WASHINGTON AIRPORT

Jaiden walked over to his mother as she put her phone back into her bag.

"So...Who'd you call, Mom?"

Kate shrugged and replied, "Someone."

"Do we know this someone?"

"Yes." She whispered. Jaiden, seeing the hurt in his mother's eyes, didn't want to say more so, he sat on a bench next to his mother and stayed quiet, staring out into the distance.

IN THE STREETS OF DC

Gibbs was speeding down the highway while the other person occupying the seat next to him, grabbed tightly onto the seatbelt around their body.

"Jeez, Dad! Slow down!" Kelly exclaimed while Layla scoffed from the backseat.

"Oh, please. You'll get used to his driving, Kells."

"As if I- Holy mother of Christ!" Kelly yelled as Gibbs took a sharp right towards the exit to the airport while hearing the "beeps" and "honks" from the other cars.

"Calm down, Kelly. He's not going to kill us." Layla rolled her eyes while Kelly turned around in her seat and gave her older sister a death glare.

"Shut up, Layla!"

Gibbs just rolled his eyes and continued speeding towards the airport.

"So. Why are we going to the airport anyways?" Layla asked as she finished the bag of chips she was eating.

"We. Are going to pick up a friend of mine." Gibbs answered, turning a sharp right again making Kelly squeal and grip tightly onto the seatbelt again. Layla tried to hide her laugh as she watched her younger sister.

"Shut up, Layla!" Kelly yelled before Gibbs pressed onto the braked making both Kelly and Layla fly forward in their seats.

"Ow!"

"What the actual hell." Layla grumbled as she sat back up and rubbed her forehead. Kelly sat back up and glared at her father before getting out of the car and slamming the door. Layla sighed and got out of the car as well and faced the airport. Gibbs took a deep breath before slowly getting out of the car as well. All three of them walked into the airport, looking around.

"So, who are we looking for?"

"Uh…" Gibbs trailed off once his eyes landed on her. Her hair was now a strawberry blonde, with bangs while her hair was in a low bun. Her nose was sharp, a strong jawline, and a pearly white smile on her face, laughing at something who he thinks is Jake's twin brother, Jaiden had said to her. He walked towards her while Layla and Kelly just looked at each other curiously but slowly walked behind their father.

Kate looked up and saw him. He was still handsome, tall, muscular, his lightning blue eyes shining brightly from the lights above them. His hair was a little more salt than pepper from when she last saw him, but still handsome either way. He still had that smug smirk on his face as he walked towards her. His eyes shining playfully but also with something she hasn't seen in a while. Love. She stands up once he's just three steps away from her.

Stopping in front of her, his heart starts beating rapidly as if it's about to beat right out of his chest.

"Katie." He breaths out with a smirk on his face.

"Hello, Jethro." She said with a small smile.
