivia was already dressed, she was wearing navy pants and a baby blue button shirt. Amanda saw her belt and badge on the coffee table. Noah was eating. "You are early. Did you eat breakfast?" Lucy smiled, "I had toast. Amanda doesn't eat breakfast." Olivia frowned, "Sit. Now!" They both sat and Noah smiled and ate his eggs.

Olivia put a plate with eggs, bacon, fruit and toast in front of Lucy and then did the same to Amanda. "Noah tell them." Noah nodded, "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day." Lucy ate it wasn't a problem. Amanda watched Noah and Lucy get up and wash their plates. Olivia put on her belt and hooked her badge on the front. Amanda smiled, she thought it was the sexiest thing ever. "Lucy, will you check his backpack and grab his lunch?" Lucy nodded. Olivia sat in front of Amanda, "Are you refusing, because Amanda let me tell you something, I can upgrade the spoon."

Amanda started eating immediately and Olivia smiled. Noah ran over, "Bye mommy!" Olivia kissed him, "Bye sweet boy, have a great day. Remember Lucy will pick you up." They all left together. Amanda stared at Olivia in the elevator. Olivia turned and looked right in her blue eyes. They each went to their cars. Lucy buckled Noah in his seat. After dropping him off they went to school.

After school Lucy showed Amanda a list, "We need to go grocery shopping and then pick up Noah. They got to the store and Amanda looked at the list. It had breakfast and lunch foods along with a dinner menu for the week. Wednesday was salmon, rice and broccoli. Thursday was baked chicken, carrots, and rice. Friday was homemade pizza night with salad. Saturday was blank and Sunday was veggie lasagna. She even had the following Monday, chicken stir fry. Amanda scrunched her face, "You know how to cook this stuff?"

Lucy nodded, "Yeah. I helped her make the menu. She wanted healthy stuff. I just don't cook because you're the takeout queen." Amanda shrugged, "Well, I'm not eating that and why weekends?" Lucy sighed, "She's on call this weekend, so I have to be there. Amanda, just like you have a job, this is really good money. Please don't mess this up. If it's too much, I can do it alone." Amanda frowned, they did everything together. After shopping they picked up Noah. Lucy sent text along the way saying where they were for updates.

Lucy started dinner and Amanda helped Noah with his homework while she checked on her work. Noah wrote his sight words neatly. He looked at Amanda's computer, "Is that a game? It has lots of numbers." Amanda laughed, "It's just work buddy." After that she turned on the TV. "No! We can't." Amanda turned it off, "Mommy only lets me watch it at 6." Amanda shrugged, "So what are we supposed to do? Look at each other."

Noah laughed and went to his toy box, "I can do other fun stuff." Noah held up his legos. Amanda rolled her eyes, "Whatever. Come on kid." Amanda ate her bag of cool ranch Doritos while Lucy cooked and cleaned the kitchen. Around 5 Olivia walked in. "Mommy! Look at what we built." Olivia kissed him, "Very nice!" Lucy explained she had dinner ready. Olivia looked through the mail, "Where are your plates?" Lucy shrugged, "Oh you want us to eat?" Olivia nodded, "Yes, you can't cook for us and not eat. Why would you go home and cook?"

Amanda answered, "We don't cook. We just grab whatever and I had chips." Olivia looked at her, causing her to swallow hard. "Well, that's unhealthy. Did you teach my son any new words today?" Amanda shook her head and sat down looking at the food. She watched everyone eat, even Noah. Noah smiled, "Amanda, it tastes good." Amanda looked at Olivia's stern face and started eating. Amanda sat with Noah after his bath for his TV time while Olivia and Lucy talked.

After two weeks they had a great routine. They even hung out with them one weekend and another weekend they didn't see Olivia at all. Amanda helped watch Noah, completed her work, and even tutored Lucy. Amanda was sitting in the cafe waiting for Lucy to get out of her class. She was catching up on her software work. Something else that came easy to her. She basically had a full time job with great benefits waiting when she finished school. She was a charmer and that's how she got the job. "Deep in thought?" Amanda recognized the voice before she looked up. She saw Olivia and a tall African American guy with short hair. "Not really, it's just work. I'm waiting for Lucy."

Olivia pointed, "This is my Sergeant, Detective Tutuola." Amanda waved, "What's up?" Fin smiled, "So you're the troublemaker. You can call me Fin." Olivia looked at the donut and milkshake, "Is this lunch?" Amanda shrugged, "Yeah. Are you here to harass me or…" Fin looked around, "Actually we are meeting a student. Liv, I think that's her. I'll start." Amanda asked, "What kind of cop are you?" Olivia smiled, "Special Victims, we deal with assault, rapes, things like that." Someone else joined the conversation. Amanda saw a paper put in front of her, "Are you and your best friend cheating?" Amanda saw the B on Lucy's paper, "How would we cheat. Maybe I'm doing something you can't. Teach."

Olivia shook her head. Dr. Donnelly saw Olivia's badge, "Figures the cops are talking to you. You're nothing but trouble." When she walked away Olivia sighed, "You know she has power, so insulting her and being disrespectful isn't good for you." Amanda shrugged, "Respect is earned." Olivia shook her head, "You're hard headed. See you tonight." Lucy came out and Amanda pointed to Olivia and also explained what happened with Donnelly. "Amanda, I want you to chill. She's crazy and is no one to play with." Amanda just shrugged, "Look we only have 3 months and we are done with her. I'm not worried."

The next week they were hanging out with Noah and Olivia should have been home, but sometimes she got calls. It was 5:30, so Lucy fed Noah. While Noah was in the bath Lucy got a phone call. "Liv, are you ok?" Olivia had been shot, but the vest caught it. Amanda went to the hospital to pick her up while Lucy stayed with Noah. She walked in the room and saw Olivia with her shirt off. Amanda saw her black bra and her bare stomach and a nasty bruise. Olivia laughed it off, "Good thing I had the vest on huh?" Amanda was terrified. Olivia put her shirt on and they left. She didn't talk in the car or in the elevator.

Olivia pulled her up against the wall and cradled her face, "I'm ok. I need you to pull it together or you will scare Noah." Olivia kissed her lips and then winked. Amanda stopped being scared and smiled. "There we go. Baby badass is back." They walked in and Noah ran to Olivia, "Mommy!" Olivia acted like nothing was wrong. Like she wasn't shot at all. Lucy hit her, "What's up. Your face. I know that look. Do not fall for her." Amanda just smiled.

The next day Amanda was waiting for Lucy as normal. The cafe was busy so she dropped her bag in the chair and ordered her drink. When she sat down she was surrounded by security guards, "We need to see your bag. We have reason to believe you have drugs and are here to distribute them." Amanda laughed, "You're fucking crazy. I don't do drugs. Here look!" They went through the bag and found weed and pills, "Call the police." Amanda was cuffed. Lucy got there right at the end. Amanda looked around and then she saw it. Donnelly was laughing, "Bitch!" Lucy was confused.

They turned Amanda over to the NYPD. Lucy watched her kick their door and curse. "Fuck you!" Lucy grabbed her keys and called Olivia. "Liv, I don't know what happened, but she doesn't fool with drugs. Family history you know. She acted like a fool though." Olivia believed that, she could only imagine. She asked Fin to help after explaining what she knew. "Fin, get over to Hudson. The cafe we were at, pull the footage and call me. You're looking for the blonde we met." Fin smiled, "oh yeah troublemaker. On it Liv."

Olivia was a Lieutenant so she had power. She called to find the precinct. "Hey Brian! I hear you have a friend of mine, Amanda Rollins." Brian Cassidy laughed, "A friend of yours. She's a handful." Brian Cassidy worked with Olivia at SVU when they first became detectives. They had a history of a few hookups. "Did you give her the phone call yet?" Brian smiled, "Nope. She resisted arrest, kicked my guys door, and cursed for 30 minutes." Olivia shook her head, "Tell her I'm on the way and see if that calms her down."

Brian walked to the box, "Leave me the fuck alone!" He nodded, "I plan to, but Lieutenant Benson is on the way." Brian watched her entire face change and he smirked walking away. Amanda sat quietly after that. By the time Olivia got there she received a call from Fin. The NYPD put cameras in the cafe. When they were there they spoke to a young lady being harassed by a Hudson staff member. Hudson decided to leave the cameras and add additional security. Fin sent the footage over. When Amanda left her bag, Donnelly dropped the drugs. It was clear. Brian called out, "Pick her up."

Olivia walked over to the box and Brian opened the door. Olivia was pissed. Amanda's behavior was totally unacceptable. "Ms. Rollins, you're being released." He explained what happened. "Try not making any more enemies." Amanda looked at Olivia, "Do I have to go with her?" I think I'll stay." Olivia rolled her eyes, "Let's go now!" Olivia called Lucy so she wasn't worried. "She's with me and I have to go back to the office. We'll both be there around 5." Lucy breathed a sigh of relief, "Thanks Liv!"

Amanda was quiet the entire way. "It's nice that you're quiet now. I heard you weren't quiet at all earlier. Don't forget to thank Fin." Amanda walked in, "Thanks Fin." Olivia's phone rang, "Benson!" She looked at Fin, "She's mad at me. It's my behavior. I'm scared Fin. What is she going to do to me?" Fin giggled, "I don't know, but you should be scared." Amanda walked into Olivia's office and stood at the door. She was on the phone and writing something. She never stopped and pointed at the seat. "Fin! Nick!" They both appeared, "Check this out. Vic is at Mercy."

Olivia sat on the edge of her desk, "What did I tell you about power and respect?" Amanda had zero control, "What the fuck? You're blaming me. She's a grade A bitch. I…" Amanda stopped because Olivia went from the edge of her desk to in front of her face. "Your mouth. You better control it around me. Your behavior today was out of line. Those were police officers. You don't get to throw temper tantrums. You certainly don't get to do it with me. This happened because you didn't listen. I told you she wasn't the one to fool with. When people have power and demand respect…" Amanda scoffed, "Bow down and kiss their ass right. Fuck that and fuck you! I'm out of here."
