Stage 1: A Soul as Red as Ground Cherry

Looking up at the sky, Natsuki thought back to what Reimu told him.

"You'll only get in the way, so I'll leave you at your home. Don't worry, I'll put up a hidden seal around your house so no one comes near your house."

That's what the shrine maiden said, but he was looking very bored with nothing to do inside his own home.

"Screw this, I might as well go explore. I did survive a barrage of bullets from the fairies."

Natsuki then changed from his casual home wear to his usual white t-shirt and blue jeans. Grabbing his black hoodie and putting it on, he finished preparing himself for a little excursion by completing his outfit with a pair black Converse.

Flying is the recommended way of travel in Gensokyo, but Natsuki decided that he would just run along the lake towards the mysterious mansion he saw when he was flying on Marisa's extra broom. Said mansion happens to be the source of the red mist covering the skies of Gensokyo. Reimu had gone ahead to catch up with Marisa, but not before dropping off the newcomer and casting some spell to ward off youkais.

"It's much more interesting to see the action and then learn. Who knows, maybe I could help," muttered Natsuki as he started to run at high speeds.

Somewhere along the Misty Lake, a young girl woke up after being beaten up by the Hakurei shrine maiden for interfering and then falling unconscious. Rumia looked around her surroundings, confused at what was going on, but soon saw someone running towards her.

Now, if that person didn't somehow have some kind of weird power, Rumia would have assumed he was a human and would probably try to eat him. She only looked at the person approaching her location curiously without moving. The guy was approaching at a very quick pace, until he came to a halt in front of her.

Natsuki had no idea what to do in thos situation as he sensed that Rumia held immense power and potential. He stopped because he realized the dark power he felt belonged to a small child youkai.

The two exchanged glances at one another until Rumia said,

"Who are you?"

"Uh, who are you?" Natsuki asked.

"Rumia, I'm a youkai of darkness!" Rumia said cheerfully. Her cheerful tone kind of unsettled Natsuki as he proceeded to introduce himself.

"Natsuki, Natsuki Komaeda. I just came here in Gensokyo."

"You are an interesting person you know?" said Rumia as she smiled.

"What do you mean by that?"

"I can tell you have something hidden deep within you. But well, no use prying into personal matters." 'Wait, why am I talking like this?' pondered Rumia.

"Huh, you seem to be hiding a lot as well. I have to go so maybe we'll seeeach other again?" Natsuki said nervously.

"Maybe, you're not entirely human so I won't eat you, haha!" declared Rumia, as she then flew away to the sky.

'A man-eating youkai huh? She's got blood on her hands, that's for sure. But she's too innocent to realize that.'

Natsuki decided to leave it for another time and continued to the mansion.

Notice: You might have seen a more recent FGO fanfic that I was planning on writing but I decided to scrap that for now. I will focus on doing an original story where Natsuki is one of the incident resolvers this time so I will be timeskipping. He won't be very OP as that would be lame. Regardless, I will be making him into a something of a mage basically. Take note that I said mage, not magician. Basically the same as Marisa, except he will be donning a casual modern outfit and yes, I plan on giving him a mini-hakkero as well. Custom made btw, I want the core to be something else while also having the ability to Master Spark as well. So yeah, if it's your first time here... Enjoy! This is my first attempt at writing something so please do review and send feedback on this. I might want to revisit this and improve upon it.
