DM77's Sing Chapter 4
Deception on the Prize
Soon all the people who auditioned were on stage all nervous as this was when those lucky enough to get into the actual contest will be decided. Now not everyone who applied was on stage but the majority of the ones we seen were there.
Kermit stood before them holding a clipboard and pen and looks over them. He walks across the stage everyone looking at him and said "Alright...let's see now" He turns to face them and they all stand at attention Kermit looks and walks across them as they all wait in anticipation. For started Kermit decided to pick the group acts first to weed them down to only the soloists
"I'll take…." Kermit said pondering as he looks at the groups he then sees the Seekers and said "You guys"
"YES!" Starscream, Thudercracker and Skywarp cheered in excitement as they go to Maria to get any info from her.
Kermit then comes to Duncan and Gwen he jokingly asked "And which of you two is the girl?"
"Haha, very funny" Gwen said sarcastically.
"Loud and horrible but shows promise" Kermit said reading his note "Welcome to the show" This caught Gwen but surprise as Kermit begins to walks away
Duncan smiles said "Alright, cool, I guess we can hang around here"
Hearing that Kermit corrected "No, no, I just want her, not you"
"What?" The couple said shocked.
Kermit then stands and said "Alright the rest of the group acts, thank you so much" Rita plays the elimination sound on a radio as the other group acts groan and begin leaving, to try and cheer them ups the frog said "Oh don't feel bad folks, there will be a 10% discount tickets on everyone here"
One audtionee name Eustace hearing this said annoyed "Yeah sure, thanks a lot"
"Pfft, let's get out of here Gwen" Duncan said annoyed and begins to leave but Gwen hesitates as she was in. Duncan turns to her and said "Gwen"
"Err..yeah, yeah lets go" Gwen said leaving with her boyfriend still conflicted.
Kermit looks at the soloists who remained and said "Okay soloists, will the following please step forward. Mondo Oowada, Roman Torchwick, Boomstick, Muscle Man, Wilt and Plankton" The chosen six step forward and Kermit goes straight to Roman and said "Roman, wowzer, honestly it will be a crime not to have you in my show"
"Ohhhhhh well if you insist" Roman said smiling while Neo claps from the audience chairs while he joins the Seekers in the chosen spot
Kermit walks around the remaining five and said "and I'll take Boomstick"
"Alright! Too bad I can't swear in this but awesome" Boomstick cheered as he follows Roman.
"and I will take one more" Kermit said as he walks behind the remaining four who stand at attention but Muscle Man looked very nervous "Let me see..." he was then behind Muscle man who lets out some gas and everyone gasps as he just farted on the host of the show.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry bro!" Muscle Man said embaressed as he then lets out another one "Oh, what is wrong with me this never happened before!"
Kermit shakes it off and said "Uh...thanks for coming Mitch."
The elemination music plays again as Muscle Man sighs and stomps his foot only for a scream to be heard "AH! You big oaf!" Plankton is heard and everyone looks on it shock as Muscle man accidentally stepped on Plankton
"Oh my...Plankton!" Muscle Man said picking him up as he was injured You alright, just hang in there. I gotcha" he said and runs off the stage to hurry Plankton to hospital all the while letting out more gas. Rita and Runt putting on gas masks.
Kermit watches this and turns around and said "Okay..." This made his final choice easier as he said "I'll take..." Wilt and Mondo stand wondering who he will pick "Wilt! Thank you Mondo"
Mondo looks down while the other solosits sigh they honestly thought Mondo was a shoo in. Regardless Mondo slowly begins to leave.
Kermit smiles goes up to Wilt and said "Wilt! Can you hear me? You're in the show."
"What?" Wilt asked confused he was so tall it was hard for him to hear people Kermit's size "I'm sorry, are you talk to me?"
"Yes" Kermit said and takes Maria's megaphone and uses it "I was saying that you are in..." Realization suddenly hits Kermit as he said "Geez, I feel this will drive me nuts..." He then turns to the leaving Mondo "Mondo! Get back here you're in" He turns back to Wilt and uses the Megaphone "Thank you Wilt! Goodbye!"
As Wilt leaves Mondo smiles and said "Yes!" He then quickly heads back to the stage
Kermit hands Maria the megaphone as he looks at his clipboard "Right...that's everyone on my list" The elimination music plays a third time as the remaining soloists sigh in disappointment and begins to leave.
"I love this think" Rita said smiling
"Yeah, it is a good sound effect" Runt said nodding
"Wait a second..." Kermit said looking at his list "Nicole Watterson, is Nicole still here?"
"Oh yes!" Nicole said making her way out of the dispensing crowd and waving her hand smiling thinking he made it in "Yes, I'm here!"
"Nicole, Nicole, Nicole..." Kermit said reading the notes on his clipboard "Great set of pipes but honestly boring to watch."
Hearing this Nicole sighs looking down and said "I knew it." She prepares to leave again
Kermit then said stopping her as he looks at the clipboard "So what should I do? I could perhaps partner you up with...Whisper. Whisper! Where are you?!"
Nicole was surprised on what she was hearing this. "Yeah!" Whisper is heard and zooms out the crowd "Whisper is here!" He then runs up with some speed jumps and twirls as he sticks the landing gracefully posing
Kermit laughs and said "Yeah! That will surely brighten things up on stage" He and Maria walk off
"Wait, you the two of us to sing together?" Nicole asked surprised at this
"Of course, I am not used to sharing the stage but I am positive the two of us will be as shiny as my armor together" Whisper said excited for this.
We come outside the thatre as Wiz arrive just as the Soloists were leaving.
Lusamine says to Lillie as they left "That frog is a fool Lillie, you are going to be a star some day."
Boris seeing Wiz stops him and said saddened "Auditions are done friend, the show has already been cast" He leaves as Wiz looks surprised.
Back inside Kermit, Maria, Rita and Runt were on stage with all the chosen contestants minus Gwenwho left with Duncan were on stage along with the chest containing the the prize money.
"Okay, you are my chosen few" Kermit said to them smiling as the contestant smiling. Unaware to Kermit the Inkling group come up behind him with a CD player "This is it everyone, a defineing moment in all of our lives" He looks and then notices the five Inkling girls "Um...no...no I've dismissed all the group acts already, you all can go home."
Not understanding him Callie bows to Kermit and begins talking in the Inkling language. Kermit trying to get them to understand said "No, no, look girls I am sorry but all the slots are filled."
Callie talks again in Inkling before hitting play in the CD player and the group sings Kira,Kira Killer again. Kermit surprised said "No, no, bye bye" He pauses the CD player and said "Miss Calavera!"
"Come on you guys, outta here" Maria said shooing them the Inkling girls giggle and run off leaving the stage.
Wiz seeing them smiles and laughs as he lets them pass and sits on a seat, he was amazed it seemed Kermit was right. However he feels something in his seat and pulls it out to reveal one of the flyers.
Meanwhile Roman and Neo get close to the locked chest and Roman said "Hey Kermit, tell me is the prize really inside this chest?"
"The prize? Of course sure it is all in there" Kermit said nodding
"Well come on and open it. I want to see what a $100,00 actually looks like" Roman said eager and this made the others approach and agree to wanting to see it
"Well sure I'll open it" Kermit said smiling going for the key but then he realized what was said and looks to Roman "Wait...what did you say?"
"He said $100,00" Wiz said near the stage and shows the flyer.
Kermit runs up to get a good look at it "A hun..." Kermit began but yelps in silence finally realizing why there were so many auditionees now he laughs nervous and balls up the flyer and said "I forgot my keys. I'll be right back" He then pushes Maria to leave with him quickly
"Well…this is concerning" Rita said as she and Runt leave to with him
"Yeah, the master hasn't got all the prize money, what is he going to do?" Runt asked
"No idea other then panic" Rita said shrugging.
We come to Kermit's office where Maria is crying over her mistake and worried she was going to be fired
Kermit sighs and said "For last time Maria, I am not going to fire you, it was an honest mistake so please blow your nose" Maria does so "No not in here, outside please" Maria leaves to calm down
Wiz who was in the office as well sitting at Kermit's desk looking at the flyer and said "Kermit, what did you expect she is like a hundred years old...though not all her fault Runt did distract her"
"I know but look, if your folks could just loan me the money to..." Kermit said but Wiz cuts him off
"A £100,00?! Kermit come on even if you were in there good books they wouldn't give you that much" Wiz told him.
"Oh...I got to think, I need to think" Kermit began mumbling and pacing.
"Look, maybe now it is time to stop thinking and move on." Wiz said looking around at the stuff "I mean this theatre of yours you can get some decent money for it and maybe I am not sure perhaps we can do something together"
"What?! Just sit around playing video game? Yeah!" Kermit said in annoyed panic. He then points to an old bucket "Do you know what that is?"
"Errr not sure but he science term for it is a bucket" Wiz replied
"Yes and do you know why I have this bucket?" Kermit asked
"Because the roof is leaking" Wiz replied
"No that's the bucket for the leak" Kermit said pointing to another bucket nearby and goes to pick up the first one and explain "I have this one because it belonged to my father. Everyday for 30 years he worked his tongue off washing cars just so I can buy this place. Everyday Wiz...Just for me" He sighs as his father is long gone now so this theatre is his last thing he gave Kermit.
"Wow...Sounds like a great dad" Wiz said understanding now why Kermit doesn't want to give up on this place, but there is still a problem with the fact the contestants believe the prize is £100,00 so he asked "So how do you plan to handle this?"
Before he could answer the intercom beams and Maria said "Oh Mr. Kermit, I've got Cinch from the bank holding on line 2 again"
Kermit sighs and said "There is only one thing I can do" He place the bucket back in it's spot.
We come to Kermit opening the doors to the theatre stage and walks in followed by Wiz, Rita and Runt.
Kermit approaches the stage and said "Okay everybody, listen up." Whisper seeing him shushes them so everyone had Kermit's attention "I going to have to send you all home. Right now."
"Huh?" The contestants said in confusion at this
"Yep, cause like my dad used to say, get a good nights sleep and do a great days work" Kermit said while Wiz facepalm realizing he is going ahead with the show and the contestants smile
"That's right, rehearsals begin first thing tomorrow morning" Kermit said running onto the stage "And if you want to become stars and win a hundred grand you got to work harder then you have in your lives. So get some sleep and dream big dreams!"
The contestants and Neo cheer happily excited for this, then behind Kermit the Inklings show and again start sing Kira, Kira, Killer again. Kermit sighs and calls out "Maria!" he feels this won't be the last he will see of them
As the contestants leave they smile and laugh at the Inklings. Meanwhile Maria comes with a broom to sweep them away again.
Wiz comes up on stage confused and annoyed and said "Dream big dreams?"
"I know, it good right?" Kermit said as he walks backstage
"What about the hundred grand?!" Wiz asked seriously
"Don't you worry Wiz, there has to be a way to get it" Kermit said thinking
"What? Kermit no!" Wiz said going after him "Listen to me, this show is not going to save your theatre. You're at rock bottom pal"
Kermit jumps onto the moon set piece and said as he grips a lever "Yep, and you know what's great about hitting rock bottom Wiz? There is only one way left to go and that's….up!" He pulls the lever and the moon goes upward with him on it
Wiz watches his friend shoot upward with a look of shock and concern, he wasn't convinced on Kermit's optimism and was sure his friend was setting himself up for heartbreak.
